The Heroic Youth Initiative takes place in a fictional universe inhabited by the characters of various works of Western animation. Due to the conflicting canon-histories of some of those shows, I have taken the liberty to adapt the universe as I see fit. There will be some differences in the backstories of various characters, while other backstories of some characters will remain largely untouched. In the same way, various organisations who serve more or less the same purpose, such as W.O.O.H.P., Global Justice, Global Security, the Plumbers, Skyway Patrol, and the like, do not exist––rather, they have grown as a single organisation tasked with keeping humanity safe from harm. This world, inhabited by gifted individuals whether by science, magic, a spike in evolution, or by extraterrestrial means, faces constant threats from opposing forces, and it is up to the protagonists to defend their home and advocate truth, justice, and righteousness.
On a final note, all characters are owned by their respective companies.

WORLD HISTORY
DIFFERENCES FROM VARIOUS SERIES
(Please base your characters and their respective backgrounds on these creative tweaks)
- The Omnitrix grants its wearer the ability to read and understand alien languages (although not speak it unless when transformed in the alien language's alien race.) The reason for this is because the Omnitrix injects a needle in the user's bloodstream via the wrist, giving them blank DNA that can turn into alien DNA. This is what gives Omnitrix users their signature green eyes. Anyone who wishes to play as Ben Tennyson must abide by these rules.
- The Powerpuff Girls must be meta-human clones of regular humans (think Superboy from Young Justice). Anyone who wishes to play as either Blossom, Bubbles, or Buttercup must abide by this rule.
- XJ-9 must be a robotic version of Nora Wakeman's deceased daughter Jenny Wakeman, who died in an accident. Anyone who wishes to play as XJ-9/Jenny Wakeman must abide by this rule.
- Fairies and other magical creatures are now known by the public but no longer aid children for fear of getting captured and exploited for their magical powers. Anyone who wishes to play as Timmy Turner must abide by this rule.
- Bessie Higgenbottom must have the same powers as Marvel's Wasp or DC's Bumblebee. Anyone who wishes to play as Bessie Higgenbottom must abide by this rule.
- The Te Xuan Ze is not bound to any one town. Also, Samurai Jack was once a Te Xuan Ze himself, and his signature sword is the sword blessed by Raava's blood, which gives it its potency against evil. Unlike the Avatar, Te Xuan Zes do not reincarnate. They are, however, all related. Samurai Jack, Kai Yee, Jasmine Lee, and Juniper Lee, therefore, are all related. Anyone who wishes to play as Juniper Lee must abide by this rule.
- The Cluster are all biomechanical beings that infect weak-willed biological beings. They are like the Zerg.
- Queen Vexus is Princess Morbucks chosen to be the Cluster's Queen
- Osmosians are not beings created by Servantis, but from a planet named Osmos V. Anyone who wishes to play as Kevin Levin must abide by this rule.
- Malware is a creation of Mandark that stimulates a Galvanic Mechamorph without a personality–it absorbs technology as well as upgrades it to its full potential.
- V.V. Argost successfully stole a small part of Kur's powers from Zak and was human first before being mutated into a half-Yeti. Anyone who wishes to play as Zak Saturday must abide by this rule.
- Dexter's parents were killed by Mandark, while Dee Dee is turned into the Forever Ninja. The Forever Ninja is not a robot. Anyone who wishes to play as Dexter must abide by these rules.
- Some of Danny Phantom's ghost enemies are all humans able to tap into their spiritual energy, much like Danny Phantom and Vlad Plasmius e.g. Penelope Spectra, Ember McLain, Technus, etc. Anyone who wishes to play as Danny Fenton must abide by this rule.
- With the exception of Korra, Otto Osworth, and Finn Mertens, protagonists from any cartoon set in a time before the modern age are either historical figures (Aang, Samurai Jack, Dave the Barbarian, etc.) or in the future (Generator Rex, K.O., Thundarr the Barbarian, etc.) Unless you have a valid way of explaining their existence in this world.
- Finn Mertens must be a time-traveling visitor from a post-apocalyptic future, and his goal is to uncover the exact events that led to the Mushroom War that created Ooo. Anyone who wishes to play as Finn Mertens must abide by this rule.
- Benders do not exist in this continuity. There are only five Benders, and that is the Waterbender, Earthbender, FIrebender, Airbender, and Avatar himself. The four elemental Benders' duty is to teach Korra how to control her powers, and empower her with their own. Inevitably, the Avatar must "work" to earn the key to unlocking her elemental abilities, at the cost of the benders'. Anyone who wishes to play as Korra must abide by this rule.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- The standard Iwaku rules apply.
- No meta-gaming, god-modding, or creating Mary Sue characters.
- Always make sure you have a minimum of two well-written paragraphs (5-7 complete sentences) in your posts. So please have great spelling and grammar.
- Since we will all be using characters from different Western Animation shows, absolutely NO cursing. The usage of damn is fine, however.
- Characters from both adult Western Animation shows (American Dad, Family Guy, the Venture Bros. the Simpsons, etc.); shows specifically for children (Dora the Explorer, Little Einsteins, etc.); CGI shows (Jimmy Neutron, League of Super Evil, etc.); and shows from either Marvel or DC comics (Justice League Unlimited, Avengers Assemble, Beware the Batman, Young Justice, Teen Titans, Ultimate Spider-Man, etc.) cannot be used.
- If you post IC, you must wait for two posts before you go post again.
- IC drama should not become OOC drama. Problems must be dealt with in PM. Be tactful towards one another, and make use of proper ethics and social morals.
- I am an open-minded GM, so please PM me any concerns or creative briefs. I'll think about them.
- Upon joining, your characters will belong to you, albeit are subject to any change I see fit. If, for any reason, you leave the roleplay, then your character will belong to me, and I will use him or her any way I see fit.
- Maximum of 2 characters only. You can only also play as HEROES.
- To show you have read these rules, introduce yourself to the Commander as your character e.g. "Greetings and salutations Commander, I am Dexter, Boy Genius!" or something like that.

CHARACTER LIST

Name: Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory
Age:16
Personality:Once obsessed with nothing but science, Dexter turned to vigilantism after the death of his parents and the disappearance of his sister Dee Dee. Dexter is devoted to justice, and would go to great lengths to uphold it, such as violating many laws and even G.J.S.D. protocol. Dexter has an indomitable will and is an expert strategist and hacker. He is also cold and calculating. He is brash and outspoken, and does not tolerate childish antics, and is usually short-tempered.
Character's History:Dexter was a boy genius who created his own lab underneath his house as well as other scientific gadgets. His sister Dee Dee, knew of his secret and was often the bane of his existence, casually destroying precious inventions and causing catastrophes. Using his various machines, he would solve little crimes across the globe. He was discovered by the Global Justice and Security Directorate and was then invited to join them. It wasn't after the murder of his parents at the hands of his rival Mandark and Dee Dee's disappearance that Dexter turned into a vigilante and accepted the G.J.S.D.'s call to help the world.
Skills, Abilities, Equipment, Weapons, and Armour:Dexter is a genius. He has no inherent superhuman abilities, instead relying on his scientific knowledge, deductive skills, and athletic prowess. He has a genius-level intellect (able to build a large laboratory and equipment by himself, as well as most of the Global Justice and Security Directorate's machinery, labs, and satellites, etc.), one of the greatest martial artists, detectives, interrogators, engineers, inventors, builders, architects, marksmen, acrobats, pilots, drivers, and scientists (specialising in all types of known sciences, even philosophy and social science), among other professions, in the world, and having peak human physical conditioning. He is multilingual (his favourite being the French language), a master of different fields of science, and a polymath.
Dexter's arsenal consists of:
- Glasses: Equipped with infrared vision, night vision, ultraviolet vision, x-ray vision. Dexter's glasses can see patterns such as footprints, fingerprints, etc. on surfaces, and traces of chemicals either in the air, or on surfaces. His lens can digitally recreate the retinal patterns of foes in order to open locations with retinal scanner locks. It also a digital camera, as well as a vision that gives him the ability to scan for a building's structural integrity. It can also zoom to magnify things at a microscopic level. It also has a communications link built into them.
- Gloves: Equipped with lead shots and graphene to strengthen his punches, taser shock capabilities in the palms, a wrist-mounted grappling launcher, and a holographic interface computer. The palms can also emit energy to propel himself off the ground in unison with his boots. The fingertips also have print scanners so it can scan foes' fingertip patterns and be used to unlock locations that require the finger of an enemy to be scanned. It has a cryptographic sequencer and remote hacking tool. Dexter also has a universal, bendable lock-pick hidden in his pinky. His left glove has a compartment for gas pellets, smoke pellets, pellet grenades, flash pellets, tracers, and adhesive bombs.
- Belt: Has a holster for two non-lethal plasma pistols which he uses with great efficiency, accuracy, and precision (that can combine and turn into a combat rifle), bio and slime scanner, a forcefield generator, an explosive gel and detonator, as well as holographic mines. He also has Dex-stars that can be remote controlled or explode, a breathing mechanism for underwater travel, and plasma knives.
- Clothing Fabrics: Constructed with tri-weave titanium fibres, with flexible liquid armour with light mechanised parts. The benefits of his coat and pants not only allowed Dexter to be fast and agile, but it also allowed him to survive the G-Forces applied to his body when he ejected out of his Dexo-Transformers. Additionally, if the suit wasn't capable of withstanding the impact and Dexter was wounded, the suit would compress around the wound and stop the bleeding. It is resistant, but not immune, to gunfire and bladed weapons.
- Boots: Has repulsor rocket capabilities that allow him to fly, run faster, jump higher, and swim at high speeds.
- Dexo-Transformer(s): Dexter's robotic suits come in a variety of ways, from satellite drop-offs, to a technologically advanced backpack that turns into a robotic suit, to the flying drones that accompany him on missions which stick to his body and turn into a mechanised suit. These suits have repulsor beams, missile launchers, rocket fists, and other possible weapons.
Weaknesses, Annoyances, Dislikes, or Fears:Dexter is just a normal human being, and has no inherent super powers. He is heavily annoyed with people who are arrogant and self-absorbed, or anyone who comes between him and his work. He dislikes people who disrespects the name of his late parents, and is easily angered when situations get difficult. Dexter has no fears.
Differences with the Character from the Show:My Dexter resembles both Batman and Iron Man––he has Batman's dark, brooding personality, silent nature, and merciless aggression. Much like Iron Man, he finds solace in his laboratory and his inventions. While the original Dexter is a goofball, this Dexter is quite serious and more often than not, intimidating, despite his young age. This Dexter is also an avid fan of wanton destruction, and often requires to control himself when utilising the weapons he himself invents. This Dexter holds long grudges, and misses his sister very dearly.
"Greetings Commander. I am Dexter, and I am here to help, so long as you keep your end of the bargain."

Name: Star Butterfly, from Star Butterfly Vs The Forces of Evil
Age:
14
Personality:Star is very energetic and friendly. She loves having fun, and usually has an optimistic outlook on life. She loves to help others and whenever she sees that someone is upset, she does her best to cheer them up. Strangers, in her eyes, are just friends she hasn't met yet, and she feels bad if she hurts someone's feelings, whether intentionally or not. Star has a happy-go-lucky attitude and always puts a smile on everyone's faces. Owing to her rather sheltered upbringing, Star's optimism and enthusiasm can border on recklessness, to the point of endangering the people around her with her madcap antics. She has rather simplistic views on concepts such as leadership and responsibility, believing that prioritizing fun above all else matters the most. She is a tough and hardened fighter, and is protective of her friends.
Character's History:Star Butterfly is the crowned Princess of Mewni, but upon inheriting her wand, wreaked havoc all across the Kingdom. Because of this, she was banished by her parents to Earth. There, she found herself to be an ordinary Mewman––no powers, enhanced abilities, or even her access to magic. She was taken in by Principal Skeeves who, in all actuality, was a Mewman himself. This made it possible for the Principal to pull some strings and give Star a home in the Diaz family residence, where she met Marco Diaz. Star hated the life she had been in, as there was no magical thrill, action, or any eventful happenings in her life. The Butterfly Royal Wand was lost to her, or so she thought––it was in truth with Principal Skeeves, who was tasked by Star's father to watch over her. The Wand's dull appearance implied that Star was still unworthy to wield the wand. One day, the forces of Ludo, the banished traitor of Mewni, followed Star to Earth. There, they kidnapped the Diaz family. She had attempted to fight Ludo's forces, but she was always knocked down and beaten. When she realised she could not save them, Star offered to trade herself for their freedom. She was then chained and was slowly dragged to the portal which Ludo and his forces used to go inside Earth. Little did they know, this self-sacrificial act was what the Wand needed to see to brand Star as a worthy wielder. It broke out of Principal Skeeves' vault, and flew straight towards Star's hand. Empowered by the mystical energies of the Butterfly Royal Wand, she had enough strength to defeat Ludo and drive him and his forces back to the dark dimension. It was then that the Commander and his magical department of the Global Justice and Security Directorate was watching her, and recruited her into their fold. Sometime later, she went through Mewberty, which gave access to her Mewberty Wings and its enhanced form.
Skills, Abilities, Equipment, Weapons, and Armour:
Star is a teenage Mewman, a race of fairy-like humanoids with an affinity for magic. She has enhanced strength and agility, and has the ability of self-propelled flight, thanks to her Mewberty Wings. She can transform into her Mewberty Form. In her Mewberty Form, her wings grow larger, she can also encase herself in a protective purple skin, and grow two extra pairs of arms. She has spider-like powers, enhanced strength, speed, and senses. In this form, she can shoot Purple Weaves to bind enemies and make them fall asleep. However, this form exhausts her heavily, unlike Jake Long, who can be in his Dragon Form indefinitely. Star also wields her family's Royal Wand, which can do a number of things:- Shapeshifting – The wand can be any weapon Star thinks off, but she mostly uses it for large, bludgeoning weapons, such as maces and clubs.
- Hexes – Star can cast magical spells to temporarily make one thing into another, or change the entire biological makeup of most people.
- Energy Projection – Star can cast energy beams manifested in rainbow light. These beams can either solidify or act as plasma.
- Mystical Link – The wand is mystically linked to Star. It flies towards her hand, or to anyone, when commanded.
Weaknesses, Annoyances, Dislikes, or Fears:Star is powerless without her wand, and is unable to perform any form of magic. She is also easily distracted.
Differences with the Character from the Show:- This Star has access to her Mewberty form in the episode 'Mewberty' whereas Mewberty is a one-time occurrence for young Mewmans.
- Principal Skeeves is a Mewman, and wasn't simply bribed with a treasure chest by Star's father.
- Star is basically like Thor here––she needs to be worthy to hold her wand, she has no knowledge of Earth customs, her weapon acts much like Mjonlir, and she is powerless without it.
Likes and Dislikes:
Star likes fighting monsters, riding unicorns, helping others, cute and adorable creatures, having fun, cute boys, Marco's ringtone, living on Earth, parties, lines, dancing, fortune cookies, nachos, rainbows, and rainbow cake. She dislikes St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses, Ludo, Tom, clowns, boredom, mean and rude people, spells going wrong, Marco being overprotective of her, being underestimated, being defeated, and arrogant people.
