Major Character Flaw: Avery often puts others before himself, even if it brings him danger or discomfort. He would rather see that the people around him are safe, even if he himself is not.​

Haning History

​

Avery was born and raised in Haning all of his life. Although he left for college for a few years, once he graduated he found himself gravitating back. Since then, he has found work at the town's small emergency clinic as a nurse. He enjoys his job immensely, and can often be found working overtime even on his days off.​

Background

​

William and Loraine: Avery's parents were high school sweethearts who got married too young, and stuck together out of fear of loneliness. Avery's parents have a reputation for being the town's drunkards. They can most often be found loitering around the neighborhood bar, or the drunk tank at the local sheriff's office. When they abuse substances, they are known to act belligerent and sometimes even violent. This has resulted in them getting into trouble with the law, and other townspeople. Even though they never wanted kids, Lorraine got pregnant and was pressured into keeping the baby. Now, they both resent Avery for being born and often mistreated him growing up.​

After years, Avery was able to escape them by going to college. However, due to his trauma, he was eventually lured back when Loraine became sick. Now, although he no longer lives with them, he financially takes care of them.​

Lucas Scott: He was Avery's best friend in college, and is one of the few people he still stays in contact with. Although Avery had a crush on him, he never worked up the courage to confess. Lucas has mentioned on several occasions that he wants to come to visit Avery soon, but Avery has always come up with an excuse because he is embarrassed for Lucas to meet his family.​

Colleagues: Avery is a very timid person, but he gets along fairly well with his co-workers. Although at times they might take advantage at his eagerness to help, he doesn't mind.​

Russell Morris

Appearance:
Although hard labour and time have done a job at weathering him, Russell is still a hardy man. His skin is rough and calloused. If he stood up straight he'd be 5'10, but he never does. His once dark hair has turned to white, but his grey eyes are bright as ever.

Personality:
Contemplative / Grumpy / Loyal / Hardworking / Suspicious
Major Flaw: Stubbornness

Haning History:
Russell is Haning born and raised. As was his father and grandfather before him. The old man has rarely even left the seaside town or his ancient cabin. He is a fisherman, having taken up the trade in adolescence to assist his father, and he also runs a small fish and tackle shop. He refuses to retire, although he spends a lot more time at his shop than on the sea these days.

Background:
Faye Morris — Wife, Deceased: Faye's family moved to Haning when she was in her teens. They were a secretive family who never quite seemed to fit, which earned them more than a couple of rumours. However, Faye was a vibrant and eclectic woman, and she charmed many of the residents. Including Russell. The two fell very much in love and married while quite young. Tragically, she died only a couple of years into their marriage. Her parents moved away not long after.

Bernice — Loyal Companion, 8: Russel's beloved dog, who he has raised since she was a puppy. She is a medium-sized black and white spaniel + collie mix with an energetic and affectionate personality.

Frank and Ruth Morris — Parents, Deceased: Russell did not have a great relationship with either of his parents, but it was better than the one they had with each other. Frank was much like his son, content with Haning and the life he had, while Ruth grew to resent how limited she felt in her life.

Ronnie Wilson — Old Friend, 69: Ronnie is Russell's close friend, and the only one of his childhood best friend group who is both still alive and living in Haning. The two have remained close throughout their lives, and can often be found smoking together.

Hazel Morris — Sister, 63: Hazel is Russell's younger sister. The two weren't the closest as children, although he has always been very protective of her. She lived in Haning until her mid-twenties when she'd saved up enough to go see more of the country. Every few years she makes a trip out to Haning to visit, although she lives comfortably on the west coast now.
