Gotta love a good cane sword. Yes, I know it's a staff and not technically a cane, but bah.

Considering there is an Arcane Academy located near the Malik's keep, having more mages is very plausible.

He will learn more magic as the story progresses, I'll introduce him later. Keep in mind all stated channeling times are with his staff rather than sword.

I'll post as Virgil once @Raitoningu does

Hey shen, got a template for your characters? I'll try and write Vir and Nixie in tonight.

Test post.

Test.

Test.

edit: this forum is amazing, the text doesn't format to one row!! SO BENE!!

Well there is a bio template in post one. Also, I know Shen, this RP will always be open to new people. Always.

Always.

Okay! Try this, Shen.

Name: Vir'Reggis
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Race: Human / Drakkin
Alias/Titles: " King of Flames", "The Drakkin King of Miestra", "The beast of the Faye woods"

Birthplace: The village of Miestra.

Vir was born to a human woman named Jeanne Rivers and a Drakkin father, Kry'Reggis of the Reggis clan in Mystvale. Due to the forbidden nature of their love, the Drakkin lord has forbidden both son and mother from the realm and they reside within the woman's humble fishing village. The village is surrounded by a magical fae forrest filled with fair folk stemming from wisps and even faeries, which prevents marauders from assaulting the village at times, it is adjascent to the rivers linking to the Mariana Sea, said to house the Mariana Mer folk's kingdom and home to a remarkable priestess mermaid.

Appearance:
- Hair: Kept to a buzzcut or 1 inch, but is brunette with a brown tint.
- Eyes: Red slits when in humanoid or Drakkin form and with black markings around it.
- Height/Weight: 6'0" tall and 90kgs.
- Skin: Vir is tanned with a slight brown .
- Build: Vir has kept up quite a buffed physique, and shows signs of training. He constantly keeps a consistent physique that goes with his monstrous appetite due to the stress of switching between Drakkin and human form.
- Attire: Vir often travels with a long armoured green set of armoured pants and boots made of leather with a white undershirt or a long shirt, often accompanied with him is his mystical armour called the "Iron Mountain King", an armour that is worn by a being of great strength or known regalia. It often regresses to just his pants, leaving his shirt exposed but it can be reformed into a full warrior's armour.
- Noteworthy Features: He has a scowl that can terrify the ill informed of his background, but is actually very nice when you get to know him and a grin.
- Photograph: N/A
Weapon(s): Vir's weapon of choice is a broadsword crafted by the villagers that he took residence as well as the armour's braces, which can become a set of bracers called upon him.

Sword: Firebreaker, a near wondrous sword forged from Miestra village that is a haliberd and capable of housing Vir's flame magic. It can be weilded by the half breed with ease but weighs heavily by normal human hands. It synergizes well with other forms of magic, but the flames of the drakkin makes it into a formidable weapon of destruction when called to its owner.

Armor: The Iron Mountain King, a magical armour obtained in one of his battles that was said to only be worn of royalty or a warrior of renowned strength. The armour is quite sturdy and can be magically repaired after a long period of time, and is not able to be repaired on the fly. Even it can be regrown from a piece of chunk left in its wake, its sturdiness is almost told in legend where it could withstand 1000 blades and even cannon ball fire. Sufficient magic is what disrupts its sturdiness, and it is noted to be one of the few weaknesses of the magical armour. Its notable feature is its ability to change its shape to the user's desire, in Vir's case, the ability to shift into a well tailored armoured pair of pants and shin guards when not in battle.

Magic:
Vir's mastery of fire magic is well known in the Fayewoods of Miestra, known to conjure standard breathing and to cloak himself in Fire veil. His mastery of red and green flames is said to desolate marauders and pirates over the years of his stay in the woods and forest, where he is often heralded as the King of Flames in the region. The downside to this is his development of the ethereal blue flame, a technique that must be well trained in order to maximize its use, and often cripples his capabilities as a warrior. His red flames include conjuring fire creatures to aide him in battle or enhancing his attacks with flames in either humanoid and drakkin form. Green flames enhances his defenses and is mainly used as armour in his Drakkin form.

Though biologically related, he has the power to shift between his human form, assume a humanoid drakkin form with reddish brown scales and his true Drakkin form, a large winged beast with Red scales and a long tail that is as large as a house. He has no other formal training in magic other than handling green and red flame magic harkening back to his Drakkin people.

History:

Vir was birthed by Jeanne Rivers, former Captain of the Guard in Runesong and Drakkin Royale Lord Kry'Reggis. Forced to abandon his son and beloved, the Lord was regretful of this decision and had her sent to her hometown. Due to the stress of birthing a half Drakkin, Jeanne was no longer able to support the village through the Runesong military might, having been forced to retire as an instructor for the barracks but the village lived on.

Vir was treated ill by the children of Miestra, due to his half Drakkin image and the fact that the elders blamed his birth as a foreboding disaster. He sought refuge in the sea, and with his grandfather, who loved him unconditionally, taught him the basics of fishing and his uncle, who taught him combat having served with his mother in the regiment.

In his younger days, Vir has encounters with the merfolk along with his grandfather. Their relationship with humans at best is mixed unlike most other sea kingdoms who kept to themselves, eventually encountering a curious young mermaid named Nixie who was caught by pirates. The two connected despite their difference, eventually leading to a deepened friendship that closed briefly before she vanished to enter priestess training. Fate would have both meet again years later while the young Drakkin reached his teens, he and his uncle ventured out into the world to be further educated upon leaving Miestra. His uncle would return back, leaving Vir to fend for himself but the half breed often wrote to both his family in Miestra and his mother.
Vir eventually saught training with an old Drakkin sage from the north, who imparted him the ancient skills to be used by Drakkins in their humanoid form and to control flames capable of devastating human armies and elves alike. It was here that the sage had also imparted Vir's destiny to face his father's clan and told of a prophecy that would shape him to be Mystvale's finest clan leaders in millenia, with his training complete and a parting gift of an old magical Drakkin armour called "The Iron Mountain King" one of the greater treasures of Mystvale, parting well with the Sage, Vir returned to Miestra.

It was here that the village was under attack by pirates of the Southern seas, claiming the land to be another port for their malevolent activities. With little support from Runesong, the village was dangerously out of luck until the young Drakkin's arrival. Using the training he learned from one of Mystvale's wisest Drakkin Sages, Vir destroyed whatever pirate festered in his home and defeating a high prized bounty in their captain. Vir was heralded as a hero by the village after this event and spent the next few years as the villages protector, as well as the faye woods, who have come to acknowledge the young growing Drakkin's power and bestowed the "Drakkin King of Miestra" title unto Vir due to his immense power and support of the village and forest alone.
Once clear of threats, Vir often dedicated himself to the forest's protection. Gaining friends in the form of wisps and spirits alike, upon which one fateful day, where his destiny's course takes charge in the form of an old friend.

Name: Nixie Freyja Orcinus
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Race: Mermaid
Alias/Titles: " Priestess of The Mariana Kingdom"
Birthplace: Mariana Kingdom of the Southern Sea.

One of the largest Sea Kingdoms of the World, home to the Grand King of Mariana and houses various mer cultures as well as sea creatures of renowned power and terror, often said to be the breeding stables of the ferocious Great Black Shark, as they were heralded as the Guardian animal of Naminia, The Ocean Goddess whom Nixie hails. They are the most laid back mer folk and one of the few kingdoms who mingles with land dwellers, choosing to bear children with them at times as well in contrast to other Kingdoms who prefers to dwell in secrecy.

Appearance;

- Hair: Long red hair, kept to a shoulder length bob while keeps two long sets into two pig tail-like strands from the shoulder length below .
- Eyes: Green with a pair eye glasses.
- Height/Weight: 5'4" tall. Weight is a secret kept by her at all times.
- Skin: Pearly white skin.
- Build: Nixie is a petite mermaid, with a very thin neck and magnificent beauty prominent with most female merfolk .
- Attire: Nixie sports an elegantly dressed bra for her status as a priestess and an ornamentaly dressed front pair of cloths that line her hips and her tail in mer form.

- Noteworthy Features: She has a tiny fang poking from her left lip at times, revealed to be one of the sharper features of her teeth, due to her typing associated with sharp teethed merfolk.

- Photograph: N/A

Weapon(s): Naminia's Tear, a holy staff given to a priestess of renowned power and shaped into a blue steel rod as well as a sun-like tear attached. She also carries a set of shards that contains mer magic and spells that could be used against land folk, due to a mastery of her transformation spells.

Armor: N/A

Magic: Nixie, being a priestess to her local deity, possesses high magic of the mer folk. She can cast an infinite amount of water spells due to her high association with the water goddess Naminia. Her spells can range between keeping her afloat on land while retaining her mer form or when blending with public, allows her to assume a human form with legs, a standard spell for most mer folk wanting to explore land. Her water spells may be almost infinite, but it drains her stamina when used in consecutive times, her other weakness is summoning magic, able to summon unknown creatures associated with her deity to even the forbidden beasts but the latter leaves her exhausted to the point of unconsciousness and thus is often reserved as a means of desperate counter attacking.

Nixie is able to cast spells on land dwelling folk, ranging from transformation spells to spells that enhance their abilities. It is her often her form of punishment to unruly pirates who tread her territory, however she needs to make eye contact while casting in order for the spell to stick, alternatively she needs to make contact with Naminia's Tear, her staff, if she is unable to make eye contact.

Others Abilities:

Nixie, as per most merfolk, is a capable songstress who can whoo male creatures with her voice and can soothe hostilities with just a song. She prefers to keep these to herself, as she partially enjoys violent scuffles in contrast to her other fellow mer folk.

Per her upbringing, the mermaid is attuned with the Sea Goddess Naminia and is often gifted with Seer-like abilities. These abilities are further only activiated or synergized with water.

History:

Born to a Soldier Fishman and a Mermaid associated with their religious sect, Nixie was the youngest of 12 pods in the family with 5 male fishmen/mermen brothers and 7 sister mermaids including herself. She is very treasured by her sisters and parents for her beauty and wondrous colours of red and green, while her brothers often kept her safe, a trait which she heavily despises. From her childhood, Nixie was curious and often capable of scuffling with folk that got into her bad side.

She would often disobey her parents and the mer law and wander unnoticed to the surface, leading her to witness pirate attrocities in her neighbouring region, which fueled her desire to become strong. Another venture to the surface wounded up in a fishing village housing a half breed that had Dragon blood in him, or as rumours say, of demons. Her curiousity led her to be caught by an old man and his grandson, revealed to be the half breed that she wanted to look up close.

The two became fast friends after a display of fire breathing tricks and her teaching him to swim. Weeks turned into months as the two ventured together and how she had come to learn some customary ways of the land dwellers through him. Eventually, she was caught by patrol guards as she ventured out into land to meet her half breed friend and was forced to say good bye to him. Thrown back to the sea, Nixie was scolded by her family for venturing out to the surface and land in secret and as punishment, she was press ganged by her mother into Priestess training despite the young mermaid's protest to be with her older sister and brother in the Royal Guard.

Nixie was whisked away by the elders to be trained and remained with them till adulthood. During her times there, she often rebelled and questioned her place amongst them, as it was not her nature to be a pacifist. The Elder Mermaid, decided to take the stubborn Nixie under her wing to teach the young one of humility and how she can use this means to reach her desired road in life. Here, Nixie revealed her desire to meet with the half breed again, as well as venture with him into the lands beyond where Merfolk dare not tread. She disliked being held down against her will by family in such a way, which resulted in the elder and Nixie's relationship becoming even firm due to the understanding of the rebellious young one. Nixie's training remained and under the elder, was all the more accepting than initially where she rebelled against their customs.

Nixie eventually reached adulthood, and mastered most of the spells and ettiquette of her training and was granted her privilege to venture and attune herself with the sea and beyond. Bidding farewell to the aging elder and the tribe, Nixie returned to her family who accepted her back. After that night, she began her journey at the blessing of her family to further understand the sea. The journey took her back to the rivers of the Miestra woods, which would become her place of solitude for the next few days. The various faye folk, having known of merkind, accepted Nixie as she began to practice her seer-like abilities under Naminia's teachings further.

Fate would have her reunite with her half breed friend once more, when one of her fae friends was taken captive by pirates and forced the priestess to venture unto land from her riverside for the very first time.

If you've a bio to work with, I'll find a place for you.

For the time being, Izzy, there are a LOT of people in Mitula's little shop. Might want to hold off on visiting her, if you plan on doing so. Once Raiton and Soul make their posts, I'll get things rolling.

Well we'll visit mama Jeanne while we beat some pirates in our village first .

But pirates are too awesome to lose! I love pirates!

Not evil mofos who kidnap mermaids they ain't! Anyhow can I write liek?

Edit: Shen is the Drakkin and Mermaid approved? O.O I'm aching to get back to this wonderful world. Arcane Machina will be up and running later.

OK!
I have broken down and decided to enter this dance!
I'm a glorious bastard so I will be using GoogleDocs to give you my character!

I ended up rewriting her completely, recycling the good parts of a bad character into this one, hence her powers is something you might recognize, Shen.

Enter the first of possible several characters; Elae Loren.
Please note that her personality is prone to change, and a lot of detail might be added but this is at least the idea I'm going for.

Vir and Nixie are in as well.
Yeah, I used her once and sort of let her dust away. She was never developed enough and the way I made her... was too slutty... Something I really don't like to RP as anyway. So a remake was in order! ^^

Woo!
She will be following the rumor of Mitula the seer, but might not arrive just yet ^^;

EDIT:
Also, Shenface. The picture you're linking Runesong to in the main info-post, points to a deactivated Deviantart profile. ^^

Just to give a little bit of a better idea of how she looks.

Magic: Ability to summon, control and manipulate fire and electrons, the later more often then not taking the form of electricity.

Drawback to using powers, needs to drink alcohol two to three minutes after using powers. Also the amount she drinks or what she drinks relates to how much of her powers she uses and how she uses them. Example a fireball would require a sip of something light like beer. Where as say maybe summoning a fire tornado or lightning storm would require a flask of whisky.

History: Giving the synopsis version.

Grew up in a family that trained Priest/Priestess/Shrine Maidens, that were also part of a larger group. The first born son and daughter who take on the head roles for taking care of the shrine that that family was responsible for and any further children would take on assistance roles. To help them in their duties they were trained in the ways of magic. This training had various purposes from combat uses to healing uses. The healing was left mostly to the assistance while combat was taught to the heads for more use in exorcism. It was during one such exorcism that something went wrong and Agi ended up being partially possessed by a demon, though eventually cleansed she did not come out of it unscathed. That is to say she took on a slight trait from it and was adversely affected from it. Whenever she started to use higher levels of her magic demonic angelic looking wings would sprout from her back signifying her taint, as well as now her curse. She had to start drinking after using her powers. Failure to consume any alcoholic beverage would have her slip into a psychotic state where she would lose a sense of self. In this state her mood would then reflect what type of powers she would use, if she wanted to end something quickly she would take on a more pyro nature and use her flame abilities. If she was in a more playful mood and then "let's play" mentality with her enemies she would use her electrical powers.

I'm going to talk to Shen about introducing our antagonists, since we have none...

Looks like we're passing over the other guy so I'll make a post tonight.

I'm still in the process of making you a new image so you don't have to borrow that one, but yes. Agi is good to go.

Are you guys still taking apps here? And if so, what's your stance on undead as player characters? I was hoping to shoot for a skeletal nobleman kinda deal, since it's the concept that's freshest in my mind, but I understand if it's not acceptable and I've got a few other guys in mind if that's the case.

That not only sounds like an interesting concept, but it's plausible considering the magic nature of the world we're playing in. Necromancy may be frowned upon in Runesong, yet that doesn't mean it's not a practiced art. I'm interested to see how you/your character would be able to adapt the living society.

Bring him over. I wanna see. :D
