"Alright, get some rest Chao." He said before going to his room to gather some of his belongings. "And one more things Chao; have faith in me. I won't steer you guys wrong." Ace knew what he did was risky but it was a calculated risk. She wouldn't be able to trace him and everything was fine. Well almost everything, there was still the possibility of another merc guild; but he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

He went to his room and grabbed a special pair of glasses that had a small screen for the right lens. image.jpg

"
Display map, citywide" said Ace as he watched a small map of their city render over the right lens. He thought about the merc hideout that Chao had mentioned earlier. It didn't look to be very far, there was a hotel near it along with an adjacent building. No doubt Shiek would have scoped the place by now. Shit, she had given him her rifle. He made a note to get her rifle cleaned soon then go on about looking around. "Always so much to do" Ace said to himself as he put two hidden wrist blades under his sleeves. Things were starting to heat up and knowing that mercs were probably looking for him made him edgy.

After checking his own weapons, he grabbed Shiek's rifle and slung it over his shoulder. He walked outside and saw the glasses darken to block his eyes from the sun. It's amazing how something so small could show just how much technology had progressed over time

spooked by the voice. she immediately turned drawing her pistol aiming for his chest. using a fake voice "if you know whats good for ya youll leave." she looked him over his attire screamed name merc. in her head theyre not just hunting ace theyre hunting everyone on the team

Standing there Chao took in the receding moments of the day feeling soothed and relaxed. I wonder how long it's been He thought quietly to himself. He shook his head, his long hair running across his eyes limiting his vision. I need a haircut soon he thought, turning around to head back inside. Although it was nice outside and he enjoyed nothing more than to stare at the approaching night sky and ponder life itself, he was indeed tired, not so much physically but rather mentally. His odd habit of over thinking things, aided with the fact that his attention span on any topic tended not to last longer than a minute, definitely took it's toll. Approaching the door to their HQ, Chao saw Ace standing at the doorway with his pair of sunglasses on. He walked past him, saying, "When it starts to go down, if you need me, you know where to reach me." He placed his hand in his pocket and grasped one of the objects he'd left in their, alongside an easy to conceal ranged weapon if you will. The object he clasped was essentially really just a regular modern smart phone. Naturally he'd rigged it so he could only accept calls and messages that were sent from private lines though. He walked inside and took a seat, kicking up his feet and closing his eyes to get some rest, for the storm that would commence soon.

spooked by the voice. she immediately turned drawing her.......

Seeing her take the pistol out and point it at him, made him chuckle a bit, He didn't move, for surely any sudden movement would result in her shooting, and he wasn't in the mood to make a lot of noise with this one. As lightning in the sky rumbled Julius's eyes narrowed and his smile left quickly. "Give up now, and you will be treated fairly, and placed amoungst the rest of those who's names are now recorded, this is how the world is now, you and your ragtag group of freedom fighters stand in the name of chaos." As he spoke He took a few steps towards her, slow steps, but forward progress. A sincere look upon his face, as he approached. "Do you not wish for a world of peace?" His voice rose a bit as he stopped stepping towards her now. Spreading his arms out he looked to her with expectancy. "You need only speak your true name, and the world will forever be peaceful."

Jasmine aimed her pistol at his leg and let a rip through his thigh. Still using her fake voice. "i told you that you should've left if you knew what's good for you." she put her pistol away and began running towards the edge of the roof. She jumped off landing on the roof of the next building. From there she made way to the ground and disappeared into the shadows of the alley.

Ace heard the shot in the distance. "Shit" he said as he realized it was coming from the direction Shiek had went off. He wanted to sprint off in that direction but he knew he couldn't. If he ran he would instantly give away his position to any mercs in the area. No doubt they could put two and two together and find that he and Shiek were working together. He had faith in her and just hoped everything would be okay when he got there. He didn't run but he walked quickly in the direction of the shot. He felt comforted by the weight of Shiek's rifle on his back. If anyone stopped him, her give them his emergency I.D and tell them he was working as an undercover name merc. If that didn't work....well he still had his wrist blades.

His eyes narrowed quickly as he saw her finger moving on the trigger, throwing himself to the side he did a one-handed cartwheel, drawing a pistol of his own as he was upside down, pointing in her direction he landed back on his feet and decided to spare the shot, as he now had what he wanted. Holstering the pistol Julius walked over to the edge of the rooftop and peered downward. "I wonder if you will be able to resist the call of your friends, Ace." He said under his breath as he slid down the fire escape and landed once again on the street level, sliding his hands in his pockets he walked along the streets, the rain now ever so lightly coming down, his eyes peered forward, but he wasn't really using his eyes to see. Focusing mainly on his hearing he was listening to the footsteps around him, searching specifically for any one set of foot-patterns that were moving more quickly than the others.

This would be Ace, who wouldn't be running as that would obviously be a give away as to who he was, or at least that he was a participating member of that group, however He wondered if Ace would be clever enough to pick up on the tricks he had up his sleeve. This was all about a cat and mouse, and Julius was a panther in this world of black.

Shiek slowly made her way back to the headquarters. She made sure no one was following her. After getting back to the headquarters she removed her mask.

Character: G***** aka Gold

Gold stands on a nearby roof watching as things below, he sighs to himself. He moves his way down the building until he enters the crowd. His cloak concealing his face. He realizes he might be acting a little suspicious but brushes that aside. All these people working to get names, it makes me sick. He scrowls under his breath, a bit too loudly, someone in the area glares at him. He keeps his head down not to show his face. What's even worse is these people "protecting" people by changing their names. He grins, But it is rather selfless, I suppose. But both jobs are both so rewarding.

He turns a corner and sits down across the wall. He checks his wallet and sees all his fake IDs and sorts through them and then checks his money. Fifty dollars?! He laughs at himself, a dark smile forming as he throws someone's real ID with their real name in the crowd. He tilts his head and leans his face against the brick wall. Waiting for someone to pick it up.

Lilith and X had been completely oblivious to what had happened outside, much more focused on planning their next move and, trying to figure out whatever they could about Ace.

"We're sure as hell not gonna find anything in here. Check out, and let's go. I'll be waiting out front." X did just so, grabbing his supplies and destroying the already broken communication device. "Can't have anyone tracking this back, now can we?" Going downstairs, he waved to a worker he found attractive, and continued out. He pulled out a single key, pressing a button it it twice, and his hovercraft made it's way to him.

"Thanks for leaving me the bill. Very gentlemanly of you." Lilith hopped on the motorcycle behind him, again only clutching the seat.

"Figured it'd make you feel more independent. You women like that stuff, right?" This right here was why she wished Sir would have given her a different partner, as brilliant as he was, X was nothing short of an asshole. "Fair warning, even after the pills I'm still buzzed." Before she could protest his driving, he cackled and took off, going at just a high enough speed to make Lilith want to vomit.

A man walks by and picks up the ID. He looks straight and laughs. Gold shakes his head on how terrible and thoughtless people can treat others... or do to others.

He looks at a small piece of paper and chuckles. He reads the name out loud, "Lilith." He stands up, and walks back into the crowd, this time blending in perfectly.

Ace slowed his pace in order to blend into the crowd around him. The city was always full of people rushing from here to there, so ace was able to mix in with them perfectly. He kept a calm composure while using his sunglasses to search for Sheik. "Come on where the hell are you?" He thought to himself as he came to a building adjacent to the merc holdout, once he was out of the cover of the mass crowds, he put his hands in his pockets and began walking up the stairs. He prepared himself to engage his hidden blades if he were to run into trouble or to pull Sheik's rifle if someone pulled a gun. The name mercs were getting pretty restless when it came to hunting his group, and that was going to prove a bad thing for either group. The mercs or the ghosts

Slowing to a stop Julius looked around, people were walking here and there and nothing seemed too terribly out of place. If Ace was in this mob, he was blending in too well for him to be able to feel him out, which didn't come as much of a surprise, he was some high ranking member of those that still hid amoungst the Nameless. Sliding his hands into his pockets he strolled casually down the street, "And so the game continues..." He said under his breath as He turned a corner and seemingly disapeared from sight.

Shirk pick up her communicator that chaobhad made. The signal constantly changed so you couldn't track it. Using a fake voice ace was very familiar with she spoke into it. "Hey ace ive made it back to hq. I made sure I wasn't followed."

Ace had made it to where Shiek and the other merc had been before he got the call from Shiek. "Good, I'll be back in a bit. Doing a quick check" said ace using a fake voice. He walked around a bit before finding some expended bullet casings on the ground. He picked up one of the two different casings and put them in his pocket. He'd take them to Chao and see what information he could pull from them.

Ace made his way back to base, using an alternate route and making sure no one could pick up a path to their hideout or follow him. These mercs were getting too close for comfort. Once inside he went to find Chao. "
Hey Chao, do you think you could run an analysis on some bullet casings I found; maybe find the gun it came from?"

"Hi how are you" said a man that came out of nowhere

Chacter Appearance: GothAnimeGirl.jpg
Identifies As: Snow
Occupation: Name Clearer

Snow was blind, she couldn't see but her hearing was amazing and she could almost always tell what a sound was. A gun shot, rain, people walking, no one walking faster than the others. Her thoughts churn as she walks with her cane out tapping the ground to help Snow avoid tripping over anything undesired. She taps a beer bottle once, knows the sound and steps to the left to walk around the bottle. No one knew who she was, did it help that she herself didn't really know who she was since she had gone by Snow for so long now? Probably, I am easily forgettable, save for my snow white hair. Her pale white eyes glitter brightly as she stares straight ahead, people often wondered how she 'cleared' people's names when she herself was blinder than a bat; it was a very simple answer though, blind you could get close to nearly anyone and as people were drawn to her, she could hear the things surrounding that person better. The slightest sound could warn her of a Name Merc, not all of them were that good, she had not saved all of her clients though, one could only do so much with sound and she had no weapon to speak of; being blind no one thought she was capable of handling an actual weapon, so her cane comes in handy on occasions as she had the cane specifically designed to expand a pointed tip when she was in danger by pressing a simple button. Snow was not the best Clearer around, no that title belonged to Ace; whom she had heard of but had never worked with, Snow was made to work alone only interacting with people whom she helped, and despite her losses she had helped many more, in her mind it couldn't make up for the losses but it was still something.

Snow hates this world, hates that she has to hide, hates that she's alone, but she is and she knows that all that Snow wanted was peace, where she could share her name with people instead of having to put all her time into saving others names. The blind girl in her black victorian style dress stood out like a rotten tomato among fresh cucumbers; but because people always confided in her they needed help she was not known as a Name Clearer, no one would really pointedly hunt the blind girl, but everybody would recognize her because she was blind and functioned well on her own. She didn't have any personal information on her or any money on her, ever, because she was blind people often thought she easily pick pocketed, but you had to do it carefully around Snow; who was hyper sensitive to sound and touch, the people who weren't careful met the pointed end of her cane, often scaring them off without harming them. Snow is a very kind person in a world that's filled with secrets and lies but she also refuses to rely on anyone.

At the moment in time that Snow hears the gunshot she herself was headed to meet a client she had been working with for a few days now, she was glad for the shot's sound, it would distract many people away from her. As she taps her cane along she raises her hand at a wall and feels a sign feeling out the letters which she spells in her head and smiles when it is the apartment she was looking for. The plaque she had read with her hands said "Garnet" and that was it. Slowly, tapping her way up the stairs she arrives at the door to this woman's apartment and taps lightly, three quick successions that signals that it is in fact Snow at the door. When the door is answered Snow walks in casually chatting with the woman cheerfully. Despite the fact that Snow looked young she was about twenty one and on top of being blind she had a small development disease that would make her always appear as a child; which helped with her work. Eventually Snow passes a fake ID to the young woman she had been talking to, in return the woman presses money into Snow's hand and with a rushed 'thank you' takes off, leaving for wherever she could to get away from the Name Mercs looking for her here. Feeling satisfied Snow stands and exits after the woman, she had a habit of erasing all evidence of people, rather with a loud roar of destruction or a silent passing of a chip to another Clearer to wipe all the data of the person behind, today was one of those days that she would rid the evidence with some destruction and with a flick of her wrist lights a match that she tosses onto the couch she had just been sitting on before walking away calmly; after all who would suspect a little girl of doing something like this, especially if they were blind? She slowly disappears down an alley only the tap tap of her cane able to be heard.

Snoring loudly Chao quickly jumped up in his chair upon hearing Ace, his pleasant dreams fading as he was forced to face the real world once more, "Hmmm? Oh yeah sure, I'll take a look at them" He reached out and grabbed the casings still groggy from his nap. He stretched out his back, feeling the soreness that followed from sleeping on a chair. After stretching, he looked down to the shells. They were cold at the tip, but felt warmer towards the end, signifying that it had been shot recently. The metallic smell of the bullet reached his nose. "This casing seems awful familiar." He squinted harder at it, trying to determine where he'd seen it from before. Shrugging, he carefully took the casing over to a nearby table, which he'd claimed for his own. Strewn along it was various contraptions and some maps of local areas. Pinned to the wall around it were lists of names and pictures of people, none of which he wanted to delve into now. Or ever. He took a seat down at his table, reaching across to a machine that had a blue cover over it. Pulling the cover off revealed the strange contraption underneath. It contained a flat bed, with some lights pointing at it and a small arm. Attached to the top where the ends of the lights and arm and other tubes and wires that made the machine work was a blue screen. Carefully placing the bullet down upon the bed, he reached around with his other hand to grab a wire that hung off the back. He grabbed another contraption, which was really just a phone. He plugged the wire into a slot on the side of the phone, and the blue screen sprung to life, filling up with the names of the fake identity's people went by and other various information. He tapped the screen twice and the list stopped filling up. The screen flashed red, and the arm began to move closely, almost examining, the casing he'd placed on the bed. After a couple of seconds, the arm stopped moving and retracted back to it's resting place. The screen at the top flashed green. He tapped the screen, and a large display of information on the bullet appeared. "Alright, let's see here...." He quickly skimmed over the make up of the bullet which contained chemical symbols and materials and what not, and skipped to the section it had on DNA and possible sources it had originated from. Chao's face grew sullen. He turned to Ace, "This is Sheik's bullet." He reached around the back of the machine and flicked a switch, powering down the whole device. Getting up from his seat he left the machine in the middle of the table, still dazed from his sleep. He walked back across the room and sat down on to the chair he'd slept on, "Did I miss something?" He asked, feeling like something had happened.

Gold had been looking for someone like her, or rather anyone like them. Name Clearers were often easy to find, except Ace. But a reaper had no ties with a ghost. He saw everything that Snow did, she'd been flawless until he realized something. He hadn't realized she was blind until that tapping she did every so often. But what blind girl would walk so easily, and rushing without a person next to her. Name Merc, maybe? It made things much easier including with that innocent look. A bit of him was angry that she would put herself into a situation that she couldn't excel at. As he followed her into the alley he took a pole made a loud clang to a nearby post . He needed information and she'd been the unlucky name merc or clearer, whatever she was, he was looking for. Again, he made a loud clang just in case she thought it a hoax. He smiled, his face being concealed and his arms out wide showing nothing in his hand as he dropped the pole.

The pair had dismounted the motorcycle, Lilith walking slightly ahead of X. They both vigilantly searched for anything suspicious.

There! A person picked up an ID card and walked off with it. There was a clearer nearby, which wasn't very surprising. Like rats, they were everywhere.

What made this important was the flashback it caused Lilith to have.

The same thing, a man drops a card, two strangers pass each other, and the fight starts. There was no doubt in her mind that the man who saved her had been Ace. That was it. It was very likely Ace was a clearer now, in fact, she had no doubt.

"What happened? See your reflection?" X teased her but was genuinely concerned, it was unlike his partner to just zone out like she did.

"We were wrong... Our target is a clearer." A silence was shared between them, they both knew clearers were infinitely harder to catch, and for the first time in their careers, they were being timed.

"You sure? How do you know?" Their voices were just whispers, only able to be picked up by the devices in their ears. She went over her flashback for him, stopping to sit on a bench. "Crap." X stood beside her, pushing his hand through his hair. "Sir gave us a month to catch a clearer we know nothing about?!"

This was all very suspicious. It almost seemed like Sir wanted to kill them. X was at least understandable, he had it coming for a very long time. But why kill Lilith? She had been perfectly loyal for years, and never once failed a mission.

"Is Sir just using this as an excuse to kill us?" None of it made sense, from the brawl that occurred, and now hunting a man their boss had to know was a clearer. Either of them had never had a strict time limit on their hits. Why was one so suddenly implemented?

"That asshole is setting us up."
