The Orchidlings were surprisingly squishy and not threatening, even in such large numbers. As such, Antebelle ignored them and kept shooting Orchid's petals. However much damage she was doing clearly wasn't significant enough for the flora to notice, as it had singled out Ace, Cap, and Virgil. Only some thin, weak vines fell on Antebelle after it had it's little fit, doing a solid 0 damage. Belle just brushed them aside, allowing the Orchidlings to chip away at her health for a bit as she stood in place and kept shooting.
Then it occurred to her that Orchid was looking directly at her three ensnared compadres -- and the damn thing didn't even have any eyes! Belle ceased fire and took care of the Orchidlings harassing her, them having dealt only 10 damage to her before she shot, stomped, and whipped them into nonexistence. Too bad there was only about a hundred more, but they would be dealt with in time. Instead, she walked to where Ace, Cap, and Virgil had been trapped (and crushed the Orchidlings in her way underfoot), and switched to her Ice Beam.
The light of her armor and Drain Lasso changed from a hot red to a cool cyan, with the tip of her arm cannon giving off an icy fog. She aimed at Orchid's petaled mug, and fired a trio of shots of subzero energy, which would likely freeze or frost over one of the petals. "I don't think so, Flower Power," she taunted, the filter of her voice making it sound more sinister than it really was. "Time for you to chill out!"
And no, she couldn't help but to make the pun.
Once Belle was in range of the vines trapping her companions, she flung her Lasso at them and began sapping health at a rate of 5 HP/second, and began firing at the vines with her Ice Beam; ideally the beam would freeze a section of them all the way through so someone inside could shatter them. Despite the rather slow speed of the beam's projectiles, at this range it would have been near-impossible to miss as she began freezing (or frosting) over the vines with every shot. It had twice the rate of fire of her Plasma Beam, but 2 shots per second was still fairly slow, in Belle's opinion. The damage wasn't remarkable, but since Orchid was a plant, it probably was weak to the cold, right?
