Rita Helmut
It all seemed so surreal to Rita. Her being chosen to become a Guardian must be some kind of joke. They say there was no formula as to who got chosen but if that was the case, why couldn't she had been skipped over. She just wanted to live a normal life not as the girl who didn't have parents. But now she was to become that one Guardian who had no parents. Maybe this was her parent's sweet sixteen gift to her. She wished she could give it back.
Rita sighed as her legs dangled over her high up perch on an abandon tower that her and friends found one day. Here everything looked so peaceful from far away. The people looked like ants hurrying themselves back to their ant hills while the buildings didn't look so bad. They could almost pass as decent. Way up here everything seemed so simple. There was no Guardians or people, it was just her and her thoughts. She covered her arms across her as chilly breeze brushed up against her.
Yet she couldn't shake that dream of that woman with the keyblade. Yeah it could have been her overactive imagination but something told her it was something more. Maybe it was just a dream that all soon to be Guardians also witness. She really hoped that was the case then maybe she wouldn't feel so strange. She shook her, locking the thought back up. She had better things to worry about after all. She held out her hand and stared at the symbol on the back of her right hand. Tomorrow was the Guardian ceremony where her, her friends, and some strangers would officially take up the mantle of Guardian.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of foot steps behind her. She turned her body so she could see who was walking up to her. A small smile crept on her face when she realized who it was. "About time you got here slowpoke." She chuckled a bit at their reaction before looking back over the city. "Can you believe it? Tomorrow we become Guardians and get our keyblades. Seemed like yesterday we were kids playing some silly game we thought of." Rita curled her legs up against her chest as she leaned against them. "To be honest, I'm afraid."
