Fortunately Jack was able to befriend the animals and they adopted him into their posse.
 
Unfortunately, there was a rite of passage that Jack must undergo to join their posse.
 
Fortunately, the Rite was just that Jack had to wear a fur-suit and act like one of them for an arbitrary amount of time.
 
Unfortunately, Jack was very against wearing fur suits.
