Opposites Attract

Joey kept his head down, only looking up to takes notes from the presentation and lecture. His face burned as every time he looked up, it seemed someone else was looking back at him. He could feel eyes on him, and it made his skin crawl. He idly scratched his arm as if to get the eyes to leave him, but the feeling wouldn't go away.

Ana jumped, slamming her kneecaps into the bottom of her desk, when she felt something run down her spine. Biting back a string of curse words she let her head fall forward onto her arms as she breathed heavily. 'What in the seven levels of hell was that?' she thought. The person who normally sat behind her was absent today so it wasn't them. 'Well, whatever that was, oww.'

Joey blinked over at the noise of something being slammed into the desk, and saw Ana with her head in her arms. He looked at her curiously, he hoped she was alright. He looked back to the front of the room and frowned, seeing a shadow that quickly ducked out of his view. 'Great,' he thought and sighed, leaning his chin in his hand.

A few minutes later Ana lifted her head She wasn't in much pain anymore, but her knees still stung. Looking around she noticed shadow out of the corner of her eye and had to resist the urge to slam her head against the desk again. Oh no, not again. She didn't need this right now. She huffed and crossed her arms. Ah goddammit.
