Murder Game IV: Monokuma Rising

"Ratchet, change your vote now. Evidence goes against Frank being guilty as he is none of that pure of heart crap. He knows he isn't a good man," Robin gave the Punisher a sad smile, "Sorry, trying to save your butt."

Frank didn't know how to process this at all. Robin was defending him; having pity on him. That wasn't new; half the heroes from back home thought they understood him, but they all wanted him dead or in jail. He didn't respond and just fiddled with his gun.

"So you vote for me out of spite? I thought you would be different from the rest of us," Robin actually looked tired of all of this crap, "Fine, I don't care anymore. Do what you want, I'll only look out for myself, Frank, Erika and her assistant, Wuya, and Jack. Don't expect me to be willing to help anyone else for free."

This caught him by surprise, as well. Someone in the group wanted to 'look out' for him? He glowered at Robin suspiciously before finally calling out. "I want to talk to you, Robin, when this is over." He figured he should try to reach out; surviving on his own was proving a bit difficult and earning someone's trust could benefit him in the long run. Especially if it turned out his universe was overrun by the undead; he had to find out. If so, he just had one last thing left to do.

"City of the Dead"

Monokuma sits up on his throne to stand on the cushion. He raises his hands in the air before lowering them, as if he was bowing. "This trial has come to a close! The majority of you have decided to execute the bad dog, Cosmo!"

Cosmo, sitting amongst you in the Trial Room. You see him from above, as if a camera is hovering over him. A mechanical hand suddenly wraps around him, pulling him into the dark depths...​

A slot machine then appears on screen, scrolling between each and every one of you. Eventually it stops on Cosmo's face three times in a row. The text below says...

GUILTY

Good job! Cosmo is a traitor! Except, you all already knew that, didn't you?

... Monokuma is laughing.

Somehow, someway, the video feed shows outer space. What looks to be the head of a giant monstrosity sits suspended amidst the stars.

Cosmo, who you all can see sitting in space nearby, knows this place. It is a space station called Knowhere. It looks pretty impressive, but soon a different sight distracts from the grand station--

A giant Monokuma head appears, floating toward Knowhere. You could probably call it a face station. It's coming in pretty fast, heading straight for the space station! It looks like it might collide, even! You're not giving me enough face, you could say.

But-- the Monokuma Face Station suddenly steps, its red eye glowing bright. Face, the final frontier.

Energy starts to pour from the red eye, the glow growing brighter and brighter. It soon starts to blind even you guys watching the video! No, the face station is not going into hyperface.

The energy gathering around the eye suddenly explodes outward, slamming into Knowhere. Surely this couldn't be happening, surely it can't be... real? It's real enough for Cosmo, who has to watch it happen. Knowhere begins to crumble and degrade like it was little more than made of cardboard. Why the long ship, Cosmo?

The blast suddenly extends outward, expanding rapidly out into space. It looks akin to an endless wall of heat and energy. It's coming for Cosmo, and there's nothing the dog can do about it. In face, no one can hear you scream.

Cosmo is consumed, and your feed soon displays static.

The Ultimate Dog is executed.

With two executions out of the way and two traitors down, Monokuma is getting tired of this place. "You guys sure have been busy today! I think it's time we get out of here!"

A curtain moves aside to reveal the heavy metal door of the Entrance Hall. Quickly, Frank moves to open it, but he can't make it budge. "Not again," he mutters.

Monokuma growls, brandishing claws. "Try harder you dumb journalist! I'm glad you aren't one of my students if you can't even open a dumb door!"

Somewhere off in the distance, you all hear a roar. Leia screams, cowering under one of the podiums. Whatever it is, it's making quite the racket!

"I. Am. MegaKuma!"

This hulking monstrosity appears once again. It looks like Pretty Boy didn't kill it for good! It goes straight for Frank and the door, completely filled with rage. Lyle, standing closest to Frank, moves to save the journalist. He tosses Frank aside just in time--

MegaKuma collides with Lyle before smashing into the front door.

There is an explosion.

... When the dust settles, you see that the door has been blasted completely open. Outside lies piles of scattered and broken shipping boxes. Lyle's burnt corpse sits amongst them. You're all now free.

... The only issue is that MegaKuma still stands. You see that one of his arms is missing, but that it begins growing back. If you all want to leave, it seems you must get past this monstrosity!

River awakes to find her arms around a stripper pole. She's on stage for whatever reason. John Constantine awakes in front of her, slumped over a table.

"Sir Peter"

Ruby, The Noob, The Engineer, Lilia, Arya, and Cosmo awake inside a small single room.

All of you are tied by your wrists and legs.

Frank saw the Megakuma and raised his gun in an instant. This was an odd creature; it was a lot like the bear that had been taunting them just minutes before, just bigger. He pointed the gun straight at his forehead and fired a few rounds, just to find it wasn't doing much to it. "Damn..." He kept trying to find a way to get past his apparent defenses. This wasn't going well for him; a stab wound and now he might get mauled by a giant bear. He couldn't leave yet, though; he wasn't finished.

CHAPTER THREE DEAD END
"A Monochrome Wedding"

Monokuma giggles at everyone babbling back and forth. Most of them don't notice as Cosmo's voice echoes throughout the hall.

"Wait! Wait! Cosmo will take the punishment for Arya!"

"I'm changing my vote to Wuya. This game of hers is ridiculous. She wants you all to kill Erika for no reason." ​

Monokuma points to Cosmo and wags his finger. "Bad dog! No heroic sacrifices!" He then brings his hand to his mouth, slightly obscuring his wide grin. "Sorry Tactician boy! You all have to live with the slaughter of a child, whether or not she is a traitor! Your votes are officially locked in!"​

Despite the proceeding protests, Monokuma doesn't hesitate while he presses a button on his device. "Pay attention, transfer students!"​

Arya, standing amongst you in the Entrance Hall. You see her from above, as if a camera is hovering over her. A mechanical hand suddenly wraps around her, pulling her into the dark depths of the facility...​

A slot machine then appears on screen, scrolling between each and every one of you. Eventually it stops on Arya's face three times in a row. The text below says...

INNOCENT

Too bad! Arya isn't a traitor! Oh well, maybe you'll get one next time!

... Monokuma is laughing.

A new video starts on your ID screens, the camera slowly panning down to a dimly-lit dining hall filled to the brim with men, women, and a few children, all dressed in medieval attires.

Back in the hall, Cosmo yells at this display.

"Nyet! Nyet!"

Wolf-pelt cloaks and chainmail are common, as rugged, aging, old adventurers with balding heads and scarred faces happily make toasts with goblets of wine and rum. Pigs and beasts of all sorts have been freshly fried, served on platters alongside cheese, bread, vegetables, fruits, and all sorts of stews and soups. An orchestra plays from the second floor balconies, manned by several Monokumas, harping away at violins, cellos, and other string-based instruments.

"Arya is no traitor!

A familiar song is playing, one that carries an uneasiness to it, as a soft vocalist chirps away...

And so we spoke,
And so we spoke,

With nearly a hundred or so "Northerners" attending what appears to be a reception, the camera pans down directly to Arya, whom sips on a goblet of wine and begins to laugh at a jester. She doesn't seem to be aware of the situation she was in moments ago. Oddly, Arya is not dressed in her normal, peasant boy garbs, and if that wasn't enough, her overall appearance wasn't ragged, dirty, and broken. No, instead, Arya wears a radiant, grey cloak, an ebony black, hard-boiled leather breastplate, grey trousers, leather boots, brown gloves, and most importantly of all, a crown of iron-and-bronze spikes.

That Lord of Castamere.

The scene is eerily content for an execution, and for the briefest of seconds, some might be fooled into thinking it is not an execution at all. Celebrations of battle-hardened Northerners and their lords continue, followed by the occasional shot of Arya conversing with her subjects and fellow lords.

"Listen to Cosmo!"

Shockingly, however, the camera pans over to the front of the dining hall, where an aging, sarcastic, ragged, elderly man of nearly a hundred years raises a hand to halt the orchestra and silence the hall. Arya, in response, arises politely, adjusting her rightful crown.

But now the rains,

"Your Grace," the lord of the hall begins. "I feel I have been... demised in my duties. I've given you meat and wine and music, but, I haven't shown you hospitality you deserve." The orchestra eerily going silent as Arya notes the shuffling of feet going about behind her. Turning slowly, Arya's ash eyes widen in pure horror, watching a Riverlands soldier brutally stab her brother Robb in the stomach and another silt her mother's throat. In an instant, all hell broke loose, men silting one another's throats and the Monokumas on the second floor firing crossbows into the crowd below.

"This should be Cosmo!"

"ROBB!" Arya screeches, feeling three bolts hit her at once. One dug into back of her leg, digging deep into her right thigh. The other goes straight through her lower abdomen, ripping intestines and shattering blood vessels. Finally, the last bolt collides into her forearm, practically disabling her from using Needle. Collapsing onto the ground, Arya vainly and weakly crawls over, tears strolling down her paling face as blood seeps from her wounds. Holding her dead brother's face in her hands, the sounds of her subjects, her people, filled her ears, their cries of agony and death slowly weakening by the passing second.

Weep o'er his Halls

Arising, slowly and shakily, her arms limp and practically leaning against the tables, Arya leers up at Monokuma, on the verge of death.

"T-Traitor..."

"No, I'm no traitor! The ones you trust the most are!" The bear speaks nonchalantly, and in an instant, a soldier grabs Arya by the neck, lifting her limp body, and whispers softly, "The Lannisters send their Regards" before plunging a knife deep into her heart. Dropping her onto her feet, Arya stumbles away, coughing up blood and feeling her ash eyes flicker. Trying vainly to fight against her failing body, Arya collapses backwards, the sacred crown falling off her head and leaving her in the midst of dead bodies.

With not a soul to hear.

The screen goes to static, and for a whole ten seconds, it cut to an entirely different scene. It is a moonless night, perhaps outside of the hall, with a group of soldiers carrying along the reins of a horse whom hold a lifeless figure strapped within. As if on cue, a Monokuma soldier lights the torch, and to the horror of those watching still, young Arya is seen on that horse, decapitated and the head of a wolf stitched to bottom of her neck.

"The Queen in the North! The Queen in the North! All Hail the Queen!" the Monokumas laugh and cheer, unsheathing their swords and parading the corpse around. As the camera pans out, the burning flag of the Stark sigil, a direwolf, can be seen flapping away vainly, ever so vainly, as if it was trying to fight its inevitable demise.

The Ultimate Underfoot is executed.

As if to drive home Monokuma's point, Arya's body is delivered back to the entrance hall. Cosmo rushes over to her and begins holding her via his Telekinesis, crying.

Cosmo looks the group as he hold the lifeless Arya. He howls as he's at a loss for words. Eventually, he looks up the group and says...

"Fools! Cosmo was the traitor, not little Arya!"

"The ones you trust the most," Monokuma eerily repeats, laughing. "Would you look at that! You've driven a traitor to tears! Who are the real monsters here, I wonder?"

"In fact..." Monokuma holds up a paw. "You guys really did a number on the traitors during your stay here. Their numbers have already been reduced!" Your IDs flash to life as you see an image of Risa and Connor, crudely drawn as if by a child. "Let's just see if all your theories were right, shall we?"

The children's drawing animate to reflect Monokuma's narration. "You see, when all of you in library hit your heads... Desmond managed to wake up first. It was a good thing for all of you that he did, as Risa and Connor were looking to cut you all up into little itty bitty pieces! As a super cool assassin, Desmond managed to quickly disarm Connor and kill the boy with just a single strike!"

The screen displays a splash of blood in red crayon.

"Risa was better, though. Not what you'd expect from a Runaway! She managed to draw your protector into the Harvesting Room, but quickly found herself overwhelmed by Desmond's superior skills! He dealt lethal damage to Risa, but she managed to get away as a zombie came up from behind and bit the assassin!"

A crude smiling zombie appears, giving the screen a thumbs up.

"A bite in the neck will turn you in just seconds! Risa managed to make her way back to her friend Connor before dying, the door to the Harvesting Room closing behind her!"

Leia blinks, looking over someone's shoulder to get a look at their ID. "Wait... does that mean I was wrong?!"

Monokuma giggles. "Risa and Connor were traitors all along! Along with your dear doggy friend, Cosmo!"

Sandor sat there for a moment, shocked that the fucking metal bear was capable of such inhuman cruelty. The other deaths were horrid.... but that? Sandor was simply out of words. He remembered Cosmo admitting his guilt, and Sandor picked up his two-hander, growling, as he stomped over to where Cosmo lie in mourning. "HOW DO YOU FEEL, MUTT?!" he roared, swinging his two-handed sword down, as it smashed, harmlessly, against the TK shield. "DO YOU FEEL GOOD, KNOWING THAT YOU'VE CAUSED SO MANY DEATHS?! EVERYONE WHO HAS DIED UP UNTIL THIS POINT HAS BEEN YOUR FUCKING FAULT!" he continued, swinging his sword again. "JENNIFER, LILIA, LOKI, YUNO, OZ, WILLOW, RIVER, RUBY, ANNABETH, WILLIAM, LEY, RUFUS, ANASTASIA, DESMOND, ARYA!" he shouted, leaving out the names of Risa and Connor because they were traitors.

Dlanor saw that it was time to strike, seeing that PB had distracted the large bear. Before she would fully engage, she really needed to fuel her sword with the power of the Red Truth.

"I had previously permitted your DEATH. Now, I must finish the DUTY. FINISH," Dlanor spoke with the Red, her sword getting that ominous red glow. She was known as the Death Inquisitor back in the Metaworld, and she would not let that title be a title alone. She had to finish off this MegaKuma before it does too much damage. She did say in the red truth that she will show it death, and thus, she will at this moment. With no emotion in her eyes, she swiftly rushed into the scene, slashing and hacking at MegaKuma with her Red Truth-powered sword with no mercy. Her Red Truth doesn't end here though...

"FINISH. FINISH. FINISH... FINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISHFINISH..."

Erika stayed back as she watched the others do their thing against the MegaKuma. She smiled a bit, looks like Dlanor gets to play her 'Death Inquisitor' title against the large bear. Maybe if Dlanor didn't finish the job, she would have to step in since after this, Dlanor would be tired out from repeatedly using the Red Truth like this.

"You guys better be doing something. Dlanor's Red Truth attacks are probably holding it back!" Erika notified with a loud voice to whoever was in the fight, having a feeling that Dlanor would only distract it. Maybe she should assist her servant with some Truths of her own...

Wuya looked to Robin and listened to his means on changing the deal. "I guess in some case an exception can be made." Wuya said trying to act like herself. She stood and looked to Jack who soon stood as well. She immediately released his hand as if she never held it for a moment.


Finally the voting was over and Cosmo was killed. But not long after the mutant of Monokuma revealed that it was alive Jack gave a shriek and hid behind Wuya. Wuya looked at it and gave a confident smile. She looked to Robin. "I guess an new pawn has been added to Monokuma's game. Well as allies for now I will gladly keep our new deal and help." She looked at the bear and smile. "Hey mutant guess what I'll give you a free shot." She said grinning.

My bodies just been coasting along waiting for something like this too happen. In the Grand Temple I was perfectly ready to die, hell I was even doing it for a good cause. My spark, my life to save the world.

But then something unexpected happened. I met a woman. She was lost, but I sensed a sincere desire to help people in her. And then I saved a group of refugees with her and other allies. And I started to realize, I was being selfish. If I died, then the Templars, then Juno would win. But if you're hearing this then I guess I failed and I'm dead. So here are my last words.

@Mari Bayonneta. I know your story. But I can feel the desire too help people within you. You have such tremendous power, if you turned it against the evil within your society you could become something... else, something more. A titan. Able to change the course of your world.

@Joellie Edward. I've been agonizing over what to tell you, do I save your life or preserve the timeline? I've decided that you're more important than the history you create. So I leave you this, when your home is attacked, when your family is in danger. Don't fight. Take your son, your daughter and run. Run to the new land over the sea's. "Well, that was quick," Erika commented as things were done with that fight, having Dlanor disperse that energy from her sword as she put it away.

"How's the sword? At this rate, maybe even the Red Truth won't keep it together when in battle," Erika asked, seeing that Dlanor's sword was getting worn out.

"It is FINE. Though...a few more battle is all that it would be of USE," Dlanor stated, giving Erika some relief on that part. She was going to suggest a place to head to, but it looks like her dear Robin had been stepped aside to talk with Frank. As if she were waiting for something, she crossed her arms, taking a moment to glance at her surroundings. At least they were outside any type of trouble...probably.

Realizing Robin probably didn't understand, he explained himself. "It was a big war for my nation, but not one everyone supported. I did a few tours there... came back to my family, started training soldiers. I had a wife and two kids; a daughter, and a son." Pausing, Frank turned around and ran his hand through his hair before he could finish. He was pretty close to just saying 'fuck this' and trying his luck alone again.

Keroro was the first to notice the new map, as he wasn't watching the fight. He found two places that piqued his interest: Sunny Luck Fortune and Slappy's Fun Food Shack. After noticing that he was quite hungry, the decision was quite easy. "Giroro, let's get some food."

"That's the first good idea you've had today." The two began to make their towards their destination, but noticed an easier way to get there.

This was his policy with his men back in Vietnam, too; only his revelations were more about the fact that he almost became a priest, rather than the murder of his family. "We went on a picnic, one day. There was a big Mob boss there; the guy was old, on his last legs. Some hit-men showed up and opened fire. We happened to be in the way." His fists clenched noticeably. "My son, Frank Junior, died first. He took a bullet in the mouth; cut his screams off real fast. He was six. My daughter, Lisa, was next. She... wasn't so lucky. She took a shot to the gut. She bled out... while I told her I would make sure everything was okay. She was nine." He paused once again to collect himself. "Maria... my wife... She made it all the way to the fucking operating table. Bled out while I waited outside. It's been thirty years since that happened. I kill people like those men. They're long-dead, I made sure of that. And now, I know I'm going to join them soon."

He pulled out the Zombrex. "The scientists infected me. According to this box, I've got three doses of this shit. Three days, and I'm gone. I need to find the traitor before then. I need to finish."
