Scariest video game you played?

Hmm...

I am a big survival horror gamer but I guess the two games that freak me out the most is Silent Hill 4: The Room and Forbidden Siren 2. Take creepy atmosphere, add generous amounts of mindf-ing visuals and sounds andapply an impossibly weird yet interesting story and you get two of the scariest games in the PS2 era.

The original Silent Hill.

While other installments in the series have better stories or monster designs and certainly better graphics, none of them really have quite the same consistency of tension as the original game. Isolated parts of the other games are scarier than anything in Silent Hill itself, but the first SH maintains a steady level of shitshitshit that steadily builds up to a crescendo of OH FUCK in a way that the rest fail to.

It was the first horror game I ever played. It still holds up fifteen years later.
