Hope now rests solely in the hands of the few willing to make the climb to stop the powerful beasts.

Rumors have been traveling through the lands of Fable that something dark has stirred within the heart of Wasslorien. Few will say it, but all have thought it... the Snow Queen has returned seeking vengeance for her imprisonment.

As winter's cold touch creeps along the borders, spreading across the land and Wasslorien's gates are mysteriously sealed shut, a desperate cry is sent throughout Fable for aid.

Eldridge's Prince has found a bride, but despite this happy news, not all is well within the small kingdom. Something has been haunting the dreams of the people, starting first with the happy couple and trickling down into the valley.

The coronation of Remoria's young prince is unexpectedly marred by an unusual discovery that leads the king and queen to suspect their son has been stolen, replaced by a goblin child.

Can the king find his missing child... and if he does, will he be able to wrestle the throne back from his family?

SETTINGS

Fabel is a land comprised of eight regions within the country, spanned out across multiple climates and cultures, each containing it's own separate monarchy. Ethelemar, the Forest Kingdom, Mulgrave, the Woodland Kingdom, Renloth, the Shore Kingdom, Bravgara, the Desert Kingdom, and Remoria, the Cove are the largest, while Wasslorien, the Mountain Kingdom, the Fortification of Vast, and Elderidge make up the remainder.

Many trade routes run between the kingdoms, but largely centralize within Renloth, at the Casbar Pier.

To date, Fable has coexisted in over a decade of peace in all the regions, but that may not be so for long. Rumors have begun circulating throughout the kingdoms ... war is coming, guaranteed to effect all. It will be a time for allies to rise or to fall... for all men to make a decision who to trust, and on whose side they will ultimately stand.

⎈ The Forest Kingdom ⎈

Ethelemar is located deep in the central region of Fable on the border of the forest and the Wasslorien River, home to a large, mingled population. Many years prior, Ethelemar was run by a wicked queen, Aladria. Her reign was challenged by her stepdaughter, who quickly won over the city populace, inciting them to wage war on the queen. With Aladria's defeat and subsequent banishment, magic was outlawed within the city limits.

The city popular is a largely comprised of foresters and hunters, though other trade workers, such as blacksmiths and millers are prevalent as well. The architecture relies heavily on wood and mud, and thatched roof cottages are widely among the chief building structure. In the center of Ethelemar, a large stone meeting hall was constructed, which can hold the vast majority of townspeople in the event of an attack.

The city is not walled, but the growth of trees surrounded Ethelemar are difficult to pass through with large garrisons of troops, horses or barrage weaponry. Within the city is a large shopping district, a massive library, a garden sanctuary containing numerous rare and exotic plant life, an observatory, and an abandoned Mage University.

This region's climate is largely temperate, with warmer summers and cooler winters. Ethelemar also experiences year round rain, though most particularly in the time leading up to summer.

Ethelemar is ruled over by King Christoffer (affectionately referred to as Charming) and his queen, Eirlys.

The royal family, including their daughter, Princess Roslyn reside in Bright Hedge - a sprawling palace sheltered in the shadow of the mountains of Wasslorien.

Located south of Ethelemar are the Falmar Plains - home to the vast majority of Ethelemar's livestock and farmland.

Destroyed in a fire many years ago, the land in southwestern corner of the plains (located near Wasslorien Falls) is largely unusable, comprised mainly of thorny bushes and thistle weed.

⎈ The Swamplands ⎈

Mulgrave lies to the southwest, across the bay from Vast and can only be reached by boat or a treacherous journey through Bravgara and across Remoria. Known well for their trade industry, Mulgrave is probably better known for the massive thieves guild centralized along what's called the Grave Road - a deep, dry bed river into which a series of caves have been carved.

The Kingdom in Mulgrave rests several miles from the Grave Road, a small, but thriving village, surrounding a stone fortification that serves as Mulgrave's palace. In the northern region of Mulgrave lie the Teldavi Swamp lands, home to many myths and legends. Mulgrave is ruled by King Lucien Certsei and his young wife of only a few years, Ylene. Rumors were sparked throughout Mulgrave that Lucien has ties to the thieves guild, which is why it's existence continues, despite the risk to Mulgrave citizens.

The climate in Mulgrave is generally warmer and extremely humid, with torrential rains in fall, spring and summer. Mulgrave sees very little in terms of snow.

The Grave Road was once a sprawling river, which ran through Mulgrave. Many years ago, for unknown reasons, the river bed dried up and caves were discovered within the walls. These caves were excavated for many years, but when Austid Certsei, an ancestor of Lucien Certsei died unexpectedly, the exploration was abandoned. Over time, the caves became occupied by all manner of riff raff, and eventually, though no one knows quite when, a thieves guild was formed, making the Grave Roads a highly dangerous location to traverse.

The Teldavi Swamp is exactly as it sounds - a massive swamp land located in the northern region of Mulgrave. These swamp lands have been home to rumor for many centuries of a dangerous, violent witch and for these reasons are seldom traveled.

Many stories exist, however, of visitors from foreign lands entering the swamp, to never be seen or heard from again.

⎈ The Sea Kingdom ⎈

Renloth is a kingdom entrenched in beauty. Set on the shoreline, the White Palace rests on the cliffs, overlooks the glassy sea, nestled between the Casbar Pier and Nymph's Row, and west of Fool's Mountain. A close ally with the neighboring kingdoms of Ethelemar and Vast, Renloth provides trade and transport, though is most commonly utilized for the former, bringing many supplies in from around the Nine Realms

Following the reign of his father, the current king Eliah Godfrey resides over Renloth - a sorrowful, melancholy man, though just and honorable in his leadership. Eliah and his wife Rachel parented three children - August, the heir-apparent, and his sisters, Isadore and Midge.

Renloth's climate is temperate, with extremely warm spring and summer. Rain falls year round, most abundant in fall. Renloth sees snow, though rarely outside of winter months.

Casbar Pier is a thundering trade post, the largest and most prolific in Fable. Comprised largely of a market bazaar and docks frequently accessed for both import and export, as well as travel. While Casbar Pier is effectively within Renloth lands, there are embassies within the control of other kingdoms throughout the Pier and it is often the center for diplomatic developments.

Nymph's Row is a lighthouse located south of Casbar Pier and Renloth Palace. Situated on the cliff line, this lighthouse serves as a guide for incoming ships, but is also said to be a beacon, protecting the shores of Renloth from long rumored nefarious oceanic creatures known as Sirens.

Fool's Mountain, found northeast of Renloth is a dark and mysterious bluff, the summit of which is never found without a ring of fog - regardless of time or season. It has been rumored that Fool's Mountain is home to the exiled queen of Ethelemar, though little proof exists beyond the strange weather conditions.

⎈ The Red Desert ⎈

The hot arid desert, the towering buttes and the savage culture, Bravgara, while hardly a wasteland is certainly no paradise. Located northwest, beyond the mountains of Wasslorien, Bravgara is home to the Monarchy of the Sun. Outside of the moderately sized city, Bravgara is sparsely populated with small groups of settlers here and there, spread throughout the desert and within the valleys. Towards the Northeast, beyond the Grim Lake, can be found a tribe of barbarians, a dangerous and ruthless crew, known for taking captives to barter as slaves.

While a monarchy exists within the Sun Palace, the whole of Bravgara isn't necessarily ruled over in force. The Family Drystane currently occupies the Sun Palace throne - as reasonable and just as rulers in Bravgara come.

Bravgara houses an arid, hot climate year round, seeing very little rain and next to no snow (except in the mountain region closer to Wasslorien).

The Dire Grove is an oasis located in the northern most region of Bravgara. Surrounded by a thick copse of spiny palms, the small, deep lake is difficult to locate, but with the rumors of the healing capabilities within the lake waters traveling world-wide, it's often sought after by travelers.

The Sun Palace is a city located near the west of Bravgara - a tower spire rising high above the bright, shifting sands of the desert. Surrounding the spire, lies a small city with a modest population of Bravgarians, with a small trading hub, a large market bazaar and a training ground for the Brava Guard. It has been long-rumored, though never clearly confirmed that a series of underground tunnels exist beneath the city, as long as the distance between the Sun Palace and Wasslorien.

Once a deep underground spring, The Grim Lake was split apart in a quake many centuries ago, leaving a gaping hole in the desert sands. The reflection of sun against the bright colors of the desert stone leaves the simmering lake with a cast of deep reds and oranges, giving the impression that it is, in fact, liquid magma. Still, truer to magma than water, the heat of the lake is so intense, to enter to water would result in near immediate death and for this, the Grim Lake is greatly feared and generally avoided.

⎈ The Cove ⎈

Located in the Western Cove, Remoria sits high on the cliffs above the sea, nestled within the folds of the Western Hills. Remoria's history is a dark one, born from the blood and ashes of many civil wars - waged between two clans - the Madgar Clan and the Torn Clan. Currently, the kingdom is ruled over by Lord Edwin Madgar. The clan's reign began as recent as Madgar's childhood, after his father, Jerome, successfully sacked the city and claimed it for his own from the former King, Braeden Torn.

Civil unrest in not uncommon within Remoria, though in recent years has escalated greatly due to Edwin Madgar's choice in bride - the eldest daughter of Braeden Torn - eliciting ire from both the Madgar Clan and Torn Clan alike.

Remoria's climate is humid and warm, though cooler in the winter months, with rain in spring and fall. Fog is extremely prevalent, most especially in summer and fall.

Nemco's Warf lies south of Remoria - a volatile port, an infamous berth for outlaws, assassins and fugitives. Traversing the warf is dangerous, but can be intensely fruitful if one is able to survive. Even those outside of Remoria know if aid is required from a less than reputable source, Nemco's is the place to find it.

The House of Gant was a once proud family, the original rulers of Remoria - fierce and powerful, but ultimately far too trusting. Betrayed by the opposing clans of Madgar and Torn, the family was slain, their home left in ruins.

Few venture into or near the ruins for fear that they are haunted.

⎈ The Mountain Land ⎈

Mystery shrouds the Mountain Kingdom. Nearly central to Fable, Wasslorien is ruled by a man of uncommonly long years, Trinton Davertry. A formidable man, as cold as the mountain upon which he serves. Long has been his reign and rumor persists that magic has somehow attributed to this, making him greatly feared among his people.

⎈ The Fort ⎈

Located southeast of Ethelemar and Renloth, Vast is a fortified city, largely militaristic in both structure and populace. Vast is overseen by the Drastiel family, most currently Lord Gregor Drastiel, the eldest son of Corbin Drastiel - a man once believed to have struck down a terrible troll to whom Vast had previously belonged.

⎈ The Northern Kingdom ⎈

Elderidge is the northern most kingdom within Fable - situated just beyond the treeline. For many years, it was said that Elderidge Forest was cursed - the land terrorized by a vicious, unearthly beast, but since the king's recent marriage to the daughter of a sailor from Ridge Point, these tales have become less and less prevalent. Elderidge is generally temperate, with frequent rain and fog, particularly towards the coast.

⎈ Elderidge Port ⎈

Ridge Point is a moderately sized fishing town, west of Elderidge - the former home of Elderidge's young queen. Primarily the home to sailors and fishermen, and their families, Ridge Point has a booming market, but cracks of poverty exist within the town, most prevalent in the southern district.

⎈ The Tower ⎈

Tornem Tower rests north of Ethelemar, high on a hill overlooking the ocean. Little is known about the structure, but stories exist that it was once an enchanted prison belonging to a terrible ogre - a curse enacted upon the tower that any who enter may never leave.

While no proof has ever been adequately presented to these claims, strange occurrences, including several disappearances have surrounded the tower in an air of mystery and intrigue.

⎈ The Trade Port ⎈

Warden's Bay, settled east of Tornem Tower is a small, but pleasant fishing village. Because of it's size, Warden's Bay is often overlooked, but with the finalized construction on it's pier, the village hopes to make a name for itself as a port for travelers to and from Fable.

BIOGRAPHY || Christoffer was born the only son of a wealthy Lord beyond the glass sea. As a child, his family took up land and residence within the region of Ethelemar. Before his eighteenth birthday, Christof's parents arranged for him to marry, but determined that his future should not be left up to an arrangement of fortune or convenience, the young Lord was able to convince his father to allow him the opportunity to find a bride of his own choosing. An extravagant ball was thrown and it was there that Cristof came across a fair creature who almost immediately won his heart. Unfortunately and mysteriously, the girl fled the ball before Cristof could learn her name, leaving behind only a solid glass shoe on the steps of the palace. Set on finding her, Cristof began a hunt throughout the kingdoms for the maiden, and after an exhaustive search he found a princess whose foot fit the majestic slipper... The pair were married, their land combined, Ethelemar growing vastly in size.

BIOGRAPHY || Not much is known about the young queen of Bright Hedge, whose foot fit the mysterious slipper of glass. The step daughter of the once feared queen, Eirlys is a cold woman, fashioned with very little in terms of a bright disposition, somewhat the product of her environment in which she was raised. In truth, a wicked core rests beneath the frigid exterior, carefully composed, but ever present… directly hinged on a lie. She is not, nor has she ever been the girl from the ball.

BIOGRAPHY || Roslyn is every bit the warmth her mother lacks. A beacon of boundless joy, she finds her strength in the happiness and well being of others, but none more than her father, whom is her heart's joy.

BIOGRAPHY || The queen of Mulgrave is considerably less complex than her husband, a delicate creature, soft spoken and reserved. While the king remains the main source of suspicion among their subjects, rumors do persist that her highness is, in fact, unable to bear children… substantiated thus far by lack of an heir.

BIOGRAPHY ||King Eliah is a terribly sad man. He hasn't always been so, but some unspoken tragedy within the folds of his past has shrouded him in great sorrow. Nevertheless, he remains a good, honest king.. loyal and just, a kind husband and diligent father. While never confirmed, stories exist that in his youth Eliah loved a mercreature and it was this forbidden relationship which attributes to his anguish.

BIOGRAPHY ||Rachel is an immeasurably kind, patient woman, who loves her husband to a fault. The sadness which follows him has taken its toll on the young queen, but has also fortified her to a greater degree, affording her the strength necessary to stand firmly beside Eliah.

BIOGRAPHY ||The eldest child of Renloth's king and queen, August holds a great deal of responsibility. For this reason, he has always been considerably cool and calculating, measuring every action with enormous consideration. He isn't, however, devoid of a sense of adventure, and takes rather spectacularly to traveling the realms.

BIOGRAPHY ||Isadore is what her elder brother lacks. All adventure and vision, she loathes to sit still, a disposition made difficult by her father's innately overprotective nature. She holds a particular fascination with the sea, though she has never ventured closer to it than the palace walls.

BIOGRAPHY ||Midge is all innocence and grace, a simple blend of both of her sibling. Her close relationship with her father has made her exceptionally intuitive to his spirit, and for this she has become something of a mediator between her stoic brother and lofty sister.

With little prospect in a matriarch society, he has little qualms in utilizing his position of power to manipulate his circumstances, particularly where the fairer sex is concerned.

BIOGRAPHY ||Aryanne, the heir apparent, takes her role unmitigatingly serious. So transfixed is the princess with her future role that she often needs reminding that she isn't yet queen. Despite these constant reminders, Aryanne continues to behave with an air of superiority and can be quite conniving, particularly where her siblings are concerned, from whom she constantly fears opposition.

BIOGRAPHY ||Garlet reflects near polar opposition to his elder siblings, and is in fact so different that it has prompted rumors of his paternity, something his mother has, in fact, never actually corrected. BIOGRAPHY || Despite being the youngest of her siblings, Beyla possesses a remarkable air of maturity and self-awareness. She detests the brutal nature of her homeland, and desperately hopes to someday gentrify the city, allowing for more diplomatic relations with the neighboring kingdoms.

BIOGRAPHY ||Leia is a young, fragile woman, adamantly different in manner than her family. It is for this reason, largely, that she so intently caught the eye of young Edwin. When the two were wed, Leia became the first queen of Remoria to come from an opposing clan, the first queen to possess a spirit of kindness and grace.

BIOGRAPHY ||Trinton has been described all too often and all too accurately as an empty, shallow man, devoid of any characteristics becoming a king. Stories exist, though none have been fully proven, that somewhere down the line, Trinton made a deal with the Winter Queen, trading his soul for the power to rebuild Wasslorien after financial collapse.

BIOGRAPHY ||Hanna is a wisp of a woman, a fragile, willowy thing with very little substance inside and out. Her marriage to Trinton was largely political, almost entirely without emotion, which she doesn't bother to mask.

BIOGRAPHY || Gregor is a powerful, imposing man, every bit the commanding force his father before him was, though considerably less volatile and quick to action, a trait no doubt instilled in him having watched his father's impulsive mistakes. While hardly apparent on the surface, the Lord of Vast does possess a soft spot, most particularly for his wife.

BIOGRAPHY ||Alexander began his reign over Elderidge beneath the shadow of intrigue. News of beasts, hunting within the Elderidge forest heralded his coronation, and those stories grew more and more abundant as time passed, but Alexander remained quiet on the issue, giving little thought of action towards eliminating the perceived threat, or even investigating.

BIOGRAPHY ||Cathan is an intensely patient young woman, the youngest daughter of a shipping merchant from Ridge Point. Her marriage to Alexander came as something of a shock, given her lack of status, but it became abundantly clear following the wedding that Cathan brought to Elderidge a much needed sense of grace and compassion, tempering the often irritable king in a way none could have anticipated.

BESTIARY

MERMAIDS

Little is known regarding the origin of the mercreatures, though some stories suggest they are born from the tears of the widows of lost sailors. What is understood, however, is that while curious, mermaids are not gentle or good beings. Their volatile nature is clearly displayed in a history of unusual attacks on ships and their crew, most particularly off the coast of Renloth.

It has been suggested that Renloth is largely targeted because of the current king's history with the mysterious creatures, but little proof exists to confirm the thought.

GIANTS

While only one record exists regarding giants, rumors of the beasts have thrived throughout Fable for centuries. The most popular tale speaks of a young boy's journey up an enchanted beanstalk, and while there is no evidence that suggests merit to the story, since it's conception, merchants have found it increasingly difficult to peddle beans of any kind within the land of Fable.

GOBLINS

Goblins are rumored to be neglected or orphaned children, stolen from their cradles. They are horribly deformed by their abductors and raised in cruelty and shame, until little of their humanity remains. Said to take up residence beneath the ground, Goblins surface only once every few years to collect new victims. When they do venture above ground, they dress in rags and cover their faces with shrouds, allowing them to better blend in with mankind, but their shuffling walk and the deep rasp of their voice has been known to give them away. Because they are often small in stature, it has been suggested that Goblins employ wild dogs as mounts.

FAIRIES

Fairies, while few can claim to have ever encountered one personally, are almost always considered a powerful and sentimental force among the people of Fable. Many varying descriptions make it difficult to pin down a fairy's aesthetic, some accounts suggesting they're no bigger than a firefly, others depicting them with very little difference from human beings. While most stories indicate fairies to be gentle, good natured creatures, there have been accounts of mischief among their kind, and a tale or two of fairy folk gone wrong.

Spectres are entirely what they sound like. Haunting visions said to be found throughout the land of Fable.While most are harmless, little more than illusions, there do exist some considerably more threatening species, found within the regions of Bravgara, Wasslorien and parts of Vast.

WOLFMEN

Wolfmen are precisely what their name would suggest. While little is known as to the origin of their circumstances, it is assumed because of the rarity of it, there is potentially something hereditary to the condition. The word 'curse' has been thrown around in reference to the affliction, though it has never been proven as a contributing factor.

NYMPHS

Because of their ability to shift in form, little is known about what a nymph truly looks like. Mischievous to a fault, it isn't uncommon for nymphs to lure those who wander into the woods into trouble - though they seem rather inclined against hunters in particular.

GRIFFONS

These creatures, bird and beast combined are rumored to live within the mountainous region of Wasslorien, particularly in the cavernous underbelly of the mountain. Though the idea of taming the Griffons are virtually unheard of, there are artist depictions which suggest this isn't entirely impossible.

[*] Remember, while the goal is to have a fun, creative experience we can't do that if we're waiting for you to post! Try to respond as promptly as possible... If for any reason you can't make a reply that day, try to let us know!

[*] The rating for the roleplay is Mature (+15) - that does not mean you get to go crazy, however. I ask that you respect the other players by keeping any graphic/inappropriate material out of the storyline, including graphic violence/language and situations of a sexual nature. Anything beyond kissing, fade to black and if you have to curse, please keep it to a one or two swear words per-post minimum. Anything beyond these standards will result in a warning and could lead to expulsion from the roleplay. This is not a redstar/bluestar RP.

[*] No Godmodding/God-Moding/Bunnying/Whatever you know it as. Please, don't control/kill other characters without permission! And try to remember that everyone has limitations/weaknesses. As "Head Gamemaker" of this RP I'll be leading the storyline in the right direction but I won't kill off, injure or in any way immobilize your character (without your permission *lol*) -- But know that there WILL be situations of danger/peril that your character will be involved in, and it's highly unlikely they will escape completely unscathed. There won't be any pop quiz or anything, but it always helps to test the water, before jumping in, and I will be paying attention to ensure quality control, particularly where mechanics are concerned.

[*] I consider this a cooperative story-writing roleplay... Basically all that means is that I ask that you try to keep the length of your posts to a THREE (good-sized) PARAGRAPH MINIMUM. [*] Magic is not the end all, beat all and can be incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands. There are limits both to the magic one can use, as well as to how one uses it. Spells must be incanted, either verbally or mentally. Only a very powerful wizard can use non-verbal incantations. Magic, if used improperly or by someone not possessed of the gift can result in drastically unexpected results, including spell-failure, spell-misinterpretation, injury or even death.

Most spells are simplistic and rational in nature and are performed on or with inanimate objects. Spells performed on a person can only be accomplished by a direct link (such as eye-contact or physical touch). There is no known source of magic capable of directly causing the death of another being. Fundamentally, magic is elementally-inclined, but can also influenced by astronomy.

The use of sorcery (including, but not limited to, spells, charms, tokens or other magical paraphernalia) is forbidden within the walls of any city. The improper or unapproved use of magic within a city is punishable by the full extent of the law.

Magical characters MUST be approved by me, specifically, before a CS is created.
