HUMANITY FOUNDATION LEVEL: EX

Welcome to Shrouded Heir of the Seven Hills: Constantinople!

————————

The deadline is closing in on Humanity, and the Human Order Foundation is still unstable. The Chaldea Security Organization is deploying to the seventh Singularity - Absolute Frontline in the War Against the Demonic Beasts: Babylonia - with the hope of entirely fixing the Greater History of Man. It's the last Singularity detected, after all. Demon God Flauros - Lev Lainur - laughs from the grave. It wasn't hard to hide an eighth Singularity entirely from Chaldea's sensors - he did have direct access to Global Environment Model CHALDEAS and Near-Future Observation Lens SHEBA, after all.

All is not lost, however. Just as in the previous Singularities, Humanity as a whole can assist. The Counter Force has deployed more Servants than ever before into the Singularity. Good, evil, doesn't matter. The Singularity must be resolved by any means necessary, or the destruction of Humanity is an absolute.

An indefinite reality like a Singularity, cut off from the Greater History of Man, is like a shadowy legend even to the Counter Force itself. The information the Counter Force can provide is scarce. But this is known: the date is 545 of the Common Era. Khosrau "the Immortal Soul," is Shahanshah of Persia. Justinian I is Emperor of Rome - of Greece, really. Constantiople stands as a wall, letting the mighty armies of Persia go no further. And further they have gone - to the soft, blue shores of the Bosphorus. And like a shadow in the night stalks the Plague, in an Egypt ascendant once again. A misplaced breath, and Western Civilization will shatter, and the hopes of man will pass into night.

————————

In this RP, the characters are all "Servants" - ancient (or not so ancient) heroes with mighty abilities. They can be basically anything; real individuals from history, mythological heroes, even characters from stories. If you've got an idea and you're not sure if it will work, just ask! Canonical servants are also perfectly fine, though some won't work (because they're too powerful, which is to say, Archer/Caster Gilgamesh). Below is a character sheet.

Some notes:
"Class" refers to one of Seven Classes (or EXTRA classes; if you'd like to play one, please ask): Saber, a master of swords; Archer, a hero skilled with bow and arrow; Lancer, a spear master; Rider, a hero defined by their steed (alive or mechanical); Caster, a master of Magecraft; Assassin, a master killer; or Berserker, a hero defined by rage.
Stats and Skills are ranked from E to EX ranks, with +/- for when they vary in certain edge cases. Generally, you should have about one stat of each rank A to E, with EX only when a character is defined by that stat. For skills, it really doesn't matter. Class skills are listed below. If you make up a skill - which you should do - describe it; if the skill already exists, a description is unneeded.
"Luck" is the ability of a character to defy destiny. Basically, if somebody led the hero around by the nose, particularly a god or "fate," they'll have a low Luck stat. If somebody rebelled against destiny, they tend to have a high one.
The "Noble Phantasm" is the core of somebody's legend in a physical form - eg. Excalibur for King Arthur.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Name: Rho Aias
Title/Alternative Reading: The Seven Rings that Cover the Fiery Heavens
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-Fortress (Self)
Description: The great shield of Ajax, made of seven bull hides covered in bronze. Manifests as seven great shields, capped with the seven-petaled purple flower that grew at the place of her suicide. Boasts a near-absolute defense against thrown weapons.

Background: A proud warrior and royal of the island of Salamis, eldest daughter and heir of King Telamon. According to legend, she was the greatest hero of the Greeks at Troy after Achilles. Her massive shield was made of seven layers of hide of a bull, with a covering of bronze, which she used to great effect in slaying many Trojan heroes, and fighting Hector to a standstill. When Achilles died, Ajax desired to take up his armor, as it was magically forged by Hephaestus. Odysseus, however, was far more eloquent, and was awarded the armor. Possessed by fury, Ajax attempted to slay those who had awarded the armor, but Athena sent an illusion to her, causing her to instead slay crowds of sheep. When her fury faded and she realized what she had done, the shame overcame her, and she committed suicide.

Interestingly, I think that Caster concept is about the complete opposite of what I came up with.

True Name: Françoise Prelati
Class: Caster
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Appearance:
A young woman with crimson eyes and near-white hair, presumably caused by extensive use of Magecraft. Her height and weight are 162 cm and 48 kg, respectively. She gives off a devout impression.

Stats
Strength:
E
Endurance: D
Agility: C
Magical Energy: A
Luck: B

Class Skills:
Item Construction B:
Caster primarily utilizes the Church's Thaumaturgical Theory to construct Holy Sacraments, such as Keys of Providence or Holy Shrouds. However, she can also manufacture standard Mystic Codes.

Territory Creation B: She's proficient in the creation of Workshops and Bounded Fields.

Personal Skills:
Illusionism A:
A Thaumaturgical Discipline that involves manipulation of the psyche, as well as the projection of thoughts into reality via Magecraft. At this rank, it's possible to implant artificial memories and conjure scenes on the level of a small village. These effects can be mitigated by Magic Resistance or skills that defend against mental interference.

Spiritual Doctor C: An unconventional form of healing Magecraft that acts solely through a non-physical medium, i.e. repairing the spirit instead of the flesh. Though her abilities in this field are rather average, it's considerably effective on those with spiritual bodies, such as Servants.

Agent of the Church B: Combat techniques passed down through the Holy Church, which specializes in eradicating heresy. Caster displays expertise comparable to a skilled Executor, allowing her to temporarily clash against other Servants while using Reinforcement to make up for her low physical parameters. She's also well-versed in Exorcism Rites.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Name:
Grand Illusion
Title/Alternative Reading: Cleric of the Nightmare Sea
Rank: B
Type: Anti-World
Description: Tales of Prelati's supposed depravity and guile, sublimated as a Noble Phantasm. During her life, she convinced hundreds of nobles and clergy to fund or actively participate in blasphemous rituals, which sought to materialize something that shouldn't exist according to Christianity. Many individuals later claimed that she had used witchcraft to distort their fundamental perception of reality.

An illusion that flawlessly overwrites the environment to deceive the very Texture of the World, allowing her to project false landscapes and hallucinations on the scale of a Reality Marble. However, it's still mere fiction in the end, and can't inflict any real damage to Servants.

"O' saint and knight who showed me a different madness, neither of you were mistaken. I make an offering; to all humanity, permitted by this broken world, I offer the sacrifice that is me!"

Name: Prelati's Spellbook
Title/Alternative Reading: Textbook of the Sunken Spiral Castle
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-Army
Description: A demonic grimoire bound in perpetually damp human skin. It functions as a summoning terminal linked to the aquatic depths of another dimension, allowing its user to call upon an army of eldritch Horrors. While their fighting strength generally isn't a major threat to Servants, they make up for it with overwhelming numbers, serving as expendable fodder similar to Dragon Tooth Warriors.

The Spellbook itself is actually a living entity, possessing its own immense reserves of Magical Energy and the ability to regenerate from harm. By drawing out its full power, Caster can summon a Gigantic Horror the size of a building, which continues to devour and grow until eventually collapsing under its own weight. This ritual takes a substantial amount of time to prepare, and is quite noticeable once underway.

As the grimoire's original owner, Prelati doesn't need blood sacrifices to begin the summoning process, instead using her own Magical Energy to lure and control the creatures. However, if their connection to the Spellbook is severed for even a moment, all existing Horrors will immediately dissolve into black sludge.

"Is it time for Mass? Very well. Assemble, my congregation, and we shall sing our praises to the Lord."

Personality: Under most circumstances, Caster is a rather quiet, scholarly individual who dislikes combat. As expected of a cleric, she maintains absolute faith in God, and could be considered charismatic in the sense that she's able to speak with perfect conviction - making her words sound like the truth, even in cases where they're only her personal interpretation.

However, due to her pragmatic mentality as a magus, she's not nearly as reserved or benign as she might appear. Prelati believes that Magic Circuits are essentially a blessing from God; the right to recreate miracles found in the divine sacrament. Indeed, her understanding of God is simply 'that which resides in the Root.' Consequently, she regards the art of Magecraft as something sacred - the sole route by which humans can approach the realm of divinity. To her, there's nothing heretical in pursuing Magecraft to the utmost limit, even if that means performing evil acts like sacrificing condemned prisoners, summoning monsters, or scheming against the Church itself.

In short, anything is acceptable as long as she can reach the Root.

Religion aside, she enjoys collecting stories from distant lands, as someone who rarely left Europe during her lifetime. Caster has a surprisingly strong tolerance for alcohol, which she attributes to being forced to finish the leftover sacramental wine after every Mass. Her sense of aesthetics is hopelessly skewed in favor of exotic sea creatures (squid, sea cucumbers, etc).

As a magus, her Origin is 'Devotion.'

Legend: A mysterious cleric and alchemist of the 15th century, known for her association with Gilles de Rais (later called Bluebeard). In truth, she was a powerful magus who deceived countless people and allegedly conducted rituals to summon 'demons.' Though her motive for doing so remains unclear, Prelati eventually made contact with an extradimensional evil god, creating a Spellbook that she secretly entrusted to Gilles. Once these actions came to light, she was convicted of extreme witchcraft and summarily executed by the Holy Church.

Her actual goal was to find a Path to the Root - the ultimate ambition of all Magi - by summoning an existence from the Outside of the World. In other words, she tried to form a stable connection with a soul that had already touched the Root and resided within it. If successful, Prelati could have possibly attained True Magic, but instead she failed and ended up connecting to 'another place,' a path that only led to heresy. Her research was subsequently destroyed by the Church, which has no interest in anything beyond the actual world.

Due to censorship by the Church, very few details of her legend have survived to the present day, but even so, her historical infamy was great enough to enter the Throne of Heroes.
Approved, by the way, as you know - sorry, thought I already approved it here.

Luck: A
Class Skills:
Riding: A - Able to ride mounts and vehicles.
Magic Resistance: A - Grants protection against magical effects, able to cancel spells altogether.
Personal Skills:
Holy Knight Emperor: EX - Given to Charlemagne due to him leading the holy knights known as the Twelve Peers. It provides a tremendous amount of Charisma, improved attacks against the demonic, improved defences against Divinity, aptitude for weapons of the holy attribute and others. It also allows him to use Joyeuse Ordre to the fullest of its abilities.
Mana Burst (Light): A - A form of Mana Burst that is allowed only to saints, holy maidens, and holy knights. Gives an advantage over anyone evil aligned.
Over the Royal Road: C - A self-admonition type skill that displays its effects by having the user stick to the attitude of wanting to be a king. It contributes to the improvement of a portion of their parameters, but weakens them upon taking a conduct that violates that kingship.

Noble Phantasm(s):
Name: Joyeuse
Title/Alternative Reading: Joyeuse: The Holy Sword of Light
Rank: B+
Type: Anti-Evil
Description: Charlemagne's own sword is apparently a Noble Phantasm in and of itself. While his counterpart, Karl der Große, is unable to use the sword to its fullest abilities due to being rooted in reality, Charlemagne's exploits known in the Song of Roland allow him to unleash its true power.
Name: Joyeuse Ordre
Title/Alternative Reading: Joyeuse Ordre: Exemplify the Heroic King, O' Twelve Radiant Swords That Travels the Wide World
Rank: A
Type: Anti-Army
Description: A Noble Phantasm that uses Charlemagne's role as king to summon the swords of the Twelve Paladins and bring forth Joyeuse's true powers. As the sword glows, the lights that spring forth from the Twelve Paladins' swords and his own strike out in beams to attack the army below.
Personality: Charlemagne is a rather happy go lucky individual, always seem to be smiling and laughing, no matter how hard things are. Very much carefree, he comes and goes with the wind and loves to have an adventure, having fun with everyone and seeing everyone enjoy their time. Perhaps because of this love for adventure or for whatever reason, he does not really view himself as a good king or Holy Roman Emperor for the Holy Roman Empire in comparison to Karl der Große, whose exploits are what his legends are based off of. A false king is all he is and feels, and he surprisingly has a bit of low self esteem but he hides it behind a smile, along with knowledge from having traveled all over and wisdom that is beyond his years, despite looking so young. Even so, people can readily describe him as a benevolent and lovable king who would help his subjects no matter what, making sure every single one of them is smiling and laughing. His love for everything overencompasses all and it most certainly shows in his chivalry and the way he protects everyone around him.
Legend: Most of Charlemagne's exploits are known through the epic, The Song of Roland, detailing adventures that never occurred with Karl der Große. His adventures with the Twelve Paladins were but a mere fantasy to the eyes of the people, and normally, Karl der Große's own exploits accomplished in life would not have allowed Charlemagne to exist. As it is, he does, and he uses the life he lives to help whenever he can. Just like in the legends, his kingly heroics continue to this very day, using the code of chivalry to help the people even now.

Looks good. His second NP will have to be really Magical Energy-intensive, probably to a degree making it unusable in this, but no problems otherwise. Sound good?

No, having it being there indefinitely is fine; it just requires a lot to activate the NP in the first place, is all. Without a massive Magical Energy boost (which may happen, who knows), he won't be able to use it, but if he can, it exists as long as you'd like. That, at least, is fine in my eyes.

Sound good?

Ah, I see, so should I make the time for it to stay there a lot shorter? Like, perhaps...a few days? Five at the max, three minimum or something?
No, having it being there indefinitely is fine; it just requires a lot to activate the NP in the first place, is all. Without a massive Magical Energy boost (which may happen, who knows), he won't be able to use it, but if he can, it exists as long as you'd like. That, at least, is fine in my eyes.
Alright I'll just remove it altogether then!

This Skill is a prerequisite to able to use Sainte-Chapelle

Noble Phantasm:

Sainte-Chapelle: Divine Chamber of the Mystery of God
Rank: A++
Type: Anti-Demon, Anti-Evil
Range: 0
Maximum amount of Targets: 999

"The most beautiful of chapels, the chapel of the king, most decently situated within the walls of the king's house, enjoys a complete and indissoluble structure of the most solid stone. The most excellent colors of the pictures, the precious gilding of the images, the beautiful transparence of the ruddy windows on all sides, the most beautiful cloths of the altars, the wondrous merits of the sanctuary, the figures of the reliquaries externally adorned with dazzling gems, bestow such a hyperbolic beauty on that house of prayer, that, in going into it below, one understandably believes oneself, as if rapt to heaven, to enter one of the best chambers of Paradise. "
- Jean de Jandune
Tractatus de laudibus Parisius (1323)

Considered as among the highest achievements of the Rayonnant period of Gothic Architecture, Sainte-Chapelle serves as Holy place of worship and as a center of the cultural and political ambition of Ruler during his tenure with the living as well as a hallmark in history for its iridescent and colorful stained glass art and the strong vertical emphasis in every inch of the building. It is a temple dedicated to safeguarding the many relics of the Christian faith, prime of this relics among the plethora of holy relics are the shards of the True Cross, Holy Lance of Longinus (Fake), and the Crown of Thorns and this relics can be used as individual noble phantasm by Ruler albeit when each of their proper conditions are met.

The Chapel serves as Ruler's base of operations and place of healing and respite for his allies, it is the symbol of his power as the central monarch of Western Europe when all other monarchs, even that of the esteemed Holy Roman Emperor, fall short so thus when Ruler is inside the Temple he abilities and parameters are boosted immensely to the point he is considered a threat even by the most powerful of heroes present, that is if they ever decided to enter the Chapel. Demons and evil-aligned servants are at a huge disadvantage when near or in the Chapel, while it serves as a conduit which buffs the abilities and morale of good-aligned and Christian servants.

This Noble Phantasm can only be summoned once so Ruler must carefully decide where the appropriate location to use his Noble Phantasm.

Crown of Thorns; The Symbol of Pain and Salvation
Rank: A+
Type: Anti-Self
Range: 0
Maximum targets: 1

Having acquired this priceless relic from Emperor Baldwin II of the Latin Empire of Constantinople, Ruler gains access to the Crown of Thorns which was used by the captors of the Messiah both to cause him pain and to mock him of his supposed authority.

"And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee and mocked him, saying Hail, King of the Jews!"
27:29 Matthew

Before being able to truly use the power of the relic, there are conditions Ruler must meet;

+Having Endurance A-EX
+Relinquishing his title and status as 'King' (Thus removing his ability 'Charisma of the Holy King' and 'Ceremonial Reformation')
+A Life or Death situation
+ Is Gravely wounded

Meeting these conditions he is now able to use the Crown of Thorns, once Ruler was to wear the crown, it will give him immense pain and agony and his brow will bleed profusely, but Crown of Thorns grants Ruler the ability to endure any catastrophic blows dealt by 'Man' or 'Divine' enemies which mean he is able to withstand a Vasavi Shakti or an A+ Noble Phantasm at their fullest and survive, it allows him to override the possibility of dying but his pain sensors are significantly magnified to the point of a simple touch can be severely painful to him and he will still feel the damage of the Noble Phantasm.
The Crown of Thorns has a time limit imposed upon it by the Messiah which 1 hour and after that the Crown of Thorns will disappear upon Ruler's noble brow and he will die and fade away.

The Holy Sponge is a favorite Roman beverage that was offered to the Messiah at the time of His Crucifixion as a way to relieve Him of His suffering and give him strength.

The Holy Sponge acts like a healing salve that heals the grievous of wounds and damages except for the A++ - EX rank and is able to replenish a servant's strength to his prime.

Holy Spear: Lancea Longini (FAKE)
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Divine, Anti-Evil, Anti-Demonic
Maximum target: 1-2

"One of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance and immediately there came out blood and water."
John 19:34

Having acquired one of the many variations of the Holy Spear in his life, Ruler is able to use the Lancea Longini which is said to be the spear that pierced the side of the Messiah.

It is not the true Holy Spear thus it is not that powerful of a weapon against normal servants, it is still deadly to Divine and Demonic enemies as its main purpose is to smite and ultimately kill them.

When Ruler calls out its name, he is able to launch the spear into the air, a golden aura enveloping the spear which means the Blessing of the Messiah's blood is in effect in this fake spear which bears the name 'Holy Spear', and skewer's the target and taking into account the target's level of Divinity/Demonic/Evil for additional damage.

The Ill-Fated: Destiny's Sorrow for God's Lieutenant
Rank: E
Type: Anti-Self
Maximum Target: RULER

The Ill-Fated is a Conceptual Noble Phantasm, it represents the Twin Disasters of the Seventh and Eighth Crusade (Ruler being captured by Ayyubids in the 7th while dying in Tunis in the 8th) and this Noble Phantasm will always appear with Louis in any war he participates and this Noble Phantasm gives Ruler 2 disastrous events; one leading to him being gravely wounded while the last will have him die or killed.

The first disastrous event can be averted by many things but the Second is assured.

Background:

Ruler or better known as St. Louis IX was the only King of France to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church, born to Louis 'the Lion' VIII of France and Blanche of Castille at Poissy, France in the 25th of April, 1214. His father died when Louis was a child and his mother took on the role as regent of the kingdom and was considered a very powerful woman and able stateswoman for she singlehandedly won the Albigensian crusade against the Cathar heretics in the south, Blanche's words would stay to Louis even as he lies dying in bed for her words mean the world to Louis;

"I love you, my dear son, as much as a mother can love her child; but I would rather see you die at my feet than that you should ever commit a mortal sin."

Louis strived hard to be the noblest and pious king in all of the lands, worthy of his title as 'Rex Christiannissimus' or 'most Christian King' and often looked up to his predecessors, specifically Charlemagne and the Franks, as inspiration and guide for his role as King. He led two crusades in his life and though both ended in disaster, they only served to boost his popularity and prestige back in Europe, he died in his final crusade in Tunis on the 25th of August 1270 due to an epidemic of dysentery.

Personality:
Ruler is a man of immense patience and understanding and is a very loving and kind person with a serious demeanor, he was never heard to speak ill of someone and is merciful to his enemies, recounting on an incident when he was urged to put to death a prince who had followed his father in rebellion, he refused, saying: "A son cannot refuse to obey his father." Ruler is also a very knowledgable and wise person who judges a person base on his personality and carefully observes a situation weights the facts presented before taking an action and sometimes would ask the opinion of others before reaching a conclusion, he is also a curious person who has a thirst for knowledge and would love to know most of all things if possible though Ruler is also known to have temper and anger issues, he controls it with his faith and temperance, he is also a humble man, with an aura which says he would do away with finery and be simplistic if one were to ask him.

But what stands out about Ruler is his immense piety and faith to God, Ruler is first and foremost a servant of God and acts upon His will and all he does is for the greater glory of His Holy Name, he takes great delight when a person where to inquire about the Christian Faith and he would take great steps to convert that person but would respect their wishes if they don't, but if they were to be a threat to Christendom he will not hesitate to cut them down then and there, be they family or friend, and he has a huge loathing for sin and heresy especially towards the Cathars. He would also prefer to have himself die than commit a mortal sin, for sinning for him is a cause of death for him.

Ruler regards his predecessors, especially Charlemagne, with great deference and does his best to act like them and sees them as role models of a good king, and regards any Christian servants (Be they Catholic or Orthodox) as his brothers or sisters and will treat them with great respect and love. To other monarchs of other faiths, Ruler is quite approachable and easy around them, he would try to start a conversation with them about many different things and would like to know the person, he also loves the history of Rome and would often admire tales about it especially the tales of valor, bravery, and heroism of the brave men and women of Rome.

He is very OCD and tends to clean places because 'Dirt is Sin' to him.

Background:

Ruler or better known as St. Louis IX was the only King of France to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church, born Louis 'the Lion' VIII of France and Blanche of Castille at Poissy, France in the 25th of April, 1214. His father died when Louis was a child and his mother took the role as regent of the kingdom and was considered a very powerful woman and able stateswoman for she singlehandedly won the Albigensian crusade against the Cathar heretics in the south, and her words would always stick to Louis even as he lies dying in bed for her words mean the world to Louis;

Now this is a Ruler I can get behind! Especially with how badass his appearance looks.

Thank you, you're too kind.

It will be a privilege to fight alongside the Great Hannibal Barca.

Likewise, Brother Gabriel!

That is a metric butt-ton of Noble Phantasm he has there. Though, with an Armor that big I won't try to argue.

Just in general, I just took some time to properly look through all the sheets. there are loads of servants here that are really amazing. Good job team.

I forgot to add the fact that Ruler is very, very, very hesitant to use the other 3 Noble Phantasm since they are relics and using them would either kill him or destroy the relic, even Sainte-Chapelle is a one-time thing, while the other one is a detrimental Noble Phantasm. I tried to make Ruler into a servant who has to carefully know when and where to utilize his stuff for maximum efficiency because he knows he's on a time limit of sorts.

You're telling that to the man whose character's strongest attack involves blowing himself to smitherines. I think we're sitting in the same boat here ;D

Wasn't critiquing or anything, I kinda like that a Ruler of all people has as many NPs as he does and they seem well written and well "executed" - if that makes sense - too. So, more power to you.

I was surprised by the sheer amount of them as well, but going over them again, I can see how situational they can be.

One of them is simply for us to have a base of operations to work from.
One is meant for only when he's dying, doesn't even kill his attacker either.
One is just stating that he's going to die
One is simply a healing item
Only the spear is going to help him in actual combat.

That and Ruler's hesitance to even use them is going to make for some interesting moments in the story! I'm excited to see him actually use them.

The other NPs I can't wait to see in action is Einstein's E=mc2, Prelati's Spellbook, and Mannfred's Held der Luftfahrt. That's not to say the other characters' NPs aren't noteworthy of course!

Just as an FYI, y'all, we will probably be starting around a week from today, give or take a day. This is mostly because I'm so busy IRL until Sunday that I've been missing out on sleep, and passing out is not a good look for me. Sorry about that!

Take your time, man! There is no need to rush!
