Declan sang as best he could, this one song he never thought suited him or his voice. It had been a while since he did this specific song but it came to his mind like nothing. Notes and lyrics stuck better than any math equation in his head, though he did mess up a bit here and there due to being so damn nervous. Both Teague's lingering smile, getting brighter by the second and Elliot's thumbs up sent a hot flash of heat through his face yet again, making him stumble over a word or two. His dull brown eyes settled on his guitar strings and sang the last part as best he could. Visions of last years Christmas flew through his memory with Zoey's dimly lit face in his own apartment beaming at his singing, these were the times he had to cherish, the ones that could cover up the odd speckled memories covered in decade old dust and dying leaves.
When they finished, Declan took a quiet breath and remained silent, unsure of what to say or do now.
"Wow! That was so good! You two should do this thing more often!!" Teague clapped rapidly, filling the now silent dining room with an echo of his excitment. "Elliot, you play so pro and Declan finally manned up to sing!"
