::PLOT OVERVIEW::
Capax (kay-pax) is a small, close knit coastal town, population 13,944. Located in the north east and away from most tourist traps, the town gets little attention, and that's how the citizens like it. Nothing interesting ever happens there, either. Occasionally there are celebrations--the Fourth of July celebrations, the Capax Public High School end of the year parties--but Capax is largely a sleepy little town with little excitement.
This story focuses on a group of interconnected teenagers living in Capax. Each of them begin to notice strange things happening around them in the town; strange things that others don't seem to see. Some are determined to figure out the source of it. Others are bent on minding their own business and living their lives. But the collision is imminent.
The world is composed of an infinite number of universes, all running parallel to one another. Some are vastly different, while others are scarily similar. Each has it's own timeline, and continues on forever, even after the death of mankind. And, as a rule, they will never collide. They will never touch. If time could be viewed as a line, these timelines would be exactly that; eternal, parallel, lines.
But the laws have been broken, and the universes are beginning to collide and merge into one another. The signs began slowly--missing people, crazy weather, extinct animals reappearing--and grew bigger with time. But the people of this universe and timeline know little about the science behind time and the universe. They simply think that their world is dying, that mental illness is rampant. And, as such, the destruction of existence as we know it is inevitable. Unless a ragtag group of teenagers can manage to fix it. We'll see about that.
::GAME MECHANICS::
Every main character will fit a character archetype (archetypes listed below). These archetypes are vague backgrounds for the characters. Their use will appear in the IC through the use of GM posts. GM posts will come both via IC and via PM. For example, the player of archetype #2 may receive a PM concerning a memory their character has remembered that has plot relevance.
Players are expected to participate in plot planning (and will be rewarded for cooperation with others in the group and for sharing their ideas, as well as activity) and will also be expected to play multiple characters. This can include side characters as well as NPCs (family, friends, acquaintances) from time to time. Some players may eventually be given the ability to play plot specific characters. For now, I will play a few plot specific characters, one main character of my own, and side characters.
The story will take place over several chapters that mark the progression of Capax and the colliding universes. We will follow a day/night cycle marked by GM posts (though we may skip some days for timeskips if needed) and GM events will be posted to keep things moving. These events can be character specific or worldwide.

{slide=Rules|center}Please read these thoroughly before joining. If you have any questions please ask!
1. All Iwaku rules apply.
2. Be able to post 2-3 paragraphs (grammar and spelling checked) at least once a week. After two weeks, you will receive a warning. After two warnings you will be removed from the roleplay. Please talk to me if you will have trouble with activity! I will understand.
3. One character archetype per player.
4. You can have as many characters as you'd like, but please only make sure you can handle the number of characters you create.
5. Be prepared to play side characters and to control NPCs when needed.
6. Also be prepared to contribute to the plot and planning. Those that do will be rewarded!
7. No godmodding (unless a player has been inactive and has left you stuck, in which case you may godmod to get your character unstuck), metagaming, powerplaying, etc.
8. I have final say on CS sheets. I will always tell you what is wrong and help you to fix the problem. Unless you are rude or inconsiderate I will gladly help. {/slide}
{slide=Character Archetypes|center}There are several character archetypes you can pick from for your main character. They are broad and only are meant to dictate a vague background/event that is affecting your character. More information will be revealed in the IC.
[stabs=bcenter|570x150]
{slide=1|center}You are the older of two siblings. Your younger sister is someone you care about very much, and you've always been close. Often your parent(s) leave you to the job of babysitting/entertaining, and you're totally cool with that. But one day your precious little sister is mysteriously gone without a trace. You'd do anything to get her back.{/slide}
{slide=2|center}You have a very good memory. Vocab tests and memorizing the periodic table were easy tasks in school for you. You can recall in beautiful detail things that occurred in your childhood, and few details of the day before escape you. But lately you've been confusing things. Not because your memory is failing... but because you have new, foreign memories. You definitely don't have an Aunt Edna, and your family never went to Tokyo! What is going on?{/slide}
{slide=3|center}History may or may not be your thing, but either way, you've been getting some weirdly historic dreams. Last night you had a dream about the events at Pearl Harbor--and when you consulted Google about it, it was scarily accurate. Your dreams reveal things to you that you never learned in school. Even weirder... some of your dreams can predict the future. That dream about your mom buying the wrong cereal wasn't just a feeling. She really did buy the wrong stuff! How dare she!{/slide}
{slide=4|center}You were never popular. You had a small circle of friends, but sometimes you even wondered if they were only your friends out of pity. But things have changed. The most popular kid at Capax Public Highschool has asked you to join their clique. While some of the popular kids are a little skeptical of you, they've largely welcomed you with open arms. Why? I guess you'll find out.{/slide}
{slide=5|center}You don't believe in ghosts... or do you? There's no doppelgangers involved, here, but the people you've been seeing around town are rather strange, especially the one wearing nothing but dirty fur coats. When you ask your friends what they think, they just say that you're crazy. Nobody else sees these specters. Are you insane?{/slide}[/stabs]
[stabs=bcenter|570x150]
{slide=6|center}You literally have no idea why you're living in Capax. You woke up in a strange home, with foreign people that somehow know your name and call you family. But you don't remember them at all. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't claim amnesia. The doctors might find weird shit going on in that brain of yours.{/slide}
{slide=7|center}Yesterday, you woke up and your mom served you the meal of whole grain waffles doused in half a bottle of syrup that you always eat before school. Today, when she served you the same, you almost threw up. You've no idea why, but almost all your interests have changed. Your favorite candy is no longer the Milky Way bar, and you're rather disgusted by all the clothes in your wardrobe. Even further, you don't like a good majority of your friends, and you no longer identify as the same gender you did yesterday. "Momma" is now "Mom" and you're definitely not the same person anymore... are you?{/slide}
{slide=8|center}You might be perceptive or your intuition might be deader than Caesar, but either way, you've recently developed this really cool (and helpful!) ability to anticipate what people will say. It's not consistent, but sometimes you can tell what somebody is going to say a minute or two before they say it. I'd go ask them out, now, before this crazy power goes away!{/slide}
{slide=9|center}You thought it was just your mind playing tricks on you, but that random guy in the crowd that looked oddly familiar was real. And they look just like you. Uncannily so. Perhaps the only difference are in hair cut and clothing style. The one wearing a white jumpsuit was especially strange. And they seem to be trying to get your attention...{/slide}
{slide=10|center}Your parents are picture perfect. They love each other to the ends of the world and would do anything for their family. They even look perfect in every picture together! But one morning you woke up and one of your parents was missing... and replaced with a new step-parent. Your mom/dad doesn't want to talk about the event that lead to your other parent going MIA, and thinks it's weird that you're asking. "You were there!" But you don't remember it.{/slide}

{slide=Character Sheet|center}Feel free to reserve a character archetype and post a WIP of your CS. Alter appropriately for any side characters.
Additionally: please try to make characters diverse in both gender, personality, and background as well as race. I don't want to have to make a male/female limit, but I will to keep things balanced.
Format as you'd like.
