Kispen glared at a particularly painful to look at map. It seemed to be more pushpins than actual map, as it was the map he used to track the Eternal Revenge for the past month. It would soon have to be thrown away, but that would happen once this mission was over. For a while, it was obvious the Eternal Revenge had another specific goal in mind after their last raid. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that he figured out it was for the relics of weapons from an age past on some dusty old planet. He personally doubted that any of them even worked or would crumble to pieces underneath the giant captain's use, but of course a pirate wouldn't see that. He rubbed his temples and cursed Xarn. He would kill the stupid pirate one day, he just knew it. Until then, he was stuck in stupid little battles with the Eternal Revenge.
He swiped his tail across the map, sending pins flying everywhere. Not like he would need it after today, anyways. The Eternal Revenge had reached their destination and would be taking control of the little research ship soon. He strode out of his room, making his way to the kitchen area. A shot of ghil, his planet's local liquor, would calm him right down. Unfortunately, his trip was interrupted by a soft ping in his ear. He growled, scaring a poor new recruit, and answered the call. "What?" he demanded. The comm was conveniently hooked up to his brain, allowing him to use it even with his lack of real vocal chords. The voice of one of his crew members in the bridge answered him. "We have received a request to dock from Kit," she said. Kispen almost growled again. He hated that his superiors hired the "ghost" ship. As if he couldn't kill the bastard Xarn on his own. "Request granted," he said. He didn't like Kit, but it wasn't the other's fault. He just hated the insult to his pride, which happened to manifest as a dislike for Kit. He headed to the docking bay, where he could oversee the docking procedures. Within a few minutes, the bay was alight with preparatory procedures. Ten minutes later, and the ship was docking. A bridge was extended to meet the visiting vessel. Once connected, a hiss sounded as the area was filled with breathable air. After everything was declared safe, the docking bay was cleared except for Kispen and a few of his crew to welcome Kit.

Rothen smirked in amusement when Jaylin answered. She was such a jewel, bright and shiny, even brighter because she was surrounded by pirates. Male pirates, in fact. She was lovely and she knew it. She was also untouchable; she was Xarn's lover, and he had killed men before for even looking at her the wrong way in his presence. He chuckled, even as he was saddened by her status. He certainly wouldn't mind ending up with a catch like that. However, he liked his life more. But how much wrath could he really concur if she was just helping him? Xarn knew that he wouldn't do anything inappropriate. Besides, she was a very competent person. Even if she couldn't help him, he was sure she would be lovely company.
He pushed a button on his communicator with one hand while his others toyed with various mechanical parts. "If your duties permit it, then that would be wonderful," he said, smiling. He disconnected and went about his duties, trying to hurry and finish before the booster had to be used again. For a minute, it seemed that everything was going to be fixed and then he could move to the next booster, when there was a loud POP! and a small cloud of black smoke belched out. He coughed and swatted at the smoke, trying to clear the air, especially before Jaylin came. It would not do to look incompetent while she was around, for more than one reason; she had Xarn's ear and no one liked to make a fool of themselves in front of an attractive woman.
