[ OOC ] ~ SUNNEPHEIA ~ The Sundered World

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to bargain with devils? O_O

I dunno... you seemed to have a BBcode image tag interbreeding with an HTML image tag.

Type <img src= then the direct image link, then align=left style="padding:5px">

Quill: Bargain, no... Banter...nnnot so much lol

omg i think it worked....
yup!!!! whoopieeeeee!!!!

OK. It is time to take this show on the road!! 8D

In a few hours the crazy system should be gone :D You'll just find the story and the epic soundtrack. Then, we'll play it out Wushu way! We'll begin with the NPCs, played by me, then PCs, first come first serve, then the MONSTAHR >8D

You'll find any and all rolls & progress for the combat in the Combat Log of the main post. That way I all the general results are kept in a contained area that we can easily reference later :)

Now that we are serious about this I would like
posts at least once or twice a week during events (such as combat) and at least once every 10 days or so otherwise. I am sorry it has been such a rough beginning, and I can solemnly promise I'll do better next chapter :3 I thought it would be a lot easier than it turned out to be, but I'm really glad things got sorted out and we can finally turn all this talk into some solid RP!

_________So how's it going?

Any progress?____________

It's done? That's why I posted... You're all free to go :D

OK.
NOW we begin 8D

Everyone may now distribute Wushu points among their char's strengths!

TWO STRENGTHS: 3 Wushu points
THREE STRENGTHS: 5 Wushu points
FOUR STRENGTHS: 6 Wushu points
FIVE STRENGTHS: 7 Wushu points

MOBS, such as "Archers & Spearthrowers", will do a Trait roll for their attacks and will usually not have more than a sentence mentioning them. INDIVIDUAL NPCs will roll and post like PCs.

Wushu characters are defined by their Traits, which are rated from 1-5. When it's time to roll them bones, pick a Trait that's relevant to the actions you described. (If you don't have a relevant Trait, the default rating is 2.) Every die that rolls above that Trait's rating is a failure; those that come up equal to or less are successes. If no one's resisting you, one success is all you need. If someone is resisting, they'll have a bunch of dice to roll, too. Whoever gets the most successes comes out on top. (Ties go to the players, being the heros and all.)

The key to playing Wushu is to understand that everything happens exactly as the players describe it, when they describe it. (This is sometimes called the Principle of Narrative Truth.) Rolling the dice just tells you how much further those actions have advanced the scene. In a way, the dice are only there to let you know when to stop fighting (or chasing, or talking, or whatever).

Irrelevant traits will NOT have a default rating of 2, they'll have a default rating of 3. Traits that correspond with your weaknesses, however, will have a default rating of 2.

Hi everyone. I hope people will be posting soon. There is nothing wrong with saying up front, I'm too busy / not interested / not now etc. I have so many ideas for this RP, and I would love to see it really grow and be awesome, and you certainly are a great player team for that, but real life and having fun are always the two top priorities (in that order)! :D I want this to happen, but if it's going to happen, people need to post!

So please let me know if you do not intend to further participate, that way I can know if I have to shut down Sunnepheia for now to revive it at some other point, which will give me more space to focus on other projects, or whether we can make it happen here and now :3

I'm sorry for the many revisions and delays. I hope you all know I've always taken your feedback very seriously, and I'm loving what we have so far! I hope we can continue in the same vein.

I'll refresh my mind on Wushu and try to post tomorrow.

But... er.... are me and the Lynzy the only ones left now? >__>

I thought we had a lot more, but now I'm not sure :c

If no one else shows up I say we put Sunnepheia aside momentarily to get some more players on board. We can focus on Pégulis exclusively, that way we wouldn't have to rely on such a large player body. Just 2 more people could make the RP epic :D

The way I planned the RP originally, the three factions develop later to become dependent on one another, but run regular risks of losing a place in the battle for supremacy. This way unsuccessful groups, or groups where too many players left or characters defected to another faction, would not hinder other factions from their journey.

It would be a pity to narrow it down like this but it would be a far greater pity to give up the RP altogether! I really do love it ^^

That said, the RP is open to reconfiguring the original plan. I suggest that the players only try to solve the curse for Pégulis, for now ignoring the other factions, who, we could say, are for now still developing. Should we have lots of fun and finish the Pégulis storyline, the RP could move on to the next faction and people may create new charries or have the Pégulis ones defect and join the new faction to try to solve the curse there. Alternatively, if we've got enough, some people could choose to stay in Pégulis to represent the faction and act in its interests, potentially helping or obstructing the other players.

Lacking a player team in all three factions simultaneously interacting will make the piece less dynamic, but it could also serve to help narrow the focus on a core conflict and unite players better.

I would love to hear any and all ideas to continue what we've started here! :D

I'm still around, and I really want this to blossom. I don't want to put Katua aside forever. ^^;

That said, I wouldn't mind focusing in on one faction, and certainly wouldn't mind making a Pégulian character if that'll help move us forward.

I'm mostly confused about two things.

1) Are you talking about putting wushu points into the strengths we put on our character sheet?
2) What happens to the posts we've already made toward combat?

Also, Quill, I've got 4 strengths on my bio... but that only gets me 6 Wushu points.... which means an average of 1.5 per skill... which means I'm pretty shit in everything.

Or do we start with 2 in each skill BEFORE adding the points?

Yeah, yeah you start with 2 in each skill O_O Sorry, should've clarified! :D

Wow, that's really cool! But don't worry, Katua could be traveling through Pégulis or getting lost in a blizzard or tracking the dragon or something, she doesn't have to be scrapped just because we're shifting scenes to Pégulis O_O

1. Yep!
2. Probably not much for now :c Someday when the Kausteira battle is revived, you will be welcome to choose whether you want to just make a fresh post, apply the Wushu system to your original post, or just leave your original post as is with the corresponding failures/successes and then continue with the Wushu system in the next post. Whatever floats your boat :D

Roit.

And what's our dice pool max? Six?

I need to know the maximum actions per post that we can roll on.

Um. Is it OK to have unlimited? O_O If not let's go with 10. But you can only use the same Strength once a turn.

I thought you only picked one trait to be the threshold for all the rolls?

Yeah, traditionally you only use 1 trait per post. Just find the one that MOST applies to what you're doing. And the dice pool max is there to encourage more detail in the scene. 10 is pretty generous by Wushu standards, but it just means we have more incentive to write awesome posts.

I'll roll my actions now and see how it all turns out.

I thought it was a trait that relates to what you're doing.

For instance…

"Katy jumps out the window into the street below and punches a random passerby."

You'd make a roll for the jumping out the window's success, if your strength is leaping or whatever you'd be using a strength, if it's an irrelevant trait the base is 3. Then you'd make another roll for the punching's success/power.

The thing is, in some situations, like holding your breath underwater or persuading a guard, some people have traits mentioned in their CS – like being charismatic or being racially equipped to survive in marine environments. So that would qualify as a strength that you would then be more likely to succeed at, because you have more points to distribute among the traits.

Is this making any sense? O_o

Asmo explained it better! :D

Right, I rolled 1 success, so I guess that means Quill can post the dragon getting mildly inconvenienced by the shield strike before bitchslapping all of us.

I'll give some other people (or, well, 1-2 other people) a chance to react to all that's happened and make their own flimsy attacks :D Then you all are getting smoked! Oh burn! [Adrenaline decreases my maturity level by about 500%]
