VERONICA
After so long, Veronica wa pretty excited to be back at her boarding school. Not many kids could say that seeing as how many kids hated boarding school. But Sir Halcyon's was no ordinary boarding school and it certainly wasn't for ordinary teenagers like herself. No, this was a school for elementals. For those that had control over magic and used it to perfect control over one of the four elements. This was a school that she was meant to belong in despite her normal lineage.
It was something usually frowned upon at the school and since she was a kid she got bullied for it. Naturally, that never stopped her from being the best when it came to Earth magic and anyone that tried to mess with her usually ended up with roots in between their teeth. It wasn't a pretty sight either to watch them have weeds coming out of their noses. Yes, Veronica mastered her elements quite well, even if she had loads more to perfect, especially since often, her magic reflected her emotions.
The colourful haired firl decided that she had loads of time to work on it. For now, since she was back, she was excited to be meeting all her old friends and even looking forward to making new ones of her own. Being here certainly beat being at home with her drunken foster father and having to stay there without her foster brother around since he was the one working to feed the family. Besides, home reminded her too much of her ex boyfriend. The normal one that had... Well, she didn't want to get into detail about it and any time the thought of him came, she shut it out and tried to focus on what she was doing, which was her magic. Anyone that tried anything like that on her now would pay for it sevenfold.
With a skip in her step, the vibrant female made her way to the auditorium where some orientation was supposed to take place. The area was full of students already, juniors and seniors alike, and so she meandered through the crowd, wondering who she'd meet and make friends with on her first day back for a new year.

ANDERS
Anders couldn't have been more happy to be back at Sir Halsyon's. He had reached much earlier than most of the other students, in fact. It had only been because he had fought with his dad yet again. No surprise then. Ever since he had chosen to specialise in Air magic, his father had looked at him like he was a disgrace, even if he was the smartest one in the family. Whenever he fought with someone, he had a tendency to run away. It wasn't a good habit but it was called a habit for a reason. He couldn't shale it and so he had come to school a couple of hours earlier than he was supposed to.
His older sister was meant to drop him off - she was the only one in the family that was close to accepting of his choice. His older brother was too devoted to their father and his money to make have a different mind set. But because of the fight, Anders hadn't said goodbye to anyone. His babs had been packed the previous night, so he just grabbed them and took the train without a word. His family wouldn't be worried. They would know where he went. There wasn't anywhere else to go after all.
He had spent the morning arranging his room, wondering who his new roommate would be. The previous uear it had been a water wielder and he had befriended him quite fast. He was hoping that he would get the same roommate again, if not someone just as fun to hang out with. Anders was a little hard toget along with at first but once he got close to someone, he could ope up and be a complete dork that seemed to be quite untameable.
For now though, seeing as it was the first day back and he had finished unpacking, he wanted to go to the orientation and see all the freshers, as well as all of his old classmates and if any new ones had joined. Sir Halcyon's was always full of life but Anders always found himself with a book in his hand, just in case he found nobody familiar. He could just sit down and read The Iliad by himself on a bench. Before he would resort to that though, he had to make an effort, so as soon as he stepped into the auditorium full of students, he looked around and started to make small talk here and there with anyone that seemed familiar.
