Leon giggled slightly as they made it to the train station in time for the train to pull up, he took several deep breaths so that it didn't seem like he was panting. He thought he was in better shape then this, hell in battles he could last for a few hours before he even felt tired. Leon followed behind Taishi onto the train and then stood in front of him. He didn't really care to sit down, Leon wanted to be ready for anything. It may not seem like they were still in danger but truth was that Heartless could be anywhere and if they weren't fishing for a fight then their battle domain wouldn't be partially up yet. His ears wouldn't ring but Taishi's might and that would be hard to explain to on lookers. Leon wanted to hold Taishi just looking down at his happy face, it made him feel that much better about letting Taishi know some of his life and what would soon be his friend's whether he wanted to be or not now.

Taishi looked up at Leon, eyes wide but not scared, just curious.
"Siiiit?" He cooed, petting the empty spot beside him. He didn't just want to feel the comfort of having someone sit beside him but he wanted it to be only Leon, so he could lean on him - just in case he fell asleep or something. Though that was doubtful, because he wasn't tired, and it wasn't like it was a forever-trip to where they were going. The boy shifted a little in his seat, realizing when his tail started hurting that he'd sat on it. Pouting a little, he stroked it out where it hurt and then kept it by his leg whilst his ears stayed focused, listening out carefully even though he'd been the one to tell Leon to not worry. Taishi was concerned, of course, and there was no way he could deny that. They were going to get into a fight sometime this afternoon and he didn't know when, where or why, and those three facts alone were pretty scary, but the thought of going up against people he didn't even know or just the whole scenario was a little overwhelming. But for Leon's sake, he wasn't asking too many questions and was keeping himself as calm as he could. Thinking about the picnic was a far better thing to do and his suddenly-distance expression returned to it's former state of a happy-go-lucky grin as he looked at his friend again.

Part of Leon wanted to please Taishi and sit next to him but the other part wanted to be at the ready for Heartless. He wasn't actually sure what they were going to do but if they had made contact with Taishi they might even resort to violence to get him to fight them. Leon looked down at Taishi and watched him for a little bit, they were well on their way to the next town and figured that it was safe enough to let his guard down a little bit. Plus he didn't want Taishi to think that he was worrying so much. Leon finally gave in and sat down next to Taishi. He wrapped an arm around his shoulders and ruffled his hair a bit "This is nice" he said a bit absentminded and then dropped his hand to rest between their bodies. He hadn't intended to touch Taishi tail but it was so soft and he couldn't help it. Leon started to stroke his tail and let his eyes wander about the cabin of the train.

When his friend finally decided to join him on the seat, Taishi couldn't have looked happier. It was easier for him to act overly happy than it was to force himself to simply not look worried. It was strange, but he'd rather act happier than he really was because at least it would normally make the people around him happy too. The power of a smile was amazing sometimes. Feeling Leon's arm around him had made the blonde want to lean in and snuggle against his friend's side, but then Leon's hand began to stroke his tail and he had to lower his head so no one would be able to see the blush on his cheeks.

After a few long minutes of sitting there silently, Taishi silted his head until it came to rest on Leon's shoulder.
"Hi..." He grinned, acting like he was simply playing around even if he really did just want to sit there the rest of the day. His ears twitched a little, but that was of his own doing. So far he hadn't heard even the faintest sound of ringing, so it seemed like it was perfectly fine to relax and actually enjoy himself.

It was hard not to smile down at his friend, he was just to cute and his laughter was contagious that it almost made Leon start to laugh. But mostly he was getting excited for their alone time together, he was gonna see if they had that bond with each other. Leon still couldn't get over the fact that he felt so connected with Taishi though his other name had yet to show up. That was the only part that was making Leon unease about Taishi. He didn't want Taishi to be someone elses sacrifice, Leon wanted to have him all to himself but knew that if some other name showed up on Taishi he was going to be devastated but would have to let him go.
Leon tried to make it seem like he was thinking about happy thoughts as he looked down at Taishi "Hi" he said softly and moved his hand from Taishi's tail to place it back to around his shoulders pulling him close to him.

"Leon..." Taishi rested his head against Leon's shoulder so that he'd be able to talk in a quiet tone but his friend would still be able to hear, "Will it hurt when my name appears?" It was general curiosity, not concern, that was in his voice. He didn't mind pain, if it was like an ant bite or accidentally knocking a hand or foot against something hard, but for some reason he was imagining that when his name was to appear - if it did - that it would hurt like a burn or like someone would be cutting into his skin. He wanted to hear that it didn't hurt, so he could forget the pain that his mind was tricking him into feeling down his rib cage. It was creepy.

"Hm" Leon looked down at Taishi and he looked concerned about something but just a few moments ago he was acting like he was happy. He wasn't sure how to take the question, it had been so long ago when his name appeared that he couldn't really remember and no one that he knew in this life talked about it. Leon tried to think of the best thing to tell Taishi, whether it be the truth or what his friend wanted to hear. He turned his attention to the window in front of him to think a little bit longer and then he started to rub his hand on Taishi's arm "I don't know what to tell you Taishi. I don't really remember when mine appeared, all I can remember was that it appeared. I suppose there might be pain cause something would be changing about your body or it could be like someone took a pen and drew on you. I guess it depends on the person" that was the best way for him to explain it since he couldn't use his own experience "But I'm sure that when yours appears you aren't going to feel a thing. I mean like it says Tearless. Though if something does start hurting let me know..." Leon used his other hand to gently tip Taishi's face up to look at him "if anything hurts please let me know no matter what" then he kissed him on the forehead and dropped his hand to his side.

Listening to Leon's words didn't really ease the thought much, but when his face was lifted upwards and a kiss was placed to his forehead, Taishi still grinned, returning to his happy exterior that he'd had on since leaving the house.
"Don't worry, I will." Just not yet. He didn't want Leon to worry whilst they were meant to be out having fun; he could just ignore the pain for now - it wasn't all that bad, anyway. He stayed leaning against Leon until the train came to their stop.

Rising to his feet, Taishi continued to smile and act happy, having successfully managed to now fully ignore the pain and was just glad that his ears still hadn't begun to ring, which told him that at least Heartless would probably be the kind of team that would keep their word for "afternoon". That gave them a 4-5 hour window where they could be attacked before afternoon slipped into evening. It was certainly going to be an interesting day but Taishi promised himself not to worry about it until his ears started ringing and then he'd know the time had come. Taking Leon's hand, he pulled his friend out of the train and onto the platform.
"I've never been here before." He explained simply, looking around trying to find where they'd leave the subway to get to where they wanted to go.

Leon wasn't sure if his friend understood the necessity of telling him when he was in pain but if his friend looked happy he wasn't going to pressure into tell him. He was glad that they had finally made it to their destination and was sure that Heartless wouldn't travel this far to find him but some had been that stubborn enough to seek him out for days on end. Leon followed quickly with Taishi and then took the lead.

He lead Taishi town some stairs and then out a pair of double doors onto the street of the small city. From here they could walk anywhere and find a nice place to sit. "Alright so do you want to go to a park and have lunch or would you rather make our way to the beach and eat there and then play in the water. Today is warm enough that we shouldn't catch a cold" he said pulling Taishi close to him, these streets could get a little crowded and most people didn't care who were in their way and they would just push right through them. That and Leon wanted him a little closer to him because something still felt wrong with his friend.

Taishi was simply glad it wasn't raining here like it had been that morning back home. With his ears perked up as he listened to Leon's suggestions, the park sounded like the better of the two; he really didn't want to get wet again.
"The park." He announced happily, though there was a sudden look of surprise, and a little bit of pain, as Leon pulled him close. His friend's arm put enough pressure around him that the pain in his ribs resurfaced, but for now he still wasn't going to say anything; at least not until maybe they got to the park and Leon could have a look and see if maybe he'd been bitten by something, or something.

"Yep, park. Definitely. Tooo many people!" He whined, curling his tail around Leon's unintentionally but it would at least keep both of them from being tugged and ripped. Taishi stayed close but at the same time worked his way with Leon through the crowds of people until they were, mostly, free of them and could move around without being squashed and trampled. The moment that he could, without seeming too eager, Taishi took a step away from Leon so that he could breath properly.
"Leon... I uh... I think I might have gotten bit by something. Or maybe someone just knocked me maybe... My side kinda hurts." It was stinging like it had been when he first noticed it, but it was getting worse and he couldn't ignore it.

For a brief second Leon thought that he hurt Taishi when he felt him go ridged but as the crowd a people increased he let it go. Leon's eyes scanned the crowd for anyone that might stop them, he kept his ears trained on any noise that might indicate a battle but as they moved further away from the crowded streets he relaxed more. Leon didn't see that many people with ears like them and that resulted in them getting stared at but thankfully Leon lead Taishi around a corner and the park was in sight.

Leon glanced at Taishi wondering what he was talking about but the look on his friends face said it all. He released his friends side and decided to grab his hand instead, Leon lead Taishi over to a circle of trees so they wouldn't be disturbed and then turned to Taishi "When did it start hurting?" He asked softly and then gently pulled the side of Taishi's shirt up. He tried to hide his expression but it was hard, Leon's eyes went wide and his mouth partially dropped open. Taishi's side looked as though someone took a wood carver and started to carve out letters on Taishi's side. Leon cleared his throat and dropped Taishi's shirt. "Um...well looks like you are a...sacrifice. Though the letters aren't clear yet" he finally told his friend.

"Just before we got on the train, I think. It's been kinda itchy this morning but I just ignored it." Taishi murmured, trying to suppress the whimper of pain that was daring to escape his mouth. It hurt, and it hurt a lot. He froze though when Leon said he was a sacrifice. That was good, right? But then... Everything inside him started to panic as he worried about what it would mean for the rest of his life, for today, for Leon.

"Am... What...." Taishi frowned as he couldn't get his words straight and for a few brief moments he stayed as close to Leon as he could without actually hugging him and took a deep breath.
"What does it mean, if it's not finished yet? And... Am I yours?" His expression was contorted with pain but it was clear that he was eager to know. If he wasn't Leon's- he didn't want to be anyone else's! Momentarily ignoring everything including the pain, the smaller blonde wrapped his arms around Leon in the hug he'd avoided moments before. He was terrified, though he wasn't going to say so.

Leon wasn't exactly sure what to do at this point, in the next few minutes the name would be finished and they would know Taishi's name. But would Leon be happy if he saw his name on his friend or if it wasn't his name was he going to be disappointed? He still wasn't sure if he was relieved at the fact that someone he knew was part of his world finally but that little voice in his head kept telling him that Taishi was just too cute and small to be a sacrifice. Would his friend be able to hand the pain that came along with being a sacrifice? Could Taishi stand to see others die and sometimes be the cause of it? Leon's brain was so mix up at the moment with different thoughts and feelings that he almost missed Taishi hugging him.

He almost wrapped his arms around him tightly but then froze. Leon had to be gentle with him right now though he wasn't even sure how much pain the name of causing him. He couldn't really remember any pain from his name but made that was because of the name...Tearless, he hardly got emotional about anything now-a-days but when it came to Taishi he was the complete opposite. "It just means that we'll have to wait till the name finishes, about 5 or so minutes and then things will be clearer" Leon held Taishi gently but close enough that even he felt a little better. So today's outing was off to a rough start but as long as they are not dragging into a battle he knew it was going to be ok.

Taishi stayed dead silent until he felt the pain stop, and then frowned and stepped back to inspect his side. 'LESS' was all that was written. He stared at it blankly before he looked at Leon, head cocked to the side and an utterly confused look on his face.
"Serious? It stopped... And all it says is "less" ?!" He whined softly, having been both excited and scared to find out if the name would read out Tearless. He huffed softly, and pulled his shirt back down. He was relieved that the pain had stopped but incredibly annoyed that the name hadn't even bothered to finish appearing. So long as his ears didn't start ringing, he figured things would be ok for now.

Turning to look at Leon, he gave a one-shouldered shrug and took the other's hand and continued to walk over to the park. There were heaps of open spots but he felt that he needed a more secluded one where he wouldn't feel self-conscious about snuggling up to Leon - because in all honesty that's all he felt like doing. There was a nice secluded spot behind a wall that faced out onto a garden, so he decided that there would be good. Not talking the entire time until he sat down, Taishi then looked up at the sky and then down at the beds of flowers in front of them and then closed his eyes.
"Sorry that this happened today, Leon." He murmured, feeling like he'd spoilt the day so far.

So he had been wrong, this was something new to Leon. He never figured that a name would start itself and then just stop halfway through, or maybe that was Taishi's name. Was there such a person that was a universal sacrifice? Leon lightly shook his head, there couldn't be one. There were pairs, on sacrifice and one fighter, that's how it was. He sighed lightly and sat down with Taishi "I'm sure that it will finish soon" he told his friend hoping that he was going to be ok, if Leon could finish the name for him then he would. "No such thing. Today is about us and nothing can ruin that" Leon told Taishi and pulled his friend closer but made sure that he wasn't hurting him.

The rest of the day proceeded pleasantly, Leon was a little surprised that Heartless hadn't tracked them down. Or maybe they were still looking for them in town. Whatever the case Leon was just happy to have a good day, he got to spend it with Taishi, no worries, no school and above all no fights. He didn't want this day to end but as the sun started to set Leon knew that they had to get back. He slowly packed everything back up in the basket and turned to Taishi, he looked just as tired as Leon felt. "You should probably call your sister at some point before she starts to worry" Leon told him softly because he had just remembered that Taishi still lived with someone else unlike him who just had to call into work.

Once they'd actually started to sit down and talk and muck around, Taishi had relaxed and wasn't worrying about anything, and the pain in his side had disappeared not long after the writing had stopped. As the day leaked into the afternoon, he'd mostly forgotten about Heartless, having had too much fun with Leon. He tilted his head back from where he sat to look at Leon when the other spoke.
"It's alright. She'll probably be home later than me anyway." He slowly got to his feet, stretching with a grin on his face.

However, surprise, surprise, the boy froze mid-stretch, eyes going a little wide as his ears immediately flattened against his head and he dropped down onto his knees.
"Aggnnnn..... Leon... They found us." He whimpered, gritting his teeth together as he clenched his jaw, trying to focus on ignoring the ringing so it wouldn't hurt as much and he could actually stand up again, but it was stronger than he'd felt the first time and it was harder to ignore. For something so piercing against young sensitive ears, it was more painful than cutting ones self with a knife or such.
