Plot: Since the beginning of time there has always been those cursed to live life out of view of society. Creatures that never truly fit with humans. We mostly call them fairy tales. Stories to tell our children, and to coax their imaginations. Tho fear is always something that must be overcome, and in this sense stories were made. Stories that have very real truth to them. Stories that explain why when you are alone in your room at night; all alone, and defenseless with your senses flaring telling you that we are not alone. These feelings hold true to the fact we are not alone. That those things that go bump in the night are still there. Those books we made to convince ourselves that we have nothing to be afraid of do have one purpose. We use them to keep you in the light, and them in the dark. We have existed as long as they have. We fight them in any way we can. So much so that as of late we have integrated them into society. That man next to you on the bus, why he could be a vampire. That hairy butcher you got your steaks from a werewolf.

The laws they live by are what allow them to live. Feeding bars, designated living, and monitored communications are just a few of the ways we keep them in check. Sometimes they slip up, and people go missing. That is when we must step in, and correct the problem. The system is flawed as there are those we are oblivious too. Drifters if you would. Moving from city to city to avoid our watchful eye. That is why we are still here. We hunt those whom break the laws we have set, and wish ill on the innocent. We have our hands in every government across the world. To help protect the "dominant species". However in the last five hundred years these creatures have become cleaver. Adaptability has always been our strong suit. As now we use their own to hunt them with.

The Creatures: See post number 5. Anything marked with an " * " may be played, but you must do your research into the creature as most have different types. Also I will allow creatures not on the list, I simply need to approve them first.

E.S.N.A:

The organization is above all else hidden from the world, and its people. They work from the shadows, and tend to never involve themselves with civilians. Living inside their bases their needs are meet to the fullest. Those of the supernatural who have sworn service to ESNA are given special treatment to the laws of their people. However the organization is the only job you will ever have. As all members can only quit through death. Depending on rank they are given allowances to spend how they wish. Members are bond by a set of laws that must be upheld, for breaking them means death.

Never harm an innocent.

Never involve the media.

Never be seen.

Never fail the organization.

Height:

Weight: (Both in pounds, and kilograms. simply find a conversion table)

Occupation:

Species:

Bio: (Optional)

EXTRA RULES:

I don't except much just a reasonable time frame for posts, and the approval of character sheets. Characters are not immortals, and as such if at some point their life is in danger simply talk it out, as you may always make another character.

So is anyone up for this idea?

ADDED NOTE:

ESNA works in a ranking system, and divisions withing itself.

Rank 1-10 is simply your pay grade, and ability for recreation.

Ranks 1-2 have little to no freedom, and must be accompanied by other members of the same rank, or higher for off grounds activities.

Ranks 3-5 Have proven they can be trusted, and are given freedoms of privacy.

Ranks 6-9 Are given freedom to house off grounds, but are still required to have inspections from their commanders once a month.

Rank 10 Known as commanders they are given freedom and privacy to do as they please in off grounds life. Day to day life is making sure their group is in mission ready condition at all times.

The divisions are as fallows.

Hunting: The task force of ESNA. If it requires force of any kind then the hunters receive their orders from commanders.

Research: Given access to old tomes, and the most powerful computing devices of the modern world they are in place to make sure that when knowledge is needed it is given fast. They also double as cover if the government authorities are involved.

Medical: Injuries happen, and as you would assume there are on staff doctors.

Administrative: Only the oldest members who have been in the flay for long enough may advance here. They handle anything from orders down to budget. They are the closest anyone gets to seeing the head of the organization.

Would you allow original species that aren't necessarily part of the "traditional" gamut of fantasy creatures? I have one that I think would fit really well.

Their numbers are few, and far between since the great flood caused by the almighty. To kill a Nephilim one must use a old, and forgotten perfume known as Qeres. Sleep*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Lan Schultheiss

Appearance: Wispy, would be the best word to describe Lan; if only one word were to be applied. She is perpetually possessed of a deathly pallor and her frame seems to be afflicted by an extreme slightness. Long, black, silken hair trails down her back; stopping just at her lower back. Her face, though it once may have been rounded and smooth, has lost much of its girlish charm, making her gaunt about the cheeks; though not so much one would immediately expect her condition. Almond shaped blue eyes are situated a respectable distance from a 'button' nose and ever-tightened lips. She is narrow about the shoulders, waist and chest, but long of limb; giving her a rather gangly appearance.

Age: One hundred and seven.

Height: 5'8

Weight: 116 lbs. 52.6 kg.

Occupation: ESNA, Hunting Division. Rank 1. (Consistently demoted for poor performance in battle.)

Species: Jiangshi. A Jiangshi is a Chinese creature commonly referred to as a "hopping zombie" or "hopping vampire" that feeds on the life energy (qi, chi, ki, whathaveyou) of their intended prey. The Jiangshi of today are less antiquated than their forerunners and forgo the traditional Qing Dynasty garb they are traditionally pictured with. The Jiangshi have a variety of weaknesses and objects that repel them including:

Mirrors. A mirror is lauded as being 'the essence of liquid metal' being dark on the inside and bright on the outside. Jiangshi are terrified of their own reflection.

Fire. Cited as making 'blood rush forth' and 'making bones cry'. A bane of most undead creatures, the Jiangshi shies from the sight of fire and holds no love for the 'passionate' element.

Straw Brooms. This is an oddity among the Jiangshi's weaknesses, but it said that such a creature can be literally swept back into their grave by such an implement. The Jiangshi has an aversion to this common tool and attempts to avoid them, though the true risk of being swept back into their grave is largely nullified.

Handbells. No direct cause is known for this phobia, but the Jiangshi find the sound detestable.

Jujube Seeds. Though for them to be truly effective, the seeds must be nailed into the back of a Jiangshi along specific pressure points; merely seeing the seeds is enough to unnerve the creature.

Items made from Peach Tree wood. It (the peach tree) is said to contain the essence of the Five Elements, which can subjugate evil auras and deter wayward spirits.

While many methods exist for creating a Jiangshi, the most common is the transference of their 'sickness' through a bite or scratch. The other means revolve around happenstance or the disquiet of a tormented soul (be it through a particularly violent death or suicide). Lan was 'born' into her undead existence by the refusal of her soul to leave its mortal shell, denying her the chance at an entrance into the afterlife; reanimating her as a creature of the night.

Bio: (Will be explored IC, since it's optional and all.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Miles B. Gereon

Appearance: Miles is average in most regards; bearing an untidy mop of brown hair and brown eyes, with no highly notable features but a small mole that sits off-center (slightly to the left) on his chin and the slight thickness of his lips. His build is nothing special, but he works (from time to time) on his physique. Usually spotted wearing a nondescript gray hoodie and well-worn blue jeans. While some would call him adequately handsome, he often lets his laziness dictate the caliber of his appearance; meaning, simply, that he is often disheveled.

Age: Nineteen.

Height: 5'11

Weight: 157 lbs. 71.2 kg.

Occupation: Unemployed. Unofficially Ruby's 'assistant'.

Species: Human.

Bio: -

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moogle-Girl*
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: He goes by Nash Devonshire, but his true name is Radimir.

Species: Nash is a somnus, a being who feeds on human fear and controls illusory magic. Somni are reclusive by nature, drawing their victims into the shelter of darkness and releasing them when they are drained. Their biggest weakness is the sun; sunlight burns them and makes it harder for them to feed. Their large, sensitive noses are good targets as well. To kill a somnus, you can either starve it by locking it away or keeping it in the sun, and for good measure, spreading its true name -- all somni have an aura about them that instills slight, nagging fear and agitation in anyone nearby, but anyone who knows its true name will become immune -- or you can sever both of its hands, releasing the energy within it and causing it to wither away within seconds.

Appearance: Without any illusions to disguise his true appearance, Nash is just as terrifying as any somnus. He has a roughly humanoid skeletal structure, but his thick skin sags in long, leathery folds that hang all over his body, especially around his waist, hips, and forearms. His skin is pitch black all over except for his hands; the skin there is translucent, allowing people to see the muscles and bones there. His fingers are spindly and very long -- about twelve inches -- with four joints as opposed to a human's three. His legs are very flexible, able to fold up comfortably against his back, hidden in the folds of his skin.

His face is mostly taken up by his nose, which is shorter than a human's but has three large nostrils. His ears are large and triangular and point backwards, hugging the side of his face. Like all somni, he has no discernible lips, though his mouth is full of specialized fangs that can fold up into his mouth, lying horizontally against his jaws. When his fangs are folded outwards, they don't interlace well and jut outwards at a slight angle, like a cartoon anglerfish. His eyes, by contrast, are very small and weak, looking like black pinpricks in comparison to the rest of his face.

Age: 26. The average lifespan of a somnus is almost the same as that of a human, though they mature much faster.

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 162 lbs, 73.5 kg

Occupation: Member of the ESNA Hunting Division, rank 2, specializing in the hunting and disabling of thralls.

Bio: Nash's history can be summed up handily in one word: outcast. Picked on for not being able to levitate like the others and ostracized for getting too buddy-buddy with the local humans, he was booted from his coven years ago and left to wander the world on his own. It never seemed like he could get lucky with his hunts; every town he stalked was full of natural warriors and severely lacking in vulnerable women and children. He never felt like he belonged, until he found ESNA. Finally, he had his calling. He could live among people who appreciated him, and there were always people to target in the secrecy of the night on behalf of the organization.

Nash is required to tell all of his associates his true name, to discourage him from going rogue and hunting on the inside. It's humiliating, but very much worth it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aya-Chan *
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Ayaka Yuurei, prefers to be called Aya

Appearance: She has dark, raven colored hair that goes just past her waist, with side-swept bangs cut right above her brilliant, silver eyes. When she is out on a job, she tends to keep her hair in a braid. Aya's facial features are soft, with a small crescent shaped scar under her left eye and a smile that can light up a room. She wears blue jeans with the ends tucked into military-style combat boots that reach her knees. Plain T-shirts are her go-to item of choice for a top and she has a dark brown leather pack that she wears on her back. Aya has a dagger strapped to her hips kept hidden under her black trench coat that reaches her mid-thigh, inside her coat is a few throwing knives as well. Her right ear is pierced twice, with small silver rings in each hole and prayer beads are wrapped around her left hand.

Age: 18

Height: 5'3

Weight: 120 lbs. About 54 kg

Occupation: ESNA, Hunting Division. Rank 3

Species: Human Spiritualist, with a range of specialties. She knows a lot about curses, ghosts, parapsychology and things of that nature.

Bio: Although she is only 18, she has been working for ESNA for two and a half years. More to be reveled later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddeline*
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Faith

Appearance: Human and WereWolf

Age: Thirty

Height:
Human: 5.417 feet/ 1.651 meters
Werewolf: 3.75 feet/ 1.143 meters

Weight: 120 lbs/ 56.699kg

Occupation: Hunter, Rank 6

Species: WereWolf (Lycan, normal)

Bio: Faith suffered a terrible incident while being turned into a Lycan. The incident was a car crash into an ocean as the driver was mauled by a werewolf. Faith forgot her name, home, family, friends...everything. She took up the name 'Faith' in hopes of one day finding her identity. Because of her being forced into a Lycan, she took up being a hunter for revenge. She can turn into a werewolf if she is hurt badly or if the night is a full moon. Her werewolf form has been spotted in the media before but luckily she just looks like a freakishly large wolf and has been shot at by hunters several times but to no avail (the bullet did knock her down but it couldn't do much more than superficial damage). Faith can often be seen with a black eye, busted lip, bruises and scrapes across her entire body from her nightly escapades. Her human form is nothing special- however, her wolf form, weighing 120 pounds and compromising mostly of vicious muscle, is white deadly. Most of her power comes from her more canine based bite, which is fairly damaging to other lycans and fairy tales alike.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krag_Jorgensen*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Brendan Kane

Appearance: A robustly built man, with piercing blue eyes, white skin, and no hair on his head. He wears the trench coat while actively participating in a hunt, but eschews it whenever possible. He prefers clothes more suited to the area of operations. His body is has an extensive amount of scarring from numerous close calls during his decade of service. Visible wounds include shrapnel scars on his right cheek from IED's in Afghanistan, a bite mark and prosthetic nose from a ghoul attack, Stitches on his neck from a werewolf claw that narrowly missed his jugular.

Age: 34

Height: 6' 4" or 193 cm

Weight: 251 lbs. or 114 kg

Occupation: Member of ESNA, 6th rank Hunter (Currently 3rd rank while on probation)

Species: Mundane Human

Bio:

He originally was an SAS soldier working in Afghanistan. The team he was part of was tasked with capturing and interrogating members of the insurgent command structure. He first piqued ESNA's interest in 2004, while scouting the mountains in the northern Helmand province. His squad stumbled onto the hideout of a blood cult, reawakened by the fires and insanity of the war. The exact details of the encounter are classified, but out of the four SAS operators, only Brendan survived. During the debriefing, he was approached by someone he assumed was a "spook". The man discussed what Brendan had seen and gave him an opportunity to join ESNA. Brendan figured that he probably wouldn't survive if he refused, so he said yes.

After 8 months of theoretical and on the job training, Brendan was accepted into the Hunter Branch. Fighting supernaturals often proved to be more difficult than fighting terrorists. The next nine years hardened his heart and scarred his body. Any idealism he once had was washed away in a steady stream of blood, sweat, tears, acidic venom, ectoplasm and a sundry of other unwholesome liquids produced by the supernaturals.

He has been known to stretch the first rule to the breaking point in order to follow the other three, taking a very lenient view on what constitutes an "innocent" and the exact meaning of "harm". His willingness to bend these rules and commit some of the same acts as those he hunts lead some to believe that (despite being an ordinary human) he is more of a "monster" than many of ESNA's supernaturals.

This mentality got him in trouble during a standoff with a faerie, the creature had nabbed a sleeping child to take it to its home and do whatever it is they do with children. The fanciful entity tried to bargain with the Hunters for the child's life but Brendan refused to back down, he disobeyed his commander and fired several rounds of Cold Iron. He killed both the child and monster, bringing the standoff to a gruesome end. Rather than have him executed, high command demoted him to a 3rd rank hunter for a probationary period of one year and transferred him to the deadliest assignment in the organization: Victoria.

It has been eleven months and twenty nine days since the 'incident' and in those months Brendan has attempted to earn at least a modicum of respect from fellow hunters. He is one of the few "mundanes" to join Victoria's unit (though it was mandatory), and one of the even fewer who looked like they might make it past the first year.

Name: Brant Mason

Appearance:
stock-photo-film-noir-retro-styled-fashion-portrait-of-a-detective-172540352.jpg

Age: 29

Height: 5'6

Weight: 180lbs/81.6kg (Both in pounds, and kilograms. simply find a conversion table)

Occupation: E.S.N.A Hunter Rank 3. Specialized in countering magic, magical creatures, and magical detection

Species: Esper. Possesses telepathy, a powerful "vision" that allows him to detect several forms of energy (kind of an aura sense), precognition (allows him to respond to threats a few seconds before they occur). His Esper abilities cause him to be sensitive to the other around him, causing headaches which can make him grouchy.

Bio: Brant works hard to condition his body with techniques and training so he may make the best of the short window he has. Annoying to some, Brant will respond to a person in conversation before or as they are saying something to him. If there is a mundane method for countering magic (or even using some rituals) Brant is likely to know them. Studying supernatural creatures extensively, Brant tries to be prepared for any potential threats. Other Espers would say Brant was fortunate in having manifesting such useful abilities, but he consideres them something of a pain in the ass. Because of these useful abilities, the E.S.N.A doesn't want to risk losing such a valuable specimen and keep him on low priority investigations and nudge him toward Internal Affairs. But Brant would lose his mind if he was stuck indoors with an office full of people and pushed hard to be a Hunter.

Reserving my spot, lol. Will post a CS sometime later today.

Full List of monsters coming soon.

Acheri

An Acheri is a spirit of ghost of a small child that moves downward from hill tops, and mountains. These ghosts are known to cause the deaths of those who are weak to disease, or illness. One must tie a Red ribbon around their neck as defense from this creature, and the only way to kill the creature is to wrap a Medicine Woman's red cloth around it's neck.

Arachne

Not much is known of these spider like creatures. Rare, and reclusive they tend to stay far from man kind. From time to time this large mix of human, and spider has been know to take travelers at night. Taking them back to their lairs to feed on slowly. It is believed to have been created by a pagan god whom cursed a young woman after a contest. They are strong, and nearly indestructible. Catching prey with strong webs they tend to lay eggs inside of some of their prey. The only known way to kill said creatures is to cut off the head. Tho beware as the offspring hold long grudges.

Basilisk

This snake is a tricky creature. The poison the creature spills from it's mouth is so toxic that it has no need to be injected. One simply has to touch the poison to be effected, and often death is instantaneous. When the foul creature's eyes meet a victim's their body freezes in place, and their soul leaves the body leaving it as stone. On top of these two fearsome weapons one must also fear the Basilisk's breath. It is so foul that anything is touches with tainted air is left withered, and decayed. Being the size of a man this snake it's size makes it difficult to fight. To kill the beast one would need the urine of a weasel, or the call of a rooster. One must take care as the whispers of the Basilisk will drive one mad.

Banshee

These fabled pale creatures are known to have a family of it's own. Considered peaceful until the family is no more it is no threat. However once said creature no longer has purpose it may become feral if trapped in this world. When this happens it seems to take to moving on all fours. With blinding speed, and claw like fingers a Banshee must never be taken lightly. Their scream is a fearsome weapon as it has the ability to kill. They are weak to iron, and can be put to rest by burning the remains of their mortal body.

Crocotta

This dog like creature was first known to be in India. They are known to mimic voices, and sounds. Which they use to lure prey away from their homes so that it may devour their souls. They are strong like bulls, and fast like horses. Normal weapons have no effect on the creature, and will do prey little good. It is said once it has looked at any animal three times they will be rooted in spot, and become an easy meal for the beast. Crocotta have little weaknesses except a blade through the back of the neck. One may kill it with this blow, but must take extreme caution. As of late they are said to be capable of changing form.

Demon * (multiple variances)

These twisted souls of the damned rarely escape their prison, and make it into our world. On the off chance that it has happened they tend to attempt to seduce the souls of mortals. Most being bent on placing the living in hell are a major threat. Demons may be countered through ancient symbols that bind them, or strip them of their power. Salt, holds power over them as it will make them weak. To remove a demon one must send it back to the pit of fire through an exorcism. Tho rare they can be summoned, and even controlled.

Espers *

Due to what is believed to be a mutation these psychic enabled humans are a sought after commodity. They have a range of abilities that are not based from magical roots. It is recommended for members of ESNA to attempt to recruit these gifted few into our ranks. However if they use their gifts for darker purposes we will have to act as we always have.

Ghoul *

This undead creature has the ability to change it's form as it feeds. It's main food source is dead flesh of humans, but is known to take the living at times. Other then super human endurance they have no overwhelming characteristics. One must remove the head, or crush the head to kill it.

Lycanthrope * (multiple variances)
These poor souls are result to a witch's,or demon's curse. In the case of a witch's curse the person will turn into an animal. In the case of a demon's curse they will become a twisted form of an animal that is more beast then man. Every full moon they under go a change that results in the form of a beast. Fearsome, and quick they enjoy the hunt. Tho still man, they develop pack mentality, and will tend to hunt in groups when it occurs. It was believed that all types of Lycanthrope were the same with little regard, however our resident agent Asura has lead to a new understanding. They mostly come in three different types.

Common- Taking on the form of an beast with every full moon they are unable to remember their transformation, and will often believe it to be a bad dream. They are must be put down for their own good. Tho rare some are able to learn how to control their changes, and tend to tame the beast living out a natural life given time.

White/Silver- The odds are one in every ten thousand turned become a White Lycanthrope. The call of the beast is strong in their blood, and few are able to resist it. Often resulting in the poor soul becoming stuck after their first change. Silver does little over any other type of weapon to one, and results in them being much harder to kill. Being not only stronger, but faster then their counter parts they tend to even hunt their own. These creatures are beings of pure rage, and have lost most sense of humanity.

Blood/Red- These beasts are formed from the bite of a White/Silver Lycanthrope. They tend to be unpredictable in their transformations as it is based solely on their emotions. Their bites are known to turn every victim if said person is not killed by the mauling. They are also better adapted for combat as their claws are made of the finger bones itself, and not the claw as in the common breed. Faster, and more in touch with a cunning mind they are formidable to say the least. However due to the frequency of transformations they learn how to control themselves, and can even maintain their human mind after transformation. Silver is known to be twice as effective on them, and even acts as a poison.

All Lycanthropes are seen as slaves to their emotions, and are a danger to those around them. If one is thought to be a Lycanthrope Wolvesbane may be used to keep it from transforming, and thus subdue it. Sliver being pure should be used to kill them, and remove the beast from the soul. Hallowed ground will keep them from transforming, but will not cause them to revert. One should kill the Lycanthrope before it transforms as they have the ability to regenerate during their changed state.

Nekomata *

The Nekomata is a large cat that was commonly found in Japan. Said to hunt, and kill humans. It lived in the mountains, and is believed to have supernatural abilities. Which include causing haunting related activities as ghosts do, and the ability at times to shapeshift. These creatures are said to evolve from the common house cat as it grows old. The treatment of said cat greatly affect the nature of the Nekomata. They are said to grow two tails as they age, and at this point have moved on to the demon cat of Japan. They have recently been sighted in different parts of the world, and may be put down as one would any large game.

Reaper

Upon creation the reaper was a purely neutral being. their only purpose is to guide the souls of the departed to it's resting place. There is no way to kill a reaper. The only time they are a threat is if they are being controlled by a talisman.

Vampire * (multiple variances)

Vampires are fearsome in their own right. Having super strength, and being virtually immortal they are near impossible to destroy. Known to have differing abilities based solely on those turned it is hard to say what you could be facing. From telepathy, shape shifting, elementalkinesis, mist shifting, to power over a victim's mind they each have one of the extra abilities. Tho many types of vampire exist they have been compressed into two groups.

Blood drainers- Those who feed on blood, and gain power from the life they steal. They are known to be powerful, and seductive. They come in many forms, and are all dangerous.

Energy drainers- Those who feed on the extra life energy of others. Tho less known this type of vampire is far more subtle then it's counterpart. Not only do some have the ability to feed on large groups of people, but is also much harder to pin point. Yet more still have the gift of magic in their undead existence.

All vampire suffer from two great weaknesses. Flowing water, and decapitation. Sun light does little more then hurt their eyes due to their heightened senses. Flowing water tho able to weaken a vampire can only do so if the whole body is submerged. Thus resulting in temporarily slaying the creature. One must then cut off the head, and it is recommended that one also burns the corpse. Jerusalem Thorns may be used as bindings for vampires as the thorns will release a vampires stored blood, or energy. Resulting in a weakened state.

Wendigo

The Wendigo is the most feared of creatures. One must never go looking for it alone, and if one is requested to do so only with a large group. Tho sighting of the true Wendigo have seemingly stopped we must still worry about the lesser forms it left. They are formed when one turns to cannibalism in hopes of hard time for survival. This act destroys their humanity, and allows the spirit of the Wendigo to take root. It's habitat is vast, and covers the Great Lakes, and much of Canada. Should you happen to face one retreat, and escape are your best options.

ABILITIES- Large size, Super strength, super speed, unending endurance, regeneration, and super senses. Some evidence suggests it is linked with it's environment, and knows the location of prey at all times. It mimics the sounds of victims (often cries for help) to lure prey to it. The Wendigo is also a master of stealth often stalking for hours before beginning it's slow game of torture.

Appearance- Ranging from 8-15 feet in size the Wendigo has long limbs, and is skeletal, with ashy-gray skin. They are bald, and have deep set yellow eyes that seem to glow. At the ends of their hands, their fingers form into foot long claws that are made for cutting through bone, and flesh with ease. Their teeth are numerous, and are needle sharp.

DIET- They are never full. Their hunger is never ending, and what they have a taste for among anything else is human flesh. They will hunt large game if their preferred food is unavailable. However it takes great pleasure in hording it's prey so that it may feed when ever it wishes.

Weaknesses- Silver, and fire are known to hurt the beast. Magical charms are known to repeal the Windigo, but only for a time. Wounds caused by silver take longer to heal, and fire cause grievous wounds. However fire only angers the creature, and causes no real damage save causing it to bide it's time. These creatures are amazingly cunning, and if it feels the need may even set traps to disarm, or disable it's prey.

Sleeping for years on end often upwards of decades. Wendigo rarely are a large threat for long. However there is a known way to kill the beast. One must pierce the heart with a silver blade, dismember the body, and burn all the remains to ash. If one fails to do this the Wendigo is sure to return to life, and will stop at nothing to enact revenge on those whom tried to kill it.

Werebear

Tho a type of Lycanthrope the werebear is too unstable, and unpredictable to allow to live. Having strength that rivals that of the vampire, and the speed of it's kind they are feared more for their ferocity. The beast inside with it's hypnotizing power and blood lust seduces even the most pure of heart. They tend to only go through a few transformations before becoming stuck. At which point there is no hope of saving the soul. They are most active at night, and will even enter cities in search of food. A werebear is also a formidable hunter, and has little to fear due to it's size. ESNA has gone to great lengths to remove this beast from the Earth, and believe it to be extinct.

Witches * (multiple variances)

Tho different types of witch exist it is commonly known for them to have made a deal with a demon for their power. This being the case the witch is sometimes asked to preform an act of unspeakable sin including murder (often of the family), incest, or necrophilia. After said act they are given mastery over the world around them. One must be careful as the witch uses curses, spells, and can enslave others to their wills. Elemental magic is commonly a blood line trait, and should be feared. To kill a witch any means may be used. We recommend removing the head so that their knowledge is not passed if they were returned to life.

Custom (Will take user created)

Speculum formam

Name meaning Mirror form. This creature lurks in the world between our own, and the spirit realm. Though at one time they were never a threat their hunting grounds grew as humans made use of reflective surfaces. Rarely will they enter the light, and often avoid large groups of people. However once illumination has been removed they begin their hunt. Once these foul beasts locate a target they will attempt a sadistic game. Often starting with misplaced objects, looming over sleeping victims, making unseen noises, or even watching from something as simple as a mirror.

As their hunger grows they become more powerful. Stalking their prey during the day light hours. Letting themselves be seen only at times by their victims Mirror forms will attempt to drive their prey mad. Drawing ever closer to the poor sap who met it's gaze. Once it has finished it's game the Mirror form will take it's victim by dragging them through a reflective surface, and feeding on their souls. All that is left behind at this point is an empty husk that will slowly become a Mirror form itself.

There are ways to kill the beast. One could allow it to enter our world through any reflective surface, and destroy it's portal before it returns. In early stages light will destroy the creature, but must be done shortly after the hunt begins, or it will grow too strong for such an easy method. Silver being pure can be used to hurt the beast. Rust being a way nature keeps them from entering through metal will send them back to their world, and cause the hunt to end.

Tunneler

Tunnelers were once humans, but a mixture of prolonged exposure to low intensity magic and years of living underground have changed them. Their new features are gaunt and emaciated with large eyes and pale, almost translucent skin. Their fingers have changed into badger-like claws capable of rapidly digging through most unconsolidated sediment, and some types of rock. Their claws are also capable of easily cutting through flesh. They walk with a shuffling gait and very few remember how to talk. At night, they emerge from their burrows to hunt for food. The creatures are predators, preferring fresh meat. Their most dangerous attribute is their acute sense of hearing, which they use to sense prey through the earth. Tunnelers can sense a human sized target up to 20 meters away and often try to dig under their prey to catch them unaware.

Tunnelers share all the same weaknesses that humans do, stabbing, bludgeoning, slashing and bullets are all effective at dealing with these creatures. Their eyes and ears are very sensitive, 65 Lumens (the brightness of a tactical flashlight) is enough to blind them for a few seconds. Using firearms against tunnelers is a double edged sword, however. The sound and muzzle flash from a pistol is usually enough to send it running, even if the bullet didn't connect. On the other hand, using guns are often problematic because tunnelers are usually encountered in very confined areas. This makes it difficult to maneuver weapons larger than an average handgun and the sounds often reverberate, which can cause severe hearing damage to humans and Tunnelers alike.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about my character if need be. :3

Name
: He goes by Nash Devonshire, but his true name is Radimir.

Will have a CS for a human character sometime later.

Just in case, the IC is up; link is in the OP.

Bio: -

Alright. Posted in the IC.

Here's Miles, as promised whenever I promised to put up my human CS. Hehe.

Quick clarification: "somnus" is singular, "somni" is plural. >w> It's Latin.

I meant it as a reference to him being a member of the race, not as an individual. If it's bothersome, I'll change it.

Went ahead and changed it. ^^

Just lettin' you guys know I'll be busy tonight and that I'll be gettin' a post up tomorrow morning. (after a dentist appointment) Sorry for holdin' ya up ^^

Character sheets organized, and Partial bestiary up.

This is all looking really good. I just have one request: do you think we could, ah, tone down the length of the posts, just a little? Having veritable novels to read before I can post gets a little tiring sometimes...

Thanks bunches. .w.

I'll be able too once the group split up. which May be next post.

If anyone has any creatures they want me to add to our bestiary let me know. Tho it would help to provide a link of research with it.

I'll shoot you some ideas, later. Right now...sorry, guys, for not posting; but I've been dealing with some stuff and it might take me until tomorrow afternoon to get a post up for Lan and Miles. Again, sorry. I'll get to it as soon as things settle down.
