Kaozuki ~ Mogana, Morte, and Tensa

Kaozuki ignored the one with the shield for the moment and took a few steps to the side, stabbing straight for the head of the goblin with the axe, a move made on impulse but not a smart one. Whether she realized it or not, she'd managed to turn her back to the other goblin entirely. Sure, she could probably have dodged after the fact normally but her mind was still recovering from the shock.

Location ~ outer Grand Masai
Durendal ~ not those four

Durendal had wandered out for the moonlight raid just as he figured others had. However, his objective wasn't to work with or help anyone at all. It was to sit there and farm a little gold before the day ended. Unsheathing his swords, he walked out into the field and let the enemies start spawning. With any luck, he'd make some good headway on the gold count before making his way to floor two tomorrow. Idiots like Heizen took shortcuts that became detours. He could just crush it with pure, overwhelming power and skill.

Location ~ Lake near Grand Masai Gates
Feather ~ Klugh

Death stared Feather in the eye like a curious firefly, and she returned the gesture with a surprisingly peaceful smile. In that moment where the bear swung his massive fist of claws her way, she eased back into the rock and closed her eyes, as if readying herself to sleep. "That's all it is," she murmured softly, as if speaking them would maker her believe. "Sleep..." It wouldn't be until much later that the girl marked by a black hand would wonder why she was so willing to accept death, rather than fighting to live. At the time she figured there wouldn't be a chance to wonder. Soon things would be over, and regret would never occupy her empty mind. Death promised her that. But seconds passed by, and death never came. Was it so quick and painless for her not to even realize? Had she already passed on; did she already belong to the black swimming beneath her closed eyelids? When an unrealistic amount of time passed she began to wonder why pain evaded her little frame, but it wasn't until she heard the grunt of pain that Feather opened her eyes. And what she found after doing so horrified her more than death itself. "STOP!" The scream fell from her lips before she could understand to whom she was even speaking; the man who stepped in to knock her attacker away, or the bear which now pursued that man with primitive rage. Shoving up from her little corner against the rocks, Feather fumbled to draw a blade and launch it. She had to do something, had to distract the beast so the stupid man could pick up his sword and defend himself. But before she had the chance to manage anything he punched the beast right in the face and grabbed the sword once more, driving its edge right into the bear's head. Adrenalin surged through her veins again, but rather than running or doing anything Feather dropped to the ground on her knees, panicked breaths tearing from her chest. She was trembling without realizing it... the only thought her mind could entertain was the sight of a bear tearing its claws through the man's chest. Obliterating a player right before her eyes, someone who tried to protect her. She wouldn't have done anything to save him. Couldn't have, rather - it would have been too late. Yet clearly the man was okay... he hadn't stepped in without knowing he could win. And now she could live, too, and continue through the game.

So why did tears jump to her face at the mere possibility of this stranger dying to save her? Frustrated gasps, nearly sobs from a panic attack, shook her body quietly. But she couldn't do anything to calm herself down or make the raw energy dissipate. And when the man turned to her and spoke in his softly childish voice she couldn't hold back the frustrated shout of a response. "Idiot! You could have gotten yourself killed! What were you thinking? This isn't just some stupid game, people die here!" Amidst the harsh shouting her fingernails dug into the rocky earth below, and now she could feel the bite of dirty stone on their delicate tips. Retracting them irritably she pressed the heels of her palms into her eye sockets, rubbing the tears away with a bitter breath. There was no point yelling at him. If he hadn't come, she'd be dead by now... if anyone deserved to have those words screamed at them, it was her. Walking into a bear attack, thinking she was capable of fending for herself, getting cocky when the first two were dead and no more appeared to be in sight. How could she have been so stupid, so like the clowns that paraded across the plains every day and charged into a dungeon no one was ready for? This was the second time she'd made herself a fool in one day, and this time there was a witness. Then again, she was lucky to have this particular person for a savior. He didn't seem like the type to judge or ridicule, mostly because he probably got enough of it himself from the other players. She used that as a point to calm her nerves, and when the tears and frustration subsided enough for her to hide behind a mask Feather glanced up to meet his gaze and accept the offered hand. He pulled her to her feet like she was nothing more than... a feather. And really, that's all Lira had become in this game - a scrap of delicate matter, floating without purpose and easily stomped down by foes. But she couldn't afford to think about that tangent now. Straightening herself out carefully, Feather brushed dirt from her gear and threw him a wry glance from the corner of her clockwork eyes. "I appreciate the risk you took by saving me. How can I return the favor...?" At first she made to read the name above his head. But two things occurred to her before she got the chance to speak - firstly, playing along like she didn't know could open up the potential of a light greeting, one similar to what Tirian originally tried to exchange with her, the very thing she shot down. And second... his name, 'Klugh', was a little weird. Feather had no idea how to pronounce it, and doing so wrongly would be more embarrassing than waiting for him to say so himself.

So rather than playing along with the obvious, Feather decided to step out of her comfort zone and try to do what Tirian indirectly taught her to. Her voice wavered only slightly as she turned to him. "Uhm, I'm... Feather. By the way." Obviously. It was a start, at least she restrained herself from voicing the final word that naturally concluded her sentence. To avoid the natural awkwardness she felt after saying something silly, Feather dipped down and gathered the drops she'd earned, making sure also to pocket her throwing knives. A good amount of them had to be at least halfway worn out, but she also knew that they were weak to begin with, and it would be best to buy better quality knives rather than waiting these ones out. Did she have enough money for that, though? Counting out mentally, Feather had 25 GP and a few scraps of material to sell. Not enough to make up for the 50 GP potion she could have sold, but... Ah. It was too late to worry about that now. She could still probably afford some new weapons and a meal before going out to hunt again, but it was already a little past twelve, and if she waited much longer to go back to town she wouldn't have much time before dark to make a little more money. And all of that didn't even account for the man, who she would probably have to pay in return for being saved. From the look of it he took a bit of damage from the attack - enough to warrant a return to Grand Masai, she wasn't quite sure. But for some reason, probably fear of another attack wiping her out, she hoped he would need to go back that way as well. For a few moments she kicked at the dirt nervously, working up the nerve to ask him about it, trying to break past her reservations about associating with people. After a while she huffed with blind frustration and threw him a look, already moving her feet toward the town. "I'm going back. You can come, if you want." As soon as the words were out she turned her head toward the town, trying not to wonder if he would come along. As she picked her way around the lake a game-message chimed, and stole her attention away long enough to read the question Tirian aimed her way. It was pretty obvious why he was curious; the man wanted to know who gave him the potion. Why? Either to be thanked or to pay back the debt. But she wasn't interested in either. So rather than responding, she wiped the screen away and continued forward, focusing her steel gaze on the Grand Masai gates.

Tensa, as he bashed a goblins, the swing continues as the goblin flew over to a bunch of other goblins, as he dashed towards one of the bears, Preparing an overhead Downward, As he slightly notices The girl turning her back to another goblin. She has her mates, it's not really his problem.

Klugh ~ Feather

Klugh had pushed himself to a standing position and watched the small girl as she seemed to shout at him about his coming to her defense, he scratched his head in confusions at her words until she calmed herself and seemed to huff in anger. For a moment she seemed quiet until he had helped her to the feet she had fallen from her feet planted back across the ground, he allowed a hearty laugh to leave his lips when she spoke about repayment his eyes seeming to close and his head shaking. He stepped his feet forward resting them next to the girl and taking a knee letting his violet eyes fall upon her eyes and a chuckle left his lips as he watched her.

"Me knew me could beat two bears, me had no worry for death, you need not pay me back me helped you."

He stood on that note and turned his violet eyes to the sun that had begun setting over the horizon, he forgot about the game clock that had told the time and he knew that the game had shifted to that of a miniature night time and even now the sky overhead had become a dark navy blue color with the twinkle of the white stars that gathered overhead, he had turned away from the girl that had begun to quietly ponder something within her own mind, his eyes searching over the horizon until the girls small voice slipped forward again resting upon his own ears speaking the name he had saw earlier levitating upon her head but rotated to look down upon her small face another smile crossing his lips.

"Me Klugh, nice to meet Feather,"

The words of the names that spoke forward was all that remained of the simple conversation they had before Klugh turned upon his heels and began making his way back towards the Grand Masai, each step upon the darkened ground causing the grass to shift away from him as he walked hoping the small girl remained close behind him his sword rested across the two of his shoulders blade end first and the hilt within his right hand. He allowed a while before he himself stopped a while from the gates his violet eyes traveling to the sounds of battle off to the side, he growled slightly in the direction of the onslaught taking place, he allowed his lips to curl into a sinister grim almost baring his teeth to the direction. Sometime afterwards his eyes fell back upon the small girl speaking lightly to her.

"You back to city, me go kill petty creatures"

With that he began first walking allowing only his anger to grow at the goblins that dared assault the people of this city that worked so hard on the goblins, he shifted the blade downward digging it deep within the dirt and darting forward, tearing and ripping at the ground as he charged forward his lips remaining curled into their sinister snarl letting a roar rip through the air as he charged, when he joined the battle a few goblins turned his way to release arrows but before their arrows even left the bow his sword slammed into them seeming to tear them apart almost in an instant. More Goblins began to turn their eyes upon him which only drove his lust for battle further and further.

Feather ~ Participants of the Moonlight Raid

Apparently Klugh had the same idea as Feather - before she knew it he was in the lead, and she was left to follow behind the boulder of a man like a little girl who needed protection. Somewhat childishly she huffed, considering for a brief moment changing her course so as to defy the role she'd fallen into and save her pride. But that was strategically an idiotic move, and would only wound her pride more, so rather than racing off in some other direction she followed him silently through the darkening field, her eyes steady on the gates up ahead. Eventually her attention diverted to the distant sounds of the moonlight raid, which from their close proximity to the town was pretty easily seen by now. Skirting the edge of her vision a mass of monsters spawned, some familiar - wolves, bears - and some she could recall as goblins only from the manual. There was a hoard of them, nearly blocking their path to Grand Masai and wearing down on a group of battle-torn players with the sheer force of numbers. Without thinking her footfall steered toward the group, throwing blades already summoned from her pack and intertwined between fingertips. It wasn't until Klugh spoke that Feather realized what she was about to walk into. For a moment her footsteps faltered, and she turned an eye to the massive man curiously. He was warning her. Indirectly of course - nudging her toward the town, toward safety.

Probably because he thought she was weak, or an easily broken thing... and, well, her near-death experience supported that idea pretty well actually. But there had been more to the events than that little highlight... Before she allowed herself to get cocky, Feather had done pretty well with fending off the bears. The natural speed of whispers helped her to dodge unexpected attacks, and with the help of acrobatics and flexibility she didn't doubt her ability to take down a few monsters before heading back to town. If she didn't get distracted, anyway. There was the chance of losing focus here, with a group of other players to worry about, but when she thought it through this would be the only opportunity to farm before the night's end... and if she truly wanted to start working on her potion skills, she'd need the money to buy materials first. It was only logical to get engaged. Yet despite the logicality Feather was still hesitant to race forward and claim victory... Fear was a terrible thing, really. It crept into one's stomach like a parasite, unseen until the heat of a moment struck her senseless from it's weight. Nearly watching Tirian die sparked that fear, and the close call on her own life made it worse. Now, the thought of jumping into battle left her knees to tremble like leaves in a small breeze.

But Feather was not one to bow in the face of emotion. It was times like this where she steeled the mask of her composure and charged into battle, ready to conquer the weak feelings and prove superiority. "I can do this." The sound of clashing blades propelled her forward, darting through the dark with graceful speed, four knives positioned between the fingers of each hand. When the first group of monsters came into view she launched the blades, picking off a few wolves with deadly neck-shots. The amount of blades she lost here mattered not - she'd be buying new ones when this was over, anyway. So rather than taking the time to collect the blades she lost, Feather continued forward through the raid like the shadow of light itself, catching monsters off guard and making use of her acrobatic affinity to dodge attacks. Sometimes it was by a narrow inch that she evaded the teeth of a wolf, the claws of a bear, the arrow from an Archer Gob. But 'almost' only counted in horseshoes and hand grenades. As long as she danced out of the line of their attacks, Feather would be fine. And so far she was doing so beautifully - better than she expected of herself, all things considered. Maybe that's what near-death experiences did to a person like her; set them free from the bonds of fear and restraint, if only to prove that emotions were a weakness they never intended to forfeit to in the first place.

Morgana ~ Participants of the Moonlight Raid/Kaozuki

Morgana was too preoccupied to really notice anyone else, the goblins were so many. She had acted without thinking and now it ws costing her. She wasn't all that great of a fighter and it took every ounce of skill and strength she did have to fend off the seemingly endless mob. She couldn't have escaped if she wanted too, and she didn't. Runing away wouldn't do any good, and the people who were here obviouly needed help, however meager it seemed. She merely caught glimpses of the others, and sliced through another goblin that had been sneaking up on someone else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Azmeryth's eyes sparkled just a bit when she saw the blue light engulf the bear, and she knew that, somehow, she'd successfully tamed another beast of Quest. Temper padded over to her side, his head peeking over her shoulder before the canine moved to her right side, and sat on his haunches. He tilted his head at the glowing blue bear, and then looked at Azmeryth as if he could tell this might possibly be his last moments with her. He whimpered, and lowered his ears, his head ducking below his shoulders a bit. Azzy smiled at her companion, and reached out to ruffle the fur on his head. It was then that the message popped up in front of her, the bright white screen giving her a cheery message, and then a few choices.
CONGRATULATIONS:
You have successfully tamed a Male Bear.
You can keep only one tamed beast at a time.
Will you keep the Male Bear, or will you keep your current companion, Temper?
Keep the Male Bear? Keep Temper?
Azmeryth's pale blue eyes read the message carefully, but she already knew the answer. She couldnt let Temper go...not after she'd grown so fond of the canine that'd been by her side even if for a short period of time. She looked over at him, and her lips curved into a smile. The Wolf was still pouting, his head hunkered down, his tail tucked up in him, and his ears drooped. Such a silly dog. She reached over, and then patted his head, her finger pressing the "Keep Temper" button before the window flashed to a different one that had an assortment of new words scrawled upon it.
CAUTION:
Releasing the Male Bear will result in you having to kill it.
Proceed?
Yes No
Azmeryth sighed, and shook her head, finger pressing the "Yes" button. The screen the vanished. Temper looked up at her, and she smiled as she rose, and grasped the hilt of her Chained Sickle once more. It was an unfortunate thing, but she would now kill the bear, and collect the spoils. Azzy quickly plunged the blade of her sickle into the top of the bear's head, and watched as the animal shattered into little blue dust particle, and shimmered away. She leaned down to pick up the GP, Leather, and Fur Tuft that was left behind as she had done with the first bear. It was then that she had returned to Tirian, and smiled as he commented on her Taming. A curt nod shook her head, she didnt have much time to reply because he'd moved right on to his next quest, his blue eyes locking with her own. Such a silly question he had asked as well. Did he really need to? She needed the gold badly, and she expected that whatever he was going to make with the leather would either fetch a fine price in the market, or it would protect him, or aid him in getting more gold in the long run. The redhead would nod, and smile up at him.
"I have two strips of Leather, but if that will help you out, then sure. You can have them"
She'd have traded with him then, and there, but he'd already wandered off with his sword drawn. It was an odd little ritual of his...the whole sword thing he seemed to do, but she really couldnt say anything about it. She had her own little quirks as well. One such as not trusting people until they can prove they can be trusted. Though most may not see this is weird...Azzy finds it to be obnoxious at times. She just cant help herself though. Nonetheless, her thoughts are interrupted by the graceful movements of Tiri, and his confidence in combat. He was better than she had originally thought, and it showed now with how he now fought the bears, and took no damage with the five of them. It was a feat in itself, and she was speechless. Even as he landed before her, told her to take the gold, and stated that they should make their way back to Grand Masai. The girl blinked a few times, and nodded moving around him to fetch all the gold that was left behind. She also set up a trade with him offering her two strips of leather to him.
Once he accepted, they headed out across the vast fields of Quest First Floor, and soon made it nearly to Grand Masai. That is until they ran into a large group of players in the midst of battle. She stopped dead at the top of the hill they'd just climbed, and watched as several player's lives were diminished. Stomped out like a flame. Azmeryth frowned, and took a few steps back. Couldnt they be done with fighting for the day? Was she even going to get back to Grand Masai, get a room, and be able to sleep away the worry of today, and start fresh tomorrow? This damned game never gave the players break. Temper growled at the sight, his lips curling back as he hunkered down in between Azmeryth, and Tirian. This just wasnt right, and Azmeryth was growing frightened that she may not be able to see the light of day tomorrow. With how things were going, it was very possible that tonight would be her last. She sighed, and blinked back tears as she looked over to Tirian.
"What do we do, Tiri?"
She asked in a whispered. She sounded like a frightened child, and almost looked like such. Bug blue eyes gazed at him with worry, and fear as her small hands fumbled with themselves before her. Even her barbaric garb couldnt mask the innocence, and fear that was the young woman beneath.
Moonlight Raid~
The Goblins were not so specifically structured and organized this time as they were with great numbers. At least 50 or so goblins had joined the fray. Green skin showed as they took down some of the players that were far less experienced. They were vicious creatures that were out to kill and were specifically squaring off 4 per person if they could. Of course some were doing very well to take out their enemy, they were striking them down with great force and the goblins were doing their best to accommodate that with brute force and insane numbers. Knives were landing here and their in their tiny necks as they disappeared by fatal blow, crushing dominance by two huge bladers that stood above the rest, and of course others who did decently in the battle and worked their hardest to defeat them. They had thinned the numbers down quite a bit.
(Note this attack isn't as dangerous because of how many are here to defend, So Im playing it off a lot nicer so that we can get this day ended and continue the roleplay Everyone try to get back to Grand Masai at this point finish up your attacks on the Goblins whatever you're going to do.)
Day will end and start anew after everyone has made their next post returning to Finishing up their Goblins, returning to Grand Masai, or wherever you plan to sleep.
Kaozuki ~ others
Kaozuki decapitated another goblin and kicked another out of her way before it could hit her. Then the next thing she knew, something collided with her back and she was sent face first into the grass. Her muddled brain already hadn't been working all the way and getting hit with what was presumably a large metal object didn't help it much at all. More mentally numb than physically hurt, she laid there, waiting for a followup blow which thankfully didn't come as a goblin, presumably the one that hit her, dropped to the ground in two pieces, a few feet from her face.
Location ~ outside Grand Masai (not with other group)
Durendal ~ no one
Durendal finished up picking off a few more goblins, having taken a leisurely stroll along the edge of the moonlight raid zone to pull targets but not too many and especially taking care to avoid archers when the lighting was so bad. Scooping up his extra earnings from the small grind that had served little purpose other than to make use of his worn down weapons, he made his way back to town and headed off to get his swords repaired. He for one was sick of floor one and planned to move on in the morning even if it meant going by himself. Besides, if he did, he could go get better weapons, bring them back, and jack up the prices for more money making goodness.
Location~ South of Grand Masai
Tirian~ Azmeryth/Moonlight raid group.
Tirian was light hearted a lot of the time, always just enjoying his time, after all Jack on the other end had looked so forward to playing this game with her, and enjoying a world where he could do something. Those thoughts reflected through Tirian as he walked with Azzy and remembered his debts, the schools, and piled up bills that continued to accumulate over the years. This was that escape from that sickening world where nothing was fair, and he couldn't deny being around Azzy gave him a certain level of comfort, but an even greater amount of worry.
His thoughts were interrupted almost instantly when he heard the nearby commotion of the large scale group of people. His eyes widened and the insane number of goblins that had come to this single area and he thought back to reading up about floor 1. "Moonlight Raid.." he grumbled biting his lips slightly, his eyes narrowed as he looked across the death trap towards the city, not even but a mile in game away.
Then the soft tender tone of her voice could be heard, she almost squeaked when she spoke, a terror trembling within the undertones of her voice. He turned and met her gaze with a mask of confidence as he simple nodded and spoke up in the gentlest baritone that reflected his real voice. "We should probably go around, I think with them focused we could avoid most of the combat, but that's up to you if you want to take up more gold before you turn in." he had a foul bile in his mouth even suggesting the idea of her fighting as a reaper in this scale of a battle. The idea of seeing that brilliant red hair fade like dust in the wind made him tremble with sickening nostalgia and anger.
This game was built for people to interact and cover their weaknesses with the help of members in a aprty that helped. The Holy Trinity of course… Dps, Tank, and of course Sorceror, or in this game it would have been a range user, either chained weapon or Throwing knives/stars. She was a reaper, and he was a Blader that had not had a chance to invest into his Endurance stat quite yet. Even more than that, they were both injured decently, him even more than her, so chances of survival in a 50+ Goblin raid were slim to none.
"Umm I really think we should probably get back to tow.." he was about to suggest it, but then he noticed the few he had met earlier, others had gotten caught in this mess that he knew and it only made him tremble a bit more as he tried to sort out a hundred different reasons to deny himself such a suicidal heroic feat. Durendal stood off to the side, probably waiting to harvest what was left after the enemies were dead, and then that Klugh guy, the Pker was out there bashing skulls, fighting to the best of his ability, despite the fact he was a Blader as well. It made Tirian almost feel like a coward for a second as his grip tightened on his weapon, but he could not continue the sentence he was saying.
He continued to glance back and forth at Azzy as he had silently come to call her. That fact alone scared him too he had allowed her to graduate from one of his general nicknames, like "Loud Mouth" and She had become someone he truly didn't want to see get hurt in the cruel entanglement of this game. Speaking of which; as Tirian's eyes glazed over the field again he saw a familiar sight. The little loli girl Feather, standing on the ridiculous front lines of this battle, running throwing an flinging knives all over the freaking places. Other girls were doing the same that would have never been a type that was great with fighting, probably even abhorred it, but they still fought on, Morgana, too the little healer that he had helped before, she was in the thick of this battle despite her natural abhoration of fighting as well.
His grip tightened on his weapon as he started to lift it from the sheathe and looked again to Azzy. " Will you go to the safe Zone? I can help them even a little." He said as low as a whisper as he started to move around the side. The groups were doing well, some fell; died right before them, it was sickening when he thought about this in comparison to that damned Golem, but they were doing great and the numbers were falling quickly. Tirian had to make a choice soon, to do something and help them out, or focus on her and get her to safety, his muscles itched for him to help them, but when he glanced back with his pale blue solemn eyes into her own brilliant orbs of pure blue, he couldn't help but see her as more than he'd have intended.
His choice was made as he growled out. "Follow me, stay close." He was doing a devilish act when he thought about it, but he couldn't see it, if she died here, like this.. if she died… on him… no.. he refused.. So scaling the side, as Goblins struck out against them, a new rage built and he stepped back swinging at a diagonal to cleave them as he spun around like a dance and aimed to cleave another in half. His dance was flawless and only slowed the in small increments before they made it around the entire raid with no damage accumulated, he didn't allow his back to fall prey, only continued side stepping with her until he was sure they were safe enough.
His body trembled with fear as he glanced about once more and turned to face her with s solid confident, yet fake smile. "Go on ahead, I will be right behind you and I can cover you better this way." She was stubborn though, which would make things difficult, as he was sure she would never obey this sort of idea, of leaving him behind like this to cover her. He wanted to rush into the quickly diminishing battle, but for now he was standing single sword at the ready so that he could survey the field and find out if feather was still alright, as well as the lug Klugh, and Morgana, He didn't see Zephyr in the fray, but perhaps Zephyr was off doing his own thing like a real Solo player. What did that make him? He couldn't help but grin and laugh a little as he thought that over.
Am I even a Solo Player anymore....
Morte~ Kaozuki/others
Morte was still moving as if he was a phantom among them, but he was a devilish phantom of sorts. Whenever he knew he could not make the dodge he would tug a poor unexpecting player in the way of the strike, letting them take the damage, only a few times in the chaos did it work that the poor player was killed due to his preservation reaper ways. He had a grin that played on his face as he moved closer and closer to Kaozuki's location but he was much more careful not to cause anyone a death blow as he neared her.
He only caught a glimpse of a Goblin that knocked her down and hovered over her ready to land that final blow, and his adrenaline kicked in as he took off in full burst and was only slightly late when another player cut that goblin in half, just as his own blade clashed with that players. He recovered quickly and spun around like a deathly cyclone almost to cleave a few other Goblins in half, before he knelt down next to Kaozuki and offered a hand to her his soft voice emerging. "Let me protect you, there is only so much one can do on their own." He cast her a chilling grin and then hoisted her up trying to move with her to the edge of the battle, he hoped to send her off on her way to the safe zone. Today would not be the day he claimed his prey
Kaozuki ~ Morte and others
Kaozuki took a few seconds before her vision came back into focus enough to realize that Morte was right in front of her and felt very much like an idiot. Normally, she was sure that these little pests wouldn't have been a problem for her at all but today had resulted in mistake after mistake after mistake and she knew it. Going as her as her hair for a few moments from sheer embarrassment at her performance, she really wished she would curl up and wake up to find that her chain of failures had just been a dream... but that wasn't happening. Not a chance. Though she only caught about the last half of what Morte had been saying, she took his hand and winced as she was hauled to her feet. This kind of thing hurt waaaaay too much for virtual reality. Realism was cool but did they really have to make it feel like she'd just been hammered in the back with a big spiky ball? Blood trickled down her back and she stumbled, almost hanging on him by an arm.
"I really need to stop being so clumsy..." she mumbled, trying to focus on walking. There was a goblin here and a goblin there, a lot less than before but the sight of an injured player was plenty enough to attract some of the leftovers. Before, she'd been almost paralyzed with the death surrounding her but now was entirely different. In no time during her normal life had she ever felt anything remotely as painful as being torn apart with a spiky metal ball. The most she'd done was slice a finger open with a knife by accident and that had hurt but it wasn't even close.
Tensa finished them up with his blunt paddle weapon, Striking about two of them down per blow. As much as one would hope, the length of the weapon and it's thirty pound weight helped him mow down the fries. He then dashed away from the surrounding mod, as he hammered on as the sheer hits made the Goblins bones shatter in pieces as they were hit on the chest, while the others were launched at the other Goblins, making kills with some other players easier as, frankly, Goblins would off guard, and it was the perfect time the the lesser ones to finish the job. However, a small crack is heard from that rusty piece of metal is heard after a few swings. Tensa sighed, as he thinks the weapon isn't too durable.
Klugh ~ Feather/ Moonlight Raid group
Klugh had already charged in by the time the small girl had, he saw her small form dance between each of the small spaces that the goblins left within their ranks. He reached his hand forward and grabbed the neck of one of the goblin archers lifting its small form from the ground and tossing its small shaking body into the last group of his comrades. He stepped forward shortly afterwards and slammed the two handed sword over top of them clearing like the last group of archers from their place, he stepped forward shortly afterwards his fingers dancing around the hilt of the two handed sword before rotating on his feet and searching the battlefield that had begun to fall silent, the sounds of battle had fallen and only silence continued to dance along the shattered remains of players that still danced from the raid. He turned his eyes to the deep forest from before seeming to long to be inside slaying the last bit of creatures and preparing for his training tomorrow he growled slightly at the fact he couldn't tonight and moved so he stood outside the rest of cleanup his eyes closed and waiting for the small girl to join back up with him.
Violet eyes slipped back open as the last of the goblins fell their shattered raiding party fallen before the players who still rose their blades to strike for one another. He waited on the outside of the groups eyes slipping back closed, he didn't know what he waited for but simply put he waited his body seeming relaxed as each arm rose to curl over his chest deeply one inside of the other. Many players seemed to pass him, he could feel their glares echoing upon his tan skin but for once he didn't care if they hated him because of what he did. Though when one player
stopped his eyes shifting up at Klugh the hulking giant spoke words slipping through his lips to simply warn the player.
"Me might bite, better move"
A small yelp left the boys lips and he darted for the safety of the Grand Masai afraid that the giant would eat him if he tried anything, Klugh only simply sighed at the awful truth but watched and waited watching each person as they made their way back through the safety of the gates, each safe person meant another for a boss run eventually and here he hoped that people could move forward much more and here he stood still waiting.
Shadow ~ No one
His sapphire blue eyes stared forward just as the chain circled around the neck of the two goblins and he dropped down hanging them from the branch that he had stood on moments ago their bodies still jerking in anger trying to get free from their binds, he pulled one hard time upon the tree branch forcing it to snap and the goblins to tumble to the ground beneath it, they scrambled for their weapons slimy feet seeming to push forth. They were up and had managed to grip their weapons but where had the whisper gone, yellow eyes piecing through the darkness they began to search side by side. They passed the trees allowing their eyes to dance from each tree top to the next but they saw nothing. Once again though the chain clinked and their eyes shifted up into the darkness to spot upon the blue eyes of their prey before he landed upon their bodies blades at the end of the chains jabbed through the skin of their neck and their bodies dissipating beneath his own causing him to claim the gold and such that fell from their bodies. He rose at that time and shot out of the forest and into the Grand Masai slipping beneath the darkness of an alleyway and dunking down in the darkness for now he watched.
Feather ~ Klugh
Feather was panting heavy breathes by the time the mob thinned. A soft silver twilight glowed just above the horizon; remnants of the sun's departure breaking up the clouds that cycled lifelessly through the evening sky. It was late, though how late she couldn't tell. For the longest time the little elfin girl focused only on the onslaught of monsters spawning outside of Grand Masai. The Raid lasted a lifetime, and after a near dozen kills she was ready to retire on the grassy hills and sleep to the lullaby of a midnight breeze. Unfortunately that sort of thing was dangerous in Quest Online. And despite how exhausted all seventy-two pounds of her body had become, Feather felt amazing. Adrenaline slowly trickled into a thin stream of numbness that lulled her sore muscles comfortably. By some miracle she managed to escape getting hit - mostly, anyway. There had been that stupid little moment where she turned tail to the forest's edge, completely exposing herself to the assault of a wolf. If this had been the real world one bite from those ferocious jaws would likely have torn her side to ribbons, but the perk to being in Quest was that she could take a hit without actually bleeding. Feather wasn't necessarily strong, nor had she the endurance of a Lancer, but the affinities her class came with managed to make escape possible. At the time she told herself to worry about pain later - and now that the mob was dying out, and the other players were returning to the village, a dull ache spread through her inactive ribs. There wouldn't be any bite marks beneath her shirt to prove the damage was real, but she could feel the effects of that simple attack all the same, and it was enough to slow her movements as the small raven darted through the battle field, collecting the items of her success and blindly searching in the dark for some of her blades.
Mid-hunt for the small weapons, the sight of a giant caught her off guard and completely captured the girl's attention. Er... Well, he wasn't actually a giant after all. Just Klugh, the frighteningly large and surprisingly kind man she knew to some extent. Watching him in the dark like this, it wasn't too outlandish to believe he truly was the scary PKer other players whispered about. He was just too warrior-like in appearance for his own good. And standing among the shadows as he did now, scanning the thin group of players with such an intense eye, was a pretty suspicious act itself. But his intentions were clearer than day... all of those people who eyed him warily and suspected him for cruel things, Klugh was waiting and watching to protect them. Why else would a solo player wait until the last players were apparently safe before finding that salvation himself? He was a caring guy... and it pissed her off to think so many people were afraid of him. Once more it wasn't her place to feel such things, yet Feather found herself abandoning the task of searching for the other half of her blades, and instead settled into the shade of a tree to watch him until the other players disappeared completely. Before he could be so quick as to leave, whispered footsteps carried her lithe body to his side, eyes upturned to glance at him silently. For a short time all she could do was stare with a reserved curiosity; an expression of measurement, like a scientist making keen observations about on a new experiment. After just enough time passed to allow some sort of awkwardness to settle in, the barest of smiles marked her face in the darkness, accenting the subtle murmur of a child well beyond her years. "You're too selfless - Protecting people who think ill of you." Things became a little more complicated, then... Although confident in her intentions, a small trace of reservation choked her final words down for a few short moments. It would be a while before her distaste for making acquaintances could fade, but look how far she'd come in a single day? Talking alone was a feat she hadn't dared to indulge, but something about his simpleminded mannerisms convinced her to believe that it was okay to take the risk. "If we run into each other again, I'll buy you a meal as thanks. OK-?"
Morgana to Kaozuki/Morte-others of the raid
Morgana stumbled back after clashing blades with another player. He was so quick she hadn't seen it coming. There were so few of the little monsters left she allowed herself a brief rush of relief. "I'm a healer." She stated, half directing her comment to the reaper, since the other girl still seemed rather shaken. "I'll help if you'd like, once we get back into town." A part of her was glad there wasn't much left of the carnege as far as the goblins were concerned since they shattered as they died. Either way, she'd help whoever needed it, and if they declined she'd simply return to the inn.
Tensa finished what he had to do, and and with the handful of gold he picked up from the goblins, he simply returned to Grand Masai. He had to do some errands to do, so he proceeded to get his sword repaired. But then again, he also buys more ore. Just enough to make two swords, and he decided to do a two handed one, for the time being. He needed the extra ore, as, he's thinking that if ever the second forge isn't good, at least he'd make a third try, before blatantly be tired of trying. Besides, he wanted to make a nice sword, from his own hands, before testing it tomorrow. He sighed nonetheless, as he's thinking it might take an hour or two to finish his work, before he gets to finally rest. He also got his pay for the day, and as midnight came, he had 3 more ores to use, unbeknownst to him.
Klugh ~ Feather
Klugh allowed his violet eyes to shift down to fall upon the small girl whose own eyes stared upon the hulking man. Words slipped through her childish lips to snake their way up to his ears her words were small and seemingly spoken with a bit of heart as her words said. You're to selfless the words seemed to dance towards him once again speaking the only words of truth that he felt that same exact way for a moment, these people hated him because of the mistake he made the one mistake he made. I will buy you food he shook his head with a light laughter as the finale of her words slipped through, he then parted his lips and began speaking himself allowing the words to slip forth to her despite what she said.
"Me not hate these people, they hate me yet they still need those to look after them, they hate those that they not see good side of. Me protect those despite their hate, me help them despite what they see in me. You need to not buy me food, me protect you because me wanted me knew you deserved it."
He curled his hand around the hilt of the sword at his side, his metal gauntlet was perfect using them as weapons themselves, his eyes shifted to the small girl as she passed the final bounds to the city gates. He stepped forward afterwards his feet carrying across the ground the grass falling beneath his massive feet, his eyes shifting through between the gates of the Grand Masai where he slowly walked to his feet stepping not the slightest bit graceful towards the city, he stepped through the gates of the city and into the main capital going to buy a room at the inn.
Location~ Heading to Grand Masai
Tirian~ Azmeryth
Just as he would have expected of this stubborn woman, she instantly launched herself to stand right next to him with weapons raised, but they were lucky to see that the Moonlight Raid had been taken care of with as few casualties as could have been expected. Tirian sighed shutting his eyes for a second as the thoughts plaguing him faded. He turned to smile at her and then heated his weapon at his hip as he turned his neck a little bit. White hair falling over his eyes and the red marking that marked up his cheek perfectly.
"I am glad." He whispered thinking about her charging in, or him being forced to charge in that battle, he was happy to have avoided the brunt of it. People were now going about the field picking up the spoils, but at least they were being mostly fair about it. No one was super big on leather, and so he was quick to pick up a few 10 Gp and 2 pieces of leather, which would complete his design. He then returned to her side and nodded to her speaking out lightly in the soft baritone voice he used. "Lets return." He smiled and nodded to her once before starting up the hill to the bridge and eventually placing them both in the center of the town.
It felt almost like ages since he had been back here, with all things considered. He was still damaged, but sleeping for the night would definitely help that quite a bit, and allow him to not have to pay as much for healing services in the coming day. He thought he might just spend the day taking it easy tomorrow, maybe go and get his ore for the day and farm a bear patch on his own, things that were little threat to him, and it would give him the chance to use his Single Sword rather than wasteful effort with a shield he wasn't even ranking with.
Soon enough they found themselves at an inn and he stopped turning to face her directly in front of the light of the door. There was a certain peace he always found in her azure brilliant blue eyes, like staring at a sky that indulged you entirely right back. A slight smile formed as he thought back to the last time he had felt that slight warmth, but he pushed through the thoughts that followed, as the bloodied image faded with fire. "You did really great today, you will be one hell of a Reaper." He grinned whole-heartedly and placed a hand behind the back of his head as he chuckled a bit, but then came a slight awkward silence. "well… see sayonara." He said in a whisper as he turned around, a small tear fell down his cheek, and what remained of that image in his mind burned away into infinite darkness. He went off to his normal rag tag inn that he liked to stay in, the cheapest one in Grand Masai, and hardly known to other players.
He would be up a lot that night, thinking pondering about everything that had happened, but it was nice to be alone after a day like this. He scrolled through his inventory and finally drug out a crappy little portrait of him and her that they had gotten together on the first day this game opened up, before the announcement. It was his keepsake from that day. "I could probably beat him, so why am I so afraid.." He turned over playing the picture next to his pillow as he curled up a bit, and he whispered.
"I wonder."
Location~ Returning to Grand Masai
Morte~ Morgana, Kaozuki
Morte hadn't meant to clash blades with the young healer woman; he was just in the right spot at that time for such unconventional circumstances. He grinned to both of the ladies as he stood with Kaozuki. "I think it will be alright thank, you I feel you have likely exhausted your abilities quite a lot milady. He spoke kindly to Morgana chuckling a bit as he nodded in her direction. " Please do return to Grand Masai, its starting to truly get late." He said again to Morgana before he moved with Kaozuki and followed back to the Center of the City. "Ahh well as unfortunate as it is, I feel we will say our pardons for the night might we fair lady?" He spoke to Kaozuki again and smiled slyly as he started to turn on foot. " Perhaps I will visit your lovely establishment again, come the new day." That was the last he said before he vanished in an alleyway to sleep for the night wherever he did so.
GM Day Change Post~
The players were all falling into their beds now, whatever cot they had was warm enough to calm them from a day, and night of such tragedy but what could come with the following days. This was only the 8th day into this day and already so many lives had been lost. Soon they had to break through to the Second Floor, lest they lose whatever hopes remained for them.
The New sun came just as fast as the night had engulfed them before. Players rose, and the jingle of shop bells and Part time Jobs started up instantly. Of course it was like this every day in the grand streets of the all too familiar Grand Masai. Soon enough players would be out doing what they did, people of course would be fishing, and grinding creatures, or maybe it would be calmer, perhaps something else could happen.
One thing had not changed unfortunately. In the center of the great city upon that wooden pedestal, the "Great General" Heizen stood preaching to the people of victory and sorrow for those that had passed, that they needed to use anger to beat the bos of this floor. It was pathetic as a cowardly King preaching to a group of veteran Sheep. They knew him now for what he was, They called him the Cowardly Commander, and other such names and not a single person rose to greet the mans proposals unless it was to scorn or mock him with ill words " Why so you can lead us to another death trap oh great leader." He always had a curt response forcing people to accept blame upon themselves, and it was obvious that his charisma had died out completely with the crowd, which made him nervous and very, very angry. Heizen's days were numbered, how many; well that was left to be debated.
Location ~ Grand Masai ~ Inn/Courtyard
Klugh ~ Everyone
Dark violet eyes slipped open on the soft fluff of the pillow that danced beneath his head, a slight yawn leaving his lips as he slipped into a sitting up position it didn't take long for the warrior to raise from the bed placing metal boots against the wood floor, arms shifting towards the sky to stretch his body and calm the muscles. His right hand reached forward gripping around the black hilted sword that rested beside the fabric of the bed and equipping it back to the bare back of the male, feet traveled across the floor to the door echoing over the entirety of the empty room the wooden door slipping open and the hulking man leaving behind the calm collected of the goodnights sleep. His head nodding slightly in the direction of the Innkeeper with a light smile planted upon those pale lips before stepping through the door to the morning sun outside, the rays of light dipping down through the clouds to dance through his violet eyes.
Of course stepping into the courtyard of the city left many upon many sounds of a normal city, the vendors called out to players dancing back and forth between groups of people. Shopkeepers sending out the many different players to dance between the many shops to take packages back and forth, but what caught Klugh's attention more than anything was the armored man that stood in the middle of the courtyard shouting about the golem battle and about how they needed to move on to claim the battle of the boss of this floor. Klugh had expected to see many of the players gathered around cheering for the young captain but instead all ignored him paying no mind to the commander as he preached and praised the men and women who lost their lives at the hands of the rock creature that danced through days ago or so it seemed, eventhough it was only just yesterday in the games clock. He turned his head to the armored man making his way past the man's ramblings to the glass door at the end of the Grand Masai.
He stopped outside the glass door violet eyes shifting up to the hanging wood sign that danced from the opening, blowing back and forth in the mighty wind that tore through the city. The blacksmith shop the sign read blowing back and forth slamming into the metal pole twice over again and again. He pushed open the door and stepped in through glass and metal to the inside of the shop, iron weapons lined each and every one of the walls from mighty swords to cleaving axes. They all sat their seeming to mock the giant man begging to be held within the glory of battle, Klugh though turned his eyes to the mighty man that sat behind the counter mighty hammer slamming ever so loudly against the iron that sat on the anvil, the mighty man stepped forward once more arms folding over his chest as he glanced at the other mighty man violet eyes dancing over the man's apron and white shirt that lay beneath the red apron.
Klugh parted his lips to speak to the man, each word formed ever so slightly to the English language based fully upon what he had ever heard from the lips of Feather and Tirian. These things he had been learning ever so slowly as he watched the others trying to learn to speak to the members of this shop.
"I....I….am……..Klugh………I….I…w-w-wi-wis-wish……..to work……….h-he-he-here today"
The blacksmith's eyes shifted towards the mighty man a simple nod of his head allowing the recollection that Klugh could assist, he pointed his large finger to the back signifying that he would help make the weapons that have been ordered. Klugh moved around the counter and made his way to the back taking one of the hammers and aprons from the shelf and moving to the back by the flame of the forge.
Location ~ Grand Masai ~ Alleyway/Courtyard
Shadow ~ Everyone
Misty blue eyes slipped open with an angry scowl a huff leaving the masked man's lips as his head lifted from its curled position. The boy raised from the position on the ground his black armor seeming to shift as he rode to his feet, the sounds of yelling and shouting about the lost players. His eyes shifted to the courtyard that rested only inches from the shadowed alleyway, he reached his hand upward fingers curling around the chain that rested in the sky curled around another player's leg who tried to kill him while he slept he pulled the chain and the player slipped to the ground raising and running off quickly scared of the demon looking male. Shadow allowed another light yawn to pass through his covered lips leather boots dancing pounding against the ground as he walked forward clearing the other end of the alleyway in a few short moments. Misty blue eyes danced forward again watching as the armored man from the other day, the man claiming stuff from the other day. Who was he to claim that he had even been at the battle? Words slipped forth from the man's lips the chain hitting the ground with a loud clang to announce his arrival.
"Hey loud mouth, why don't you shut up because if I remember correctly you didn't lead anybody to victory you ran like the coward you are, now before you go about claiming all this shit I would look around, none of these people care for your bullshit run along and crawl back in the hole you came from because you're nothing but a damn rat."
The boy's voice was rather irritated from being awoken at such an early time by the shouting voice of a coward and this kind of made things a lot easier to accept, though once his words slipped forth he turned about his feet and walked away kind shakily angry at this point. Shadow shook his head beginning to walk in the direction of the gates that led to the forest outside honestly not caring about the words Heizen had to say to Shadows little comment that was actually bottom rung of his list of things to do as he stepped forth searching for the goblins that danced in the forest this time he would be prepared would slay that ambush, when he made it outside he leaped the first tree and climbed to the top hiding among the leaves and searching about below him he would ambush an ambush this time. The archers would be the first target and everything would be much easier this time and he would be ready.
