Mental Damages:

Thirty years ago, the war ended. But without any side claiming victory, the strife continued nonetheless. And it wasn't until 10 years ago the situation became more or less stable.
While the most powerfull forces had stopped their mutual struggle, what they left us was a world of wasteland and ruins. Which numerous lesser forces fought over until a balance was reached.

There are but some true facts left in the world of today, there are Normals, and there are Mentals. The two kinds of people the war raged between. The Mentals, humans able to affect their surroundings with their very minds, have always lived among the rest of the human race. During the dark ages they were persecuted as witches, and sixty-two years ago, in 2025, when the company Psychonetics begun selling what is now called Ppps, their existence was made known to the general public. Two years later the war began, it lasted for thirty years, and it destroyed the world as it had been before. Now there are communities of various size spread out across the world, trying to reinstate civilization as they make up small Nations.

Some communities consist of nothing but normals, and lynch every mental who enters. Likewise there are places filled with mentals, who would rip any normals apart before they reached the gates. But there are also places of any kind between. And most notable are the network of cities that were founded by Psychonetics. Utopias of the present world, trying to create a better future.
Most communities live behind walls, as wildlife, bandits and things left from the war populate the wastelands.
And they all have their own version of who started the war, what transpired during it, and who the winners were.

Maybe you are a survivor from before he war, trying your best to adapt to the new state of the war, slowly coming to terms with what you experienced and with the losses that befell you.
You could be one of those born while armies and battles raged around, grown and shaped by the harsh reality of war. Struggling to create a better life for your kids and families.
Or maybe you were born after its end, growing up while listening to stories about mentals able to destroy armies and the weapons created to stand against them.
But nonetheless you think there is more to it than the simplifications and biased views those around you share, and you crave to know what really happened, for what purpose and why.

And then one day your chance arrived, a group calling themselves the Post-nontals set up camp outside of town, and somehow you found out that they were on a quest for answers, the same answers you desired. So you left your home, and joined the mixed group of individuals searching for the truth.

Various information:
The mentals, and those normals that uses Ppps have abilities that enables them to affect the world around them with their minds alone.
Some examples are moving objects without touching them, making things burn/freeze, reading someones mind, bending light around you, healing people through touch, materializing objects from pure thoughts.
The limits of the mental-powers one wields are greatly influenced by their imagination.
The powers themselves can be viewed as a muscle of the mind, that gets stronger the more its used, but also uses less energy as the precision of the mental heightens.
The Mentals are in general like the normals, with the exception of having mental powers. These powers come at a price though, as the fuel for them is the very life-force of the mental in question. The mentals can be grossly classified in five categories (the categories used by Psychonetics), of which three are general knowledge:

Simple mental: Using their own life-force to fuel their powers, thus often refraining from using them. And if used to much they die young.

Advanced mental: Fueling their powers with a mental image of their own life-force. This is a technique that mostly needs to be learned, but some are born with it. It enables the mental in question to use their powers without the drawback of their own life, once. But the mental image of life-force doesnt break down young, and most advanced live their whole lives.

Ppp normal: Using Ppps enable normals to use mental-powers during a short period of time. There are side effects when one tries to do something their minds cant handle, and also with regular usage. The power of a Ppp-user varies depending on the persons imagination and the flexibility of their mind. Most become as strong as Simple mentals, but some become as strong as Advanced mentals.
Mentals only experience a slightly higher amount of ability if using Ppps. Overuse of the drug is generally equivalent with death or vegetable-state of the mind.

Categories of abilities:
Concrete; able to affect the physical world around them. Maybe lift objects without touching them.
Abstract; able to perceive and interact with the abstract world. Maybe read the mind of others, see the future, perceive the emotion and auras of their surroundings. Some could also see ghosts and spirits.
Change: able to deconstruct/reconstruct objects. Maybe turn a stone into sand.
Energy: able to see and affect, change and empower different kind of energies. Maybe draw heat from the surroundings and form fire.
Enhancement; able to reinforce objects and make them something more than what they are. Maybe make a cotton string as hard as steel.
Astral; able to bring a thought into being by continuously fueling it. Maybe seemingly transform into a wolf and then simply shedding the form like a piece of clothing.
Immaterial: able to alter and rearrange the flux of those things more or less immaterial. Maybe bend light around you.

Categories of area possible effect:
Internal: Their own body may be affected by their powers. "I am immortal!"
External: Their surroundings may be affected by their powers. "Burn, burn!"
Inanimate: Things without a thought-process may be affected. "Watch this rock become dust."
Animate: Things with a "thought-process" may be affected. "I am the master of the trees."

Categories of the range of abilities:
Close range: Able to reach a few meters around them with their powers.
Medium range: Able to use powers in "line of sight", actual effective range varies.
Long range: Able to use powers withing the possible "line of sight", actual effective range varies.
Far range: Able to use powers within area of perception, actual effective range varies.
Known range: Able to use powers where they have been, actual effect varies depending on distance.
Object range: Able to use powers on/around objects they have remembered, actual effect varies.

Categories of the strength of powers:
Logical: Able to use powers equivalent to what one could do with their own body. Might be an idea to start some heavy lifting or study some.
Illogical: Able to use powers equivalent to what one could do together with their image/s. How do you even measure this O.o.

Categories of medium used for abilities / visualizations done by the user:
Self: An imaginary image of the user realizes the abilities. Multiple personalities anyone?
Body: An imagined medium sprouting from the user realizes the abilities and/or interacts with the surroundings. Invisible hands, creepy.

Accepted characters:

York
Name: Derany
Nickname: Ghost (Back in the war they called him that for the way he acted)

Age: 40
Gender: Male

Appearance: Black, medium length hair, medium body build, with a light skin tone. Something like this: XD with the exception of his clothing, and probably a more, tidy hair style :P and probably shorter at the back XS

nYIxyRj.png
Couldn't find the best image (thanks to google images giving me a bajillion muscle bound dudes when I tried to search for someone meeting my characters description)

Equipment: Gray, hooded robe he often uses to conceal his face, he has a black t-shirt inside his robe, along with some gray jeans (not nearly as tight as most jeans are though) He also carries around a good sized rucksack, big enough to hold some food and supplies, thermal clothing (when the days get hold), there's quite alot more space incase he needs to carry other things with him. He also wears a tool-belt meant to hold his prototype weapon along with ammunition for it and his combat knife (they're backups incase his powers aren't enough)

Weapons: An old but still kept in good shape combat knife and an experimental weapon kept from his days in the war (he doesn't remember much about it)

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: He was born a mental, he was "modified" during the war

Level of mental training: Advanced, perhaps a little beyond... He's forgotten a considerable amount of his training, but his skills are slowly returning...
Powers:
Energy (primary) -
Able to gather energy from sources such as fires and batteries into small colored balls (corresponding to the color of their corresponding "energy pellets") and release it again (causing the ball to dissipate at the area he wants the energy to be released), usually in a different area, also able to "compress" and solidify the energy taken into little glowing "pellets" (Their color corresponding to how much energy he took and what energy he tool example; heat from a fire compressed into a pellet will be orange, if it's just a small bit of heat it'll be a lighter color, and as more energy is gathered into it, it's color becomes darker, and more vibrant), external, close, illogical, triggered with an image of ghost like "hands" extending from him and gathering energy for a fire for example into a colored ball, and then releasing it in a designated area (within his ability)
Abstract (forgotten ability, can be tertiary I guess?) - Can "sense" strong emotions within others, has the occasional "future flash" usually after a memory relapse (he'll have that occasional "flashback" when certain triggers happen), (he doesn't know how to do so yet) has the potential to see spirits and other entities like them, external, logical, medium range, he can usually achieve this by imagining himself in an world much like his own though more.... Ethereal and kinda foggy like a distant memory...

Enhancement (secondary) - Able to allow things to function even when damaged for a limited amount of time (both animate and inanimate things, can't undo death though), external, logical, he pictures an item/person getting up/functioning even in a damaged state
First usage of abilities: During the war, it caused a great amount of damage, resulting in some key events

Visualization of medium: He imagines something lifting, breaking, forming etc, and concentrates on that image, allowing what he visualizes to transfer into reality..

Bio: An experiment of the war, he was developed as a "super soldier", in a desperate effort to give his creators an advantage... He was a great success, his abilities far surpassing any mental they've "modified" before, but as time went on... He began to develop some "unfavorable" traits; They found he was too compassionate, not willing to fight unless necessary, sometimes even befriending his opponents, they deemed him a failure..... He was scheduled to be "disposed of" not too long after that discovery, but he escaped, living in secrecy until the end of the war... His memory of his days during the war are faulty as he tries so hard to forget what he's done... He tries to make up for it as much as he can, all the while wondering why they made him who he was...
Personality: He prefers to keep to himself (his robe helps with that) often hanging around an area unnoticed until he makes his presence known like a "Ghost" (hence his nickname during the war), he feels uncomfortable around most people, he worries they'll see him as a monster... He would jump in and help others to the best of his ability if the situation calls for it, he enjoys doing so. He's kind, shy, and very affectionate, what makes him angry is when others knowingly hurt things, both mentally and physically without good reason. He has a deep sense of justice for others, being happy when he's made others happy, he still tries to get over his past, make up for it. In most situations, he looks for more than one route, choosing one that would lead to the best outcome for everyone (even if it means sacrificing/risking his own life) Most would call him "selfless"...

View of the situation: He has faith the world can recover from its previous struggles, but he wishes to find the reasons why the war started (and how he came into the picture) so that the same disaster can be stopped from happening again...

Almost muscular enough to be stocky, her flat stomach is paired with broad hips that barely taper at all before her large ribcage; her chest bulges more with pecs than breasts. Her arms and legs are sharply defined, more like a man's than a woman. Her face is plain but attractive enough; typical Caucasian features that are almost painfully ordinary. Her eyes are a mix of grey and sea green, and usually seem focused somewhere off in the distance.

One SWIXX survival knife, 3 blades + striking pad.
One handmade, lead-cored baton used to aid her with her duties in a non-lethal manner.

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Mental

Level of mental training: Advanced; she is rarely qualified with the rest of them due to her abilities being relatively minor.

Powers: Oddly specific, hers are the combination of genetic modification and specific training. Her internal abilities involve the ability to make her body very resistant to its own internal forces. This seems a bit useless, until you consider her other ability.
Her outward expression is in the form of a kinetic/potential energy battery. Simply put, she can transform the two energies of motion at will, & store them until needed. She can catch a punch, for example, and take all of the energy instead of letting it hurt her. She can then combine the strength of her arm with the energy of the punch to hit her attacker back with twice the strength. There are certain limitations, though- not every part of her body is good at the transfer, so hitting her in the fact might mean she can only catch 30% of the energy, compared to her hands which are at almost 100%. In addition, she must be prepared and have her powers activated at the time- if she doesn't know it's coming, she can't stop it.
The main benefit of her ability is that she has the strength of many men, and will never hurt herself using it- she could throw a heavy stone at two hundred miles an hour, for example, and not wrench her shoulder from its socket or sprain every tendon & ligament. This resilience does not apply to external forces; if someone else were to wrench her arm her powers would do nothing.

First usage of abilities: Shortly after she learned how to catch things, she learned how to catch them without getting any kickback, so the absorbancy came pretty naturally. She was seven before her father taught her how to use the stored-up energy to throw the ball back as hard as she can. That wound up with a bouncy ball putting a considerable hole in a concrete bunker wall.

Visualization of medium: She imagines a glowing suit of white armor around her body, like a knight in a storybook she had as a little girl. The armor is somewhat like Excalibur, as the person who can wear it must be pure of heart and is signalled by divine provenance to be worthy of their use. When she does something she feels is immoral, the armor gets tarnished and rusty, and doesn't work as well. It's a self-imposed morality clause.

Bio: Tylar's father had very similar abilities to her own, and was a very powerful mental soldier in the war. Eager to have more like him, the army captured any young women they found in combat, and encouraged him to have children with them so they could experiment with the genetic link of mental abilities. Tylar, the twelth child to be experimented on in such a way, was the sole success. From a young age she was trained to transform kinetic & potential energy- if she was ever able of manipulating any other forms, she has no idea how to and is by now too old to learn.
When she was twelve, the war ended and she was suddenly without a home. Her father & most of the people who had raised her were dead, and the only home she was able to find was with the Humanity-in-Arms. HiA gave her a home, and the morality clause. To strengthen the weak. To humble the proud. Make poor those who have gotten rich on ill-gotten gains. To make all of humanity strong by making every individual person strong. Even when she was older and decided to join up with the post-nontals, the ideas struck. She wanted answers, only because she was a girl when people still told stories of a seemingly utopian world, where everyone had enough to eat and the roads were safe to travel and people could focus on things other than survival. The way she sees it, the more they know about the past & the truth, the more they can help people.

Personality: A white knight at heart, Tylar is driven by a strong sense of morality & guilt. She recognizes that she is strong, and gifted, and blessed in ways that most people aren't. To some extent, she sees this as a debt she must repay to the world. She must be this way for a purpose- and that purpose, she thinks, is to lend her strength to those who need it. She wants desperately to be a hero, to be cheered and praised and thanked sincerely. The world is a mess, and she wants to be the one who cleans it up. She thrives on positive attention, beats herself up on the inside when she is scolded.
She is a motherly sort, who feels very fulfilled by teaching & nurturing. Unfortunately, she will never have children of her own. In what the scientists who modified her claim is a completely unrelated and coincidental event, she has Swyer syndrome, meaning she will never be able to conceive. This is a major blow to her self-esteem as well as her sense of identity, as she has never really known how to identify herself or act around other people, knowing that she is genetically male. It always wound up being easier to identify as female, given her anatomy is closer, but she has always had an identity crisis when it came to sex and gender.

View of the situation: She doesn't know what to believe, and doesn't care. Whoever caused it, whoever ended it- they're probably dead now. All she wants from the old world is how to improve the one they have now, not revenge or any notion of justice. What is done is done, she only cares for rebuilding.

Ai
Name: Jack Dealer

Nickname: The Mad Clown

Age: 23

Gender: Male
Appearance:
Jack is approximately 5'7, skinny with a top hat, a white mask that covers his full face with scar across his right eye. Black hair, Green eyes and a shabby attire of jeans, a white victorian blouse, crimson red tie, and a purple suit jacket.

Equipment: Clothes, Pocket Knife, Two Daggers

Weapons: A dagger or two

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Mental

Level of mental training: Advanced

Powers: Abstract power, Animate, Illogical, Self

Realistic Illusion: Is able to put thoughts into his own head and twist them into a reality, the power of belief is a strong one. Jack believes in the dark world he created inside of his head and it's a reality for him although nothing more than illusion. In order for this to work, Jack has to notice the person within range of him.
Range: Within 5 metres

First usage of abilities: A dark void appeared before Jack's eyes...all he could do was stare at it. Tick...Tick...Tick...Tick. Tick. Tick. Emerging from the shadows a clock appeared, closer, closer, tick, tick. . Jack had no idea what was going on; fear enveloped him as the sound got louder and louder. Almost as if in the blink of an eye, it stopped. A large wooden box lay before him. Jack could not help stare at the long bar of gold metal going backward and forward. As the face of the clock looked down on him, grinning wickedly. His head began to spin round and and around and round, something began to whisper from the shadows. "Jack.... nobody will ever love a boy like you jack..." he said nothing in response. An eerie silence filled as a light suddenly appeared upon an old wooden table, nothing in the room but a porcelain doll on the table. After inspecting it for a moment, it appeared pretty normal. They eyes were a bit creepy though they were pitch black, not even an iris. As he went to turn around to walk away, from the corner of his eye he saw something move. Quickly Jack pivoted back around to see what it was.... The doll in a different position, it's large black eyes glaring at him and it's mouth widened into a murderous grin. Looking down at the floor for a moment he gazed into a chequered floorboard 'this can't be happening' this whole place was weird even the floor was connected, it was in several different dimensions all scattered around the place. As he looked back up the doll had moved again closer this time. He ran, back into the darkness from whence he came. It was different from before, several roads of chequered lines were everywhere, some of them connected some of them dead ends and doors floating in the air; Broken, upside-down, side, upright it was random...it was scary. "Accept it Jack...this is where you belong. Stay with us jack" the voice was there again. "Hahahaha" a cackle echoed throughout the galaxy like void, accompanied by a soft sound of bells. "Do you want to see a magic trick jack?" a clown in a large orange suit suddenly appeared, it's face half pristine and the other rotten flesh that had melted to bone. "Welcome home" it said to him with a crooked smile. It held three multi-coloured balloons in it's hand "Would you like one? I have red and yellow and blue...go on Jackie.... take one." backing away slowly jack screamed "NO! NO! NO!" Something clicked, the clown began to swirl away and his vision came back to reality, he was stuck in a corner of the front room. His sister had got a porcelain doll for Christmas and he had a clown toy. Looking down at his hands, not being able to believe what he had just seen, Jack carried on with his Christmas trying not to burden anyone... little did he know that it would soon become his reality.

Note: Jack isn't able to control his power. He's unable to get himself out side of that world and is stuck in it.

Visualization of medium: Jack dealer is insane to the point he believes that his power is real and thus always perceives the visualisation of his medium (^^ couldn't word it better) as reality. His power reacts to his emotions; i.e. if he wishes to be alone or is scared he will imagine something that could be potentially harmful to himself or someone else within his world but would also mean he's running in the real world. Objects in reality if they are dangerous become dangerous monsters, the niceties of life occasionally still appear in random places but scattered everywhere.

Bio: When jack was young, some scientists did some tests on his brain, he was a very bright child, a child brighter beyond imaginable and they had hoped that maybe they could leanr something for him - in order to try and produce some sort of psychic connection the scientists removed his Amygdala rendering Jack unable to put events into chronological order or be able to hold any of his feelings at bay. However because of this, Jack psychic capability went to leaps and bounds. But unfortunately made it impossible for his parents to deal with him, after being in Avenhead mental institute for years, although knowing he was originally fine. Jack started to believe he was insane and thus became so. From within the mental institute jack was put into isolation. Men and women were found dead within his presence but they were not able to find any proof that he did it. Because of the other patients fear Jack they put him in isolation. Jack wants nothing to break free and is reaching out to the world to help him but everyone dies or leaves.

Personality: Because of his mental state, it is impossible for Jack not to express how he feels. This can make him appear insane and thus he just goes along with it. It makes it very difficult for him to get along with anyone let alone have the consistency to work alongside anyone. Jack likes including people though, he seeks to bring them into his world for although he's not good at interacting he's very lonely, random, sadistic, sometimes merciful and resolute - has a split personality to the point he even talks and answers himself.

View of the situation: A Neutral party until convinced otherwise. Jack's world started with Nightmares and he now despises them, the world he once knew the dream world as bad as it was was much much better than the one he's in. Blood, Screaming, Pain - in order to survive he has had to accept this way of life and has learnt to enjoy it. But occasionally he reverts back to the old Jack, the caring jack. But then remembers what he's now living.

Piglron
Name: Bill Mayhew

Nickname: Bill, AKA "the RV guy", AKA "That guy that fixes stuff when he stops by" AKA "The funny old army dude"

Age: 48

Gender: Male

Appearance: A middle aged, busy fella, Poor old Bill is not a pretty boy, not ugly per se, just old, and always covered in grease, oil stains and dirt, with his hands a constant mess of filth while he's working. He has a stocky build, with more than a little muscle packed into his 5"6 foot frame.
B7gqTUS.jpg

Equipment: Gray jeans w/ belt, sturdy black work boots, heavy leather jacket covered in pockets, button up black shirt with rolled up sleeves and a vest underneath. Around his neck Bill wears the fragment of shrapnel that took his eye out on a chain as a "good luck" charm, a gift from his old platoon mates.

Bill has a cyborg eye that can see in IR, UV and has a built in flashlight. It runs off of energy from Bill's metabolism. It also pops out and unplugs if Bill looks up and jiggles it in just the right way for ease of repair. Handy!

Bill rides in a semi-armored RV, lovingly nicknamed "Mabel" that he keeps all his kit in, it's a 10-seater: with the driver, front passenger, two passenger seats and four around the dining table in the back, with another two on the sofa opposite the dining table. It's not road legal but who's keeping track of that anymore? It's a home away from home for Bill and he's keeping it that way. It comes complete with two double beds and a bathroom (very cramped)There's a locked compartment at the back sealed off with a wooden divide which only Bill has the key to. In which Bill keeps all his tools, spare parts, and a safe with a picture of his parents, his old wedding ring, and his dog tags from the war. Mabel is covered in makeshift armor plating that gives some protection from the occasional bandit taking pot shots at the RV, though most bandits are deterred by the M2 browning machine gun nest that Bill replaced the skylight with.

irLS9uW.png

He also keeps in there his old exo-suit, which isn't so old anymore. After tinkering with it over the years, it's become a great hulking contraption, so large that it can no longer get out of the door of the camper van. It's more of hobby than a weapon at this point, as to get it out Bill would have to either break opn the back of the van or take it apart and reassemble it outside, a long, dangerous task in the lawless wastelands.

Weapons: An antique M1911 pistol tucked into the back of his jeans, hidden by his shirt, a monkey wrench attached to his belt, heavy enough to brain someone with, a switchblade knife hidden in a holster in his boot, a penknife in his pocket, and the technical knowhow to whip up a stun gun out of spare electrical parts and electrical tape. The mind of an improvising engineer is a dangerous thing in and of itself

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Normal (Cyborg right eye and optical nerve)

Level of mental training: Bill was taught by his father, who was an advanced mental, how to shield his mind from psychic attack. Though Bill has no power of his own, the training sessions with his father gave him an understanding of mental attack and, though he cannot stop the attack itself, he learned how to let his mind flow like water around the attack, seeping through the cracks and holding on to consciousness through concentration and care.

Powers: None

First usage of abilities: Never

Visualization of medium: N/A

Bio: Born in the rage and fire that was the last half of the world ending war, Bill lived with his normal mother and advanced mental father, constantly on the run from the fighting. Though he didn't see an actual warzone until he was much older, Bill can still remember what the aftermath of those battles were like; irradiate land, mountains of bodies, and the sickening stench of rotting and burning flesh.

Bill never found out how his mother and father met, but he does know that while he was on the run with his parents their love never faltered. They argued, obviously, but they fought to keep the horrors of the war away from their son and away from each other with such ferocity and conviction that Bill was very often in awe of them.

At the age of fifteen Bill watched his parents die to the hands of bandits; his mother killed as she gunned them down, his father screaming with his last dying breath for Bill to run. And run Bill did.

For a year Bill ran from place to place, stealing and fighting for rotting scraps and dirty water, until, at the age of sixteen, Bill was caught stealing from the anti-mental army. Luckily for Bill, towards the end of the war both sides were hurting for numbers, so he was given a choice; live as a soldier; or die as a thief. Bill is still alive.

Fighting in the war that his parents had given their lives protecting him from was bitter, to say the least, but Bill did what he had to do to survive. He was placed in a division of armored infantry, using old, busted exo-suits to boost physical as well as mental resilience. Here, Bill found his calling, learning fast, Bill found it almost too easy to fix up and improve the old busted suits.

He lost his eye to flying shrapnel during a bout, but even this was naught but a road bump on the way to glory for the up and coming engineer; using scrounged tech and a lot of know how he and his platoon mates fashioned a new eye for Bill; one that could put his old one to shame. His platoon began seeing more and more wins against the mentals, and Bill began to receive commendations for services to humanity, and, eventually, found himself being moved away from the front lines and found himself in the nerve center of the anti-mental's army as a high ranking research engineer.

At the age of 18 Bill watched the war grind to an excruciating stalemate. Hoping this would finally bring about some kind of truce, Bill approached his superior officers and told them about his father being a mental and volunteered to be an ambassador to the mentals.

Bill was promptly sentenced to execution for insubordination and lying to a superior officer, as well as the charge of being a mental army spy. Enraged at the swift and merciless reaction to his plea for peace, Bill escaped confinement, stole an old exo-suit and escaped, vowing never to fight for the anti-mental armies again.

Over the next thirty years Bill watched the world move, inch by inch, towards peace, or at least something that resembled it. He got married at 24 to a wonderful woman, had a boy, and settled down, taking a job at an old tech& car repair shop in a town near unfortunately after 6 years the marriage fell apart and Bill had to move on. He spent 3 years working as a mechanic for a settlement near his home before he got his hands on Mabel, his camper van, and went travelling for two years, doing favors, and, for the past year, doing a little work for the Post-nontals as a mechanic, engineer, and driver.

Personality: A tough old geezer, Bill has had the snot beaten out of him by life but refuses to stay down. A piece of sparking tech in his hands and a questionably sourced stogie in his mouth and Bill's content. Fond of hearing and sharing stories of the past, and Bill has seen enough to last him more than one lifetime.

View of the situation: To Bill, the enemy is those who refuse to just stop the bloody fighting for two seconds to talk everything through. Bill would rather learn what everyone thinks then try to compromise than fire a single shot.

Name: Beau Johnson

Nickname:

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance:
female-vampire-sword-razor-3d-960x1080.jpg

Equipment: Her sword as shown in picture, a few daggers hidden among her body.

Weapons: Her sword and a few daggers hidden along her body; Her mind.

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Mental

Level of mental training: Simple

Powers: Beau can gather the water she needs for her powers by making it rain, even finding a covered stream, or any water in sight. After she acquires the water she can then freeze it, all that is need is a small drop on her palm for her to form icicles or to drown the object with water that freezes at the same time. She can only use this power within her eye sight, thus she would have to be facing the object/person.

First usage of abilities: She first found out about her abilities when she was a young girl. She had thrown a tantrum and froze a bowl of water. Ever since then she has been training how to contain it with out it killing her.

Visualization of medium: In order to summon water she feels as if she is floating in a lake. While if she wishes to freeze something she feels as if she, herself is cold and frozen. She cannot have the two feels at the same time.

Bio: Beau grew up after the war. She learned how to scavenge at a young age with her mother. Her mother finally passed away when she was only fifteen, leaving her to survive on her own. She was near death when she ran into a group of bandits, who took her in and taught her how to fight and fend for herself. However nothing is free, but she doesn't like talking about what she had to do. Finally she managed to escape their clutches, now as she clings to the shadows, finding shelter during the dark. She was skeptical about every one and trusted no one. Beau wasn't affiliated with a fraction, just trying to survive on her own. She traveled but where her designation was she didn't know, all she knew was there had to be some place better.

Personality: Beau is skeptical about everyone. To her they are all out to get her. That doesn't mean she will attack but she won't trust you with her life. She doesn't get emotional about things, guarding her heart and her mind so as not to let her power consume her.

View of the situation: Beau is pretty indifferent to the whole war. She doesn't know what it was about, but it seems pretty pointless at the moment. She is just trying to survive day to day and find a better place to live.

Sasha noticed that she was strong. Separated from her family and wandering around she slowly learned how to deal with her new power. An old lady for a while guided her ruthlessly to become the best most likely for own purposes. However she soon died.

Sasha proved to have a knack for survival and energy management. joining at first a mental resistance group in an area she slowly started to make a name for her self. But later as the war raged on she ended up on the normal side for a while in the chaos. But soon she decided that both sides where not to her liking. Fighting hard she took a territory of her own. Thinking of this as a good chance she settled down and found a person to love. She even had two children. Of course the shadow of the war still loomed and someone recognised her.

She lost the youngest child in the coming events and the older child along with the father dissappeared in the chaos. Sasha thought it was for the best. She carried to much history from the war. Yet she couldn't stop looking. Thats when she found the group. And in her mind a small flame of wanting revenge was still burning. Who ever was responisble would pay.

Personality: A mother a guardian and someone who takes responsibility. Sasha is quite a bitter person. Which is no surprise with what the world has thrown at her. She can of course have her changes in personality especially when taking care of young people. She can at these times remind of a parent and a menthor. Just don't piss her of. Weapons:
Bayonet knife, pair of brass knuckles, military handgun, and sometimes in use of sniper when she is either able to get one or able to transport her own

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user:
Mental

Level of mental training:
Simple (with major power sustain due to fear of hurting innocents)

Powers:
Nitrokinesis (ability to manipulate pressure causing explosions and implosions of living and non living things, or creating vacuum and high pressure spots - Concrete, external, medium range, logical strength (Her strength depends on level of stress and anger)

First usage of abilities:
Real use was in an act of defence at the age of 16, when she was almost molested by a group of soldiers

Visualization of medium:
She uses her body as her medium, using her powers with her mind

Bio:
Harley was born in family where her mother was born Mental and her father was a former soldier. As the only child she got everything she wanted and that her parents were able to give her. The biggest reason for that was to keep her happy at any cost, because they noticed that since her first days whenever she cried hard, her cradle would crack or creak. Since the war threatened his family, her father hid both her and her mother as long as he could, training Harley for combat along the way. Harley understood situation and went along with it until she turned 16.
At the age of 16, her family was finally found out about, and a group of soldiers broke into their home killing her father at once, and her mother after she managed to take down a couple of them. Harley was held hostage and starved for a week until they decided she was no good to become a research material since she was too old and no significant power use was shown. However, at the point when they got the "genius" idea to have "some fun" before they get rid of her, things went downhill. That was the first time she actually used her power without any control and killed all of them making them burst like balloons. Since then she was on the run and on her own, terrified of her abilities, hungry and confused until she came across a group of outcasts that stole and looted corpses to survive. She once more was forced to sustain her abilities since it was a group of normal people that probably wouldn't appreciate it, or would abuse it. However, she was alone for so long that it was a small price to pay to feel safe at least a bit. They began looting weapons, armours and other military equipment, and they named themselves "The Wolves". Harley began using her powers secretly for busting the locks and safes and with that became highly respected member of the group.
It was not long before it was obvious they had a traitor in their rows that at one point sold them to the military for money and promises. Seeing that there was nothing she could to help them and noticing that, at that point, everyone worried about themselves instead for group, she once again decided to move on her own. It was successful for a while until she as well was tracked down and shot. With no time to check weather she is dead, her trackers moved along. She was badly injured but alive and pretty sure she would bled to death. At one point she lost her consciousness, just to find herself taken care of in Post-nontal's encampment. Though she hesitated about being a part of another group, she agreed when she was sure that everyone else would understand her abilities as a "normal" thing, and that they all have the same goal to find out what happened.

Personality:
Harley is quite reserved, intelligent, sceptical, sarcastic, loyal, brave, practical and a tactician. She avoids bonds, but once she is bonded to someone, she will do anything to protect that person, aggressive in combat and somewhat even reckless when she is able to channel her energy on fists and legs and not on her ability. Her slim body makes her agile and able to reach in a lot of narrow spaces. Her fear is that she will loose control over her powers and it is the reason she takes pills to calm herself every time she feels up tight. She is annoyed by constant whining and cowards, and she has a weak spot for kids and those that can't defend themselves. She is also quite stubborn in her decisions and independent. She is pretty skilled in negotiating and diplomacy, but only satisfied with the outcome if it is good for her side, and she doesn't give up until she gets it that way.

View of the situation:
Harley believes that the meaning of war wasn't just in exterminating potential threats in form of Mentals but to put them under control as well. Because of that she can't stand Ppp users, and she finds them leeches and cowards that got what they have over other Mental's backs. She is against any type of experimenting and she will hardly change her mind on that one. Although she would never attack first for no good reason, any sign of potential danger coming from someone she considers her enemy will result in partially defensive reaction. As she was getting older, she started demanding that Mentals get treated as any other "normal" person, and not as mental cases of special kind.

Tone 6th
Name: Alexander Roko

Nickname: Cleaver

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Appearance: Alex is a tall lanky young man reaching about 5'10". Fair skinned, has black framed glasses, spiky blonde hair, and has a cybernetic enhancement in his left arm.

Equipment: As for what he is wearing/has on him: Alex like to go with the whole ancient cowboy look told about in the legends, so he is wearing nice think jeans, steel towed cow boy boots, a regular shirt, and a duster coat.

Other items of importance are: a silver heart shaped necklace his mother gave him

A standard issue military anti- mind reading helmet, you know to keep them from reading you like a book.

A lead laced bandanna for when the helmet gets uncomfortable or the situation just doesn't call for it (basically the helmet but has a lesser effect).

And most important his small hovering AI friend which he named John. John is a small egg shaped navigation/ scouting AI that Alex picked up from his military days. John is capable of advanced thought and considers Alex to be a friend. However, the two tend to argue a lot.

Weapons: Alex carries a huge, and very heavy experimental broadsword on his back. The sword is large enough to act as a small shield if needed. This blade was forged from an experimental metal that was being developed during the war, and is considered an upgrade from the normal weapons that are mental proof. This metal could not be effected by mentals due to it being made up of ore not found on this planet. The blade was forged from many different ores found in different meteorites that crashed into the planet. (Windstorm I'm really hoping you are okay with this idea, I just want my character to have some kind of edge over the mantels, because he's a normal and has no training to fight off abstract thoughts.) He also carries a Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum with him.

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Normal, with a left arm cybernetic implant that increases his lifting and strength capability.

Level of mental training: Normal Human. The only line of defense he has against mental thoughts is the lead laced bandanna and the amount of shielding it gives is dependent on how advanced the mental is.

Powers: NA

First usage of abilities: NA

Visualization of medium: NA

Bio: Alex was born after the war and took part in the false wars. His father was a very high ranking scientist that worked for a company called Cy-Tech Labs (Which was bought out by Psychonetics once the real war was over) , the leading force in the cybernetics division of the war. His mother was a squad captain and a damn good one at that, she taught him how to fight effectively against the mentals. Around 12 years old Alex's left arm started to become more and more weak turns out he had degenerative muscle disease. However, thanks to his father, and his status at Cy-Tech, he would receive a cybernetic implant. Once Alex turned 18 he joined his mother in the fight against the mentals in the the false wars, but it never felt right taking the life of another, not matter how many times his mother gave him the "Its for a greater good" speech. Around 21 years old Alex's mother was killed in battle by a mental, torn to shreds right in front of his very eyes. After his mother died Alex left the war scene and became a roaming warrior for hire. Before he left Alex's father gave him his broadsword, claiming it was experimental and needed field testing, Alex smiled and hugged his father good bye. Alex joined up with the Post-nontals because he thought their cause was noble and just. Secretly though Alex wants to know who exactly fueled the war and the false wars. He wanted to know their motives behind such a horrible act, but most of all he wanted to know who killed his mother.

Personality: Alex is generally a pretty happy go lucky guy, however Alex acts very uneasy around mentals due to his past. Alex doesn't out right hate them, he doesn't really out right hate anyone, but he doesn't feel like he can trust them. Alex will always go out of his way to help anyone he can even if it means putting his life on the line.

View of the situation: Alex just wants the fighting to be over. After being a soldier for so long the whole fighting thing kind of gets old. Once Alex is done seeing the world he plans of getting into a Utopia so he can finally be rid of the war. Alex's parents had a very split very on the war. His father was very against war claiming "I've seen so many innocent victims come through the lab that it makes me sick. We should be living in an age where we don't need to fight." where as his mother was pro war "Those damn mentals are a bunch of abominations! Alex never trust a mental." Because of this Alex tends to think killing in general is wrong, but protecting the innocent is worth taking a life.

SilentScreamer
Name:
Veronyka Kiz {Pronounced 'Kiss' }

Nickname: N/A

Age:
21

Gender:
Female

Appearance:

Her hair should be a lighter brown and her eyes are blue with gold rims. I'm just currently incapable of editing it. *coughschoolcough*

Equipment:
For her top, she wears a black tank top, or any black shirt, sometimes a dark gray and with the weather changing, she will occasionally wear a cyan hoodie that goes over her thumb to accommodate her nervousness.
For her bottoms, she'd normally wear tight jeans, but not too tight so that she can't move. It doesn't matter for the color, merely how it feels on her.
For her shoes, she really doesn't care as long as she can run in them and use them for a long period of time. So either combat boots or a sturdy pair of shoes.

Weapons:
Veronyka doesn't usually enjoy using weapons, but if she has to, she'll find just about any object and use it to her advantage.

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user:
Mental

Level of mental training:
She is an advanced level, but in an odd way. Her mind will think of it and it will be conjured up later. Kind of like a video game lag.

Powers:
Veronyka has the astral abilities, but it's oddly delayed. She will think of something one day, and the next day or so, it will appear. Sometimes even weeks. The external ability isn't even recognized by her, she merely sees it as a coincidence, but it's only in her known areas. It's never been anywhere she hasn't already been or seen before, so it's seemingly logical.

First usage of abilities:
The first time she used her abilities was around the age of 10, she thought of a kitten plate to eat on and a few weeks later, she found one out on the sidewalk, but someone had kicked it and it cracked. Saddened by the fact that she hadn't gotten to it before it had been kicked, she left it there and figured nothing of it-- merely a coincidence.

Visualization of medium:
Usually, when these 'coincidences' happen, Veronyka finds herself pondering deeply on something. Like, how a bicycle is put together and made and how she would design it and everything. And then, a day or so later, she'll see it somewhere she goes often, like the pizza shop. But, she won't take it because she still has a decent sense of courtesy.

Bio:
Veronyka was a battle born child. A woman raped within the war to a man she could not even see. Whether he was a Mental or not, she didn't know. But, her religious belief led her to harbor the baby until it was birthed, then release it to a home where it would be taken care of. Even through the war, Veronyka wasn't told much of anything of the outside world until she was older. Her eyes were opened and the stories flooded her mind, and caused her minor emotional distress.

As the days passed and whatnot, she found herself questioning... Questioning what? Everything possible. The current situation. The world around her. It just didn't seem... right.

Personality:
Veronyka is a sweet girl who's entirely capable of handling herself. She can go from sweet to a hard ass within seconds and doesn't mind going in for the kill. Her anger isn't necessarily the cutest thing, but she will stand up for what she needs. She's honest when she needs to be and knows when to tell that little white lie. But now a days, that's harder than telling the truth.

View of the situation:
"It's sickening. To be honest."

Age: presumably in his forties

Gender: male

Appearance:
mecha_pilot_by_meganerid-d4i5iqz.jpg

mecha_giant.jpg

Equipment: A mecha salvaged during the war, ten storys high, so everyone has an intercom to be able to speak with him while he is on it. He never say where it came from, but it has marks from hundreds of battles. Leader never really gets out of his pilot-suit. Though he sometimes climbs out of the big robot.

Weapons: The mecha is no longer armed with anything, but it can pick up people and small houses.

Normal/Mental/Cyborg/AI/Ppp-user: Normal ?

Level of mental training: ---

Powers: ---

First usage of abilities: ---

Visualization of medium: ---

Bio: Leader was born during the end of the war, and grew up in areas contested by those that didnt stop fighting. Somewhere along the line he aquired the monstdr of a mecha he uses as his home/veichle and power-statement. He founded the Post-nontals, one question burning in his mind; why did the real war end?
He has lead most of the searches for information himself, and he often brings people into the now big group without carng if they want to or not. For example his right hand, who initially wanted nothing to do with him.
He has been across most of the world, and people either knows him as the nontal-leader or the one-mecha-army due to what he managed during the false-war.

Personality: Leaders approach to more or less everything is that of the practical soldier;
Can I kill it?
Can I run?
Can I protect them?
He acts accordingly.

View of the situation:
The answers needs to be found. And If none else does it he will simply have to do it himself.

Name: Markot Felalorn

Nickname: Right-hand (of the leader), spinning gears

Age: possibly older than 80, he was an adult when the war began

Gender: male

Appearance:
An old man with a white beard. Though he is fit like at 49. He walks around with a smiths garments. His tanned skin showing how much the environment has tried to take him down.
600x721_12001_%D0%A1%D1%82%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B4%D0%B0%D1%82_2d_fantasy_old_man_soldier_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Equipment: gears, big ones, tiny ones. Heavy ones, sharp ones. He also brings a box full of chains around, he doesnt talk about it, but it has streaks of something black on it.

Weapons: the gears are all the weapons he need. Otherwise he uses what is close by.

Normal/mental/cyborg/ai/ppp-user: mental

Level of mental training: advanced. Though some stories about the war include a mental bringing enormous clockworks into battle.

Powers:
Concrete; external, long range, illogical, selfs
Astral; external, long range, logical, bodies
Markot moves and makes gears fit together in various contraptions, his concrete ability moving them and his astral steadying them in place.

First usage of abilities: An old clock he got from his father broke, but he made it move again, he still carries it around.

Visualization of medium: Markot imagines himself being inside any contraption he makes, securing the gears to their individual pipes. Making them move.

Bio: Markot led an ordinary life before the war began, and he had to fight for his life. He doesnt like to talk about the war, saying that it was simply wrong. Leader found him where he lived a quiet life repairing clocks, he said he wanted nothing to do with the war, but Leader didn't listen. And he got stuck as his right-hand man. Knowing people from the war, he is mostly trying to find where they are now and if they know something.

Personality: An old man that has seen war and decided that it is useless. He believes that some things arent meant to be known, and he is far to old to change his point of view.

View of the situation: The world of today is different than the world before the war. But if it is worse, that he isnt sure about. The war was bad, but the fruits of it may be a chance at a new beginning.

We will begin as a nontal caravan sets up camp outside a little community named Ahvenhaed. Ten miles away, Markot is moving with part of the group towards it. They are to gather some information and look for supplies.

(More information may appear)

Energy (primary) - Able to gather energy from sources such as fires and batteries into small colored balls (corresponding to the color of their corresponding "energy pellets") and release it again (causing the ball to dissipate at the area he wants the energy to be released), usually in a different area, also able to "compress" and solidify the energy taken into little glowing "pellets" (Their color corresponding to how much energy he took and what energy he tool example; heat from a fire compressed into a pellet will be orange, if it's just a small bit of heat it'll be a lighter color, and as more energy is gathered into it, it's color becomes darker, and more vibrant), external, close, illogical, triggered with an image of ghost like "hands" extending from him and gathering energy for a fire for example into a colored ball, and then releasing it in a designated area (within his ability)
Abstract (forgotten ability, can be tertiary I guess?) - Can "sense" strong emotions within others, has the occasional "future flash" usually after a memory relapse until he remembers this power (he'll have that occasional "flashback" when certain triggers happen), (he doesn't know how to do so yet) has the potential to see spirits and other entities like them, external, logical, medium range, he can usually achieve this by imagining himself in an world much like his own though more....

Name: Tylar Twelve

Nickname: Paladin

Age: Forty-two

Gender: Female... phenotypically

Appearance: Five foot ten, Tylar has a fairly androgynous build.

Equipment: All found & reclaimed in bunkers or taken from her first home.
One X-MOR Tactical Bulletproof vest in slate grey, next generation Spydersilk technology makes it as light as any average thermal vest and almost as warm. Your Spyder senses will be tingling™
One MERCURIE belt/harness combo, complete with 50 yards of cord, additional ammo storage, a SURVIVE-ALL straw, waterproof matches, & flare. MERCURIE keeps you going™
One pair BELEPHERON combat/hiking boots, slate grey, with self-repairing nanotechnology guaranteed to never wear out, & with memory gel for added comfort. BELEPHERON: no blister guarantee™
One bottle DOCTOR DAN'S spray bandage, antiseptic, antibiotic, antiviral, & anesthetic. The doctor cures everything™

Weapons: Two R-ALLY-ABLE pistols, 8 round clip with the possibility of keeping one in the chamber, plus four additional clips in the MERCURIE.

Silvir: Im sad to point this out, but your character is delusional xD
The war ended Thirty years ago, guess none told her that. But then again, some people didnt listen after the final battle. And I know what you did you sneaky son of a mother, fix it. Or add that little delusional touch ;)

York, we are getting there there.

Sabine: The strength of the abilities has no real impact on wheter you are classed as a simple or advanced ;)
I must say I enjoy the example of how things got, trying to get an edge in the war :)
Your power section... is ok, love explenations. And you gave the reason for it.

Reactions: Lady Sabine
Finished with my character! :3 Now for the judgement o-o

And judged you will be.
Change your forgotten abilities; logical
Known range would indicate that he sees the future of places he has been to, was this what you meant ?
So, do the spirits try to eat you ;)
And your secondary;
logical, you are not a jack of all trades are you, (possibly before but not at the moment)
Close range, or are the things permanently enhanced ? (Then you would kill yourself real quick)
And dont give people strange ideas xD
I take it he cant "heal" hinself ?
Those key events, what do you have in mind ;)

XD yeah he can't heal himself... Yet ;) Btw I edited the rest of the stuff... As for the key events... PM o-o

Added a little detail regarding the war:
It began 60 years ago, and the Big players stopped fighting after 30 years, at which point the world had more or less experienced the apocalypse.
But it took 20 years until all other forces had reached a stable cold-war situation.
Those 20 years of smaller scale conflicts are regarded as a part of the real war as far as the survivors are concerned. Though some veterans from the first 30 years speak of it as "the useless war".

Note to self don't make character at 2 am =w=

AND BIO FIXED!!!!

Your bio is faulty xD
What is that "advanced master" supposed to mean ?
And you need to further explain the power-section:
Other people may not understand what you mean ;)

Rawr what i miss now <.< wrote some of it on Word so its a bit copy paste.. -w-

Advanced means what you said it means master means she has mastered it nuff said :P
and just noticed a miss on 2 years in time span in bio -w- yay me......
And powers well energy and enhancement O_o can't i be mysterious and leave you guessing while i devilishly laugh at you ;P

Silvir:
I should have expected short descriptions from you. But make it clear, is master pointing out the fact that she knows how to handle her abilities, that she knows various abilities or that she uses her abilities very efficiently. Now do as your superior commands you soldier ;)
And you need to follow the cs as anyone else, you can be as vague with the power-section as you like. As long as you include everything ^^

Ai:
Elaboration, I feel as though certain significant facts needed for choherance are missing.
You missed a little detail in the power-section. And what his specific abilities are, unless you mean to say that he has all abstract abilities possible.
His first use of his powers; you explain the relation he has with his power, not when he first used it or what transpired during the arising situation. And in what way does his madness drive his power, is it causing him to view himself in a way which is akin to a mental image >> and thus he is an advanced mental ?
Visualization; who is Dealer ;)
Are you implying that as your character is insane he always perceives the visualization of his mental medium? Or is this the nature of his power, sharing jis own view of the world with others?
Your bio is straight into its own plot, which leaves some obvious facts unexplained.
Is he still in this mental institute, and if so is it located in the city where we will begin? If not then where is he now?
His view on the situation;
What nightmares ? The hallucinations his madness causes him to experience while he is still awake? Some other nightmares ?

I will fix it all when i get home from work tomorrow for now night folks and sorry for forgetting to fix this now got sidetracked by the web comic CTRL alt delete XD

(=Dl)

Much better ;)
But you still missed a few things:
The range of your powers is stated as "range", but what range xD
I understand that you just have to be close to him for his "reality" to envelope you as well ?
But how close, and is it an instant occurrence or does he have to notice/talk with you ?

And finally, where is this institute o.O are you in Ahvenhaed or somewhere else :) ?
