Masureta
~=========~-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------~=========~

After about a week or two after the "dispersion" of Io and the return of several people who had turned into gatekeepers for the body parts of the queen, Masureta had finally prepared to explore the outer world of the Gaol of the mist. She had actually learned that the mist was being used to keep creatures from attacking the humans and revenants within the Gaol, but she couldn't just leave others to die outside. She needed to see what was causing the danger, and she didn't want to drag anyone into it. The small golden blood bead that Io had given her had the ability to control the mist, and Reta was ready to open a doorway for herself. Once she had done so however, her friends appeared. Louis, Yakumo, and Mia had all gathered to go out with Reta, and wouldn't take no for an answer. It only took a few minutes to convince Reta thought she couldn't go out on her own.

Reta had only taken a few steps out of the gaol, ready for a new adventure when a green light had overtaken her. Her friends watched, dumbstruck as she seemed to disappear into thin air. "Reta?" Louis asked to the air. His voice had a hint of concern, and slight fear.

Reta never heard it however, as she lost all sense of gravity in a bright green tunnel. Up was down, and down was up. The world was silent for a few seconds, but that silence was soon broken by the crashing of waves and a rush of cold water. It was then that Reta came to realize that she was not a great swimmer as she barely was able to keep her head above the water. She swallowed bucket loads of water as the waves slowly moved her to shore, where others had gathered. One final wave picked her up and threw her onto the sand and into the safety of land. Reta wandered onto the beach, coughing up the heaps of water she had just taken in. It was there she saw other castaways. Reta signed the Japanese sign language for "who" but stopped there. There wasn't going to be a chance these people knew sign language, and one of them seemed to be wearing a blindfold. Another one had dressed up as a bat, and one of them had green skin. Reta thought she might've drank too much sea water after seeing the two oddities among the group. The person with the blindfold also seemed like she needed a guide, so Reta gently tapped her on the shoulder to hopefully get the message across that someone was there. Reta almost instinctively gave a thumbs up, but that wouldn't do much when the person being communicated to was blind.

"Al?Alec?!" Abby takes off her helmet and gives Alec a light shake. The panic is plain on her face as she frees him from the chair and lightly shakes him by the shoulders first, then checks his eyes, then checks his pulse with two fingers on his neck.

"He's alive! Someone get - " she yells to the others, about to have them get a stim or something to wake him.

But then she feels the tremors. Tremors getting closer by the second. She'd heard the heavy footsteps of a Deathclaw before. There'd been two in Quarry Junction bigger than the rest she'd only seen from afar. But to make the ground shake like this? The only thing to come close was the giant Roboscorpion shaking the Forbidden Zone when activated.

Quietly as possible, Abby lifts Alec out of the chair and drags him away from the big windows at the front of the vessel into the larger transport area. She makes a shushing motion to the others and motions for them to stick to the walls. The windows give them a view of the source first as a distorted form in the fog. Then clearer until Abby holds her breath and presses herself and Alec as far into the wall as possible. The inside of the ship is dark, and she hopes that helps them.

She'd heard others try and fail to open the back bay by hand with the console fried.

The only way out is through the front windows currently filled by a very large and very curious critter. The Death Pod has a rocket launcher that could break open the windows, and a flamethrower that could scare away this animal, but her Death Pod was still in storage. On the other end of the ship.

If only they could keep quiet and out of sight until this thing moves on of its own accord, they would be better off.

In the meantime Abby hugs Alec. Cheek to cheek.

As she hugged him, she would feel Alec's body move and flinch slightly, and his eyelids shook. is face contorted slightly, like he was having a nightmare, and began murmuring something under his breath. Slowly, but surely, the Scotsman was awakening. His eyelids flickered as he opened them, gaining his sense back, and moved his hands out of confusion for where he was. The first thing he could see was the face of the woman he loved, staring back with such worry, yet care for his wellbeing. Her eyes glistening from the light, just as beautiful as the first time he looked into them. She was a gorgeous woman, brave and caring, and he was happy to see she was alright........

"'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
He then shouted, jolting up from his position in panic. The crash was also still on his mind. He was quite loud, and in a metal box that was this ship, it echoed. The T-Rex that stalked around the sides bent its head down, hearing something was inside, and being the beast it was, wanted to find it. With its head, it pushed the left side of the ship a few times, jerking everyone around. When it could hear more things inside, it then pressed down on the top with its foot. The ceiling then began to slowly move down, far enough that it was touching everyone's heads. They needed a way out before they were crushed. Or worse. It got inside.

BEACH:

While the newbies discussed plans for what to do next, Zaheer's scouting mission in the sky draw the attention of other beasts that roamed it. As they talked, the faint figure of a bird would pass over them. As another minute would go by, two more would join in. Then another. And another. Until eventually, their shadows would be noticeable on the ground. As they got bigger once they began to slowly fly down towards the ground. They were just birds.

tumblr_ofpbnaWYHF1vwwm7ko4_400.gifv

They were dinosaur birds. Ornithocheirus.

And they were hungry.

1b1df3223c08696663c0a8125bccca92.jpg

One dove down, trying to bite off Zaheer's head first. Another then tried the same thing with Vivian and Batman. There were a dozen or so flying above, and more were coming. If anyone was still in the ocean, they'd also be joined by another dino, one much bigger than these birds.

CEFv0l.gif

It leaped out, trying to snatch the newly arrived Reta first, since she was the closest to the water.

Alec stirs in her arms then mumbles. Abby turns her eyes back to him after looking out the windows at the beast, who they can hear sniffing the ship. She's relieved Alec is conscious again.

Relieved until he opens his mouth and screams.

"SHIT! SHUT UP!" Abby yells at Alec and tackles him to the floor but is careful to hold him so his head doesn't hit the floor. The force of her body falling on his, with the added force of the dinosaur jostling the ship, should hopefully make him shut up. The jostling makes her helmet roll down from the front and in reach. She snatches it up and puts it on.

"Alec, everyone, hold onto something and try to cover your ears!" She yells to the others as she ducks under the collapsing ceiling to get to the storage lockers. Abby gets there, gets her Death Pod, and braces herself in a crouched position against the broken door as she levels the Pod. It's set to 'Rocket' and aimed at the front windows.

"FIRE IN THE HOLE!"

A rocket fires off from the Death Pod and into the front windows, which she hopes were damaged enough by the crash to buckle and break open from the force of the rocket.

Reta had not thought there to be any danger, but then came the sounds of prehistoric screeching from above. Winged terror rained down from the skies, attacking the people in the group. The group was out in the open on this beach, they needed to sprint into the woods.

Reta wasn't really able to fully pay attention to these birds however, hearing the water splash loudly behind her. A gigantic creature had emerged onto the beach and tried to chow down on Reta. Reta was able to dodge the bite mostly, but her leg had gotten caught in the creature's teeth.

Skin tore as she ripped her leg out of the creature's mouth while she escaped further onto the shore. The pain was unbearable as slivers of skin limply hung from her leg and blood trickled onto the sand. A few veins had detached themselves from her body, dragging along the ground. There were gigantic holes in her skin where the teeth had torn through it like a sheet of paper. If one looked closely they could see bits of bone through some of the gashes. Strangely she could still walk on the leg despite the copious amounts of crimson liquid leaking from it with each step. The white leggings she wearing were almost entirely torn off on that leg, and the bits that were left were now stained a deep red. It was evident on her face the amount of pain she was in as Reta was wincing while failing to hold back the pain. She gritted her teeth, trying to make her way to the woods. One hand tried to stabilize her leg, the other quickly pointed to the woods to indicate that the group should escape there. Once they were in the woods Reta would be able to take the time to heal her wounds.

The only one that probably wasn't indicated of this would be the blindfolded girl, which Reta tried to assist in dodging the prehistoric birds. She slightly leaned on the girl hoping that she could hold the weight as Reta ushered her towards the treeline.

Vivian Cain

Vivian Nodded in response to the one that spoke back to her, a male with a apparently calculating attitude as he didn't seem particularly phased by the whole scenario, and while she couldn't quite see what their appearances were underneath the makeshift blindfold, she found their descriptions most strange.

A... Bat man? Like a vampire? Discreetly lifting up her blindfold, her eyes flickered over the one named as such along with the 'small green one' and almost laughed for the first time in years at the insanity of it, but she quickly covered her eyes and hid her smirk. Definitely not a vampire, at least not a traditional one like herself, and the small one seemed to be a goblin based on her limited knowledge of them

Vivian suddenly felt another person show up , as well as something much larger behind them along with a number of heartbeats from above, yet before she thought to warn anyone about them, she suddenly found herself, being attacked by something from above, yet what startled her more was the sudden scent of blood.

Her mouth salivated, but she shook her head, the other person must've been wounded and seemed to be pushing her towards the tree line as they leaned on her. Glad for having drank before the spontaneous teleportation, Vivian, simply picked up her new partner, fortunate that the heavy clouds were blocking out the sun, and began sprinting towards the darkness of the trees with the woman in her hands, bridal-style, hopeful that the birds or whatever they were would steer clear of the cover of foliage.

She wasn't too worried as she weaved past the creatures that dared to attack her. They were fast, but few things could move or react faster than a vampire, although it didn't help that she couldn't see, the whistling of the air was more than enough.

"Are you okay?" she asked the one in her arms, feeling slightly nauseated by having to stay so close to a fresh blood source.

Batman
The Coast

The Batman momentarily stared as Zaheer made the proposal. The man's eyes narrowed slightly, but ultimately, the Batman relented with a simple nod, reaching into a belt compartment to withdraw a small metallic capsule. It was clear the Batman didn't trust him.

As he approached to free the man with the acid capsule, however, Batman dextrously leaped out of the path of a diving dinosaur bird. With no more time to spare, the superhero applied the acid capsule to Zaheer's handcuffs to free him, Batman drew a smoke bomb, ready to throw it down should the beasts make a second approach; obscuring their vision would allow Batman to pounce at one of them and hopefully take it down from its own back. Turn its own charge against it.

The coast | "A free man, at least for a while."

Staring at the two new arrivals Zaheer would first think that it would be difficult to survive in a strange world with someone who could barely see. However, that didn't mean he would allow them to stay behind, even in this strange world he was in search for personal redemption. The results of his actions even he was willing to give up everything only made everything worse. He was content with spending the rest of his life elevated above the ground but still shackled to it, permanently in the spirit world. But if this where he would start to make up for all his wrongs then so be it.

Unfortunately his time for internal contemplation of strife would be interrupted by the sudden attack of beasts that he had never seen anything before like, targeting the weak and unprepared members of the party.

What surprised him more as he did a backflip to dodge the flying dinosaur would be the abilities of the woman with bandages covering her eyes, speaking to her mid dodge in a strangely calm voice for someone who just narrowed death.

"Three things cannot long be hidden, the sun, the moon and the truth."

At that point the man would have used his chemicals to melt away the shackles, or at least split them both in half to give him a significantly better degree of movement.

His next actions would be the starting of forming a miniature air sphere out of heavy currents surrounding the party, to obscure them and to redirect the fly patterns of the pterodactyls.

"Get into the trees, they'll have a harder time flying through that."

Ziv growled, looking to Alec and Abby's as the former screamed. Dammit! They would've been fine if he could just keep his mouth shut. He gasped as the vessel was tipped, planting his foot to try and not fall. His grip on Nolan's flashlight released in favor of keeping them standing as they were jostled around. He was worried, this whole situation was bad.

He gave the other male a slight push on the shoulders when the roof began coming down, kneeling down to get away from it. This was really bad. He turned to Abby and nodded. The swordsmen took his sword- sheath and all -and hooked it through a small handle on the wall. "Get behind me." He told Nolan, one arm hooked around his sword from underneath. When Abby lit her little rocket, he hooked the other arm around his sword and covered his ears.

Hopefully this worked, because if it didn't they were screwed unless this beast tore the place open for them. If it did though, they'd have to race to get away from it and it… it might be a lot faster than them…

Reta had barely noticed that she had been picked up, momentarily having blacked out for several seconds. All Reta could feel was pain from her leg as it flowed through her entire body and rammed every physical sense with a sledgehammer. Reta's could feel something in the back of her head telling her to let her eyes roll upwards and to release the tension, but she resisted the urge. Reta instead focused on her breathing
In… out… in… out… in… out…
It at least had calmed her somewhat, but Reta could still barely keep her composure together as her face contorted in pain. The question that arose from the blindfolded girl was able to distract her at least. Reta couldn't exactly say that she was ok, and she couldn't give a shaky thumbs up either due to the girl being blindfolded. Reta patted the girl on the shoulder again, not realizing that she had blood on her hands. The girl's arms were comfy… no! She couldn't let her mind wander! Reta couldn't quite grasp control of her head, limply leaning back and letting it hang. Once they got into the woods she could heal her leg mostly and stop a good portion of the pain.

As she sprinted, she heard the calculating man's words reach her, and while her face didn't flicker, her stomach lurched. She was hiding something, but he wasn't supposed to be getting onto her case about it yet. In response she simply turned her head in his direction, stared at him briefly using her life sense, hoping he'd feel her eyes on him, then went back to the task at hand.

Vivian felt the woman she was carrying tap her on the back and took that as a sign they were okay. She hadn't heard them scream or cry out when they'd been hurt so she'd been thinking maybe they were unconscious, but it seemed they just weren't feeling like talking, or maybe couldn't.

She let go of the breath she'd been holding as they finally reached the tree line.

Laying the woman against one of the trees, she first pulled out a damp cigarette box, flicked out one of the little cylinders and realized she didn't have a lighter of any sort, letting out a pent-up growl as her attempt to quell the bloodlust failed.

Hissing, she set to work and ripped off her other sleeve and awkwardly made a tourniquet around the woman's leg, navigating through sense of touch, running her hand down their abdomen, upper thigh, knee, then finally finding where the wound was, as she tried to keep her thoughts off the gushing blood right before her. She then ripped off the hem of her shirt and began using that to apply pressure.

She grimly thought that she was going to need a new set of clothes at this rate.

Unsure what to do exactly, as the wound was much bigger than anything at a barfight she'd seen, Vivi bleakly hoped she could stall it out long enough for one of the others to come and help treat it somehow.

"Wait, what?" Alec was confused on what the hell was going on at this point, because somehow the roof of this damn ship was about to crush them, and he could hear and feel the thuds of something walking around outside the ship. Then he noticed she pulled out a rocket launcher. "NO!" He shouted, trying to reach out to stop her, but he was too late. The blast would send a shockwave through the ship, along with small pieces of glass flying their way and dense smoke filling the air. However, Abby's quick thinking worked, as the window was completely done, along with a small part of the cockpit, making a big enough hole for them all to escape.

The Rex roared out in fear, as the explosion scared it; making the beast back away from the ship, but only a couple feet. It watched the ship and where the explosion happened from behind, wondering if it would happen again. But in that moment of it distracted, they all had a chance to run. Coughing up a storm, Alec quickly jumped out the window, landing on his knees as he tried getting his breath back. When he turned to see what was crushing the ship, his eyes grew wide with shock and fear, and his mouth nearly dropped to the ground.

Even after all the bizarre creatures and monsters they faced in the last world. A T-Rex still scared the living shit out of him. Once it saw the group leaving, the Rex roared once again. A predatory roar, like a lion trying to scare off intruders on its land. Then, it started coming towards them.

Time to run. Fast.

The trees were big enough to protect them, but they needed a distraction so they weren't eaten by these things.

Nolan

Covered by Ziv, Nolan expected the roof of the ship to collapse onto them and that'd be the end of their tale. But Abby lifted her strange gun after grabbing it from the lockers, before something fired out of it and into the front of the room where the seats and controls where. Devastating the front of the cockpit.

The result was an exit for them, and a ear-ringing deafening for Nolan as he stumbled out of the ship with the others, disorientated as the sounds of everything was muffled beyond the ringing. Nolan landed clumsily next to Alec, turning to look back to see the giant lizard thing looking back at them. Even if Nolan could hear at the moment, he didn't need the extra encouragement to start running alongside Alec.

Ears still ringing, Nolan wasn't hindered by the gear he had as it was relatively light as he hauled ass in whatever direction Alec had chosen for their retreat.

Reta's focus momentarily came back into alignment when two birds began to swoop down towards her and the woman carrying her. The two prehistoric beasts' claws were ready for blood, and weren't going to take no for an answer. Reta shakily raised her hand, swiping it in a chopping motion in the path the two birds were headed. It looked like a whole had momentarily ripped into reality for several seconds as the two birds collided into it. Their bodies easily split in half, and their organs spewed across the beach's sand. That was probably the only ability reta could focus on without going unconscious, and even then it had given her trouble. Her head rolled backwards, limp again as Reta was carried into the woods.

The birds couldn't make it past the trees it seemed as they screeched out in annoyance. Reta was then promptly leaned up against a tree, barely noticing the fact she had been put on the ground. Every so often her head leaned to the side, only to have her jolt back awake. Something was touching her leg, along with some sort of growl. Maybe the woman who had been carrying her had been fighting off an animal? There was a gentleness to the thing that had touched her, but Reta was unable to really focus on what the thing actually was. It didn't matter, Reta needed to heal fast. Reta held her hand up limply as a ball of bright yellow energy formed in it. Once fully formed, Reta jammed it into her chest. The action made an audible few heartbeats, before the noise died down. The wounds on reta's body quickly began to heal as if time was being reversed. This method only worked partially though. The gigantic gash that went down to reta's bone was now a simple scratch, as if a lion had run its claw across Reta's limb. It still was a monstrous wound, but at least it wasn't as fatal or as debilitating as before. With how it was now, Reta would be able to stand on her leg, albeit, she would still have a slight limp as it was too painful to truly walk with it. Reta could actually stay conscious with this amount of pain, and Vivian's handiwork would be enough for this would. Reta let out a long sigh, the only real noise she had let out since the beginning of this ordeal. She then patted Vivian's shoulder, trying to usher her that they could keep moving.

Vivian Cain - Beach tree line > further in-land

Vivian was keeping watch with her life sense to make sure none of the birds made it through the tree line to them, not for their lack of trying, and realized that it was very clearly not safe where they were yet as it was only a matter of time until they reached the duo, and anyone else that had gotten as far as them, licking the blood off her hands guiltily with her back faced to her new partner, unable to resist the temptation any longer.

Unwilling to move further in-land for fear of losing the rest of the group, but not seeing a different path for them to take, Vivi watched as Reta made some strange light that briefly penetrated her blindfold, but didn't ask, her mind preoccupied with the new problem she now faced. "I don't know how bad your wound is, but it felt very large from when I was bandaging it up, but I don't suppose you can walk? I can carry you further if need be but.. Uh.. I might walk into a few trees." she asked, a little embarrassed with herself, and even a little ashamed at keeping up this charade, but she was adamant on continuing it, at least for her own safety until the time was right.

On the bright side of things, she was feeling much better now that she was in the shade of the trees and out of the sunlight. The clouds had done a good job of hiding it, but it'd still been weighing on her heavily.

In response the woman let out a sigh and touched her shoulder, which she would take as a sign to help her stand up and begin leading the way in-land, taking most of her weight while still not entirely carrying her, hoping they'd guide her away from any of the trees. The blindfold made things difficult as she could just about make out shapes, which made her glad for having the gift of sight.

Vivi wasn't too worried about the rest of the group, she'd be able to find them easily enough, or at least she hoped, but whether that was a good thing or a bad thing was beyond her, that man already seemed suspicious of her and they'd hardly met, she'd need to come up with excuses while she had the chance.

The helmet did a great job dampening all of the after-effects of using the Rocket function of the Death Pod; the worst she feels is the pressure wave and heat.

"I can't believe that worked!" She yells and joins the others jumping out of the front. Those boots are on the ground and still only for the seconds it takes for Abby to do a quick look around herself, but not behind, as since her experience tells her if the danger isn't immediately to your front or sides, it's coming from behind you and you need to run and not think. The Death Pod is set to Flamethrower.

"RUN! INTO THE TREES!" Abby slaps Alec on the back and pulls him into a full run. The armor she wore had come with a jetpack, but she'd left that behind as she had not the tiniest idea of how to use it. Hell there were functions of this set she hadn't learned to use yet besides the arm blades. Behind the helmet, Abby is wide-eyed and has flared nostrils as she runs and listens for the massive beast behind her. Damn thing was larger than even the largest Deathclaw she's seen from afar, and those legs could catch up to them if it had the endurance for a chase.

At least it looks too huge to jump like a Deathclaw. Thank God for small favors.

A memory flashes for her. And with that memory an idea to get this thing off their trail.

Abby skids to a stop, pivots on her heel to face the Rex. She raises her Death Pod, and waits. She should be the only standing target, easy prey. It has short arms and a huge set of jaws, meaning it would try to snap her up before doing anything else.

When it did lunge forth with jaws open, she would pull the trigger, and shoot a long jet of flame right into the soft flesh inside its mouth. This tactic, done with a Molotov Cocktail, had sent a charging Deathclaw running away in pain and to the nearest water source to put out the fire.

Yeah this thing was bigger, but unless it had an armored mouth for some reason, it was still vulnerable there.

Zaheer
The coast | "All war is based on deception."

Hoping that everyone in the group would be smart enough to run into the woods Zaheer would do just that as well, making sure to stay near the back to help any left footed member of their new found group into the woods with a gentle air current that would unceremoniously slam them into the woods wherever they liked it or not.

Once at the edge of the woods though he wouldn't continue running, instead looking up at the circling flying beasts above trying to find a way to dive them through the trees.

When one would think what would be the right course of action would to air bend themselves near the tree top. But the anarchist was doing it on purpose, sitting just tantalizingly close enough to tree tops to potentially bait any juveinelle predator who didn't have the experience to realise this was bait. Ziv winced, the sound of Abby's rocket bringing a deafening ring to his ears despite covering them. Thankfully he was able to shield Nolan, the glass that went flying didn't even so much as scratch him. With the way open he took his sword and followed after Nolan and the others. He didn't need to hear anything, he could still feel the tremors in the ground and the mass of energy behind them. They needed to move and fast.

Abby had Alec or he would've helped him up. He did, however, look back to see her stop and try to shoot the beast in the mouth. He stopped after a short distance to wait for her. If things took a turn he would step in to try helping.

Kassandra of Sparta
"Malakas!" The Spartan warrior curses when Alec breaks the silence and brings the wrath of the beast outside upon them. What was it using? Bare fists or some kind of club? Kassandra nocks an arrow and keeps herself low and looks to the windows at the front. If she charges her arrow with power from the Spear, she should be able to break at least one window for them to use as an escape.

A loud announcement from Abby lets her know the other woman has had the same idea, but looking over sees that the monstrosity of a weapon she'd brought along was being used.

Those two were just the right pair for each other.

Kassandra covers her ears with her arms. The explosion still hurts her ears and rattles her body. She uses the Spear to heal her ears and get moving through the smoke. Swift feet in sturdy boots touch down on the beach and kick up sand as she sprints for the nearby jungle. The way in front of herself is all she needs to know to act.

She turns her head to look back at the ship to get some idea of what she is running from. Earlier she had only a few glimpses.

What was this? Some forgotten child of Typhon and Echidna? The beast was mostly maw and muscle to propel that maw forward.

Yet she spies Abby standing her ground against this beast. She has her weapon trained, but would that be enough?

The Spartan blood in Kassandra compels her to skid to a stop, bring her bow up and ready an arrow in seemingly one motion. The power of the Spear of Leonidas courses through her, into her fingers and into the arrow that is trained on the enormous beast's torso as it moves. She waits for it to come within striking distance of Abby before letting it fly.

Abigail Delano/Courier Six- Character Sheet

The Rex took a moment to see the little things begin to run off, studying them. It could smell them. Food.

tenor (1).gif
It took chase, each stomp of its foot shaking the ground violently. With how tall it was, it didn't take long for it to immediately reach the suddenly stopping Abby, with only a moment to prepare to attack it before it opened its jaws wide, tilting its head to the side to snatch up her whole body in its mouth. Yet, suddenly, before it could, fire erupted all around its mouth. Its soft gums, skin and tongue were engulfed in such a burning sensation the beast had never felt before, pushing its head away from Abby as it roared once again in pain, with smoke blowing out in a big puff and billowing from between its teeth. With Kassandra's arrow, it managed to pierce through the dinosaur's skin, adding to its incredible pain, but it didn't penetrate deep enough to put it down. Instead, The Rex lost its footing as it tried changing direction from where Abby was standing, and from the shot of pain in its torse, it began to collapse; its whole body was about to fall on top of the Courier.

Alec, meanwhile, didn't even attempt to look back at what was happening, more focused on zigzagging between the trees to make sure the T-Rex, if it was still chasing him and Nolan, would run into them, or have to move around it, just try making it harder for it to snatch them both up. In their panicked run, they were both quickly lost within the fog, with Abby, Ziv and Kassandra quickly losing sight of them. When the Rex roared again with the sound of its body falling, Alec turned his head around to the side to see what happened. However, it was also lost to the fog, with its echoing roar the only indication of where it might be. Both men though would unfortunately run straight into a group of big fern bushes, and when passing through it, the flat land they were running across suddenly turned into a steep hill. Steep enough for them both to tumble down. "Abby?--" Was the last thing Alec shouted, before he then screamed out, "AHH!" As he took a nasty fall down the hill, while also unfortunately dragging Nolan down with him, as he tried grabbing the poor bastard to stop himself from falling. Didn't work.

giphy.gif

It last several seconds, but felt like forever, as the passing brush scratched across his face, and fallen branches from the trees and roots poking up from the ground smashed into his body hard. The worst part came when he didn't feel the ground anymore, and just wind blowing past his face, as he took a five foot drop onto a pile of rocks; landing on his hip and smacking his head into one that felt jagged. Alec couldn't even let out a groan from the pain, as he just couldn't breathe; the wind knocked out of him badly.

His injuries so far: Whiplash, a likely concussion, his chest feeling like a rib had cracked from when his body buckled from the crash, what felt like a broken hip, his face all scratched up from the plants he fell through, and while not a psychical injury, his self-pride felt hurt, as he could feel something wet in his pants. Thankfully, when he could finally look down at his legs once he could breathe again, he didn't soil himself. Just water passing across his lower body. He and Nolan had rolled into a shallow river.

After all they were going to need an animal carcass for food and other things.

Zaheer's baiting of the creatures wouldn't take long. Already one tried swopping in from behind to behead the airbender with his jaws. While up there, he could see the fog had dissipated slightly more as the wind blew stronger. Off in the north, he could see they weren't too far away from a small mountain, and if he looked just right, he could notice something off about some of the trees.

Between the orange trees and icy mountains, with the fog lowering further into the valley, he would see that between some of the trees, there looked to be a small building. Painted with camo to blend into the tree line, but with a keen eye, he would be able to spot it. It was a few clicks north, a couple hours walk if they didn't run into more dinos.

What separated them from getting to the orange trees, and what Vivi and Reta were currently walking into, was a swamp.

The two vampires would find the land grow soggy the more they trekked into the swamp, with their feet sinking into the mud with each step they took. The sounds of bugs chittered away all around them, while above the trees, the echoing sounds of the birds were still present., and across the water, they could see more dinos. Land creatures, using their hind legs to reach up into the trees to eat from its branches.

Chum Teeth

Chum could be brave. She could be fearless, even. But sometimes fear could be helpful. After all, that animal instinct to survive knew what it was on about sometimes. So when the screech of animals and a shriek of pain came from the beach, Chum abandoned her growing haul of lumber, jumped into the nearest bush, and readied her weapons.

Dark shadows flitted overhead, and the sounds of fighting could be heard, alongside the pattering of people sprinting into the cover of the trees. Nothing came for her. So, slowly, she snuck along through the brush, following the ladies. Had they been there before? The goblin wasn't sure. But the bandages on the one and blood on them both weren't good signs. Chum's conscience tried to get her to help the two, but her fear kept her hidden until the swamp's edge. Between a lack of cover and the realization that dirty swamp water wouldn't be good for the wound, Chum reluctantly stepped up.

"Hol' up, you two. Wading in there's a mistake. If the dirty water don't foul that wound, leeches'll be all over ya. We oughta... Iunno, make a better way 'cross. Maybe a raft?"
