Polarissima Australis

Jaylin stayed back on the Eternal Revenge. Her job was to make sure everything went smoothly, and she intended to do her Captain proud. When the time came, she would open the cargo doors and adjust the pressure for whatever treasures the Captian took a liking too; objects or people.

"Make sure you keep us stable, I don't want this ship to shift an inch!" She barked at one of the crew members. They touched a few illuminated buttons on their console and nodded to her, giving her a confident smile. Jaylin didn't waste any time, placing her hand on the Captains chair and gently running her fingers over the small diamond shaped communicator located on her lapel.

"How's it going in there sir?"

When the thing in the cargo hold opened Chir'da took a quick look to see if whatever was coming out could be a threat, but when she saw the man crawling with a bleeding head she quickly switched to a relaxed stance. If this man was a threat, she was a tree goat. She kept herself back to led Xarn do the talking. He was the captain now, of both ships, and she would make sure to let him know she knew that, for hopefully he would let her on his ship when he left.

[spacer] As the larger figure approached Roy looked towards it his vision bettering and worsening as he could begin to make details out. The first thing he noticed was that it was bigger then it seemed at first, the second was it was more grey then green. He looked at the creature with some sort of drunken stupor defiance as it spoke.[/spacer]

[spacer]"That's the worst, and at the same time the best way I've seen anyone enter a ship, ya crazy git!", it said. But to Roy it sounded more like a cross between a rusty garbage disposal and an angry bear. Then somewhere, deep down in his whiskey addled brain the pieces connected and he made a move to stand again. "I see now!" Roy started with a snap to complement his insight (he always wanted to do that you know) before continuing, "This is obviously a Circus train. You must be the Alien strongman from a far off land! If I would have any guess I would say Serbia. You sound like you are from Serbia."[/spacer]

Xarn's face suddenly turned to one of anger, as the one in front of him assumed he was a circus performer. Almost before the person was done talking, Xarn grabbed the little person by the throat and lifted him so he was eye to eye with him. "What did you call me?!" He shouted in the little person's face. "You think I'm some kind of fucking clown?!"
Before the man could respond, Xarn's communicator let out a beep, before Jaylin's voice could be heard. "How's it going in there sir?" She asked. He put a big finger firmly on the communicator before responding. "A fucker I'm holding here thinks I'm a damn clown!" He tightened his grip slightly around his neck as he said this. "And as soon as I've dealt with him, I'm having a look at the weapons. Some little hot, red thing here's surprisingly willing to just give it away. We'll be done here soon." He stated simply, before turning his eyes back to the man in his grip. "Are you expecting to survive this, little one?" He asked, with a menacing grin.

[spacer] Maybe Roy was wrong after all. Maybe he was a bouncer instead? No bouncers didn't try to kill you. Still he was running out of time fast as his air was being cut off by the enormous man thing's hand. So he took a chance and swung, his right fist shooting towards the thing's face and in particularly its left eye. [/spacer]

[spacer]"Definitely. Not. A Bouncer." Roy managed to get out, gasping for air as he swung.[/spacer]

"Sir!"

Ark immediately acted, throwing out a fist of his own to hit Roy's striking arm in an attempt to save the captain, as he struck out against the attack Roy was throwing out, hoping his actions would work to slow him down and keep him from incurring the rage of the captain of the Eternal Revenge, and likely dooming everyone to destruction.

"Nobody bashes my captain in the face!"

Xarn stared at the person in his grasp, almost in disbelief.
"You're either the bravest, or the stupidest thing I've ever seen." He said calmly, before tossing the man across the floor, sending him slamming against the wall.
"And I don't like fucking idiots!" He shouted after him, as he heard he hit the wall.
"Now show me the damn weapons, before I get really mad!" He suddenly snapped at Chir'da. Xarn liked a good fight, but when a unarmed and small thing like that thought he could take him on, or even hurt him at all, he got pissed. How could anyone even think he was that much of a weakling?

Laughing on the inside, Chir'da rolled her eyes as Xarn seemed to explode at the small weak human. Yes having someone challenge you as a captain was no small thing, but when the one challenging you was clearly unable to win and had no idea what they were doing, it didn't seem right to get so angry. Shrugging her shoulders at herself she quickly pointed out where the weapons were stored.

"Right through this door Captain." As she began walking through herself to lead him.

Jay stormed out of her cabin and towards the upper decks. She had just been alerted of a disturbance in space, and this was the fifth this week! Jay walked into the control room. Everyone stood up. "Colonel Jay," they saluted. She nodded and they continued on. She walked over to the intercom. "All crew members prepare for flight. We are headed for a disturbance in Black Diamond 24-6, over and out." Jay sighed and put the ship into manual, steering the ship towards the new location.

"Oi Oi!" Exclaimed Ark, shoving his lower hands into his pockets, the upper ones still possessing weaponry, as he followed behind his captain for good measure. "I may have been a fresh pick, but I'm coming too! No tellin' what these posh rats might pull on ye, boss man. They might just slip yer throat if ye get too comfy, heh!"

Ark shot a couple scowls to some fellows they had kept alive before following Xarn as a bodyguard of sorts, and to provide him his guns if the captain required them at any point, though the burraduan man was not one to fear his own death at the moment, prepared to cause a major ruckus while unarmed if need be. That was just the kind of thing his people trained to do back in the day...

Rothen frowned as he looked at the tech pad set beside him. There was always so much to do aboard the Eternal Revenge. One man simply could not do it all. It beeped as orders were issued; Jaylin at work preparing the ship for an attack. He sighed and tried to look on the bright side; at least he was going to be given time to properly work on the main booster without much danger. The only way to un-jam it was to have the thing completely off. He stood up, his joints cracking loudly as he stretched to his full height. He checked the pad making sure that the power was completely done redirecting before going to the main booster. He didn't want to end up being shredded down there. It had already almost happened once and he wasn't keen on experiencing that again.

Booms sounded in the distance as the Eternal Revenge started her attack on the research ship. Rothen smiled and closed his eyes, listening to the sounds of the attack. He sorely wished he could be a part of the attacking crew, but it wasn't his place this time. He had to take full advantage of the power redirect. He touched his communicator, connecting with Jaylin in the bridge. "How long until the attack is over?" he asked. Once the whole crew was back, along with the loot, the main booster would probably be needed for their "escape". If he didn't have it fixed right, the best he could expect was to simply not be able to get to full power. At worst, a piston or something could misfire, taking out the whole engine. He opened the hatch to main booster's room. The place was eerily silent, such a drastic difference from its usual noisy grinding. He dropped his bags of supplies and started working on finding the jam and fixing it.

Xarn followed Chir'da through the door, starting to grin happily at what he saw. Big, ornamented and old looking. Weapons. Larger than most that were common today. Remains of old empires, ruled by dictators caring little about their people, instead using their money on huge battle cruisers and dreadnoughts, which put today's largest to shame. And with titanic ships, came titanic weapons. The ones in front of Xarn probably being parts from some batteries. Larger than whole batteries today, probably taking a great deal of power.

Xarn started laughing at the sight. He almost felt like a thug having found an army weapon depot unattended. After a few moments, he turned his head slightly towards his men. "Lads, we hit the jackpot today! Get these things to the cargo-porters!" He turned towards Chir'da for a moment. "You've got cargo-porters on this thing, right?" He asked. Most ships with cargo-bays like this had them, yet he asked not to have his boys lugging the huge things all over the bay, attempting to find the teleporters.

[spacer]Funny thing about being thrown across the bay was that it gave Roy time to think and clear his head. The worst part of it all was that impact at the end but at least his vision had time to clear fully first. None of what he saw made sense. The big guy that threw him was obviously not human now and the red skinned woman looked close but something was off about her.[/spacer]

[spacer]As soon as the entourage passed Roy stood slowly. The pain was the major factor in this and its effects were obvious on his body as he began to hobble as fast as he could in the direction the others had come from. "Come on body..." He muttered to himself as he cleared the doors on the other end of the bay. He gave glance back to make sure he wasn't being followed before they closed completely.

[spacer]Looking around Roy found a console on his side of the door and began hitting buttons at random. None of them were marked in a way he understood, so he was trusting his gut. The first opened the door quickly, then hitting the button again the door slammed shut. The next turned on a red light as a rather audible lock was placed on the door followed by a Klaxon. Panicked he began to hobble as quickly as possible deeper into the ship. All around him a computerized voice spouting a message out in some language he didn't understand.[/spacer]

Jaylin smirked at her captains response to her inquiry. She silenced their connection and sat down in the arm of his chair. She crossed her legs over one another when suddenly she got an incoming call from Rothen. </SPAN></SPAN>

"How long until the attack is over" He questioned her, his familiar voice coming over the com very clearly. Jaylin let a small smirk cross her face when she heard his voice, tucking her long white hair behind her softly pointed ear and gently touching the com attached to her lapel. </SPAN></SPAN>

"In no time at all love, we're just shaking them up a bit so the captain has time to get the goods and get out. You need any help down there?" Jaylin licked at her lips, the idea of being in close quarters with Rothen made her spine tingle. Her hooves clicked against the floor as she stood up, walking into the hall and watching as a couple small tech bots buzzed by her, doing their routine maintenance. Something pleased her about being one of the only female beings on the Eternal Revenge. Flirting with pirates was something she never tired of. </SPAN></SPAN>

"I could come down and keep you company…"</SPAN></SPAN>

Kispen glared at a particularly painful to look at map. It seemed to be more pushpins than actual map, as it was the map he used to track the Eternal Revenge for the past month. It would soon have to be thrown away, but that would happen once this mission was over. For a while, it was obvious the Eternal Revenge had another specific goal in mind after their last raid. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that he figured out it was for the relics of weapons from an age past on some dusty old planet. He personally doubted that any of them even worked or would crumble to pieces underneath the giant captain's use, but of course a pirate wouldn't see that. He rubbed his temples and cursed Xarn. He would kill the stupid pirate one day, he just knew it. Until then, he was stuck in stupid little battles with the Eternal Revenge.

He swiped his tail across the map, sending pins flying everywhere. Not like he would need it after today, anyways. The Eternal Revenge had reached their destination and would be taking control of the little research ship soon. He strode out of his room, making his way to the kitchen area. A shot of ghil, his planet's local liquor, would calm him right down. Unfortunately, his trip was interrupted by a soft ping in his ear. He growled, scaring a poor new recruit, and answered the call. "What?" he demanded. The comm was conveniently hooked up to his brain, allowing him to use it even with his lack of real vocal chords. The voice of one of his crew members in the bridge answered him. "We have received a request to dock from Kit," she said. Kispen almost growled again. He hated that his superiors hired the "ghost" ship. As if he couldn't kill the bastard Xarn on his own. "Request granted," he said. He didn't like Kit, but it wasn't the other's fault. He just hated the insult to his pride, which happened to manifest as a dislike for Kit. He headed to the docking bay, where he could oversee the docking procedures. Within a few minutes, the bay was alight with preparatory procedures. Ten minutes later, and the ship was docking. A bridge was extended to meet the visiting vessel. Once connected, a hiss sounded as the area was filled with breathable air. After everything was declared safe, the docking bay was cleared except for Kispen and a few of his crew to welcome Kit.

Rothen smirked in amusement when Jaylin answered. She was such a jewel, bright and shiny, even brighter because she was surrounded by pirates. Male pirates, in fact. She was lovely and she knew it. She was also untouchable; she was Xarn's lover, and he had killed men before for even looking at her the wrong way in his presence. He chuckled, even as he was saddened by her status. He certainly wouldn't mind ending up with a catch like that. However, he liked his life more. But how much wrath could he really concur if she was just helping him? Xarn knew that he wouldn't do anything inappropriate. Besides, she was a very competent person. Even if she couldn't help him, he was sure she would be lovely company.

He pushed a button on his communicator with one hand while his others toyed with various mechanical parts. "If your duties permit it, then that would be wonderful," he said, smiling. He disconnected and went about his duties, trying to hurry and finish before the booster had to be used again. For a minute, it seemed that everything was going to be fixed and then he could move to the next booster, when there was a loud POP! and a small cloud of black smoke belched out. He coughed and swatted at the smoke, trying to clear the air, especially before Jaylin came. It would not do to look incompetent while she was around, for more than one reason; she had Xarn's ear and no one liked to make a fool of themselves in front of an attractive woman.

A pod shot off from the Illustrious Harbinger, sleekly shaped, like the old Terran Minie Ball bullet. The contained the Commander, and two others, both of them fully donning their combat armor, though their weapons were stowed. Kit himself was dressed in the standard Vakirian commanders uniform, a coverall uniform that was a dark charcoal color with a blue stripe over the left shoulder and a blue stripe around the left Bicep. The two escorts were Terran Humans, wearing Terran Ghost II light armor, black with white scarring patterns all over. The human escort at the controls of the Docking Pod called out to the Commander, a young male's voice, "Docking in 3.....2....." Kit cut him off, "No offense, sergeant I don't require a countdown, I can see. Please just dock us in." The sergeant nodded and pulled them in.

Once the Docking Bay Light fields went up, Kit stepped out of the pod, one of his Escorts following him. Kit walked up to the Captain and saluted. "Well Met captain, I hope you can tell me what this big hush hush mission is all about? I have a lot of Terrans and Vakirians back on my ship asking questions I can't answer." He said, his tone was respectful and kind enough, even though he seemed confused and irritated to be sent to the boondocks of the universe and not exactly told why. "Do you have somewhere more Private to have our conversation?"

Eronze had come along with his captain, Kispen, to the docking bay to greet the ghost commander. He had never liked the ghost type operatives, feeling that they were they were a bit too undisciplined, somehow. Yet he was acting politely as he always did. He stood among the others, being a bit taller than the others. He kept his tentacles behind his back, simply not to stick out any further. He gave the ghost commander a quick salute. At the commander's questions for the captain, Eronze simply stated "The conference room is available at the moment." In a almost emotionless tone.

Jaylin smiled wickedly as Rothen responded to her communication. Everything was stable on the bridge, so she decided to walk down to him for a quick "visit". Jaylin was a very interesting creature. Despite not knowing much about her own race of people, she was very intune with their abilities to manipulate energies. Her way was a bit unique, but she had no other experiance to base it off of.

Normally, Jaylin depended on Xarn to feed her the energies that she needed to survive, but that didn't stop her from sampling the energies of other beings when she got the chance.

"On my way then" She said sweetly into the communicator as she walked, briskly passing by a couple techs as they checked a sparking panel and simutaniously scratched their heads. Her hooves carried her effortlessly to the booster chamber, where she joined Rothen. Jaylin wrinkled her nose as the unpleasent scent of burning lingered around him, a small amount of black dust smeared against his forehead.

"Need a hand?" She said with a raised eyebrown, lauhging at him as she reached out to gently carress the grime off his skin, letting her fingers linger on his skin for a brief moment before looking down at her tech pad and smiling. "You've almost got it done at least"

Jay slowed the ship down as she neared the coordinates, remembering the repairs still needing to be done. She set the engine on idle and sat down, pondering on what she should do.

Xarn suddenly heard something loud going on in the room they came from. He barked at his men to keep working the cranes to get the weapons to the cargo-teleporter, before going back out to the room where the human had crashed in. That's when he heard what the voice was saying. "Emergency protocol #648, "boarding action" initiated: Emergency message sent on emergency frequencies. Self-destruction will commence in: 32 minutes and 57 seconds. Please stand by." Xarn stood still for a moment, letting the message sink in. Then he charged back to where the others were loading the weapons. "GET THE DAMN THINGS OVER TO MY SHIP! THIS ONE'S GONNA BLOW!" He roared at them, in an attempt to get the to work faster.
