I love my independence. As weird as it sounds, I relish every day the fact that I alone am responsible for my wellbeing; I decide what food to eat and when, I wake up on time and keep my appointments without anyone checking on me. I drive my own car and buy the gas etc etc

I love the fact that I can just call anything I do "adulting". Paying bills? Adulting. Dancing around like an idiot in my own apartment? Super Adulting. Going out and buying my own tablet? Adulting. I also love just wandering around, not having to do things unless I decide to (outside of jobs) the ability to get my own job.

My favorite part is finally being able to view adult material on the internet. Those darn porn sites with their "are you 18?" questions kept me away from the goodies for many years, but after turning 18 I could finally hit yes! It was glorious then, over 7 years ago, and it's still glorious now. Being an adult is fucking rad.

I'm in complete agreement with Minibit on the independence.

I absolutely can't stand boiled potatoes but I have to force myself into eating one even when I'm a guest *shivers* and I love being able to decide what I want to eat without having to consider someone's irrational hatred for most veggies or dislike of fish.


Another pro is this: No comments if I stay out really late, I get treated a little less as a child and I don't have to force myself to be unnecessarily social with people I have no choice but to accept as a part of my life in present time.

Another bonus is of course the freedom that comes with controlling your own free time.

I like the "adulting" thing. That was neat. Really though, it's the independence; the freedom of choice. I can do what I want, when I want. It's nice.
