In character room is The Endless Ball ChaRP when viewing the Chatbox. We are using Iwaku's official 18+ OOC box for our OOC discussions!
Once upon a time there was a Faerie King and he had many, many beautiful daughters. One by one he watched his daughters grow, fall in love, and flitter away with their betrothed. Soon all that was left was his youngest child, and through no charm or pleading would she marry. For you see, no fae, man, or beast could win her love because it was already given to a bright shining star in the sky. The star she watched twinkling night after night from her bedroom window was the only thing that touched her heart.
Years went by and the Faerie King was forced to watch his daughter wither away, forlorn over her unachievable love. When he could bear it no longer, he cast an enchantment over his daughter and the grand ballroom of the Faerie Court. Placing it in a pocket of space where time stands still and the celebration never ends. His wish is that one day his daughter's true soulmate will walk through the golden doors and she will return to the lands of the living.
The Grand Ballroom is a single ginormous room with a ceiling covered in sparkling stars. There are tall columns that circle the outer rims of the room and help to create open lounging & dining sections. Clear and stained glass windows peer in to a star and nebula landscape. Faerie servants are always there to provide food, drink, or even magical change of clothing should you desire it. Your wish is their command. At the head of the ballroom sits two thrones with two solid figures. The Faerie King, laden in gold looking out over the dance floor and the Faerie Princess cast in silver, with her eyes cast upwards at the starry ceiling.
Many guests have been in the Ballroom for ages. Some have chosen to stay, others lost track of time. Those newly arriving (or returning) come through the only doors in the ballroom; a heavy pair made of gold and etched with what appears to be memorable ballroom moments. Intrigue, romance and violence are all things that happen at the Endless Ball. Foreign lands have used the Ball to sign treaties and make connections. Duels between refused lovers is a common (and gambled upon) pastime.
The Ballroom is a social interaction roleplay, and an ongoing setting. It's purpose is allow your characters to socially interact with others. There are multiple plotlines created by different characters based on their reasoning to be at the Ballroom, or influenced by who they've met.
Do not play joke or troll characters, especially ones that break the setting and spirit of the Ballroom. We LOVE a little comedy, but will kick out a player who is being disruptive.
Be respectful of ALL players, regardless of playing skill or style. The Ballroom is meant to be friendly for newbie roleplayers and relaxed for veteran players. We DO have an Out of Character Box to make giving people help easier.
Like in Real Life, a character may not be able to acknowledge or notice your character immediately because they are engaged in doing something else. (For example a new character walking in to the room, but the other characters arguing about muffins and do not see them.) Don't get discouraged if you go can't get someone to interact with you right away. Just keep posting and doing actions with your character, or even approach others who also seem to be idle and it WILL happen.
Do not take events in the roleplay personally or assume that bad reactions are because they think you/your character sucks. Everyone is playing a character and reacting to things as their character would!
