Backstory

In the year 1995 the very foundations of Earth were shaken by the closest supernova to Earth ever recorded. For days power went down in various cities and panic began to spread. Within the week, Earth was returned to normal. No one could know what an extreme event had just unfolded save for a select few. Peace was returned to Earth. In the next 2 years many children were found abandoned in seemingly random places, in various parts of the world. Oddly enough, all of them ended up in America in one way or another in the next eighteen years. This is where our story begins, 20 years after the supernova that shook the Earth.


Everything is alive, just with varying degrees of intelligence.

Whether you believe this to be true or not, it is. Not just the rocks and plants and such, but other things as well. Whole galaxies are alive, literally. Each galaxy, molecular cloud, star, black hole, planet, moon, and asteroid has a sort of ambassador. These ambassadors are the human representation of their counterpart and share a bond, or connection, with their planet/moon/star/galaxy/etc. that grants them powers beyond what the ordinary human can do. Although powerful, the bonds can be exceeded and result in the death of an ambassador. The planet counterpart is not destroyed, but will grieve at the loss of their ambassador. Although the ambassadors cannot speak to their counterpart, they can read each others emotions and wants. The extent of an ambassadors power depends on their distance from one another and the size of the given counterpart. For example Earth would be powerful because she is touching the surface of her planet, while Pluto would be weaker. Although sun would be far away from their counterpart one must also take into account the energy and size of the sun, which would thereby make them powerful as well.

The Conflict

A large group of astronomers and scientist have discovered the ambassadors and greatly desire to research them. A few of the weaker ambassadors grew angry at the obvious hierarchy that quickly developed based upon powers and ambassador connections. Seeking to even the scales they teamed with the scientists and have found a way too transfer powers from one ambassador to another, but at the cost of the other ambassadors life. Because the ambassador is so closely linked to their powers, the instant they are taken so is the life force of an ambassador.

The Rules

1. There will be no God modding.

2. Powers must be reasonable.

3. Follow all basic rules of Iwaku.

4. A bout of inactivity will result in expulsion from the roleplay.

Activity Rules:

1. Do not be inactive for more than 5 days without prior notice.
If something is going on rl just let me know and I'll gladly hold your spot and not complain about your inactivity. After five days your character will become a tag along, meaning you may return to them within 10 days. If not, I reserve the right to incapacitate them.

2. If you disappear twice for more than five days without notice I reserve the right to kill your character off.

3. If you disappear for more than 2 weeks I reserve the right to kill your character off.

Look guys I understand if something comes up, just let me know beforehand ok? That way we can arrange a way for your character to leave the roleplay so that they may return later on if you so wish.

Name: Alexandria Marrows

Age: 19

Counterpart: Earth

Backstory: Alexandria was found at an estimated age of three. Her parents found her in the Australian outback, wandering aimlessly with no direction. She didn't seem injured in any way, quite the opposite actually. She was a healthy and happy child growing up and had a deep connection with animals and her parents never thought anything of it until the incident. Alexandria fell out of a tree when she was in fifth grade and busted her head wide open. Her parents were no where around, leaving Alexandria seriously injured and alone. Sensing Alexandria's flickering life force Earth panicked. She sent out distress calls to all of the nearby animals, one of whom happened to be a large bear. Carefully the bear had picked Alexandria up and taken her home on his back. Her parents had been frightened at first by the sight of the bear, but knowing the grave danger their daughter was in they approached the bear and took her off of his back. Immediately the bear lost interest and left the home to return to the forest. After that Alexandria's parents were never surprised when funny things happened around their daughter. They quickly learned to accept all of her abnormalities and it even became routine for them.

Personality: Caring yet easily angered. She has a bipolar disorder that causes her to snap at times. You can tell when she is close to the edge when her lips begin to quiver.

Powers: Being in direct contact with her planet Alexandria has a few unusual powers.
Guidance: if mother Earth senses that Alexandria is in great need, perhaps even in danger, small gusts of wind and leaves will guide her on her path.
Weather Manipulation: Alexandria has not properly learned to control this power so the weather is often manipulated by her mood. As of yet she hasn't caused any major catastrophes besides one itty bitty little earthquake.
Healing: The mud and leaves of the Earth offer up any life force they may contain and stitch Alexandria's skin back together through direct contact.

Appearance: Slaine is a modest 5 feet and 11 inches, he has the striking look of a snowy, pale complexion. His hair is much the same color, albeit messy and framing his narrow face. His eyes are perhaps, the most striking thing about him other than his obvious skin tone deficiency. His eyes are a remarkable red at first glance, but often will change color dependent on his mood. He is well dressed most of the time, garbed in mostly black attire that is reminiscent of the early 19th century fashion.

Personality: Slaine is polite, kind and considerate. He's incredibly creative, having mastered several instruments including the piano, cello and violin. He's played in orchestras and even solo concerts. When push comes to shove, he does have a temper but, as of yet, refuses to use his power to hurt anyone. However, that doesn't stop him from helping catch the occasional criminal or go to an orphanage and do "magic tricks". Having been an orphan himself, he finds great joy and humility in it.

Name: Calandra Ellendrion
Age: 19
Counterpart|Constellation: Lyra, The Harp

Appearance: Calandra is about 5"5' with a generally small frame for her height. Her eyes are a striking icy blue that are flecked with gold, and her hair that reaches her mid-thigh falls with the same colors as her eyes; her complexion glows constantly as it reflects Vega, the brightest star of Lyra. Aside from her designer performance dresses, she prefers to wear relatively conservative and comfortable clothing while still staying with the current fashion trends; however, her clothes tend to crystallize in weird formations without her being able to control much of it.

Backstory: Calandra was abandoned as a young child outside the doorstep of a Catholic church in England, without a note or clue to her name. The nuns took her in, giving her the name Calandra as her small cries sounded like the skylarks' chirps, and her last name stems from a female saint. As she grew older, her talent for playing music grew exponentially, as it drew in crowds of people into the church nearly every time she played. Church-goers began to speak of her as being blessed by angels for being as bright as she was. Yet, she was too radiant for parents--every time potential adoptees came by, they ended up feeling as if she couldn't be contained or that she she was too bright for them to handle. By the time she was 16, she was sent abroad to play for other churches and separate religious events to bring in audiences and new potential worshipers. Now she resides in America of her own free will, yet still part of her is dedicated to the church that raised her.

Personality: Even though she was raised in a Catholic church, Calandra isn't devoutly religious and actually did self-study in libraries and universities around England--making her rather cultured and quite intelligent. Despite her angelic appearance, she is relatively free-spirited and an independent thinker; which makes Calandra quite stubborn and eager to explore the life she could have had outside of the church.

Powers: Calandra can summon/control harp strings to obey her command (giving them shape/life). While playing a lyre or harp, her music tends to sway the emotions of the living things around her. Calandra heals through crystallizing her wounds or by playing her harp.

Name: Eloise Gladys
Age: Nineteen
Counterpart: Mars

Appearance: Eloise stands at around 5'1 with a small yet muscular body build. She has black hair that falls down to the middle of her back. Her skin is a light brown with little blemishes. She has eyes the color of a burning fire. Eloise stands with confidence and absolute sureness. She tends to wear black or red clothing and keeps her hair pulled up at all times.

Back Story: Eloise was found in the middle of a war. Guns and grenades were going off but none of it seemed to touch the toddler. An American soldier found her and took her in. When he was sent back home, he was given permisson to care for her. Eventually after a few months, he and his wife were able to adopt Eloise. She grew up happy, and well disciplined too. Her father taught her all sortd of tricks when she was younger, such as how to shoot a gun and how to throw punches. Eloise soon grew really interested in war and fighting. She would watch documentaries, movies, and even read books about it. She taught herself how do so many things as well. Her adoptive parents only thought she would grow out of liking war. They were wrong. As she grew older, she took several classes on how to fight. She took a self defense class, a boxing class, and a karate class.

When she grew to the age of eight, something bad happened. Eloise had gotten mad at a friend of hers one day in her parents front yard. And before she knew it, sharp pieces of metal floated into the air. The tips pointed directly at her friend. Luckily, her parents stopped her in time. They took her inside and kept her away from any local kids. They knew their daughter wasn't normal, especially since they had just witnessed their daughter controlling metal. So, they kept her isolated while still attempting to help her control her powers, which only made Eloise grow angry with her parents. She resented her parents for that. So when she turned seventeen, she ran.


Personality: Eloise takes after the Roman god her counterpart was named after. She is brave, stubborn, easily angered, and over confident in her abilities. She enjoys war and anything to do with fighting and she will not hesitate to kick your ass. She is reckless and often impulsive - not like the god Mars. She acts purely on instinct and not what her mind tells her to. She is a fighter down to the core. She is a smart ass as well.

Power: Metal Manipulation- Eloise can create, shape, and manipulate metal. Eloise often uses this power to create her own weapons from thin air. The metal she can control more easily than the rest is iron, as her counterpart planet Mars is filled with iron. She can heal any wounds by liquifying iron and pouring it over her wound. This process takes time.

Appearance:
Johnny stands at 5'8'' and has a rather lean and pale body with an unusually low blood heat. His hair is more or less one of the darkest things on earth while his most eye-catching feature is most likely his deep blue and icy cold eyes. As for clothing, the young man doesn't really bother with anything fancy. A pair of simple jeans and a T-shirt usually covered by a hoodie is pretty much what he wears almost all of the time.

Backstory:
Johnny was found as a mere infant beside a lake on the countryside. The boy was taken into foster care but it didn't take long for him to get adopted. Babies usually tend to have a higher demand and as a such thing, Jonathan was picked up by a young couple who, despite their efforts, hadn't gotten a child of their own. The couple had no luck at getting a biological child after the adoption either but they were quite content with little Jonathan and he ended up being their only child. There isn't really much to say about Johnny's childhood, it was more or less what people call "normal". Up to a certain point, that is.

When he was nine years old, the boy got quite upset after getting an F from a math test and as he was clutching the damned piece of paper, it started freezing slowly. The event was quite the shocking kind, for Johnny and the rest of the classroom. No one had an explanation for what happened and people started avoiding the family of three while the small boy was regarded as a freak among his peers. Needless to say, a change of scenery was in place. After the family moved, Jonathan managed to avoid freezing anything when he had an audience and the boy and his parents eventually got accustomed to the fact that he was something different.

Personality:
Carefree, naive and stupid. Those are the three adjectives most people would use to describe Jonathan. He's quite the happy-go-lucky type and doesn't seem to worry about anything. He just goes with the flow and tends to live in the present as he cannot the change the past or predict the future. The young male is also a bit too trusting when it comes to other people. He doesn't usually think to question people or doubt their words unless the person is really fishy. It's sheer luck no stranger decided to offer him candy when he was a kid. Also, truth be told, Johnny isn't the sharpest tool in the box either.

Powers:
Freezing objects, living or not, upon touching them. However, the effect doesn't spread far from the spot he is touching and he is only able to fully freeze small objects such as a tennis ball. He can also slightly lower the temperature of the air surrounding him but this almost always done unconsciously when he's upset or angry.
He can heal by creating a layer of ice over the wound. The ice will eventually melt away as the wound heals and leaves no frostbite as it usually would.

Standing at about five feet and three inches, she's rather petite, and her eyes tend to change hue depending on her mood, although not drastically. This spectrum can range from navy blue to crystalline aquamarine.

Backstory: Lived a rather normal life, with normal parents who nurtured her and loved her. For a few years she lived near the impact zone of the supernova, and so she slowly began to develop her abilities. Although she often combusted in a spontaneous matter, she could miraculously pass it off as the result of high blood pressure. Her tale is not a sob story designed to make you pity her. Her tale is simply the life of a child, with a few minor tweaks.

Personality: A naive girl who cannot find any malice in the world or it's denizens. Such is her flaw, for all is not perfect.
She was raised in a happy environment, and as a result is overly rapturous and bubbly, much to the annoyance of those around her. She takes difficulty in acknowledging the seriousness of some situations, and passes them off as trivial and a simple speed bump. Overly optimistic. Evaluating and making decisions are not her forte, as she finds it difficult to make a choice between one thing or the other. Is not versatile, and changes frighten her.

Powers: Pyrokinesis (flame manipulation and creation) as well as incredibly speed. Very limber and lithe.

Backstory:
Caelian was found on the doorstep of a older couple who could not have children of their own at the age estimated age of 2 years old. The couple found it odd that she showed up on their doorstep so healthy. As she grew her parents noticed that she loved the cold and tended to run out in the dead of winter in no jacket and seemed to be perfectly at home in the below freezing temperatures. Her parents frightened that she would catch pneumonia would always try to wrangle winter jackets on the young girl who would take the jacket off as soon as she went out side. Caelian was about 9 years old when her first heat stroke happened, her parents found her in the shade of a tree with ice enveloping her which frightened her family immensely but then began to piece together that their daughter was a special girl who could not handle heat anywhere near her.
Personality:
Caelian is a happy go lucky carefree young woman of 19. She is kind and caring but can snap when her body gets to hot for her comfort and becomes crabby. She developed anxiety of going outside especially in the summer where she feels the most vulnerable.
Powers:
Ice Manipulation: She can form ice out of water in the air and from the ground to help her regulate her body temperature or form it as a weapon for protection
Cold Endurance: She can with stand the coldesttemperatures and not be harmed by them.
Appearance: He's handsome in a scruffy kind of way, his fair features often graced by a warm smile. He has a tallish, lanky build that belies the athleticism of an experienced parkour. His hair is brown fading to bright orange at the tips, matching his bright orange eyes. Though his hair usually hides it, his left ear is scarred, looking as if a large animal clawed it.

Lucky is usually found wearing a weathered, brown jacket over a green shirt with brown cargo pants and brown-and-green sneakers, matching his brown-and-green, fingerless gloves. He decorates this ensemble with a variety of knick-knacks ranging from a scorpion stinger earring on his right ear to a steel bracer on his left arm and a necklace strung with runestones. He is almost never seen without his staff: A five-foot length of sturdy, weathered wood with a curved tip like a question mark or a hook.

Name:Lucien "Lucky" Charlemagne

Age: 18

Counterpart: Jupiter

Backstory: Lucien Charlemagne was born in a small village in France – the kind where everybody knows everybody else and the classes in school consist of maybe ten kids each. Blessed or cursed (depending on who you ask) with an inherent wanderlust, he spent his youth exploring the village and surrounding forest and countryside, climbing trees, jumping across rooftops and generally getting into trouble. Nobody took him very seriously when, at twelve years old, he declared he would set out to explore the world. They were therefore shocked when, two years later, he packed up his bags, said a few goodbyes and left.

The following four years were filled with strangeness. He travelled across half of Europe, mostly on his own feet and the occasional train, continuing on as he had for all his life: Exploring, climbing, jumping and getting into trouble. He learned a number of languages and all kinds of useful (and not-so-useful) skills, from combat to survival to massage to macramé. Now fate (and curiosity) has brought him to North America, eager to tour a new continent and see what life has in store for him now.

Personality: Lucky is at heart a cheerful, optimistic young man who tries to see the best in everyone. He's not naïve – not anymore, at least – and knows that he'll probably be disappointed, but believes it's always worth trying. He has a natural curiosity and intense wanderlust, making it difficult to settle down for very long. While his attention span isn't exactly short, he does get distracted easily by anything from interesting sights and sounds to random thoughts that lead him off on a tangent.

He laughs freely, makes friends easily and isgenerally hard to bring down. Though he does have common sense it's often drowned out by excitement at the prospect of learning something new, seeing something cool or just getting to run and jump around a lot.

Powers: Gravity - He can manipulate gravity in areas around him, increasing or decreasing its effects on an object and even forming powerful, artificial orbits in a localized space, though these effects usually last only as long as he maintains them. He can also heal himself by focusing on the gravitic pull of a sufficiently massive object with which he is incontact; the planet is more than sufficient for this.

Hmm, seems interesting. So you say you have some powers picked out for some connections, do you have any picked out for constellations? Because if you have or have not I'd love to reserve constellations~​
 
I do not, but you can most certainly run some ideas by me! Pick a constellation (any that you'd like) and feel free to fill out a character sheet! If you have powers you want just go ahead and post them with the sheet. I'll only say no if I've got valid reason to do so. (Which isn't often!)

Backstory| Kastia was found two years after the solar flare. She was found by a family, in a basket on their doorstep. They family took her in and helped her grow thanking god everyday for the blessing of a child. They taught Kastia to grow up and be nice to other people and to believe in god.
Personality: Happy - Sweet - Nice - Gullible
Powers| Ability to multiply objects, and herself. If the Gemini symbol is in the sky she can double larger things. (This can get op so limit to only doubling things? And she can't double things she's already doubled? If you get what I mean? :bouncy:)​

I'm interested, but I just wanted to know if I could play two characters or if we're limited to one CS per person.
 
Limit two characters per person unless you'd like to create a villain type character. Because the villains aren't always active you may create two main characters and one villain to be implemented at intervals.
 
@Dramma all of the children were found abandoned with no parents to speak of until they were adopted. I may not have been very clear about that, sorry. It will play largely into the plot later.

Despite her angelic appearance, she is relatively free-spirited and an independent thinker; which makes Calandra quite stubborn and eager to explore the life she could have had outside of the church.

Powers: Calandra can summon/control harp strings to obey her command (giving them shape/life). While playing a lyre or harp, her music tends to sway the emotions of the living things around her. Calandra heals through crystallizing her wounds or by playing her harp.​

Name: Thane Rainier
Age: 20
Counterpart/ Moon: Phobos


Appearance: Thane is about 6"1', with a medium/muscular build and covered in plenty of tattoos and some piercings. While his hair is a standard dark black, his eyes are a deep crimson and can change to strike fear in the hearts of whoever he wants to tremble in his presence. His appearance seems to be naturally intimidating and makes people feel anguished when they are around him. Thane tends to wear dark clothing that is usually comfortable, but tight to the body as he is a killer and leaves nothing of his own existence behind.

Backstory: As a young boy, Thane was found by a U.S soldier on patrol; simply walking through the battlefield during the Nepalese Civil War between Nepal and China, in front of a massacre and burning homes, not crying for the loss of people, nor scared about the death and blood that surrounded him. As the conflict declined, Thane's strength weakened, almost growing ill. So his military caretaker sent him to America, and there he found a new life--albeit it was a violent one. He escaped his foster homes and made his way up the chain of gangs in Chicago as a teen. Soon growing bored of the easy kills that were just offered up to him, he was approached by the PMC to become a private assassin for their company on U.S soil. Whether they were working for good or for evil; it never mattered as long as he got to do what he enjoyed.

Personality: While devious and selfish, Thane is quite lonely; he strives for an interaction where people don't fear him all the time. However, he prefers to remain solitary in his work since his temper flares up easily, his mischievous personality lends him simple ways to kill/entrap people in whatever way he feels like.

Powers: Without much effort, he can strike fear into the hearts of many. Yet he may only temporarily paralyze a person if they look straight into his eyes or if he impales them with enough feathers from his hidden wings. Like the moon he represents, he can move at an extremely fast rate--to appear as barely a blur to the human eye. He heals over a time by touching and absorbing shadows.

Yay! More people :) you guys make me super happy! Thank you for joining! The Sun and moon will also become unavailable characters though, because I have a plot twist in mind that requires me to play them.
 
Is my character acceptable? I didn't write a bio; I wanted to see if you perhaps wanted me to add something to it as Galaxies are massive and contain numerous planets, stars/suns, etc-- so I didn't want to go to far into describing him.
 
You'll need to pick a particular galaxy, I'm not too worried about specifics planets and such within the galaxy.
 
Could you all give the way that your particular character can heal? I also really need some planets.

If you'd like, I can make a third CS for a planet, since Thane/Phobos is pretty much a villain. And how limited does our healing have to be?
 
It needs to be in some way related to your counterpart. I'll be posting my character sheets so maybe that will help a bit.

Name: Eloise Gladys
Age: Nineteen

Counterpart: Mars

Appearance: Eloise stands at around 5'1 with a small yet muscular body build. She has black hair that falls down to the middle of her back. Her skin is a light brown with little blemishes. She has eyes the color of a burning fire. Eloise stands with confidence and absolute sureness. She tends to wear black or red clothing and keeps her hair pulled up at all times.

Back Story: Eloise was found in the middle of a war. Guns and grenades were going off but none of it seemed to touch the toddler. An American soldier found her and took her in. When he was sent back home, he was given permisson to care for her. Eventually after a few months, he and his wife were able to adopt Eloise. She grew up happy, and well disciplined too. Her father taught her all sortd of tricks when she was younger, such as how to shoot a gun and how to throw punches. Eloise soon grew really interested in war and fighting. She would watch documentaries, movies, and even read books about it. She taught herself how do so many things as well. Her adoptive parents only thought she would grow out of liking war. They were wrong. As she grew older, she took several classes on how to fight. She took a self defense class, a boxing class, and a karate class.


When she grew to the age of eight, something bad happened. Eloise had gotten mad at a friend of hers one day in her parents front yard. And before she knew it, sharp pieces of metal floated into the air. The tips pointed directly at her friend. Luckily, her parents stopped her in time. They took her inside and kept her away from any local kids. They knew their daughter wasn't normal, especially since they had just witnessed their daughter controlling metal. So, they kept her isolated while still attempting to help her control her powers, which only made Eloise grow angry with her parents. She resented her parents for that. So when she turned seventeen, she ran.


Personality: Eloise takes after the Roman god her counterpart was named after. She is brave, stubborn, easily angered, and over confident in her abilities. She enjoys war and anything to do with fighting and she will not hesitate to kick your ass. She is reckless and often impulsive - not like the god Mars. She acts purely on instinct and not what her mind tells her to. She is a fighter down to the core. She is a smart ass as well.

Power: Metal Manipulation- Eloise can create, shape, and manipulate metal. Eloise often uses this power to create her own weapons from thin air. The metal she can control more easily than the rest is iron, as her counterpart planet Mars is filled with iron. She can heal any wounds by liquifying iron and pouring it over her wound. This process takes time.

Name: Alexandria Marrows

Age: 19

Counterpart: Earth

Backstory: Alexandria was found at an estimated age of three. Her parents found her in the Australian outback, wandering aimlessly with no direction. She didn't seem injured in any way, quite the opposite actually. She was a healthy and happy child growing up and had a deep connection with animals and her parents never thought anything of it until the incident. Alexandria fell out of a tree when she was in fifth grade and busted her head wide open. Her parents were no where around, leaving Alexandria seriously injured and alone. Sensing Alexandria's flickering life force Earth panicked. She sent out distress calls to all of the nearby animals, one of whom happened to be a large bear. Carefully the bear had picked Alexandria up and taken her home on his back. Her parents had been frightened at first by the sight of the bear, but knowing the grave danger their daughter was in they approached the bear and took her off of his back. Immediately the bear lost interest and left the home to return to the forest. After that Alexandria's parents were never surprised when funny things happened around their daughter. They quickly learned to accept all of her abnormalities and it even became routine for them.

Personality: Caring yet easily angered. She has a bipolar disorder that causes her to snap at times. You can tell when she is close to the edge when her lips begin to quiver.

Powers: Being in direct contact with her planet Alexandria has a few unusual powers.
Guidance: if mother Earth senses that Alexandria is in great need, perhaps even in danger, small gusts of wind and leaves will guide her on her path.
Weather Manipulation: Alexandria has not properly learned to control this power so the weather is often manipulated by her mood. As of yet she hasn't caused any major catastrophes besides one itty bitty little earthquake.
Healing: The mud and leaves of the Earth offer up any life force they may contain and stitch Alexandria's skin back together through direct contact.
