The year is 2012 and the next holy grail war is set to begin with the last ending in a flat out no-contest with the death of one of the magi ending in two friends left forcing them to call it a draw as neither side wanted to end the other. Or at the very least that is what the church overseer had claimed. The last war was held in Fuyuki city, and now it seems to be held there once more due to the failure of the previous masters whom saw the war fail to find a proper conclusion leading to the aforementioned draw. However the pent up magic from the previous war seems to have caused unfortunate consequences in this war as well. As the masters begin to gather and summon their servants it would seem that there is a specific clause for this particular war. An enforcement made by the guardians of the grail itself in order to make sure a winner is definitely declared in this war. The grail's magic in the last war seems to have somehow been used to reawaken old bloodlines of magisters and has caused an influx of a new group of potential candidates whom all seem to wish to take on the chance to win this new power despite some being slow to learn, others have quickly mastered their powers. How many masters, and magus whom have been reawakened by this new power is unknown. However some mages have taken up the challenge of finding out why this has happened, and how to little success.
The war is just beginning and the stipulation has been sent out by the neutral priest whom is acting as the overseer, the individual in charge of the war. The groups shall break up into teams of seven people or less. The winners of the war shall all receive one minor wish granted to them personally due to the nature of the war the grail's magic may end up needing to be shared among the winning party. Though how they are to team up is up to them there will need to be two sides of the war anyone who refuses to side with a party is allowed to continue fighting in the war however they will be outnumbered, and possibly eliminated quickly. To this end the neutral party led by the Overseer has inclined to offer a meet up at his large home for those who wish to become a part of a side without having to seek out other masters by themselves. This war is setting up to become a mess as rules have been changed and old rivalries have been resurrected from long past eras. What shall come of the war is up to the masters and the servants who fight for them.

Hello everyone assuming you're still interested after hearing the plot basis I have some stuff I'd like to inform you all about. Yes fourteen magi will be participating in this war. In order to incorporate a actual roleplaying basis for this I will be putting all player characters on one singular team. The win conditions for the war have been altered slightly from usual wars in that you must eliminate, or force a surrender from the opposing team. There is no set hierarchy so it may be necessary to force each individual master to surrender to the other faction.

You may play as a servant, or a hero/master. I encourage you to make two separate characters so you can play both. For masters I will be willing to shorten requirements on servants if you wish to make them an add-on to your main master sheet. You may also play as a servant alone but you will need a player character master to attach yourself to. In the case of drop outs ex-masters will be allowed to re-summon servants, and already made servants can attach themselves to an existing master, or make one for their own.

Of course this being a fates roleplay PVP combat is allowed however there is a big restriction on it: Both players on either end must agree to do so. Battles like them will be done in either a collab, or done in an arena battle. This is to prevent random player killings from say Assassin.

A note is I'm going to do my best to balance out certain aspects of characters as to prevent any power playing from happening. Some people will excel at certain areas and others won't. Therefore it's how you use your abilities not the quality, or quantity of them that will end up with a victorious winner. To make sure there is no confusion I may need to nerf down some canon servants and prevent custom ones from being too strong. Some of them have the ability to auto-kill or hit enemies and in a roleplaying setting that is very much unacceptable as it makes games hard to balance. While Cu Chulain for example is allowed I can't let people Gae Bolg'ing people from across the city. You may not make a character who did not exist in history with some sort of record or legend telling of them. Indian Mythology is especially bizarre power wise so I recommend not choosing them. Likewise some Japanese myth characters may be unavailable depending on their stats due to the fame boost of being in Japan.

An example of the above would be say Siegfried as Saber. He has armor the prevents him from taking damage from B-Rank weapons, and abilities or below. That would be far to strong and I'd bring it down to C rank to at least make him more vulnerable and less prone to not being harmed by more or less everything.
With that being said I'm reserving the spot of Saber unless someone has a great idea for a saber class.
The posting requirements for this roleplay is about two paragraphs per post, and a detailed character profile. Here's an idea of what I'm looking for
Somewhat reasonable expectations
Here's a list of roles currently claimed:
Servant
Saber: Reserved by Gm
Archer: Reserved
Lancer
Rider:
Caster: Possibly reserved by Blighted Agent
Assassin:
Beserker:

Hello, I'm very interested since I've seen the original thread a few times but felt that with like 80+ posts it might mean I was too late. Didn't see a reboot coming. Maybe I can hop on this time?

This is based off Apocrypha and the Red/Black factions? Are we allowed to invent Servants of our own, or must we abide by the existing ones in the current lore? (not that there's a lack of options given the absurd numbers provided by Grand Order)
Similarly, how much freedom do we have in terms of masters? Would you rather we stick to known families and sorcery traits etc?

This as I understand is to happen sometime after the fifth, will any characters from then return? Can we play them or not? Is the Overseer a GM character too? Is it just a person, a servant, a team of both, or...

None of the characters from Fates are alive or exist. Fate/Zero was replaced by an entirely different grail war. This is unless someone really wants to be a certain character and even then it may come down to how strong they are. I have plans for some families such as Matou, Edelfelt, and Einzberg and a few others but I'll be willing to let in a Tousaka for example. (Forgive me on spelling I'm trying to multi task atm.)

This will be based off apocrypha but with a more standard grail war settings so we're not being forced onto the same team we'll need to mold together. The world as it stands at the start of the rp is not at stake as such the church is more worried about an actual victor this time around than anything.

You are allowed to make your own servants but they must have historical precedent. There must be a tale or a legend. I will allow you to reinvent a already existing servant to some extent if you really wish too but i'd stick with what they have already unless they need nerfs.

You may use elemental, curse, or familiar magics but I'd recommend staying away from unique stuff like Shirou's unlimited blade works. Magic will have per day/hour/week requirements on the masters due to magical circuit stuff I'd rather not go through all the math related to it. If you have questions I'll try to answer better. Sorcery traits and what have you were never really brought up in the other version of this roleplay so it'd depend on what they are.

My character is going to be a participant in this war his name is Leon Winchester and he's from America. He summoned the saber class early because his parents got wind of his being chosen and all. Who Saber is I'll put on the players in the game it could range from Mordred, to Siegfried, to Lancelot, or perhaps someone else. I'm putting it up to vote more or less if no one picks I'll probably put in Mordred, or Lancelot as they're already made. Lancelot is nerfed to make him less broken then he is in berserker mode.

@Blighted_Agent You wouldn't by chance know of anyone who may be interested in joining this would you? The last interest check didn't go so well so I could use some help filling spots.

I don't know many people on Iwaku, my apologies. I'll ask around the few people I do, but I can't make any promises.

Alright fair enough I won't ask for the impossible but if you know people off of site who may find this cool then It may be worth trying to get them to make an account to join too though that may be too much of a hassle.

I'd be willing to hop on if you're still taking submissions. I'm kind of interested an archer or a lancer class servant maybe, but I haven't put much thought into it yet past that.

It's all up to you. I'm looking for dedicated roleplayers that's all I'm asking for on top of my post requirements. You're free to pick lancer, or archer as you see fit as neither have been used.

I'm fine with the requirements. Just need a little time to formulate ideas more clearly in my head. For reference, I have someone in mind, but the hero in question has no real artifacts to their title, despite being fairly well known for their abilities. Would that be fine or should I explicitly look for heroes with a relic of some kind to more easily facilitate a noble phantasm?

@Skilletzorz Sometimes Noble Phantasms manifest themselves in other ways. For example Brynhildr as a lancer doesn't have a actual noble phantasm though her lance maybe considered as such. Instead the impact of the blow depends on how much she cares for the enemy. Archimedes channels the sun's energy. So if the hero in question doesn't have a actual named weapon that's fine. I'd still recommend going over the canon list of lancers, there's plenty, and picking out one of them but it's up to you.

Sorry for lack of reply. Big week. Black belt test for a student and I caught the flu. Weee, Colorado bug. I'm still in. <3

It's alright Yuri I know shit happens. I've bad situations myself was once out of commission for two whole months. Caster has been taken though you can ask Blighted if he'd like to swap out if not we still need Rider, Berserker, assassin, and whoever skillz doesn't pick.

@Skilletzorz Have you decided what you want to do yet? And I hope this isn't rude of me to ask of you but do you have anyone you can invite to this roleplay so we can get the slots filled out as best as possible?

I have, I've got an Archer lined up but I need to transpose the profile from the type moon page, just ended up taking your advice and while looking for inspiration I found one pretty close to what I was intending to do anyway. As for inviting new people I'm afraid not. I was TNT's +1 as it were, most of my other friends are busy or burnt out.

@Skilletzorz alright I'll set you up as Archer then. That leaves Berserker, Rider, Assassin, and Lancer. Thanks for sticking with it Skillz I look forward to playing with all of you.

@Skilletzorz @Blighted_Agent @YuriLucien Alright here's the deal I can start this roleplay with three people but we'd need everyone to be active. We don't have Assassin, Rider, or Berserker which is a problem but I can try to cope. The only alternative I can think of is for us to move to another site which I know you guys don't feel like doing. The short of it is this: I have another version of this roleplay on a site called roleplay adventures and it needs Caster, Rider, Assassin, and Berserker. It only has three people.

I would indeed prefer to have it here, we can give it a few more days to see if anybody else signs up? I'm almost done with a preliminary version of Master and Servant.

A few days is a bit of a long wait but if you'd three like to give it a try that's fair.

I have no strong feelings so I guess I'll file it under a vote to move, though I'd figure that an easy way to work with fewer participants would be to leave the team structure...less well defined I suppose
