Iniji adjusted his uniform collar again, the surroundings were buzzing a bit and it made his head ache. A few more students went up and described their take on heroism, they varied greatly, but none of them really felt like it was applicable to him. An energetic young man said that anyone could be a hero, Iniji wondered if he would be fine with someone like him being a hero. I've never had a choice, have I? One of the more stoic-looking students said that being a hero was a job that one didn't have to enjoy doing. It felt close to what he was experiencing, but most people won't call his situation "building a career". What am I even doing...Why am I even here...Iniji lowered his head a bit more and stared at the table's glosses wooden surface as some argument-sounding chattering broke out nearby.

The boy perked up a bit when their teacher finally broke up whatever distant argument that occurred between the prospective heros. Yubiki...chan? Iniji tilted his head at the homeroom teacher's address to Amano Yubiki, a high school-aged girl whom he just met. Is Nomura-dono the frivolous type? Although the older officer's own description of what being a hero is did make Iniji feel a bit more at ease. If being a selfless custodian of societal order was what entailed being a hero, perhaps he could live up to those standards. After all, he isn't good at much outside of following orders, and if his life could be converted into something of more value, all the better.

With a sigh, the boy stood up and headed down to the locker rooms with little regards to the clamour around him, undoing that suffocating top button on his uniform in the meantime. Bright Luminary and his usual jacket were there waiting for him, inconspicuous against the backdrop of brightly colored and shaped hero gear. Iniji tossed on the long coat and strapped his weapon holsters tightly, as he has done countless times in the past three years.

WARNING: TOXIC SUBSTANCES
CORROSION WARNING

Two brightly colored stickers adorned the box that he carried, Iniji didn't bother to hide it. Not many others relied so heavily on a weapon to supplement their quirks, it was another way that he seemed "unheroic". His quirk was strong, absurdly strong under some conditions, but its weakness was also blatant, this was simply an effective remedy to those weaknesses. After one last check of all the pouches and trinkets on him, Iniji walked out onto the field, with nothing more than a few
"Excuse me"s to those he passed by.

Ahh, thanks Agi. Amon carefully ripped open another wafer bar packaging as Agi's relatively loud voice rang through the classroom, giving him that chance. His answer was honestly pretty expected, a bit more well-rehearsed than imagined, but expected nonetheless. Speaking of well-rehearsed...Yori can just say anything and it sounds legit huh? Amon didn't know if Yori just made that up on the spot or was that practiced many times, he just assumed that being an idol meant you could say anything and it would sound rehearsed. He kept on nibbling on the candy bar as Kuroi did his usual stoic "I don't care about being a hero" thing, Kuroi won't mind if he eats during his speech.

Ahhh, I knew she was scary...His tail stretched out and slapped the ground a bit as the tall white-haired scary girl with like a dozen hero names spoke up, she sounded like an old lady fed up with the youngsters. Amon heard from Agi that his parents worked with some Alucards and their quirks made them age weirdly, so maybe she was actually an old lady in high school for some reason. She had a point, but it was one of those "having a point doesn't make you a good person" types of points. Heroism was one of those things where the thought does count, at least more than it does in other lines of work. He wanted to lazily say something to maybe divide up the tension, since he doubted that Agi would really feel down about those comments, but someone else hopped in.

Ahhhh, Goto why did you do that? This class was an emotional roller coaster, or maybe girls are just makers of emotional roller coasters. Amon watched as Goto basically lashed out at the white glitter glue looking girl. "Goto..." He tried to poke the other by extending his tail tip, but luckily the teacher came along and broke up the arguments and told them to get onto the field. "Phew..."

"This is probably one of the few instances where the girl's locker room would be hell for a guy."
Amon half-heartedly replied to Kuroi's passing comment as he high-fived Agi.

"You think Suppression likes the flashy types? I thought it was about being all tactical or something." Spinning the locker lock with his tail tip Amon asked Agi about his comment earlier. The locker popped open as its contents were wrapped up by the demon tail as well. Amon laid out the pieces of his gear along one side of the locker room, taking up basically the entire slice with the 12-foot long equipment as he slowly snapped it onto his tail. Twirling it somewhat as he got used to the small bit of extra weight the demon bunched up his long hair, holding one end of a hair ribbon with his teeth and another with his tail tip.

"Yori's lucky that he doesn't need to do this," Amon muttered as he caught up to the few that left early. "Hello there, Isa-san, Mari-san." He waved to the girls who were out already with his tail as he kept on trying to tighten his hair tie, "Let me know if Agi is bothering you, not you Kuroi, haha-ow." The young man twitched a bit as he definitely tugged his hair too hard, "maybe I'll cut it short, Suppression is like the military right?"

Nodding at the male, her attention was taken away from the game of waiting, how long did they have left anyways? Couldn't be that long, right? Either way, it didn't matter now as the Mizu guy approached her.

"Huh? Ah, sup!? Mizu..shima right? Mind if I just call yah Mizu or Agi? Easier to remember, or hell, your hero name also works. Ion Storm, yeah? How'd you get that name anyways?" With his bow, she returns it partly and accepts his handshake, putting a little force and power behind her own, till it was a good time to just let go. Letting Mari go through her bits, Isa then smiles, or rather remains smiling as she looks at the other, it was one of the few traits she did inherit from her mother.

"So, whatcha think the next test is huh?" It was also around then that she took notice of Amon, "Yosh!" She says in manner of greeting to her fellow devil.

Mari largely was keeping to herself, having only said hello to the Oni, somewhat surprised she was among the first here, she had not taken as long as she had planned to look over the school as she had thought. Maybe for the best, she did not want to be the last one out here after all. It was then that Agi had introduced himself, accepting her hand, it seemed he was the sort to be more forward and call another by their given name.. A small matter, but he clearly would not be one to send into a high society situation. So far none of them were, except for herself.. Though there were a couple more she thought would be likely exceptions.

"Ah.. Well met, Agi was it?" Lightly taking his hand, she was polite and then released his hand, as her might jumps in sequence to the events around her, first there was Kaizen;

"Ah, yes it is, Shinkami.. Or would you prefer Kaizen, here? Though I must admit, I don't know why any of us were brought 'here'." Then onwards from that to Amon, who also used the given name. Was this something to do with their school? Either way there was no helping it now.

"Hmm.. Amon-san, wasn't it? Oh, I can't speak to the other one, but I'm not bothered by him."

Watching him catch his hair, she gives something of a nod, then continues to speak; "I cannot say what it is or isn't, but it seems to be the case that it is just another hero school that wants to fill a niche that ANVIL left behind for good reason.. More like a grand experiment and a test of patience for UA and ANVIL in regards to it. The stated goal was grouped units conducting more Proactive policing actions against criminal groups, so perhaps a, hmm.. police force? I have no doubt the training will be difficult, however."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Agi caught up to him, Kuroi had a none too pleased face. It seemed a bit moodier than his neutral expression, but also defeated and accepting of what was going on. He didn't really respond to the slap and initial question, save for his body lurching slightly in response to the force.
"Didn't know much about it until they invited me. Seemed like a good route. Besides, I can still go into ANVIL after anyway," Kuroi answered as Agi seemed to get carried away with another conversation topic, as he did. Though it was with the horned girl out of everyone. Well, the feline girl was there too, paired with the bug guy, but they were of less interest at the current moment, which may be saying something given he was indeed a giant bug.
Amon caught up to them with a comment that earned an eye roll from Kuroi. As if the boy hadn't resigned himself to his fate a year ago.
"As if you could leash him even if you wanted to," Kuroi retorted doubtfully.
Listening idly to the others conversations, he didn't say as much but the answer to the demon's other question would determine if Kuroi stayed or signed up with ANVIL. The only reason he agreed to this was as it seemed like, at the least, a median between HA and ANVIL. He didn't want to be a hero with all their PR and bullshit. If this just turned out to be designated hero collaborations, that would be a sign to bail in a year's time when he graduated.
"We'll see."
After Hideki finished his introduction, he sat back down and listened to the few other students that had to give theirs. Hideki would listen to Kuroi or lifeblood as was his hero name give their answer. He seemed to have a way different view than almost anyone else in the class. The way he talked about it, it sounded like he was comparing this to a 9 to 5 job, what the boy was saying wasn't wrong, technically he was right. Being a hero was a job, but to Hideki there was more to it than that, it wasn't just some random job to him or to most of the people in the class.
The next person to speak was his classmate from UA Kaizen Shinkami, while he hadn't had too much interaction with the bugboy as some people called him while they were at UA together, maybe that would change here. Kaizen gave an answer that Hideki had expected from him, while they didn't talk too much at UA, anytime their class did an assignment like this he did remeber Kaizen giving similar answers to the one he just gave. Hideki knew that the boy meant every word he said.
Hideki looked around the room, it seemed like everyone had introduced themselves and given their answers, definitely some interesting people in this class to say the least. Then as quickly as the room fell silent, someone started speaking again, and it was someone that surprised him. Vitalis started calling out a girl from earlier who didn't like Vitalis's answer. Hideki looked over to the small vampire like girl from his UA class as she spoke her mind, she really had grown since they first entered UA together.
Then soon enough Vigrdis started to speak as she was seeming to call out one of the boys from earlier, the other Alucard started going off on a long winded speech about how her way of thinking was the correct way, while Hideki didn't totally agree with her, he didn't totally disagree with her either. With pretty much everyone in the class Hideki agreed with some of the things they said and disagreed with some of the other things they said. No one had the one correct answer to this topic, if the school wanted this group to work together as a unit then everyone would have to become comfortable with how everyone else viewed being a hero. To be honest Hideki was still tangling with his own views of being a hero, from his parents being killed to then his years at UA he had changed his mind a lot on the topic and honestly it would probably change again.
After Vigridis had her outburst, Hideki heard another voice speak up, this time it was Goto. He was the guy who gave the very short answer and seemed to be a little full of himself. Hideki just kind of laughed him off when he gave his answer, but now as he was speaking Hideki kind of respected that he was speaking out against what some would say is a dangerous view of being a hero that Vigridis holds. Hideki chuckled a bit maybe a little louder than he had wanted too as he thought to himself "this is definitely going to be an interesting class."
Finally, their teacher Ota Nomura would stop the argument from the students as he would answer his own questions and let the students know what they would be doing next. Hideki sat and listened to the man's answers and they seemed to be pretty similar to how Hideki thought on the manner. Hideki would be interested to learn more about what their teacher thinks and how he goes about being a hero. Switching topics, the man would tell the class that they were to meet outside by the track for their next assignment. They would be doing some sort of obstacle course to test all of their quirks. With that Ota left the room and soon students started to follow out of the room.
Hideki would sit for a moment while a few people left the room. Hideki would then stand up and stretch out his arms before making his way towards the door, as Hideki got to their teachers desk he would stop for a moment before turning to look at the students still in the room. "
Well, it's been nice to meet you all, I can tell this is going to be an interesting year." Hideki smirked before turning back towards the door and walking out of the room towards the locker room. Hideki would make his way through the halls and to the boys locker room where he would change into his hero gear that was hanging up in his gym locker.
Hideki made his way out of the locker room and onto the field as he saw quite a few people from his class out there as they waited for everyone to arrive and for their teacher to arrive. Hideki would make his way to where the rest of their class was and would wait to see what was next.
Being scolded was not Amano's first idea of what was about to happen to her. She hadn't said much of anything and was only wanting to stop unnecessary animosity, But at least the ordeal was over. She slowly made her way back to the locker room, and started gearing up, zipping her bodysuit up, and readying her canister carrier, a large box filled with vials of Mnemu held in torpor. She looked around at her fellow students. They were all silent, and moving so slowly. A few of them remained, but Amano wanted to hold back and wait for Vitalis, concerned for the girl's wellbeing. She had never seen her act out like that as far as she remembered.
Still, she couldn't wait inside for her the entire time, instead patting the small girl on the head as she walked by.
"I'm free to talk later if you feel the need to." She offered to her. Vitalis and Amano had been together in UA, and as far as she was aware, Vitalis was happy to talk with her. Usually not about what was upsetting her, but even as a decent distraction. Then she heard Ichika bow in front of Aika, and introduce her self in such a formal way. Aika seemed confused and simply walked away telling her they'd get to know each other.
"Oh Ichika, you really have an... interesting way with introductions. Do you really need to be so formal?" But... Then again, she did know her parents. It's no surprise she wasn't the best with people.
Outside, Amano looked at the other students. It seemed the boys were getting along a lot better than the girls were already. Even the boys who hadn't known each other before hand seemed to already conversing in friendly conversation. Isa was getting along just as well with them, and Mari seemed to have a few other takers as well. Yori still wasn't to be seen, likely fixing his oh-so-important hair. Vitalis also was taking her time. In most circumstances, Amano would be happy to talk and get to know her classmates, but her concern for Vitalis, and her desire to thank her brother for stealing her words from so long ago kept her waiting by the doorway for them.
Goto, however, was raring to go. He had a bit more gear than a few of his classmates, as he strapped The Air Rail to his feet, and checking the systems of his Slipstream Bracers. Everything seemed to be functioning properly. His quirk was powerful, he felt. But gear and tech only made it better. Best to make sure it was working before blasting off at top speed. Engaging the Air Rail for walking speed, He stuck his hands in the pockets of his shorts and glided out to the field.
"Yo! Who's ready to see some real dexterity?" An obstacle course. Goto really wondered how the teach was gonna change this up for everyone. He didn't know everyone's quirks, but it looked like a few of them mostly are going to be bashing down the walls. As far as flight is concerned, only Yori possessed that, and his mobility in the air didn't hold a candle to Goto's. He glided casually toward the Ketsubutsu crew of Amon, Agi, Kuroi, and it looked like one of the new girls. Isa was it? Well her answer was short so she was okay in his book.
"So you like a shrine maiden or something? I didn't have you pegged as the pious type." He hopped off his rail and tossed his hands behind the back of his head. "But man, for a Meiko you seem pretty cool. I know Agi's probably already bugging you about beating the shit out of each other. That's just his way of saying he likes someone."
Amon was going on about his hair, and maybe chopping it off. And then all Goto could think about was seeing that air-head with a prim and proper hair cut, like that tight ass Kuroi. Actually, if he played his card's right be might be able to... He tried to stifle a laugh as he spoke. "C'mon man just do it. you've got a perfectly good set of scissors right here." He pointed at his tail, knowing full well of it's capabilities.
Katsumi had half a mind to listen to Vitalis's words, mainly because this wasn't the first time someone threw those insults her way. Self absorbed? Please. Someone so "self-absorbed" wouldn't be selfless enough to become a hero. A selfish hero didn't exist; because they would be too selfish to actually save anyone, wouldn't they?
Did she really care about what Vitalis had to say? Not at all. She's heard worse from the other girls at Shiketsu. Besides, why would the words of some lowly, disgraceful loser ever hurt her?
This was definitely going to be an interesting year.
When it was time to head towards the field, Katsumi stood and followed the other girls towards the locker rooms. It didn't take long for her to get dressed and head to the field. Getting ready quickly had been something she practiced multiple times with her mother.
"A model needs to be ready before her call on the catwalk. A hero needs to be ready before the model can even make it backstage."
Thanks to that advice, Katsumi practiced putting on her clothes until she was able to get ready in just a few minutes with ease.
She would then walk to the field, waiting with the group for their teacher to arrive.
Yori wondered if the girls of his class would be this difficult with each other for the duration of the year. They were a class as well as a team, right? If they couldn't get along then they were kinda fucked weren't they?
The boys seemed the nicest of the entire class, albeit a bit full of themselves, but nowhere near as bad as the vibe he got from Katsumi. Seemed like the only girls he could get along with was his sister and maybe the cat girl. Difficult to say this early on, but hopefully his mindset would be different before the end of the first semester.
Agi spoke to him about not stealing the show, earning a grin. "I was born for the show, Agi. Let's see how good you can keep the spotlight."
He'd gone to the locker room with the rest of the boys, where he would change into his gear. He'd undo the ribbon that held his hair together, running his hand through the sections it reached as he headed for the field. Having his hair down made it easier for maneuverability and using the needle parts of his quirk. Leaving his hair up would restrict his movements.
Yori spotted Amano at the door. He didn't expect to see his sister there, looking like she was waiting on someone. Was it for him, or for someone else? Well, regardless of the answer, he could take the opportunity to talk to her. It's been a good while since the last time he spoke to her...
"Well look at that. My baby sister all grown up." He smiled at her, his hand moving and ruffled her pink hair.
To her horror, immediately she and her cousin were called out by the teacher. He confirmed that they were only meant to answer one question, but that didn't stop him from reprimanding her, too.
The short yin-yang-hair girl sunk lower into her seat, almost fearing for her life. Why had she even shot back to the other girl?? That was a dumb dumb dumb decision! There was no reason! She didn't even want to move anymore, she'd just sit right here.
Vitalis looked at the one that touched her on her shoulder. It was the male named Kaizen. She recalled he was one with a relatively normal answer towards the hero questions.
His quirk was extremely noticeable, and it pained her inside to know he had to go through life like that.
But what she focused on primarily was the fact he seemed to feel concern for her. The fact that his hand rested on her shoulder but a moment, and he gave her a thumbs up helped her some. She appreciated his attempt to comfort her.
Amano did the same, with a slightly disconcerting pat to the head. Vit gave her a small nod to show she acknowledged what her former UA classmate said.
Yet another offered her a bit of comfort. It was a pat from a pink-haired girl with a tail. Specifically the tail was used to comfort her. This girl was Ichika. It was good to know not everyone was so unfriendly around here. The comfort was much appreciated from the few classmates who showed it.
When offered to chat, Vitalis simply shrugged, following the other girls to the locker room. If they wanted to chat, she'd simply listen.
A short while later, the Alucard was in the locker room, picking at her outfit in the locker. Vitalis wondered if it was appropriate for the current test they were about to do. But it was her hero uniform, so if she was going to be fighting in it, then she could do this in it. So she started putting it on. A moment later she was fixing the straps on her shoulders. And had her Gloom Dress on. She didn't put on any of her other accessories, leaving her legs mostly bare. But she did slip her folded fans into their holsters on the small of her back.
While she waited for Vigridis to finish dressing and leave first, Vitalis patted her unique sunscreen onto herself, rubbing it into her skin, making sure to carefully apply it to every spot. She didn't want to burn out in the sunlight. She had heard this sunscreen had been invented for her mother, to help with the sunlight weakness most Alucards possessed. Even still, Amaris had employed an umbrella as her weapon. That had been smart for her to do. Turn something she needed into a boon. Or that's what Vitalis had always heard, since her mother couldn't tell her herself. The young Alucard had always been inspired by that, and had tried to be clever in coming up with her own unique weapon.
After she was convinced her skin was properly protected, humbly Vitalis slinked out after her cousin, in the taller Alucard's shadow. Though maybe it had been invented for Ramiris..
"Meiea'shea," Vitalis murmured when she met Amano waiting for her. Only to glance at the male standing beside her.
Just barely out of the school and onto the field, she raised up her hand to shield herself from the sun, wincing at the light. So good so far... Her body didn't feel any burning sensations.. yet. The girl in the goth dress stepped out onto the field with the others, keeping a low profile.
Mentions: the teach
Vigridis was not pleased about getting called out by the teacher, but it had happened before back in Shiketsu, so she wasn't entirely unused to it. She simply sat back, listened to what he had to say, and left to prepare for the test outside. Still, what he said regarding his own answers to the questions she hardly agreed with.
Heroes don't protect, they save. He was wrong right out the bat. But she supposed that was semantics, and he meant both. Being selfless about it was probably also not necessarily a requirement, though Vigridis honestly wasn't sure about that. As she wasn't entirely sure what being selfless entirely meant.
She supposed, it was a confusing idea to save someone, you know, selfishly. How did one go about saving people selfishly? Didn't saving people imply you were being selfless?
The worst part of what he said by far, was that he thought of heroes as janitors. Now, Vigridis knew, that was utter nonsense. Vigridis would never lower herself to the state of janitorial work. But even more than that, janitors cleaned shit. They didn't do more than that. No janitor would selflessly do anything as dangerous as Hero work. While yes, they could be taken for granted, their position could hardly be compared to something as pronounced, vital, and outstanding as Hero work. They simply did not compare. Or perhaps, their teacher had a real low opinion of himself. That was bizarre.
Either way, the silver-haired Alucard departed the room after the teacher released them. She began to put her outfit on in the girls' locker room, at a pointed distance away from her cousin, who was doing very much the same nearby. It was very clear to Vigridis that Vitalis was steering clear of her, despite their lockers being right beside each other. Amusing. Her cousin was always a scaredy cat. Especially when it came to her and the other Alucards. Oh well, no matter.
After pulling on the silver threads, clasping on her shoes, and fixating her unique hair piece, the Alucard daughter stepped out onto the field. Glittering in the sunlight.
She spotted the cocky boy who had spoken to her in the classroom earlier. She hadn't understood what he meant by 'overlord' -she hadn't said anything of the sort, though perhaps he was onto something. But nonetheless she took a step closer to him.
Leaning over to Goto, she spoke, "Now's your chance, Hotshot. There it iss. Look, right up there." She taunted, indicating up towards the sky. "Go on. Rocket yoursself to spacce. Don't be bashhful. Put your money where your mouth iss. Impresss everyone. Go on. Vhe vhe.."
With a snide smirk, Vigridis stepped away, closer to the other girls, though standing clearly taller than them. She glimpsed back at Goto and gave him another smile.
Glancing at the source of the voice that was now speaking to her, Isa nods at Goto as he asks the question about her hero suit. With a smirk she speaks up. "Huh. Well, my mother is a Shrine Priestess, even if part time, and my Grandparents upkeep one, so I was dragged into that as well. Even got an outfit for it keheheh."
With that stated, what doubts Kuroi had were now even more alarmingly narrowed down, and the tests to come would erase any doubt. How would he respond to that, or question her? Turning her attention back to the others, she eyes over Vigridis briefly, a look of dislike visible in her eyes for just a brief instant, before moving on. It seemed at least her native school had more than its fair share of internal issues.
"I just wish this test would start, wanna see what this school is like, or our dorms." She says at Goto in part and for anyone else that cared to reply. For now all she seen this as was a waiting game. A very boring one...
Goto looked back at the white haired vampire. "I think you missed the point of what I was trying to say: I don't do shit for your enjoyment. Fuck off." He didn't have anything else to say to her. She clearly had her own problems to deal with, and Goto didn't give two shits about whether or not she'd realize that she's probably the biggest bitch in the yard right now. With that he flat out ignored her, pushing past her entirely trying to get an eye on whatever the hell Yori was doing.
He looked like he was talking up that pink haired girl. And damn she was wearing something spicy "Hey yo, boys. Is Yori talking up that girl in the class already?" He had completely zoned out for a lot of everyone's introductions, conveniently (or perhaps inconveniently) missing the key detail that they shared last name.
Goto looked turned back to the guys. He had always thought about how easily he could get girls. "Man what a lucky bastard. Chick's always dig him. You think its just the looks?" He looked at the only other girl nearby worth his time. "Hey Isa, whatchu think about that pretty boy over there?"
Amano was happy to see her brother, but she quickly tried to hide her smile, instead acting coy. "Oh I'm sorry, I don't believe I remember you. Though I might have accidentally tossed the jar with your memories of you out during last spring." She looked up at him, after her jest. Of course she didn't. In fact, she really missed him. She wrapped her arms around him quite suddenly "It's good to see you again. Good enough that I will overlook the baby sister part this time." She left a healthy amount of ominous sarcasm linger over that last word. That was when Vitalis came out, muttering something about the sun in her weird language.
"Ah Vitalis. Allow me to introduce you to my brother, Yori. He stole some of my words from my words from before to answer the question Ota-Sensei asked." She nudged her brother to introduce himself, while secretly giving him a look that was more to say: Be nice, not flirtatious.
"Huh? The Fancy boy? Looks like he's more worried about breaking a nail than most of the girls. Nice hair though..well..sorta.." Isa says, briefly fingering her own hair for a bit she really hoped something would happen to delay more questioning about that, when suddenly, Nomura showed up on the field.
Walking at a brisk pace, an icy haze fills the field around him, moving as he got closer, like a thick morning fog. Leaving the cloud behind him as he got close, Ota is all smiles, with a remote control of some sort in his hands. Gazing over the class, he waits till he has the attention of most, if not ideally all of them.
"Hello, again, class. I see most of you went with your hero wear. I suppose that is for the best. Now then, as to why I have brought you all out here, we'll be conducting a bit of a test. An Obstacle Course to showcase your quirk." With that, he presses a button on the remove, triggering the sound of whirling gears and of sliding panels to be heard.
"This will be a multi lane obstacle course, each of the paths will have a variety of means through them, though it should be notes this is mostly towards combat related quirks or making use of the physical and mental capabilities you have picked up during the previous two years of study in your original schools."
With that, the fog lifts, showcasing the field, a large tv screen and two mechanical camera drones, the course split into three lanes at three points, recombining before and after said points, with the final stretch having nothing of note in its position.
Along the first section was;
An area with slanted platforms, in which one would have to pick up speed to cross.
An area with A flat out straight hall, with a few hurdles here and there.
An area that contained a series of large air ducts or low level ceilings to crawl through
Then it lead to a room that split once more. The second split;
Had a swinging pendulum of "wrecking balls". If they were real or some sort of durable construct, would take a physical inspection.
A keycard puzzle path, which had doors that were locked to a console, a "simple" three step process.
And a 40 foot ladder, to a raised platform, that then lead to a pole slide.
From here it lead to a second joint section that contained a human adult sized dummy, that seemed rather simply made, sitting at a table, or rather tied to a chair at said table.
The third split;
First was an area with spaced platforms leading to a drop down below into safety padding
An area which contained steel shutter doors
And an area which contained a sort of steel pip maze, or rather a zig zag path with some areas to climb over, or crawl under that looked rather industrial.
Beyond it was what seemed to be a partial scale models of a Police Van and beyond it was the Empty space that lead on to a podium.
"Firstly, you will pick one path at each junction, what is in them and how they work, you can get a general idea from here or as others go. There is no going back, so pick wisely. If you should fall from your path, you will be considered knocked out.
At the end of the 2nd section you will come across a Dummy, free them and bring them with you across the third section. They must arrive safely to the final joint region. There you will place them in the Police Van, signifying that you have reached safety. The Doll weighs in at 50kg (112lbs). The weight of some of you, carrying your own body weight, or close to it, this should not be an issue, or else you'll never save anyone.
And then we have the 4th and Final Stretch. At the start of your run, declare which of the following you like, and you shall face my quirk in a limited fashion. Ice Walls, Sickle Barrage or Top Hedge Maze.
The first is a collection of ice walls, layered over a rampart. You must climb over, or force your way through Five walls, three feet thick of condensed Ice.
The 2nd will be a gauntlet of Ice projectiles, spikes that will be fired at you, these should not endanger any of you, but I will be using them at force to knock your off the lower running beam.
The Third and Final shall be a Hedge wall, produced over the top of the lower running beam. You must cross over the slick ice and reach the other side."
With all that said he pauses a bit before continuing;
"You will be graded based on the time of completion and distance made. The hostage must be saved if you make it that far. Other than that, the areas will depend on your observations and physical as well as quirk proficiency. A few of these areas are also designed off of things you may encounter in the real world. Once more, falling from a patch, or trying to jump gap around them is considered failing.
Also whoever Fails in this is removed from the class."
"Only joking, that is a stupid way to motivate and train forces. While it is within your capability to clear this path, even for those without powerful quirks, it is to gauge your abilities and provided supplemental Study and Training. I do not expect all of you to clear the final stretch. With that, we may begin. See me in person if you have questions."
"So who is first?"
With that Isa immediately bolts her hand up, alongside Mari. "Very well. The Oni has it."
Suguro, Isa - School Track & Field
Interactions: General
"Give me the Walls!"
Making good on her words, Isa takes off with the energy and heavy metal style she doesn't hesitate, taking the center path, a drone hot on her heels. Running down the flat out hall, her skin takes a bluish hue, as her horns grow widely and hair starts to lengthen into great strands, with white being more pronounced. With that she was off in a surprising rush, Jumping through window frames or straight barreling through other barriers, cracking and breaking them upon her body, fragments flying about. Having made good time on this section, she heads for the next.
Rapidly ascending the hall with the ladder, she climbs, arms and under hand, looping as she begins the long climb, sweat pooling below her, she shows no sign of stopping, her skin still looking the curious mix of purple with the bluish hue, taking a breather at the top, she jumps on the pole, riding it down quickly, as friction burns appear and seem to nearly as quickly heal, a painful experience but a very fast one. Running the rest of the way, her body seems to shift as her horns grow out larger, a red tint and more hair growing, the white being overwhelmed in most places with red hair, her smile looked more monstrous and her teeth fine and sharp as she barrels right into the 'hostage'.
Throwing the body over her shoulders in a fireman's carry, as she takes the surprising path of the steel doors, stopping at each one, she places her hands under it, seemingly more claw like, she lifts each door, one by one, lifting with her legs and overwhelming the mechanical motors as the bulwarks give way, sheer power and tenacity overwhelming the security doors in quick fashion. From there she continues her mad rush, manhandling the hostage into the van, as Ota made a series of ice wals, five in total, one meter thick and one meter thick between each wall. Beyond them was the finish.
Fighting with more finesse than the Teacher had expected the bloody Oni, attacks the first two walls from the outer edges, pruning back the wall in repeated and pinpointed blasts, so that she only cracked a portion of the wall where she could squeeze past. She did this for the first two, with each taking some time, clearly wearing on her bit by bit. Only on the third and fourth did her tactics change. Kicking at chunks or digging in with her hands after repeated strikes and impacts, did she make her way up and over the walls, slipping and falling on the 4th wall, she impacts on her back, hitting it head first from a height of two and a half meters up. A bit pissed at this, she nearly slips and falls when she hurriedly climbs to her feet and takes all of her anger and frustrations on the wall, head butting it, attempting to bite it and just punching it as quickly as she could, one could even hear her thanks to the drone screaming.
"ONI BARRAGE! ONI SMASH! ONI SLAM!" At different points as she double hands the ice pillar, finally finishing it off, as she crosses the line a little bit blood, completion time of 9 minutes and 12 Seconds. The enraged girl doesn't bother to speak to the rest as she finds a seat to take a rest, her aura giving off a hint of what her mother and grandmother produced, for at least one member of the team, or any others that may have known her mother, it was beyond question that the family names for both was a coincidence.
Nakao, Mari - School Track & Field
As Nomura has some work teams prop up and replace what the Oni broke, a whirling sound emerges, as some quirk user who was able to seemingly manipulate metal, repaired the doors, Nomura gives the go ahead for the next runner by name. Mari was next up.
"Ice maze!" She says, as the drone gets in position, taking a runners stance, she was quickly off, discharges of electricity popping off in her wake as the drone struggled to keep pace, constantly the drone was behind her, its camera filming the action from that perspective as the other drone zooms in from far ahead, to give at least a frontal view. One could have expected her to head for the long hall, but this was not the case, she headed into the room of slanted platforms and blazes across, jumping and darting, with the grace and agility of a cat, she was past there and continued running, past the safe zone and into the next room.
Stopping her, she hunches down into a leap frogging position, as she counts and figures out the direction of the wrecking balls, it was then that she noticed that being hit by them would indeed hurt, if not knock her down below, ending the run. Here she counted and would burst ahead between the swings, leaping into gaps, one by one till she was across.
At the room with the hostage, Mari cuts the ropes to the replaced doll, and sort of carries it in a piggyback fashion, heading for the next room split. Here Mari would select the spaced platform room, though slowed by the weight on her back, Mari leaped from platform to platform, her tail held out and swaying in the air to steady her body, somewhat hunched over she continued onwards with some difficulty with the longer jumps, but she finishes nonetheless. Her time so far stood at seven minutes and twelve seconds as she dropped off the doll in the Police Van. With the same confidence and speed, she proceeds upon the ice and is met with disaster at once. Sleeping and sliding, she fell over and landed on her ass, skipping on opening and into another section, she rolls, falls and just catches her arms around the ice segment.
Pulling herself up just barely, Mari from her on out slows down considerably and with a hint of embarrassment, as she continues onwards. With a much reduced speed and careful balance, intermixed with slow walking, Mari makes her way across, her final time greatly expanded to 7 Minutes and 47 seconds.
She remains silent and seems a bit tired as she takes a seat on the ground, allowing the next runner to go up.
Mitsuo Uchida
Once everyone had gathered, Mitsuo turned and paid close attention to what Nomura-sensei had to say about this next part. Multi-lane obstacle course. Sounded interesting already. Although his quirk wasn't the best aimed at combat, he was prepared to do his best to showcase his capabilities during this. As the fog lifted, he looked over the course, which looked well made in his opinion. As Ota provided further explanation, including about the choices and the last part, Mitsuo already began to consider his options regarding this choice. Hearing how they would be graded, he figured that regardless, it would be better to get a time rather than fall over.
Soon enough, Isa was the first to jump on doing the obstacle course, and Mitsuo started watching her carefully. Isa showed impressive offensive capabilities in the first stretch, with how she went through the obstacles without much issue. The second stretch, the climbing bit, Mitsuo thought she still did well, but he wondered if perhaps he could pass how well she did in that bit. Then came the third stretch, for which she changed before grabbing the hostage. She seemed to decide on going for the security door anf brute forcing through them. Seeing her begin to break each ice wall, he was certainly impressed. Yet again she showcased a nice bit of strength. There were a couple of moments he thought she was going to slip and fall, but she managed to save both, and make it to the end.
Next in line was Mari. She requested the maze, making Mitsuo's curiosity raise a bit more. She started off with the slated platforms path, an interesting choice, which she passed with what appeared to be relative ease. Next up, the wrecking balls. Once she was with the hostage, she went for the platforms, and after a bit longer, she made it to the van and dropped off the hostage safely. Then it was onto the maze. She did slip along the way, almost falling out, but made it through at the end, with an even faster time than Isa's. Once she was done, Mitsuo raised his hand.
"Ice Walls, please!" He called out, before going to stand at the starting point. He noticed the drone that had accompanied the two others before coming to observe him, and he moved his gaze to the course before setting off. His first chosen path - The airducts and low level ceilings to go through. Thanks to his own training, he was accustomed to such places, and found little difficulty to get through the airducts and climb the ceiling using his quirk. Once he made it through the first path, he quickly went through to the next junction.
Going for the elevated platform with the ladder, he made a slightly boosted jump onto the ladder using his tail, before climbing as fast as he could. It was far from being as fast as Isa, but it was the option he felt most comfortable going for. Once he was up, he slid down the pole. not holding too tightly with his hands but using his tail to secure his grasp over the pole, so to not cause friction on his hands. It was still painful on his tail, but he felt it was the right choice. Once he was by the hostage, he put the hostage against his back, before wrapping his tail around the hostage and securing him to his body like that.
Knowing which path he wanted to take already, Mitsuo made his way to the steel pipe maze, and begin going through and over as much as he could, making sure his grasp on the steel pipes is secure by utilizing his adhesive patches on his hands and legs. Although he was slower due to the weight of the dummy, he felt it was better to ensure the dummy arrived safely over rushing and potentially endangering the dummy. It took him a bit longer than he would've liked, but he made it to the other side, and carefully put the dummy in the van. Turning away from the van and looking at the forming ice walls, Mitsuo put his hand in his pouch. He already planned for this.
Taking out a kunai, he threw it at halfway into the wall. He knew the ice wall was thick enough thanks to observing Isa, and the kunai pierced the ice wall, becoming stuck for the moment. Jumping up, Mitsuo allowed his leg to land on the kunai for a moment before using it to push himself further up. He managed to make it to the top of the wall and land there. It was far from stable, seeing it was ice, and looking down, he saw the kunai he used slip out of the ice wall. He never expected it to just remain stuck in once he put pressure on it, seeing his kunai didn't have jagged blades. Turning to look ahead, he had 4 more walls to go over, and they had one meter between each. They did have plenty of space to land on top of each, being 1 meter thick, but it was still ice. Taking out another kunai, Mitsuo let his tail grab it, before sending it to the 2nd wall.
Coming closer to the edge of the first wall and making a jump to the second, Mitsuo used his tail to pull himself forward to the second wall.. Once he ensured he was properly on, he took out another kunai, and repeated the process. It was somewhat slow, but it allowed him to get to the fourth wall without much issue. Upon looking at the fifth wall, he did not take out a kunai yet again, this time making his tail into what appeared to be more like a spring. He steadied himself near the edge once again, and then made a jump, giving him further boost by using his tail as a spring. He made it over and past the 5th wall, landing on the other side with a bit of a rough landing.
After crossing the finish line with a time of 11 minutes and 22 seconds, Mitsuo went and sat down on the ground, before raising a thumb up to everyone else "Good luck!" He said outloud, waiting to see how everyone else will do.
Aika Yamada
Listening to Nomura's explanation, Aika remained silent and also watched as the fog lifted, revealing the course. It didn't appear to be meant to be long. Teach then kept explaining about the course, and she gave a glance over the course as he did, taking notes of the places he was refering to. Upon hearing the bit about making a choice from three for the last stretch, Aika decided to wait and see if she could learn about at least two of the three before making a choice. Once he was done explaining, the first volunteers already jumped forth.
First was someone who looked a bit like a demon. Aika watched carefully as she made her way through the course, mostly noting how she appeared to be more bluish at the beginning and faster, while stronger and redder at a later point. Once the demon girl forced her way through the ice walls at the end, the second girl was up. She appeared to be some type of cat, and not just that, but a rather fast cat. Good on her feet and pretty well agile at it. She looked carefully as the catgirl reached the maze she had requested. As she watched, Aika immediately decided against the maze. She would not do well in that.
Third up was a lizard? She didn't even realize they had a reptile in their class. Watching him go through most of the obstacle using his tail and climbing, she got a hunch that he wasn't the strongest in the bunch, but he definitely had interesting skills, and appeared to know how to utilize his body well. Once he was done ice wall-skipping, and doing his slow but safe run, Aika raised her hand in silence, moving to stand in the starting point, before looking at Nomura "Gimme the projectiles." She said, before looking ahead.
Starting with a dash forward, she immediately turned her diamond skin on, making her blue hue appear. Going for the straight hall, she ran through as fast as she could, jumping over some of the hurdles and breaking some of the obstacles using her toughened skin. Once she made it past the first path, she quickly rushed to the ladder. Aika didn't feel like she had the time to figure out the doors, nor did she want to risk it with the wrecking balls. Climbing up, she slid down, having no problems with friction as the diamond skin took the brunt of it. Upon arriving at the hostage, she turned her diamond skin quirk off, and put the guy on her back, piggybacking like the catgirl. However, she decided to go for the steel pipe maze and go through them. Safest, but probably also slowest path for this bit.
Dropping the dummy at the van, she turned to look at the last stretch. The projectiles from Nomura had already began shooting. Smiling, Aika focused on her quirk and turned it on, before intensifying it and activating her pure diamond form. She started moving forward in this form, which did not only have a blue hue, but her skin visually looked much more like a diamond than her normal quirk form. As she moved slowly, the projectiles hit her, but only broke upon hitting her. She was thankful for the increased density of this form allowing her to remain somewhat stable as she moved slowly over the ice.
About halfway through, one of the projectiles hit her leg as she raised it, causing her to lose her balance and begin to drop from the platform. Quickly activating her drill gauntlet, which released the small drills in the gauntlet, Aika reached with her hand to the platform, and managed to somewhat secure herself by planting her finger drills into the ice. After raising herself back onto the platform, which cost her quite a bit in time, she continued on. Staying low to be capable of securing herself faster, she eventually made it past the platform. With a time of 11 minutes and 2 seconds, Aika just went and stood in the back once more, having reverted back to her normal self. Breathing heavily, she kept her eyes on the course, waiting to see what she could learn from the others.
- Goto Hayaki -
"Oh yeah? Well not sure what else I was expecting. You don't seem the kind interested in that kinda thing" He replied to Isa's answer. There wasn't much time for more input as that was when their teacher called them together to explain what they were doing today
Goto was ready to get moving. He watched as Isa went first, pretty much destroying the course as she came across the end. She definitely lived up to her idea of a hero from earlier. Well, at least it was simple.
Mari went next, and Goto saw she was another speedster, or at least faster than most. Unfortunately for her, she was shackled to the ground for her speed. He watched her take the slopes rather than the hurdles. He knew what he was going to do.
Following the Cat was the Lizard, Mitsuo. He was a lot slipperier. Kinda boring to watch, moving at a slower pace and ensuring that he made it to the end. It took a long ass time that's for damn sure, currently sitting at the slowest. But he made it, so that's something.
Following him was the punk chick, Aika. She took a similar approach to Isa, but opted more for the "best defense" rather than the "best offense." He watched the projectiles, knowing full well that he couldn't take a hit from them without being knocked off the ring. But for that to be an issue, he'd need to be hit.
He started stretching, moving side to side. He had ran track back in middle school, so he was familiar with the standard routine of stretching beforehand. It was where he actually got his idea for such short pants for his outfit. He needed the freedom of movement.
"Throw some ice my way, Teach!" He held his hand sideways in front of him, and engaged the rotary device. He felt a stream of air brushing against his face, tossing his hair backwards. When he heard the start signal, he stood in place for a moment, hopping onto the circular current made by his Sliptream Drive. He looped around and around in a tight circle, after each rotation, he gained more and more speed. Until he was ready. The Air Rail engaged, and he rode at speeds many of the other students couldn't have made in such quick time into the first long hallway with the hurdles. Even though Goto could have easily just flown over them, he made a point hop off his air current long enough for some real hang time before continuing, doing a toe touch, heel touch, and amid air somersault for the last one.
He tucked and rolled moving into a physical run, however, his Air Rail sped up to top speed before he reached the end of the first section. He planned for an incline in elevation, which was difficult to perform in the tight hallway he was currently in, but a short burst upwards would help him speed up the ladder at least partly. He reached the ladder, and used the breeze from his gear to leap up part way up the ladder before he pulled himself up and climbed the ladder as fast as he could. The reason he picked this route had nothing to do with the ladder, and everything to do with the poll ride down. Friction burns weren't a concern for Goto, his gloves would protect well enough from that. He gripped the pole, spinning down, and he kept spinning faster. It was clear he was planning to sling himself back on course again.
His fans on his feet began to spin in reverse, to help slow him down enough to safely hop off right before the dummy. He didn't have the time nor patience to untie the rope, instead opting to break the back of the chair for an easy pick up. He threw the dummy over his shoulder in the fireman's carry. And rushed off to the pipeline, solely because it looked the most fun.
He hopped on the rail once again., moving back and forth as if he were actually skating it. Carrying this dummy sucked though. His balance was off, so he couldn't move at max speed without decoupling from the air current. Overall though, this was a simple endeavor as he moved as fast as he could in his current state. This section was a simple endeavor.
As he dropped the dummy off at section 3, He ran straight for the part he was most excited for. The first few projectiles took no time in being sent his way. He smirked as both Slipstream Drives on his wrists engaged, and the Air Rail whirred loudly, slowly floating upwards, and speeding straight into the projectiles. The first ice spear nearly knocked into Goto, but he didn't delay his forward momentum, instead grabbing hold of the circular currents around him. He Hopped from current to current, from his gear, himself, and even the projectiles themselves.
What else could be said? An obstacle course was the best place for Goto to show off his skills. He clocked in at an incredible 6 minutes and 50 seconds. "Sheesh, a bit closer than I'd have liked to 7 minutes. Probably shoulda just taken the platforms."
~ Amano Yubiki ~
Unlike the absurd display portrayed by blue blur that sped through the course, Amano was ready to take a slow approach to this. She had watched a few others already, and wondered a bit about how she would proceed. She had seen the first area in all three sections. The air duct was likely the best place for her. Mnemu could scout the maze-like structure. After that, she'd try her hand on the puzzle door path. No one had attempted that path yet. The weirdness started around the rescuing of the hostage. The ice based obstacles at the end made Mnemu effectively useless for what was about to go down. She had a plan formulating however…
She took her spot at the start. "Give me the projectiles as well." She readied herself, pulling out a canister of Mnemu from her bag. At the signal, she administered a chock and dropped a piece of ooze she pulled directly from her ear inside. She left Mnemu in the container until she reached the ducked and poured it out inside. The ooze spread thin, searching every possible corner before returning to her. She pulled some into her ear. "Thank You Mnemu."
With a map in mind, it was as simple as pulling herself through. The ooze followed close behind carrying the case she kept with her inside it's pseudopod form. Eventually she crawled out of the vent and found herself met with the new options. Puzzle time. Shouldn't be too difficult right? She wandered inside, gathered her slime from before in front of her, and pulled the reserve from her head out and sent them off to handle the first two doors, while she took care of the last.
It was a simple matter in the end. Press 1, then 2 then 3 in the right order. It took about a try before she had it opened and was moving along again. In the meantime, her two slimes merged into one with a simple detective: Get the doll and carry it through the pipeline in section 3. Amano, however, was heading to the suspended platforms.
The ice maze would have slowed Mnemu and placed him in a dormant state. It wouldn't have been worth the effort to try and scout ahead with him. So instead, she went for the clearest, most open path from this point onward. The best path for her would still be the Maze all things considered, but she had to take so much time doing the other paths so far. This was the best way to make up that lost time.
She jumped each zone with ease, until the last jump where her foot slipped. She barely caught herself, knocking the wind out of her at the edge slammed into her chest. She climbed back up, however, able to keep herself from falling. But she still had to deal with the last goal. As she made it in, her slimes weren't there with the doll, so she was left with her weapon by her side and her own abilities.
She caught her breath, clearing her mind from any fears and anxieties she may have had. She entered the next zone. Immediately she was assaulted by a fan of ice shards. She barely managed to dodge out of the way. She had to run. She picked up pace, rolling and side stepping as best she could. Unfortunately, it was eventually too much for her. One caught her leg mid jump, knocking her support from underneath her. She tumbled across the platform, barely managing to keep hold of one of the supports. But she could only hang on for so long, soon falling off the side of the platform, and being the first to fail, even if only barely, at 13 minutes and 10 seconds.
Her brother? Vitalis recalled Amano mentioning such before. This was the man? The smol vampire looked up at the tall guy and then bashfully glanced down. She flicked her eyes back up to him, and gave him a small wave. His answer to the hero question hadn't been all too bad. "Hi.. I'm Vitaliss.."
At that point the teacher began explaining what was happening. An obstacle course. It came up out of the ground using advanced machinery. He explained it, then said how the last stretch were unique based on a few choices, which he would use his ice powers to make.
Shortly after the class began running the course in earnest. She watched their attempts closely. Isa was as bullheaded as she let on, smashing straight through it. It was more of a course of obstacles, instead of an obstacle course for her. Mari did well, using her speed to great effect. The lizard boy did well, too, using his lizard-like body to make it through nicely. The pink-haired girl Aika looked great going through the course. Her quirk would be used similarly to Vitalis, except she just tanked stuff. She shined splendidly, and was real pretty.
Goto was much like Isa. He was overly-cocky and used his speed to great effect. Vitalis had to admit that.
She watched Amano closely, knowing it would look a lot like her attempt. However, when she fell at the end Vitalis looked on in sympathy. She was the first to fail. Was it a omen for Vitalis's run? Well... nothing to do now but see. She stepped up next.
"I'll.. I'll take... the.. projectiles, siir.." Vitalis murmured, finally deciding, feeling a bit of dread at her choice. The decision itself was nerve-wracking! How did everyone say their choice with such confidence? She hoped the projectiles wouldn't be too bad... She had some prior knowledge about them, due to how the others had dealt with the projectiles in their own way. It seemed to be the only one that she thought she could realistically deal with.
Okay.
Go.
Right.
When the signal to start went off, she rushed forward. She headed down the straight hall with the hurdles. The other one that seemed up her speed were the air ducts, but she thought she could handle this.
Vitalis began running down the hall. She was by no means fast when compared to other heroes, but she was here, so her physical state wasn't bad. At the first hurdle, the short girl leapt. Her hands caught the top of the hurdle, and carried her body over it. She was light. Extremely so. Like a cloud passing over the hurdle. It didn't even move.
She carried on. Each hurdle she caught and swiveled her body right over. With the last one her hands hit the rim, and her legs did the splits in the air over the top, the poofy-part of her dress allowing for such movement. She slipped right over the last hurdle easily, landing on the other side, and running to the next section.
Honestly, she wanted to take the swinging balls, but thought better of it, knowing she needed to conserve her mist-powers for the projectiles at the end. If she hadn't chosen them, she would've taken the swinging balls for sure.
She shook her head, then ran at the ladder.
The smol girl climbed up as fast as her ability allowed. Then at the top on the raised platform, she looked at the sliding pole in front of her. She jumped, turning a bit into mist to slow her descent. Near the bottom she became herself again and caught the poll. Only to use it to halt her fall, before she released and landed hand and knee on the ground, before stepping up and rushing forward.
Finally, she came up to the "hostage". Holding her hands at the binds, mist began swirling around those binds. Until finally they sizzled and snapped. Immediately Vitalis stopped using her mist.
She pulled at the dummy and grunted. This dummy was bigger than her, and weighed more than her! This seemed unfair. This was the point of being in Suppression right? To work as a team. People had their own unique uses. Oh well, no complaining about it now. She pulled the two arms over her shoulders, and yanked the dummy onto her back. With another grunt, she hefted it up, feeling her knees bend.
It wasn't that super heavy, but still. Vitalis began hiking forward carrying the dummy like that, dragging its feet along the ground.
She figured the easiest way for her through this section was to tackle the shutter doors. Not like Isa had, obviously. Vitalis lugged the dummy over to the first. With the dummy draped over her shoulders, she grabbed the wheel. "Nnufhh!" the girl grunted, pulling, pushing, and tugging; she knew this would be tough, but didn't realize how tough. Finally, there was almost like a relieved 'pop', as she pushed through the initial resistance and began turning the wheel. It was slow as the shutter raised, but eventually she got it up and carried the dummy on through. Every shutter door in her way went the same, and added a lot of time to her run, but eventually Vitalis made it to the van.
She set the dummy inside and stepped back, sighing, rubbing her forehead, wiping sweat off. She stretched, popped her neck and shoulders, then moved on.
Oddly, this next part seemed less daunting.
Until the icicles began to fly, anyway. Regardless, Vitalis rushed forward. As the projectiles flew her way, Vitalis used her bottled-up Life Energy to mistify her body. She still dodged, with quick misty zips side to side. There was no reason to 'be hit' if she could avoid. Vitalis seemed to perform better here, deftly dodging icicle after icicle. There were a few that would 'hit' her, only to faze through her mist.
Until Vitalis made it to the end and the rain of projectiles stopped. As she stepped off the course, her body resolidified and the vampire girl fell to her hands and knees, gasping for breath. The course had been harder than she thought. Her time? 15 mins 34 seconds. Slow.
Vitalis turned and plopped down on her butt, still breathing hard.
Vigridis watched her cousin with some amount of intrigue. But gradually found the smaller Alucard's attempt amusing. By the time Vitalis was done, nearly collapsing on the ground, the taller Alucard walked over and snorted. She had a smug smirk down at her cousin. Then stepped up next.
"Projectiles, too, sensei."
At this point, their teacher was going to form a complex about his own quirk. Oh look, she had also fixed that hiss on 'sensei'.
Vigridis was feeling extremely chill about this whole thing at this point. After watching her fellow classmates, she had realized something. This was easy. And the showing of some of her classmates was shameful. To the point she questioned why they were even here at Suppression.
Vigridis chose the first same path her cousin had. Running down the hallway, she leapt. Each hurdle the tall girl easily cleared without so much of a hint of touching the hurdles. Within moments, she was clearing the last hurdle as easily as she had the first.
Vigridis decided on taking the wrecking balls. The choice that Vitalis had thought about. Calmly she walked up to the first swinging ball. Then in a swift motion a sword-shaped light construct appeared in her hand, and she slashed it straight through what was holding up the wrecking ball. Cutting straight through it, the ball swung and fell to the side. Obstacle was rendered completely inert.
She raised up her hand and the sword fired out like a flash of light, cutting through the remainder binds that swung the balls. Each falling off to the sides. Now the obstacle was completely inert.
Smugly, she sauntered right through.
Right towards the hostage. She cut it free then tossed the dummy over her shoulder like a sack. She carried it effortlessly right into the third section. The spaced platforms.
Even carrying the "hostage", Vigridis easily managed to leap from platform to platform. She made it look effortless, landing gracefully on each platform, only taking a second to jump to the next.
She put the dummy in the van and continued on towards the last section. Which she immediately ran forward. As projectiles of ice flew her way, Vigridis "drew" out two swords of silverish light. She began cutting through them. The ice smashed and 'melted' into particles as she sliced and diced like a running lawnmower. Near the end, she felt like showing off, the swords forming into a shield of light that she held shoulder-height, and tucked herself behind, icicles bouncing off harmlessly to the sides. Finally, she released the shield, and simply used her slender form to dodge through the final three projectiles with grace like a ballerina.
Landing at the end of the course, she smiled, walking over to her cousin. But didn't say anything.
She passed her cousin who was still recuperating on the ground with a smile. Both of their powers required a similar charge. But while Vitalis was clearly spent, Vigridis still felt good-as-new.
Next she walked over to a certain spiky blue-haired boy. "You're fasst. But not as fasst as you think," she said to Goto. If there was anything that had showed the course had been a breeze for her, it was her time. With her time clocking in 7:42. She hadn't even been racing or anything. She was even faster than Mari, since she hadn't had any mistakes and nothing had slowed her down at all. Sure, it wasn't as fast as Goto's time, but he had obviously been focused on his speed. He was likely not to be too happy.
Brushing out her short cloak, in a stylish, haughty flourish, Vigridis walked away, saying to whoever was listening, or paying attention, "I've done thiss sorta thing for years. Thiss was a breeze."
Agi watched the monitors as the teacher gave the rundown of their physical challenge of the day. Basically, they were to show their physical attributes which made sense seeing how they just had a mentally opening conversation at the beginning of class. Agi mulled over his options not looking for the easier route, but the one that showed his classmates his abilities at their peak optimality. As he thought this over Isa went first showing her hero namesake in full. He was drawn in by the visual of blue, and red skin moments changing her overall horns. It also seemed to affect her personality and tactic as she turned red being more bestial as she wrecked the majority of the stage. In part, Isa did as her words promised as she bulldozed an impressive 9:12 through raw strength. The more interesting part was as she came back Agi clapped for her was the sudden aura he felt from the girl. It was definitely an experience as it felt like he was staring into the eyes of a beast of mythology ready to attack, and start a battle of the ages. Yet Agi simply grinned at the girl clapping all the same.
"One hell of a woman," Agi noted aloud. Next was Mari who rather unexpectantly revealed herself to be a speedster type like Goto, but where the blue blur used air as his function this gale showed off an electrifying burst showing parkour skills that easily rivaled Goto's. Though to be fair because of that added flair of elemental advantage Goto would probably have a hard time against this thunder kitty. Regardless of that though Mari impressively blazed through the trails until she, unfortunately, slipped right onto her ass yikes.
"Oof I felt that," Agi said under his breath though he gave off a grin as she got back up in a recovery roll, and finished the event at 7:47.
"Alright, Mari that was damn good," Agi clapped in equal measure. Mitsuo was next, and rather like a ninja showed off his flexibility, and nimble nature. Agi was actually excited to see a gear user in the as Mitsuo added Kunai to the mix showing a cool route to take. Upon his completion mark, Agi ran up to Mitsuo offering a high five at 11:22.
"Well done dude so are you trained in ninjutsu," Agi excitedly asked wanting to know a bit about the lizard boyo. After that interaction was Aika's who used a rather straight to the point the best offense was a good defense literally turning into a mineral which was probably diamond from the looks of both the hue of light hitting her, and based on the way she legitly looked. Her drill gauntlet more than sold him on the diamond theory. Rather pumped by such an unexpected tech use Agi was really starting to like the looks of this class. With Aika coming in at 11:02 Agi offered her a high five as well.
"Hell of a show," he complimented as he then noted Goto was next. He didn't really have to watch this one as he had been working along with Goto for two years, but he did nonetheless too cheer on his buddy. Within almost a perfect 6:50 Goto made it past the finish line.
"Way to let it rip," Agi joked and praised his buddy as the blue blur screamed at the shortfall of time. Even though he had the best time Goto was extremely competitive, and always would be. Agi smiled at that displayed point as he tilted his head at Amano, Yori's sister. Just like Yori, and Ichika; Amano was a childhood friend. While honestly at first Agi was shocked when he had been informed she was going the hero route a bit of him knew she could do it. Thus it was now time to see if he was right. Upon Amano's start, Agi was impressed with her solid momentum right up until the chest slam at the edge causing Agi to wince in worry as she fell at 13:10 seconds. He immediately rushed down to the fall zone heading straight for Amano as he halted looking to help her up as he offered a hand.
"You alright Amano," he immediately helped her up but was quickly informed she was alright giving her a quick pat on the back, and still showing excitement at her display he headed back up this time right before Vitalis went. he had to admit he was impressed with the small girl she was chugging along rather well. She was slow, but to be rather fair everyone before her were runner types. Vitalis especially shined at the last bit of the course showcasing some impressive dodge technique with her intriguing mist-like quirk that was almost like his grandmother Chitoses quirk. Clocking 12:54 Agi cheered for her at the finishing line that was when Vigidris went, and while her performance was impressive Agi was getting peeved by her unnecessary attitude look towards Vitalis and her rude words towards so much so that on his way to the starting line he actually lightly pumped into simply whispering to her.
"Let's take you down a notch shall we," he gave her a rather challenging look as his soft smile turned to a sharp grin.
"Alright teach make it rain," Agi huffed with excitement now coming in as the adrenaline pumped upon taking off Agi headed straight for the slanted platforms. At first, it seemed like an odd choice, but as he jumped towards the first one a slight mist started to form right under his feet, and upon contact, sparks flew as the mist literally pushed up slanted against his metal shoes sending him flying past to the third platform with a second mist collective pushing against his feet even further. He quickly blazed through the first objective with just two steps with impressive force creating dents into the two platforms he had touched.
Next was the puzzle doors upon this part Isa's question of his quirk name came fully answered as the black skin on Agi's body burst off into a collective swarm of nanobytes speeding towards the doors as Agi gave rapid mental commands. With his nanobytes at their most effective each puzzle was solved, and then undone before Agi got to the door making his run time that much better. Seeing how the puzzle was twisted in closing other doors Agi's ability to leave his nanobytes at the device made it all that easier for him. As he mentally went through all the button configurations it became clear the series he needed to input to get through each door without having to stop to reunlock another door in a session pattern. He could have also just burst through them to save time, but that would have defeated the purpose of this section. Upon the last door opening to reveal the hostage Agi pulled off his cap handing it over to the nano swarm that quickly ate through the ropes, and allowed them to wrap the hostage up safely in the fire-resistant cape. Holding the Hostage in a fireman carry Agi continued to make good time simply keeping his nanobytes off his body to protect the hostage from any surprises in case the teacher decided to throw anything in the last second. Just like Isa, the weight of the dummy didn't seem to slow him down much at all given his physique that wasn't too surprising though to be fair.
Agi's third choice was the spaced platforms with the mindset being the safest to handle the hostage. While this wouldn't always be the case if the option was given to keep the hostage from less harm Agi would take it. Not wanting to harm the hostage though this series of jumps he would perform would be less aggressive than the first trials. Though still constantly in motion with each jump Agi was still able to keep a perfect momentum. Upon arrival towards the van, his nano mist quickly got the van open allowing Agi to safely place down the hostage leaving his cape with them. As got back on track his nano swarm closed the van doors and recollected onto his body turning his skin black again.
Now it was time for the final he had to admit it was impressive how much ice teach could throw out for this event. With a big grin, and knowing the hostage was safe Agi decide it was well earned to have a little fun on this last stretch.
"Don't go easy on my account teach," he chuckled as he saw the first volley coming straight for him. It's funny how he told Yori to not steal the show, and now he was about to create an impressive display. As the first shot zoomed in on him he halted taking a knee for only a second before full-on belting into a runner's pace as all his nanobytes burst off his body creating a tornado effect slapping away, and even breaking down a good chunk of teaches attack. Agi kept his focus forward always making sure he knew how the volleys were coming as his ion storm kept him protected impressively well yet for those paying attention the circling swarm was getting smaller, and retreating to his body. Yori, Kuroi, and Goto would be fully aware of what was happening as one of Agis's biggest weaknesses was major temperature drop especially to his nanobytes. Yet as it grew smaller a sudden change in pattern saw the Nanobytes compact onto his arm forming a shield formation giving him just enough protection but now requiring him to take the brunt of the force as the ice wailed on his shield hand. Yet right at the nanobytes caved in and dispersed onto his body causing Agi to bravely tank a few hits that shattered against his nano skin as he clocked in at 7 minutes. Skidding past the finish line he shouted with adrenaline to spar. As he calmed down and neared Goto he taunted Vigidris directly with a wink for playful rivalry.
"She is right that was easy. Be rather embarrassing to be upstaged after taunting a faster time than her own right," he smiled at Goto high-fiving his buddy as he went down to sit next to Isa waving at Vitalis digging into Vigidris with a second wordy dagger.
"Man you you really did make that ice barrage look like it was next to nothing compared to the rest of us you'll have to teach me to dodge at your level," He chimed in compliment to Vitalis offering her a seat next to him if she wanted upon her recovery before turning to Isa as she seemed relaxed now.
"You are awesome by the way what's your workout routine?"
His tail slapped the ground a bit as the demon waited, patiently and impatiently at the same time, thinking about whether or not he should cut his hair. When their teacher finally popped up the class got a little tenser, though Amon wasn't affected in any way. It seemed like a pretty run-of-the-mill day one stuff, nothing too bad, they were third-year hero course students, mostly top students as well. There was no way any of them would fail too spectacularly...right? The last bit about facing off their teacher's quirk did catch his interest, if people were going to fail, it was probably at that portion.
The students went up one by one, Amon thought about volunteering to go early, but decided against it. He was air-headed sometimes, but that air isn't hot air. Hmm...Useless, not that strong, useless, not that fast, useless, not sticky enough, useless, too hard for me (literally). Ah Goto! Amon watched his blue-hued buddy zip through the air, I hope he didn't go out of bounds during that or anything...The boy thought as he stroked his hair again. That girl, hmm, not the combat type probably...that one's real small, she's totally got a disadvantage...Amon kept some tabs on every one of his classmates that went before him, while continuing to nibble on whatever snack he brought out with him. Ohhhh, so scary girl does that. His eyes widened slightly as he watched the white-haired tall girl go through the last portion of the course. Some of his former doubts were extinguished. Interesting, that's quite interesting.
"Heyo! I'll go I'll go." He stood up after Agi went, doing, well, Agi things. "Projectiles please sensei!" He shouted as he delicately folded up his snack's packaging and tucked it into his pocket while going up to the course. Stretching a bit, the boy strolled up to the starting line.
First section, in terms of speed, my type of mobility is most suited for...Red irises gazed at one of the splits as Amon dashed without hesitation into the hallway, though not as fast as the speedster quirks, his own speed was commendable, and he also had another move. Every time there is an appropriate hurdle, Amon's tail reached out towards it before his body approached the object, the tail tip transforming into a grappling hook-like weapon. Jumping a bit before the hurdle, the demon used the grip his tail had to hurl himself ahead, greatly upping his average movement speed.
Alright, encore time. Heading straight to the ladder, Amon started climbing it, hopping a bit and skipping rungs. But he briefly paused around 3/4 the way up, and raised his tail up to the platform, forming a claw that gripped onto the side of it, half jumping and half pulling himself up the rest of the way.
-Whoosh-
The air cracked a bit as he whipped his tail to the pole, wrapping around it tightly as he made his way down in a half abseiling fashion, a small trail of sparks bursting between the pole and his tail armour. He slide another 3/4 way before transforming his tail tip again and pushing off of the pole, into the hostage's room.
First aid basics, uhh, something something spinal injuries...ahhh whatever it's not on the test! A quick long blade extended out from the tail tip and cut the hostage's ropes, the blade-shaped then quickly transformed into a rectangular construct. Amon laid the dummy onto it in a lying position, the a few straps of red energy emerged from the rectangular construct, firmly holding the dummy in place, with special care taken at the neck and hip. The drones zoomed out, revealing that the setup is quite similar to an EMT stretcher.
Dragging the dummy along, Amon came to the next section with the raised platforms. "Ok guys, how about I focus on keeping the hostage safe, it could have a spinal injury, or something." he gave a small wave and shrug to the drone before delivering the constructed "stretcher" with the dummy on it to the next platform, "Watch carefully!". He said as he hurled the rest of his body across, in a strangely light, almost semi levitation fashion. The demon did this for every platform, gradually picking up speed every time, and leaving some suspicious holes in the platforms he passed through. The drones only caught it for the last few platforms, but some claw and drill-like extensions protruded out of the dummy's stretcher, locking Amon's tail onto each platform firmly as he just hopped across.
Delivering the dummy into the van like cookies into an oven...or professional paramedics loading an ambulance, Amon jumped to the next section. Alright toothpaste girl, let me try duel wielding too. He got a bit lower, trying to shrink his target, as the red constructed blade on his tail tip split into two strands. Dashing forward, the two red constructs extended out, making sharp turns and angles in the area in front of Amon. Smaller projectiles were sliced by a thin, sharp construct, and any larger ones were deflected to the side with a thicker but blunt one - of course, barely anyone would notice these details.
Good good, nothing's going wrong nothing's going wrong...hsssstttt- A blunt ice projectile has hit his leg, the pain was secondary, but the spot it hit was on the bone. A numbing sensation went up Amon's entire left leg as he could feel himself lose balance a bit. In an instant, he dug his tail deep into the ground he's standing on, stabilizing himself promptly. But looking up, another ice projectile was already on its way.
Should I just take this one, if my grip is good enough...no, that'll take too much time to recover, I'm no defensive quirk user, there's no way I can take that well if this were real combat. Amon concluded that he needs to do something that will both keep him stable and knock down the projectiles in front of him. Crimson red eyes narrowed a bit as the demon's white strands fell in front of his face, clouding his expression.
-Whoosh-
-Sching-
-Crack-
Three sounds jumbled together in an instant as the projectile went into Amon's attack range. He had raised his tail from its stabilization position behind him, whipped it at an extremely fast speed to knock down the oncoming projectile, and drawing a 270 degrees arch in the air, replanted it into the ground in front of him to stabilize himself again. He cracked a smile, satisfied with this system he came up with to deal with the numb sensation in his leg, and kept going onwards to the rest of the course, making more 270 degrees movements with his tail, making sure he's in a position to both shatter projectiles and stabilize if needed.
With a slide, Amon almost half rolled off the course, it wasn't too pretty, but he hopped up immediately and took a bow anyways like some gymnast finishing their routine. Final time...7 minutes and 44 seconds. "Yay! Under 8!" He went to high five Goto and Agi.
"Oh, right, uh, that duel wielding thing is pretty hard, but then again mine have to be connected together, our quirks are kind of similar you know, haha." He tapped Vigridis on the shoulder with his tail and casually waved to her as he joined Agi in speaking with her.
Shrine maiden? Mother?
Once again, Kuroi gazed at the oni girl. Goto didn't know it, but his prodding had uncovered more information useful to him. Unfortunately, it wasn't the information he wanted. The girl's lineage was becoming more clear, and it wasn't one the boy wanted anything to do with. Surely, pissing off Isa was a sure-fire way of pissing off another angry demon-woman, or so Kuroi believed.
Caught in his thoughts, he paid no heed to Goto's little spat with Snow White nor the girl Yori was supposedly "chatting up". His bickering and comments were par for the course, and he could tell that it was even more so for Vigridis. Though it didn't look it, he was quite a bit more wary now.
Turning his attention over to the teacher, it seemed their initiation was starting. First up was, unsurprisingly, the oni, who bashed her head literally through the obstacles. Whatever doubts Kuroi may have had about her relatives was now gone. She would be someone he would have to watch out for, if not for her own nature, her mother's at least.
Following her was one of the prim and proper girls with feline qualities. Her quirk seemed to have a bit more to it than being a cat, and she used her speed and agility to nimbly maneuver through the obstacles and course. Still, she almost blew it at the end, but still had one of the best times.
Lizard man was after and seemed to get through the course, albeit a bit slower. However, he seemed less phased by it than the others, brandishing a smile and thumbs up paired with words of encouragement for the others. If Kuroi hadn't missed anything, he hadn't been very vocal, thus far, and given his behavior was likely the type to keep calm and go at a pace that was most efficient and comfortable.
Then there was Pinkie. This girl seemed a bit cold, but thus far hadn't demonstrated the levels of aggravation that some of the others had. She seemed to have a type of hardening quirk, though he wondered what precisely it was. Did her skin just harden or was she adopting the properties of something? Either way, it was tough as she withstood and busted through most of the obstacles like the oni.
Goto went next, enthusiastically as always. His quirk emphasized speed, and he of course was one of the better times. It was rather unsurprising considering it wasn't the first time Kuroi had seen him perform in these kinds of tests.
Slime girl was next. Her quirk obviously wasn't the brute force type, and it showed. She was a support class, aimed to give information and assist the power types or tackle non-physical rolls. The active gelatin helped her with the puzzle, but was nullified by the ice and eventually, she failed as a result near the end.
The goth girl followed, and took to the course quite easily. Her quirk seemed to be utility-based. She could turn herself into some sort of mist or gas. Either way, when it came to strength checks and hard barriers, particularly with a hostage that couldn't adopt the same properties, she struggled. She did succeed though. The hostage weighed her down, but on her own she appeared to be a particularly infuriating target.
Snow White was after her and seemed to have some kind of materialization quirk. She could form items, possibly only or mostly weapons, from light or nothing at all. They were durable and strong, able to cut through most of the hurdles and though she was a pompous bitch, she had the training to back it up admittedly. She ended short of Goto, but still made a pass at him. He sighed.
"Get a damn room already..."
Agi went after and scored a fairly good time as well. He might have gotten a bit faster if he didn't stop for the puzzles and just brute forced it. Agi was one of those with a versatile quirk and could be a pain in a fight but also was skilled at other things you might not expect from his eccentric nature. He also commented that it was easy; a chide at Elsa. Though most couldn't tell at first glance, he could be a bit vindictive, though it wasn't too malicious considering Agi immediately got sidetracked by three new separate conversations.
Amon took to the course fairly easily as well. With how his tail worked, he was incredibly versatile, though as usual he was focusing on details that didn't really matter—It was a sack of dead weight, not a person bleeding out. He didn't really need to make a stretcher or worry about vitals.
As Amon returned and joined the conversation, Kuroi stepped forward to go next, readying himself at the starting position. He seemed to take a moment to stretch, rotating his body and loosening up before the it began. He at least seemed to take this seriously.
"I'll take the projectiles," He called out.
Starting off in a sprint, Kuroi stared straight forward with serious expression; less apathetic and more determined. When the route broke into three, he continued forward and his quirk became apparent. Bright red secretions expelled from his forearms. It seemed to whip into the shape of a sickle or blade, but the vibrant liquid was unmistakable. As Kuroi approached the hurdles, he sliced and cut, tearing them down as they threatened to impede him. He could've evaded them as easily, but going straight through without stopping was the quickest way.
As the three roads merged back into one and then forked back into three again, Kuroi shot left to go along the seemingly more dangerous path. Moving without pause, he seemed to have the same strategy in mind, slicing and slashing the obstructions that approached him, splitting them or cutting the rope that they swung from. His quirk wasn't very versatile nor was it good for support, but if he were in a game with a stat sheet, the offensive power would be maxed.
Finally, Kuroi came upon the part he was most at odds with; the rescue.
He was combat oriented. That's what he had been trained to excel at by his mother. It's what his quirk was suitable for. It was what he was good at. He never wanted to be a hero and as he saw it, different roles should focus on different things. If his priority was rescuing a hostage and not taking care of a villain or threat, something was very very wrong with the situation.
Nonetheless, as he approached the dummy, more crimson liquid secreted from his arm in tendril-like forms, snipping the "hostage's" restraints as Kuroi pulled him over his shoulder and continued.
As usual, he took the path most blatant and aimed for the shudders. This is where he would be slowed down as the blades protruding from his forearms retracted back into his appendage, leaving not a scar. The tendrils however increased in number, thrusting into the shutters and carving his own opening out from them. This did, however, slow him down a bit. Thankfully, he was rather quick in the first parts, so he may be able to afford it.
Once he reached the van, Kuroi rested the dummy in it, though he wasn't as nurturing about it as Amon, and proceeded to the final stretch. The tendrils retracted save for a couple coming out from his shoulder and blood seemed to seep from his hands, forming claws around them. Other streams escaped from his calves and stabbed at the sides of the thin path he was balancing on and acting as cleats. He took a low center of gravity and as projectiles hailed him, Kuroi slashed and sliced at them, keeping the same strategy from start to finish. To his credit, it worked, and he completed the course at 11 minutes on the dime.
Afterwards, the red streams retracted back beneath his skin, leaving no marks to be seen, and he let out a satisfied exhale as he made his way back to the spectators' spot. He wouldn't comment, but he didn't think that was too bad of a time.
Iniji looked at the other students on the field, they were chatting, or introducing themselves or making jokes. He blinked a few times at the other high schoolers, oh right, he was technically a high schooler now too. It still felt a little unreal, as if he was walking on clouds, and that one day he would wake up back to being who he was. The wind brushed across his hair a bit as Ota Nomura walked on to the field, explaining the basics of the training course to them.
The others, must have done these types of things many times, right? He quietly looked at the other students again, some excited, some nervous, some indifferent. Iniji was one of the indifferent ones, at least on the outside, though on the inside a sense of melancholy washed over him. He wasn't too good at anything other than hurting other people, not running through obstacles, moving rubble, dodging attacks, definitely not saving anyone. He was some coward that just stood and looked at people bleeding out, that's all he could do.
Iniji pressed his forehead with his hand, the texture of his glove felt bristling as a drop of sweat slid down his face. I'm panicking again, this is what panicking feels like, right? Excitable voices came from the direction of the course, the energetic oni girl bashed through the course, followed by the feline-looking one who zipped around the stages. The boy looked at the others with a blank expression, he didn't think much about what he would do, he didn't think thinking would help him know what he would do. Confident, and strong, and heroes, that's what they are.
The stoic-looking boy stood up and went through the course, his quirk seems to involve some sort of blood manipulation. Most of the other students' quirks were easy to see, or at least get an idea of just by watching them. Iniji sighed as he watched Kuroi return to the spectators' stand, and stood up himself, adjusted his weapon holster, and walked up to the starting line.
"...Nomura-dono..." Clouded eyes scanned the ground a few times before Iniji made up his mind, it would be the only one where he could find out what he wanted to know. "...Walls, please. Sorry for troubling you." His voice was quiet, like he was distracted by something.
The first section, the only thing I'm familiar with is...Iniji turned towards the section with the air ducts. He's had experience with these, infiltration, covert operations, and assassinations. It felt like a magic veil that let him be hidden from his problems. His steps were fast, but a bit hesitative as the boy made his way through the portion of the course, seemingly very familiar with moving in air ducts, even more so than the average hero course students.
A rather strange choice, but Iniji decided to go for the key card door. He remembered seeing the pink-haired girl, Amano, going through it. Her quirk allowed her to gather information. Though Iniji had none of that, his average by hero standards physical abilities won't help him much in the other categories either. He pulled out a few small vials of paint from his weapons holster, making different colored markings on the door and console as he did a bit of trial and error. Should I just use my quirk? When the door finally opened, Iniji realized that he's the only person who hasn't used his quirk after the second section. He took a glance at the console with some bright pigment splattered on it, the device suddenly cracked open and fizzled with electricity and smoke.
There was no telling if the drones caught that, but Iniji headed on and picked up the dummy, supporting it with his shoulders, the ropes already fell into pieces the moment he laid eyes on it. He took his time, since he's never really had to travel with this much weight before. Moving up to the next section, recalling the footage of the other student's runs, Iniji headed towards the shuttered doors. With a slow drag he walked up to the first door, and ran his hand on its slightly ridged surface.
Don't think, ignore that, ignore it.
Iniji bit down on his lower lip as he moved a few steps back slowly, incandescent eyes staring at the door. A few moments of nothingness ensued.
It doesn't exist. There is no such thing as light, no such thing as shadow, no depth no dimensions.
"Your world only consists of form and color, all else is irrelevant."
"...it doesn't exist, my world is only..." Iniji whispered as his expression became a bit empty, but his gaze still fixated on the doors.
-Clank-
It happened, the shuttered doors fell apart from the top, cut perfectly into a few horizontal stripes. Iniji kept the same expression despite the loud sound of falling metal that clamored around him, his eyes on the door beyond that.
-Clank-
-Clunk-
The rest of the doors fell apart in the same fashion, one by one, smoothly cut metal stripes piled in the doorways. The boy who caused it simply stepped over the, slowly, a bit solemnly. That was good enough right, did everyone see my quirk then, did Nomura-dono....Ayame-dono know I can do that too? Another strand of hair fell over his eyes as Iniji felt himself a bit out of breath. Carrying things really wasn't his specialty, despite all of his combat experience, he never really had any real physical training. Dragging the dummy over to the van and struggling a bit to load it in, Iniji took a few breaths before finally moving on.
2.8 meters tall, 0.9 meters thick, reinforced condensed ice, mostly opaque, little to no blemishes on the surface...Iniji ran his hand along the ice wall as he did with the shutter doors, though this time he's a bit more out of ideas. Flipping open one of the pouches attached to his weapons holster he pulled out a brightly colored card, put it in front of his face, and held that pose for a while. he changed the angle of the card, and his hair fluttered a few times, but nothing else seems to have happened. After a few moments, Iniji returned the card to his pouch and walked up to the first ice wall.
-Tink-
The blade of his weapon clattered on the wall, and a perfectly cut rectangular block fell out of the wall. It wasn't too deep, but it was enough. Iniji stepped onto the square hole he made, and used it as a boost to scale up the wall, with his sickle as an ice pick. That took a while, I'm most likely already last, Iniji thought. But he didn't really care as he did the same thing on the next few walls, slow and steady, despite his head and eyes starting to ache.
The final wall was upon him as Iniji raised his chorma card up again, but he suddenly noticed the drone that hovered nearby. Ah, what am I doing...He buried his face in his hands for a moment before raising his head, deciding on something. "...I'm sorry everyone, my performance must be terribly dull. I-I don't know what to do, but I really-I really want to..." His voice was a little shakey as he pulled out more colored cards, "I want to show off my quirk too."
It was a long silence afterward, Iniji didn't know how many minutes it was, he was only focused on one thing.
"Form and color...form...color..." The hand that held the cards shook as he kept on whispering to himself, to drown out the sound of his own heartbeat in the throbbing pain in his head. The pain turned sharp for a moment, as the boy's body tightened up for a moment, before falling down. The ice wall seemingly had no change, until the heavy metallic blade of Bright Luminary bounced nearby it.
The ice shattered, the entire block fell into pieces, perfectly cut 1:10 scaled rectangular prisms of ice littered the ground, like they were always that way.
I shouldn't have done that...but...Iniji stood up, staggered a bit, before passing out again after he stumbled into the final stretch. 18 minutes, 10 seconds. A time that would make anyone feel terrible, but Iniji somehow, felt relieved.
Yori raised an eyebrow with his own smirk at his sister, not believing what she said for a second. He's spoken to a lot of people; he's gotten good at knowing when someone was lying or not, and well, it didn't take a genius to see through his sister's words. Just as suddenly, she hugged him. He hugged her in turn, keeping it brief as a friend of Amano's got her attention. A weird language he didn't recognize, as well as a face he had to try really hard to remember. Did he ever see this girl? He remembered Agi and Ichika, but he didn't recall a black and white girl who spoke a funny language.
Thankfully, it seemed they'd never been introduced before. That was one worry about of his mind...
He caught sight of Amano's gaze. The 'no flirting,' gaze.
Please, what sort of man did she take him for? He was the cool, mysterious guy. Flirty was someone else's job.
He gave Vitalis a smile and returned the wave. How many bashful girls had he met during his touring? He'd lost count. But regardless, he always thought it cute. "I'm Yori. Nice to meet you Vitalis."
Introductions were cut short as their instructor explained the course to them. Interesting enough, and as he waited for his go, Yori watched his classmates. Each of them were amazing in their own right, with some just having fun with the course rather than taking it seriously.
It was unfortunate to see, but by the looks of it, Amano was the only one to fail...
He thought about failing on purpose so she wouldn't feel as bad, but he had a feeling she would be even more upset if he gave up because of her. If anything, he should make it through the course for the both of them. Maybe buy lunch for her afterward to help her feel better if she was upset.
Well, he'd think about that after his turn.
Yori, by the looks of it, could fly through the entire course if he wanted to. If he took the platforms, then the ladder, then the platforms again and finally the ice walls, he'd have just about gotten through the course without a scratch.
However, he knew his teacher didn't build this course just for someone to fly over it. Yori should respect his instructor's time and diligence by going through most of the course as intended.
Most.
"I'll take the ice walls." He declared once he got to the starting point. Yori gave a quick glance at the drones before his eyes returned to the course. Then once given the okay, he set off. His first chosen path was the obstacles. Yori knew he could have flown over this as well, and in a real hostage situation, he would have done just that. But in this case, he hopped over the hurdles and moved through the obstacles as best he could, using every muscle he'd trained in dancing and every workout under the sun his manager forced him to make a regular thing. He should thank her one of these days; her stupid workout routines actually proved useful in this line of work.
When he made it to the second path, he chose the ladder. Using his wings, he used the gust of wind to propel himself upwards to get a head start on the ladder.
He was damn well resisting the urge to fly right now. He wanted to; boy, did he want to.
"I could've flown, but you didn't set this up for somebody to just fly over this, did you?" Yori asked aloud to the drones as if they could say something back.
And so, Yori climbed up the ladder as fast as he could, controlling his breathing. He reminded himself in his head that he's done worse for showbiz. He's had to get dressed and undressed within 5 minutes in between sets multiple times in the same setting. He's run more than this. He's had his damn exercises and dance routines.
'This is nothing!' Yori repeated to himself until he made it to the top of the ladder.
He grabbed the pole with one hand and with the pole between his thighs, he slid down. Yori used this opportunity to catch his breath, knowing that he was almost there. He just needed to get the stupid doll where it needed to then get to the end and this would all be over.
There he was met with the dummy, who he inwardly named "Peach." Making some needles out of his hair, Yori used them to slice the rope off of it then picked the dummy up bridal style.
'Just a bit more, Peach. You'll see Mario soon you piece of shit...' He thought to himself as the tiredness of the exercise was slowly catching up to him. He needed to keep moving 'less he wanted to crash.
When he made it to the third installment, he chose the spaced platforms. Holding the dummy tight and his wings spread, Yori would leap from platform to platform, using his wings to help him glide from one to the other. When he made it to the other side, he set the dummy inside of the van then ran for the final obstacle.
The walls.
With his wings spread out, Yori flapped them hard, getting over the walls quickly and easily before landing on his feet at the other side.
He crossed the finish line at 11 minutes and 26 seconds. Just short of Mitsuo.
Yori, again, tried to control his breathing as much as he wanted to just huff and puff. But before he left he noticed one of his classmates on the ground passed out.
"Hey... You alright..?" He asked Iniji, kneeling down to check the other's breathing.
Seeing that Iniji was in fact breathing, just unconscious, he reached down and picked up Iniji bridal style to get him off the track. Yori's arms would hate him for this later, but he'd rather his classmate not end up getting accidentally stepped on by the next person.
"Better places to have a nap you know..." He told Iniji's unconscious body as he took him to the sidelines.
~Katsumi Takeshi~
Mentions- Students in general
Her classmates were interesting. Oh they most certainly were interesting.
Their quirks were quite good, but not as good as hers of course.
There was a lot of versatility and usefulness of them, but only if they knew how to use it. Many have proven stupid, and others have proven less than competent. The pink girl, so far, had been the only failure of the group; rightfully deserved. Maybe Katsumi should grace her with a bit of tutoring; with some further training Amano wouldn't be so pathetic.
Katsumi could see that Amano had a blade with her, but she didn't utilize it at all. The poor sword, rusting away while its owner was so careless...
Katsumi only had one goal in mind when it was her turn to go.
'Hmph. I will not be the fastest, damn those speedy bastards, but I could at least beat the flaunty toothpaste. A Takeshi can do nothing less but humiliate the peasants.'
Having watched as the others gone, she had picked out the optimal path for herself and her quirk. A lot of these obstacles were much like what her father had trained her in. If she were to lose here- no, that was impossible. She'd have to be downright pathetic to lose in such a simple course.
She would be exceptional, just as her father expected her to.
"I will take the walls as well!" She announced to her teacher, doing a few brief stretches at the starting line.
Katsumi readied herself, charging her feet to enhance her running. Then, she took off for the first part; the hurdles.
Though she wasn't nearly as fast as her speedy companions, she was certainly much faster than normal. She jumped and sped through the hurdles without issue, Katsumi focused on beating the clock rather than going for style points.
She could flourish as much as she wanted after she was finished.
The second path she chose was the wrecking balls. Katsumi stopped for a moment, studying the pattern as they swung. Then, when she decided the timing was right, she moved.
Katsumi avoided the first with ease and stopped herself from going too close to the second one. As it swung by she dashed to get through the second and third. With more stops, dashes, and a dive and roll to get to the other side, Katsumi quickly recovered and headed straight for the dummy that was tied in the chair.
Unsheathing her blade, Katsumi quickly cut the ropes off the dummy in a few slashes then returned the sword in her scabbard. She would then grabbed one end of the doll and hoisted it onto her shoulders in a fireman carry.
'The peasants will be much fatter than this doll... Show no weakness.'
The metal of the next obstacles would not allow her to just melt her way through them. So, she would have to take the path that would cost her the most amount of time. And damn it all she refused to let it get the best of her!
Katsumi ran straight for the steel pipe maze. This would be far trickier than just running through like she'd done with hurdles and the wrecking balls. She unsheathed her sword again, making a thin slash in the metal to mark her way as she ran through. Katsumi's feet were electrified to assist her in getting through this part of the course much faster than it would normally take a hero. However, she still took longer than she liked, and for that she cursed herself.
She placed the doll into the van and quickly moved on for the last part. The walls.
Katsumi could not fly, unfortunately, and she was not going to try and melt her way through the ice.
'Simply work smarter.' She thought to herself.
Only a fool would exhaust themselves to achieve the same result as someone who'd simply used a bit of their brain.
Breaking her sword into the whip mechanic, she swung it forward at the ice so that the tip of the whip's hook could try and get a grip against the wall itself.
With lightning at her feet, she climbed quickly, but the faulty grip against the wall had Katsumi nearly falling back down. Her only saving grace was to quickly grab a piece of the sword and stab it into the ice, using her strength to swing herself onto the wall itself. She could feel her hand was becoming slippery; she'd cut herself.
Damn it all...
Katsumi wouldn't be able to do the same for the rest of the walls, and she'd injured herself making the progress she did...
She growled, then put her back towards the finish line.
Katsumi aimed her uninjured palm at an angle towards the ground, then using the powerful lightning she emitted, she propelled herself from the wall she stood on to the other side. Though her landing was rough and less graceful than she would have liked, Katsumi dashed for the finish line then quickly looked at the clock.
7 minutes and 43 seconds.
She growled at the sight of the numbers as if they offended her, "Disgraceful. Not good enough!" Katsumi said aloud to herself, silently seething as she walked to the sidelines.
Kaizen Shinkami
"Kaizen would be fine, or if you are so inclined, BugBoy would be fine as well." Kaizen comfortable with the people of UA. While others may see it as an insult, Kaizen had always seen it as a term of endearment since nicknames were something friends shared with one another. "That goes for all of you as well, Isa, Mizushima, Deahaka." Kaizen turned to the two closest students who were conversing Mari, hoping to start positive relationships with them as well. He was about to talk to the others there as well until he heard bickering from Vigridis and Goto. "No sense in rushing things. Relationships need to be built organically and not forced." Kaizen thought to himself as he chose to stay quiet instead of stirring the pot.
This was it. It was finally time for him to shine. No more words... only action. Kaizen patiently waited for his turn as he watched his fellow classmates go first, carefully analyzing their approach to each obstacle. The Oni seemed to favor brute strength over everything else, a sentiment he used to share in his younger days. Not only that, she seemed to have the stamina to sustain a barrage of attacks. But even with all that, it still took her a considerable amount of time to finish.
The next girl to go up was Mari. She had started the course with the finesse and agility of a cat, if she hadn't at the later stages of the course she would have finished at a remarkable 9 minutes based on his calculations and projections. The others that went after her had their own strength and weaknesses which also showcased the challenges within each section. He had considered going earlier but decided against it and instead began cocooning his left hand into another form. In his eyes, going first gave no tactical advantage whatsoever, while it would award those who performed well with some glory, it would only be overshadowed by whoever got an even faster time.
The third student to go was the lizard boy. He overcomed the walls by cllimbing over them instead brute forcing his way through. Given the thickness and density of the walls, only exceptional power types would even consider going through the hard way. The diamond-skinned girl chose to go against projectiles instead, making full use of the durability of the quirk. Kaizen briefly considered whether he should do same gauntlet as his combination of mobility and durability could secure him a reasonable time. But then again, he isnt there for just a reasonable time.
And then came the second speedster of the class, Goto. While his speed was definitely unquestionable, he did notice that he had slowdown a few times throughout his entire run, which ultimately did contribute to some loss in effieciency. Based on what he has seen, Mari would have been faster than Goto if she hadn't messed up. The slime girl started reasonabillly well, given her situational nature of her quirk, which did not provide any physical enhancements. When she almost fell down, Kaizen couldn't help but instinctively opened his wings only to stop when she began pulling herself up. But unfortunately, that wasn't enough and she ended the first student to fail the test.
He patiently watched more students doing their runs as he played simulations of his own run in his head. He thought about what he could copy from the other students, what he couldn't, and what he could do better. Given the amount of time that will pass, he would consider using "that" form but that would be the easy way out. He also noticed how easy or even obselete some obstacles become should the runner be able to fly, and from there decided that he would complete this course without his wings.
The Alucard's performances were vastly different from each other, Vigridis didn't seem to break a sweat during her run, indicating she was holding back or perhaps didn't see it as a worthy challenge. Vitalis, while had a much slower time was very obviously trying her best. Physical activities were never her strong suit, and yet she was willing to give it her all. In Kaizen's eyes, she was much more commendable than people like Vigridis. Once more Kaizen gave Vitalis a thumbs up for doing her best despite it, no being a cup of tea. It was important to keep spirits high within the group, especially considering they were going to working together later on.
Agi had an interesting strategy at start of his run, increasing his speed with each jump he took. Unfortunately his quirks ability to solve the puzzle door wasn't something he could replicate.
And with that, his arm had finished forming the web gland he had planned for, along with a single detachable mantis blade. With this newly formed organ, he began spinning himself a net of some sort before carefully folding it into a ball, being very meticulous with the thickness and strength of each strand. Once that was done. After watching Amon's delicate handling of the hostage and Kuroi's less delicate handling, he knew he had to come up with a way of speedily depositing the hostage without roughing them up.
Even while crafting his "tools" Kaizen still took time to watch the rest of the classmates' performance, regardless of how they did. He believed that there was always something to learn from others. Upon seeing energy pass out, he once again instinctively flapped his wings only to see that another winged student has already saved the. The next one was the winged student, Yori, one of the few in the class that had the ability to fly. Yori had confirmed his theory about certain obstacles becoming cakewalk for fliers.
The final one to catch his attention was Katsumi. As much as he detests her attitude, he still looks at her carefully during her run, absorbing elements he could learn from her run. He was particularly focused on the method in which she traverses through the thick walls of ice. This gave him an idea, he quickly shed his larger exterior exoskeleton, revealing his much more slender and agile humanoid form. He was using mostly his bormbadier augment, apart from one arm using the spider augment, along with two subarms. Using the leftover parts of his large exoskeleton and some web, he fashioned himself a circular shield and mounted it on one of its forearms, it wasn't exactly heavy and it had an important purpose to serve later.
BGM:
And now... it was finally his turn. Kaizen knew what had to do, he had a plan, from what he can see so far, everyone else seemed to be mostly winging it, but not him. Was taking this test a bit too seriously? Perhaps. But that was just the way he is. He go into squatting stance behind the starting line, his wings fell to the ground as shed them away, finalizing the decision for him to not use his wings. "I request for the ice walls, sir." he said politely, tightening his legs muscles for the eventual jump.
When the sirens rang, the was a small but ever so noticiabe delay before Kaizen leaped onto the slanted platforms with an explosive twitch of his insect muscles. With each jump, he gained more and more momentum, he would include a bombardier blast from his back in between jumps, increasing his speed and allowing him to skip a good number of the slanted platforms. His movements were methodical, carefully planned to maximize the speed he would gain from this portion of the course. Once he got about the two quarters of the way for first obstacle, he would used the bombardier beetle's augment on his arm and leg to propel himself forward with a few large explosions, sending himself towards the next branching room.
He had been watching the next room from afar, carefully timing his jumps and speed to coincide with an important moment. There exist a small moment where each of the balls would move out of your way as you made your way across them, if one could time it right. This was what Kaizen was waiting for earlier at the start of the course. If he had even started a bit earlier or later his timing would be completely off. Using the momentum he had built up from the previous room, he syncs it with rhythm of pendulums and makes it through the room with one clean dash.
As he approached the hostage room, he readied the mantis blade he made earlier while still keeping his speed from before. Once he was close enough, Kaizen would throw the blade towards hostages at an angle that would cut the rope without harming the dummy. He then proceeded to leap right pass the hostage, briefly touching the ground with his insect legs once more before jumping. As he jumped away, he would shoot a thick strand of spider web towards the dummy, using the momentum he had created from the jump to lift him away with him towards the spaced platforms. The way the trainning dummy was swept away from his seat was similar to that of a fulton surface to air extraction. The sub arms passed the ball to his free hand as they reeled the dummy in and held him in place fire man style. The extra weight of the dummy didnt really amount to anything for him since it was still much lighter compared to his more armored form though. "You are safe in my hands." he said to dummy with a reassuring tone. He compensated the extra weight by increasing the strength of each blast, which did put a strain on his arm and back bombardier organs, but nontheless he perservered.
Using a combination of bombardier blasts, jumps and web slinging, he easily made his through the spaced platforms while also building up the speed he had lost in the previous room despite the added weight of the dummy. Compared to the dense forest and jungles he had been used to, these platforms were relatively easy to traverse through. While travelling towards the van, he transfered one of the balls earlier from his sub arm to his main arm and threw it to the entrace of the van, only for it to miss due the wind. Fortunately, for him, he had made a spare. This time he waited to get abit closer towards the van before throwing the ball. The ball flew towards the opening of the van with a spin which eventually caused it to unravel into a net which attached itself to the egdes of the van's opening, like web on a window. With the safety net ready, Kaizen used the next jump to push himself towards the van's direction. Upon, approaching, however, instead of fully stopping, in the split second that he went across the van's entrance Kaizen gently pushed the dummy into the safety net before jumping away. The safety net fufilled it's purpose, cusioning the dummy before breaking at specific points, allowing it, to safetly and comfortably rest within the confines of the van, it even formed into some sort of blanket for the dummy.
Once the van was far enough. he would unleash a few more explosions to increase his speed and distance covered once more. It was the final stretch of the test, he could see the massive walls. This is it. He didn't even bother trying to punch his way through the walls, opting instead to use his strong legs to leap across the obstacles. With his first jump, he managed to jump to aheight just above the wall. Using a blast from his legs, he propelled himself upwards once more, allowing him to see all the walls clearly. Once at he reached maximum elevation, using his webgland arm, he quickly created of ball of sticky web and threw it towards the top of the third wall before throwing the makeshift shield towards the same area, revealing it's intended purpose. With one more blast from his back, he flew towards the platform he had created. Based on , what he has seen before, jumping directly on top of the ice walls was a risky endevour and as such, should be avoided when possible. By throwing the shield shortly after the web stickly web ball impacted the top of the wall, it ensured the makeshift platform was secure due to web itself begining to freeze as a result of how cold the wall was. Using the newly made non-slippery platform, Kaizen made one final jump, one which propelled him more forwards than upwards, pushing him across the remaining walls and towards the finish line. Using whatever had he left within the bombardier organs, even going as far as to quickly transform his spider arm into a one time use blast organ, he pushed himself towards the finish line on a downward angle, divebombing straight towards it.
His landing caused a considerable amount of dust to be kicked up, but eventually, a silhoutte could be seen emerging from the dust cloud. It was Kaizen, and despite having multiple cracks throughout his exoskeleton some blood hear and there, he stood tall and raised his fist victoriously.
"Not bad for a no wings run. All that for one second huh?" While its true, that he could never match constant speed output of the speeders, in this challenge, he managed to minimize down times, staying in constant motion and completing each section with the utmost efficiency he could manage. His final time was 6 minutes 49 seconds.
Hideki was waiting out on the field like everyone else, when eventually their teacher arrived to explain what they would be doing. Behind their teacher Ota Nomura, a obstacle course would rise from the ground. Their teacher explained in detail each different section of the course that each of the students would have to do. At each section the students would have to decide which of the options that they wanted to take part in.
After their teacher explained, the students started going one at a time and took their turns going through the course. Some students did it faster than Hideki expected and some did it slower than he expected. Overall though most everyone did pretty well and only one student had fallen off of the course and did not finish.
It looked like it was hideki's turn, the boy walked over to the starting spot and stretched for a second before telling Ota Nomura what section he wanted at the end. "
Give me the ice walls please." With that being said Hideki was off and decided to start with the long hallway first. Hideki has been an athlete his whole life, since he was a kid he had always been playing sports and as he got older his parents started training him and working out with him so he was always in good shape. Hideki quickly ran down the hallway. He wasn't as fast as some of the students who had speed quirks, but he was fast for someone who wasn't using his quirk. Hideki jumped over each of the hurtles in the hallway without coming close to touching them.
Once Hideki got through that he had his second choice to make. Hideki stopped for a second before deciding on the latter. Hideki quickly ran up to the later and looked up. Hideki decided to give himself a little bit of a boost up the ladder. Hideki would put both of his arms facing directly at the ground and soon enough hot and intense flames would shoot out of both of his hands. Like a jet engine the fire gave Hideki propulsion and he quickly shot up about halfway to the top of the ladder before catching the ladder. Hideki looked down and he had flown up about halfway to the top, now he started to climb the other half of the ladder until he got to the top of it. Hideki would then run over and slide down the pole to the bottom. Hideki unfortunately got some burns on his hands from the pole but nothing that he couldn't handle.
Hideki then made it to the room where the dummy was. He would run over to the dummy and would crouch behind the chair it was sitting in. Hideki would carefully burn the rope that was tied around the dummy's back. Once the rope was burned off, Hideki made sure to put out the flames before they burned the dummy. Hideki would then put the dummy over his shoulder in a fireman carry. The weight of the dummy was not an issue for Hideki.
For his third choice Hideki would make his way to the spaced out platforms. Hideki would stop and take a look at them for a second before making his first jump. Luckily the jumps weren't as far as he though and even with the extra weight over his shoulder, Hideki had no problem making all of the jumps and getting to the end. Hideki made his way to the police van and carefully put the dummy in the back before heading to the final obstacle.
For the final obstacle Hideki had selected the ice walls. Hideki was uniquely able to deal with their teachers quirk because of Hideki's own quirk. Hideki made his way to the first wall, he put both arms in front of himself sticking straight out and soon enough Flames were coming out of both of his hands and hitting the ice wall directly. The flames quickly melted a hole big enough for Hideki to get through. He would do this same tactic for the other four walls in front of him. This took a little more time then he though because the ice was thick, but still, his flames were more than enough to melt the ice and to melt it pretty quickly.
Hideki would cross the finish line and would loom up at the clock to see his time of 8:15, Hideki caught his breath for a moment before biting his bottom lip. Hideki had wanted to do a little bit better than that, but overall it was still a pretty good time. Hideki would walk over to where the rest of the students were gathered. "
Well, looks like I'll have to speed up if I want to pass some of you." Hideki smirked as he then looked over at Mari, the girl who was their class rep back at UA and was someone that Hideki had sort of seen as a rival when they were there together, he also respected the girl a lot. "Looks like you beat me in a race again, don't worry i'll beat you in a race eventually." Remembering some of the timed speed events and training that they had done together at UA, Hideki lightly chuckled.
