#1 - Since I'm new, and don't really come on often, I love it how it is ! But maybe fonts, like so that you can make pretty words and stuff !

#2 writing and cooking, two of my most lovable hobbies !

#3 honestly, if the person is enjoying it, if they're the enjoying work of art, I am too.

#4 the medical worker ! I don't mind a lil blood or pressure. So I think I'll go with that !
#5 I don't have the discord, I tried to go to it and it told me invite expired. But I mostly lurk and wait for someone to notice me. But its getting boring with now roleplay partners !

I'm new (as in just joined today) and am looking for people to roleplay with.
My interests:
- Male omorashi
- Angst
- Batman (the whole bat family)
- Marvel
- Original Characters (OC)

Dislikes:
- Extreme Age play
- NSFW (sex, but not kissing and erections)
- Messing

I know it's a little different and not every body is into that, but just a clarification, I'm not looking for the rp to be sexual or kink related. If you have any questions, ask me. If you want to do an rp, but aren't sure about omorashi, still feel free to ask me and we can avoid it if we need to.

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?

I first joined in 2016 (though I lost that account due to losing the email address connected to it) and I used to love making new characters and planning them out!

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

I use VOCALOID! I love making computers sing and I own Sweet Ann!

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?

I'd probably make it a massive open roleplay set on another planet.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?

I guess I'd be the motivator?

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?

I'm definitely a lurker but I prefer to roleplay in private convos

Didn't think I'd do this, but here I am!
Let me make a short introduction first. I am called Esmeralda around the net (not to be mistaken by any other Esmeralda that you somehow had adopted and disowned, or whatever else you can come up with. uwu). I have roleplayed for about 7 years, I believe. Maybe more, maybe less. I am currently a 22, turning 23 years old bum. I have only just finished college so I am currently on the hunt for a job (pray for me here.).

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?
I joined Iwaku in 2014 by chance. But I didn't exactly have any fond memories up until this year, a few weeks ago, actually, when I joined @Adrian 's modern Hogwarts roleplay, and this is by far the most fun I had on Iwaku.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?
I am highly passionate about the English language! I'd love to become an English teacher one day! I have applied for a job and I do hope that I managed to get in. I currently have a part time teaching gig at my local community center and I am in love.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?
Teehee. It is currently on the works. I am incredibly excited about this. But it takes such a long time as I am worldbuilding from scratch and I am hoping to be as detailed as possible. The setting will be a high fantasy, my personal favourite. As for the plot itself, we'll see how it goes. 😋

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?
Oh no. This is such a hard question. But I believe I will probably take on a domestic role. Cooking for the rest and also cleaning and washing up. At the very least, external hygiene must be taken care of.

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?
I am mostly a lurker though I am currently in the process of shrugging myself off of my shell and sometimes will say hi here and there on Iwaku. As for the discord, I believe I'll still lurk. It's rather intimidating. 😅

Been here about... hmmm... four years, give or take. Being old, my memory fails. I came here from Roleplayer Guild, after it was lost and rebuilt. Followed others who left, due to the rumors that the owner deliberately let the site be destroyed, so he could start from scratch. Eight years worth of stories, lost... site had some great writers, and I participated in some great stories. All just gone. But I've found a new place here. Not as active as I was there, but still, I hang on. For the future? I'd really like to finish a story here.

Over the last year, I've been investing time and money in finally getting my electric scoot customized. Heh... for "educational" purposes, here's a vid (not me in the vid) so you can see what I ride, in its original form:

Wouldn't have taken so long to get back on two wheels if I hadn't had a snafu with fitting a new BMS (Battery Management System) to my original battery pack (the old one had a glitch). A series of cells failed to charge, and were drained to zero... not good for lithium-ion batteries! So, I'm presently waiting for a custom pack to be finished, working with the guy through emails to make sure this new, custom pack fits the needed specs. Very happy with the progress, so far! But so many delays, decisions and false turns, in this year-long process. All to make "Old Reliable" better. Faster. Stronger. Best form of transportation on the planet! And I love to ride.

This is very hard to decide, what to do with this prophecy. So many stories to tell. So many characters to grow. Being into Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and being an alien critter specialist... love building the biology/anatomy/culture/world/characters to live in same. Honestly, I can't think of any one setting or story. To me, just being able to finish a story... to finish what I and others write together... would be perfect.

Gun/Blade "Guardian"....... Long ago, worked my way through college scrubbing toilets and the like. Someone's gotta clean up the mess. Plus, I'm a gun owner who also likes a good blade. One is fun to use, whether hunting or plinking or punching paper. Or putting down zombies, while standing far enough away to avoid the splatter. The other comes in very handy for cutting things. Though my nose and gorge wouldn't like getting that close. But we must be prepared for up close and personal zombie encounters, shouldn't we?

Right now, it's kinda between lurking above the clouds and PMing potential partners... or just responding in their request threads. Not having very much luck with that, so far. Would be nice to find more people interested in RPing with someone who likes playing non-humans/non-humanoids. And finding people stubborn enough to finish a story, no matter how long it takes.

Hey, never hurts to dream!

Hi there! I'm Lex, I'm 29 and probably haven't roleplayed since I was 24ish, but getting back into it since I'm stuck in my house now. I started rping when I was 13 or so.

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?
I'm brand new, I'm just hoping to get back into writing a little bit since I have all this spare time now.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?
Cosplay! It's taken over my life for the most part, I'm on instagram as oliviouscosplay.
Also music and acting.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?
I love grungy modern fantasy stuff set in a dystopian city of some kind, would love to do that sort of thing agin.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?
The one who cracks jokes and tries to keep everyone's spirits up with music or comedy. God knows I'm useless at actual survival stuff.

Well seeing as I just got here I guess I'll find out. But probably the latter because anxiety?

Hello. Hospitaller's the name, but Hosp(i) generally works too. Or whatever variation you find particularly pleasing at the moment, I don't really mind.

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?
Fresh off the boat to Iwaku, and I'd like to restimulate them there cree-ay-tive juices once more, especially with the lockdowns going on.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?
I really like weapons, as edgy as that sounds. Ranging from medieval to modern. I used to take HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) classes for the German Longsword, and I love my firearms. I guess it's sort of like a grownup's toys? Other than that, gaming and reading.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?
I hate to fill the stereotype, but Low Fantasy world without magic. Anything left is traces of magic, a shadow of itself, and the world is at war. However, something changes in the world, and magic begins to creep back into the land, slowly, but surely. Along with magic, comes the magical creatures; manticores, vampires, werewolves. Beasts, monsters, demons, and the races of the planet have to figure out how to survive their new world.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?
Security/Defender/Executioner. I've got a mind for the defense, and I'm good with securing buildings and access points without overextending resources. After that, I hate asking others to do something if I can't do it myself, so you'll find me on the frontline when it's time to brawl. When there's a tough decision to be made, or whoever's made the decision is having trouble following through (leader), I'm willing to take the metaphorical bullet for the team. Someone got bit? You guys go on ahead, I'll settle things here and be right behind you. Someone caught stealing food? They're about to catch my boot in their ass as they head out the door. Other than that, I've got a variety of skills that'll help, but I'm no expert.

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?
I 100% know I tend to be quieter and more of a lurker, so I'm trying to step forward, and engage myself. But when it comes to chatting with potential RP partners, I really prefer private conversations to hash things out.

Morning all, I've found myself back at here once again. Life has pulled me in all directions but my heart has brought me back. I used to be on here many years ago. It feels like an eternity, but perhaps it wasn't -that- long ago but a few years at least. I remember when the site was under a different name even. -Spacekitten- Anyone? Anyway hope thats not sore spot for some. I remember it with fond memories hence I'm here once again. I went by other names back in the day and perhaps others may remember me. I went by Inky/InkyJoey/Joey. I think that's what they were.

Well, I'm back now. I have time to RP once more and just to say hello to old friends and perhaps make new ones. I hope that everyone is well and that I get dust off my RP skills and get back into it. I'm glad to be back and hope to reconnect with a few friends once more. Thanks in advance for having me.

Hello! I'm Kuroguri, but just call me Kuro so it's easier. I'm fourteen, and I've been roleplaying for about five(ish) years? I can't particularly remember. I've wandered around other roleplay sites like RPNation and Quotev, but I haven't been very big in the RP scene as of late. Let's answer these questions, shall we?

|+| |+| |+|

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?
I'm brand new (just joined tonight), so I sincerely hope I can find many new friends and roleplay partners here~! I've been looking to get back in the game forever now, and this seems like one of the perfect forums to do so!

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?
As a roleplayer, I've dipped my toe into writing many a time, and it's one of my huge hobbies. Art is a close second, but I don't indulge in many professional art endeavors as I do with literature.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophecy that your next roleplay will be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?
I want my roleplay masterpiece to be a survival horror something akin to Dead by Daylight. There is an entity called The Presence, who lives in a forest and takes those who have committed deplorable acts and puts them into a sort of forested killing game with many hunters. Sort of like SAW, but much more primal in nature.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?
I'd probably take the role of 'The Brains'. I pride myself on my ability to plan things to a logical T, though not exactly at the right times, as I've always been a heavy procrastinator. I'd probably keep my group alive by forming plans to get us out of danger no matter the particular situation. I've never been one for physical activity, so I'd probably be the one who stays on the sidelines quite a lot during fights with the dreaded undead unless the situation is truly dire to me and everyone else.

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?
I socialize in a lot of ways, so I'd probably ascribe to all the methods of socialization here. I look for new roleplays a lot, so I'm not particularly one to stay in the backwoods until I see something I like, though I can be a lurker at times.

I wasn't that old during my time here. But given how much time has passed since then I might now qualify as ancient.

Favourite memories have to includes holding the shitposting championships, the facehugger emoji (bring back pls) and all the late nights that I should have been spending finding a job or something.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

Gaming and Role-playing are mainly the crux of my hobbies now. Though these days it's all involved in tabletop roleplay and tabletop game design. I haven't done forum RP's since... my first year of Iwaku really.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?

That would be my old DnD world, now world for my game system of the same Wiskarrum. It'd go wherever the players went (I got dozens of plot hooks, all campaign spanning potentially) and would end with the questline naturally ending opposed to from IRL forces.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?

Either Morale Support, Tactician or something in between. I often find myself becoming a proxy leader of groups these days, despite me not really caring for it.

Discord Primarily, Iwaku site when I get curious. PMs are almost never my style unless if the subject matter is something serious which would warrant such privacy.

1.) If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?

  • Technically I joined in 2014, but I wasn't really active until late 2016 - early 2017. First fond memory was definitely the first BITE contest I took part in. I don't remember the theme, but it was so much fun writing a short little story and having it critiqued by my peers. I've only been used to toxic comments under the guise of "criticism", so it was nice to see this writing community is centered around constructive, helpful tips.

2.) Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

  • I love playing instruments. French horn is my main thing, but I just purchased a tenor saxophone, and I'm hoping to get lessons soon. If not that, youtube.

  • This is a tough one. More likely than not it would be something sci fi related, possibly in the Aliens universe. My fave :^)

Diana, we all know that you are really a group of cats in a trench coat, not an owl. I've known you since like 2006. One remembers these things.

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?

All the years that I babysitted the site and for some reason I lasted as an admin for more than ten years. So I at least have that going for me. I suppose the real answer is the friends you made along the way. The weirdness of being a teen and growing into an old fart and still chatting with people you knew back from your cringe days. That's the real legacy.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

I get paid to make steampunk props for people. I suppose that counts as a hobby. May venture into Star Wars. But that's like a whole other league.

I already have plenty of those with @Fluffy. Assuming this is the same Fluffy. And it's because Fluffy gets my weirdness.

I eat the zombies, because I hate zombie films. Except for that one black and white one. That one is legit.

Uhh, hi. I'm new to this site. I'm also an idiot who thinks having a foreign username is the coolest thing ever Anyway--

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?

I'm new to Iwaku specifically. Started RPing on AniRoleplay, went to RpNation for a bit, and due to a busier schedule, I went to Geeking before the API officially closed. Massive mistake. Anyway, Iwaku is a site recommended to me by friends, and given the glowing reviews from said friends, I'm hoping to re-invigorate the passion I had for RPing at the beginning. Longshot but hey-ho, quarantine changes things.

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

Writing in general is one of the few things I've managed to convince myself that I'm competent at. Beyond that, I've been getting increasingly passionate about game development, and learning the several facets and factors that go into game design and narrative design. Other than that, there isn't a single medium I haven't attempted once and enveloped myself in. Movies, music, you name it.

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?

I've personally written out this entire silly surreal world, with the main characters being judges of individuals who've committed any of the seven sins at any point in their lives. The setting is inter-changeable, but its aesthetic is rooted in Americana, rustic even. The main-main character revolves around a priest who suffers a crisis of faith, which ties into the seven sins thing, blah blah blah, he becomes a judge to the actions while also sinning himself in terms of believing he's meeting God and becoming an idolater.

It's mostly silly, but it's the only one I've 100% fully fleshed out, out of all of my ideas.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?

Jack of all trades, subjective master of one, and that'd probably be negotiation. I like to think I'm equipped with a silver tongue, and putting pressure on a person pushes performance perfectly.

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?

Did not realize Iwaku had a Discord. Regardless, I'd consider myself a lurker, I feel like I'd embarrass myself too much when given a space and a spotlight. Private convos are also okay.

--

Anyway, that's my intro. Excuse my under-dressed paragraphs and whatnot, like I said, I'm still trying to find the flow I once had. Hope you're all doing well beyond that. Stay safe.

1: If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?

I don't know if I count as an old member yet, but I've been kicking about for a few years now. My first fond memories of Iwaku are tied up with my first memories of roleplaying in general (reading interest checks and signups and making my first character). I was fairly reserved when I first joined and I did a fairly quick fade away (once the rps I was in died I might add, not before) only to come back nine months later and get the bug properly. The 2017 (maybe 2018?) fundraiser stands out in my mind as something pretty cool and being on staff is another highlight.

2: Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

I scuba dive and sometimes teach it, though not very much recently due to circumstances and geography. I also run a (very) small Instagram account dedicated to nerdy stuff and food because it gives me a chance to cook weird, fancy things and show off my dice.

3: The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?

Normally I would go with classic (or perhaps Pratchette-esque) fantasy but lately I've been feeling either something sci-fi (more firefly than star trek) or western. Regardless, the story is the same; The journey of a bunch of rag tag down and outs from the gutter to something better, possibly saving the world/universe on the way. Fairly standard I guess but eh, who cares.

4:Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?

Cook/baker/general food person. This isn't because I am the next Jamie Oliver or Mary Berry; its just that it is my only marketable skill in the scenario aside from bait.

Mostly I chat in discord servers for the group RPs I do. I lurk in the big Iwaku server and post there once in a blue moon but mostly I prefer something smaller. Oh and sometimes I post in general chat but that is self evident.

Hey. I am a friendly person. Apart from roleplaying I really phonesex and I do normal calls too, you when you just talk cute an all. I am like to talk about dirty stuff on and off call. So hmu and I know we can have fun together ❤️💦

Hey there I don't know how many of you remember me from a decade ago but I had an account here way back by the name of Dawn Bringer Invictus. I ran an RP thread called Soldiers of Misfortune that went on for a bit but didn't go as far as I'd hoped. Hoping I can apply the lessons I learned to future roleplays.

Hello everyone!~ I've been wanting to work on being back as an active member of Iwaku again, so I think this will be a good place to start. A little bit about me, I work full time for the government and am also going to college full-time as I work towards a degree in Criminal Justice. I have two cats, one is a foster baby, and the world's DUMBEST but CUTEST husky on this planet.

If you are an old member, what are your first fond memories of Iwaku? If you are brand new, what kind of things are you hoping for the future?
I have been a member since 2014, and officially feel pretty damn old despite only being 24. My first fond memory was when I got a reply from my first in-character post after joining a roleplay. It was such a thrill!

Almost everyone that shows up to Iwaku are ROLEPLAYERS! But is there something else you're passionate about and really love to do?

I absolutely LOVE playing D&D with every fiber of my being. If you ever want to talk about some dice bois, hit me up anytime! The love of my life and I are soon going to be starting a Starfinder game and I am so excited to begin. Other than d&d, I openly practice witchcraft and loooooove going out into nature to connect and look for herbs, as I am a green witch. Lastly, I play Animal Crossing almost religiously and nearly 300 hours in the game. I love playing with people and visiting, so I would love to play with people from here too!

The gods of roleplay have blessed you with the prophesy that your next roleplay with be your masterpiece and everything about it will be perfect. What setting and story do you choose? What is the thing that makes this roleplay your beloved masterpiece?

Oof... this is a hard one. I think some kind of medieval setting would be my go-to, but the thing that would make this perfect would be the other people in the roleplay. I haven't had much luck for years on this site and others with finding a group that regularly can respond and interact with each other, myself included in that. I think having a group that would be able to do this and interact with each other is what would make it a masterpiece.

Zombies are coming and there is nothing we can do about it. You find yourself in a rag-tag group of survivors. What role do you take up in the group to earn your keep and help each other survive?

Medic. Without a doubt I would want to be a medic. I took a full year of pre-nursing classes before switching to Criminal Justice (dead people are much more fun than the living, imo), three semesters of sports science and emergency first-aid, and know a lot about the human body in real life, so I think it would be a lot of fun to implement that in a zombie survival setting.

Finally, how do you find yourself socializing the most on Iwaku? Do you hang out in the discord? Do you like posting in gen chat? Do you only chat with potential partners in Private convos? Are you mostly just a lurker who hides in rocks and pounces out when something fun arises?

I use discord on the reg, but didn't know there was an Iwaku server until reading this question! I definitely will be joining, though I probably will lurk for a little bit until I feel comfortable enough to speak up. I hate interrupting conversations more than life, so I would probably wait until there was a lull in conversation to join. However, once I'm comfortable, I know I'll probably never shut up, post very frequently, and absolutely pounce on fun opportunities any chance I get.

Iwaku old here! I remembered living the openness of the community. Every other writing site I'd hung out on had a major "WE ARE *SERIOUS WRITERS (tm)*" vibe; people who weren't interested in writing the next Iliad got derided and it just generally wasn't fun. Then there was Iwaku, where writers of all motivations were welcome. I had so much fun writing and learning and eventually went on a real bender of creating my own content! Iwaku Kickstarted my love of writing about writing 💚

I have many passions! I CONTAIN MULTITUDES. nah but probably d&d. I'm a player and a DM and building my megadungeon is a lifelong project.

Oh God I have no idea it's been years since I RP'd and my creative writing classes were stressful as hell, I don't think I liked anything I made. @_@

So I guess my perfect RP would be one where I don't cringe at my own work?

It is well established that I am USELESS in an apocalypse. I'll sacrifice myself for the group.

I used to hang out in GC a lot, but it seems to have slowed down. I'll probably be more active in the discord.
