FMA: Alchemists on a Mission

Fierro fell to the ground when she released him during Cassius's attack. This wasn't good. Not only was she a skilled fighter, but also pretty ruthless. "What do you want," Fierro asked as he tried to stand. It was pretty useless, but Fierro tried. She just smiled and turned her head to Fierro. "I need you two do open a gate," she replied as she extended her arm to attack Fierro again. This time Fierro created a wall of vines to protect him. It was dense enough to stop her attack. As he continued to ensnare her in vines, Fierro's vision became hazy. He was running out of energy and strength. Despite this Fierro continued his assault. Eventually she was trapped in a wall of vines. Fierro forced her to retract her nails from Cassius as the vines bound her.

It wasn't long before she was free, but this time she was retreating. Now on the top of the building, Lust continued, "He was right, you two are perfect candidates." With that remark, she licked her nails which were covered in their combined blood and smiled erotically at them. Then just as she came, she disappeared.

Fierro lowered the vines so that they provided something for him to lean on. He could see that Cassius wasn't in great shape either. Honestly, Fierro could barely walk. Nevertheless, he moved towards Cassius asking, "How are you holding up?" Fierro was afraid since there was a good possibility that the hospital wasn't going to be good. He hoped there would be someway to get medical help.

Cassius did not have much trouble standing, but he couldn't move his arms. He had faced a new emotion for the first time, true terror. That women no creature could have killed both of them with ease had she wanted, but it chose not to this is what frightened him the most. He stared off in the direction that the homunculus ran off in. He hardly heard Fierros question, but after it registered he realized if he did not anwser his fear would be obvious. He looked over to Fierro he tried to hide his feeling as best he could and said "I'm not able to move arms much, but u can still walk." He saw his swords on the floor he bent down to transmute them back onto himself. since he could tell Fierro was in worse condition and still able to transmute he felt he should be able to do it. He had to strain himself to move his hand to grab the sword. After he grabbed it he transmuted it back into armor it. After he finished he had to stand still for a little because it took alot out of him. He walked over to the second sword and did the same thing , although this time he fell down when he was finished. It took him a minute to get back up.

Fierro leaned heavily on the plant life. He knew that it was pointless to offer help, but he still hated to see Cassius in such a state. Trying to think of someway to get the two of them out of there and into a safe location, Fierro noticed someone approaching. He turned painfully on his heels to see who was there. It was a young girl dressed in a simple blue dress. She seemed small and weak. Going up to the two she smiled shyly as she helped Fierro walk and said, "Follow me I can help." She was cautious when leaving the alley way. She led them to a small house just outside of town.

The house was small, but looked reasonable. Obviously it was it's own entity from the town. Standing on it's own, the house seemed to have a presence of it's own. The girl opened the door and helped Fierro into a room with a bed. Once he was situated, she got a first aid kit and began to stitch him up. "You're next," she stated glancing towards Cassius. And she didn't lie. The girl sewed up the open gashes, but was stumped at the bullet wound. The bullet was meant for close range and did some substantial damage. Not only had it tore through his muscle, but it was dangerously close to his heart. Thankfully it did go all the way through, so she didn't have to dig out a bullet. Without his shirt, Fierro looked paler than freshly fallen snow...in short he looked terrible. From the wounds alone, someone would have thought he was a corpse. After she dressed his wounds she laid him down on the bed and told him to rest. Then she moved onto Cassius.

Fierro did as he was told grimacing through the motions. Once lying on his back Fierro allowed his thoughts to drift. They went back to that fight and how horrible everything went. Not only were they injured, but they were pretty much out-of-commission for the time being. Also, they were in a strange land where no one seemed to want them. This wasn't very good. The other thing on his mind was that homunculus. Not only did she terrify him, but her words chilled him to the bone. Perfect candidates What did that mean? Candidates for what? The more he thought about it the worse he seemed to feel.

Cassius watched the girl as she healed Fierro. At first Cassius was wary of trusting the girl, but they had no choice they had no one in the town they could go to and calling for help was not an option to them. Fierro looked terrible it seemed a miracle that he was able to walk all the way to the house even with the assistance of the young girl. The bullet wound could have been much worse though had it been a little farther it would have pierced his heart. Cassius was glad that they gotten help in time he had little experience in treating wounds.

After the girl treating Fierro she walked over to Cassius to begin treating him. After their encounter he was cautious about letting her treat him, but decided to let her. She took off his armor and began to treat the gashes in his arms. They went clean through so treating them was pretty easy it as simply a matter of stopping the bleeding. After she was finished he had several stitches on his arms where he was stabbed. He was lucky the girl knew how to stop veins from bleeding or he might have bleed out.

The girl walked out of the room. Cassius though to the fight. He was completely helpless in front of that homunculus. It was the first time he had ever felt completely helpless. He looked up to Fierro and asked "Have you ever seen anything like that.. homunculus before?"

Fierro was still extremely weak and began to slip in and out of consciousness as the girl treated Cassius. "Actually," Fierro began pushing himself into a better position, "I've seen one before, but this was the first time I've fought one." Fierro relaxed trying to catch his breath. After the fight, Fierro's heart refused to relax. Finding himself a bit, Fierro continued, "She said something about candidates. What do you think she meant?" Fierro was afraid of what that could mean. No, terrified. Something about that woman's tone of voice scared him to death. She wasn't there to kill them, but rather to test them. It wasn't something that he wanted to think about. As Fierro waited for his response, the girl returned to the room.

"You two should get some rest," she stated softly before returning to the other room. Then another figure appeared in the doorway. This time it was a fully grown man. He looked forlorn and rather pathetic looking. Fierro was cautious at the appearance, but then realized who it was. "Maximus, is that you?" He asked looking closely at the man's face. In response, the man looked into Fierro's eyes and smiled. Going over to the two, Maximus took a seat.

"You look like shit," Maximus stated in a teasing tone. Fierro smiled replying, "you do too." The two laughed softly before Maximus turned to Cassius, "So you're new. I'm Maximus, I was part of the military branch in this area before everything went to ruins."
