OPEN SIGNUPS - Aftermath OOC/Signups

Myzic yawned, rubbing the back of his head as he sat up. He had slept in, again. Luckily, nothing had found him just yet. Well, that was a plus.

"Mimi! Wait!" The little bunny called, running after her older sister. "I have little legs!" Laughing, Mimi, finally stopped, waiting for Momo at what used to be an intersection.

Ryou jumped up onto the large boulder. It was positioned just outside of his cave and served as platform so that he could see out into the open space for prey.

A small little girl hid behind a large debris from a fallen building. The stone was much larger than she was, being smaller than an ordinary eight year old. She pulled down the sleeve of her overly large sweater - that looked like a dress due to her small build - and moved the longer strands of her green hair away from her turquoise colored eyes. Her hair was cut unevenly with the front being longer than the back but even that wasn't perfectly cut which was natural since she was the one who cut her own hair. Peeking out from the debris, she saw a figure sitting up. The young girl was quite fearful of others and even more with people who looked normal. Other than not having good experiences because of her horns, she also felt weird around them because, well, they didn't have horns like her. Trying her best to keep hidden, she moved away, her boots making -inaudible, she hoped - sounds as she moved away. 'I think I'm being...not noisy. Yeah Elena, you're doing a good job. Yup.'

The difficult thing about being having a mutation that gives similar traits as a bird, was the fact that it was extremely easy to spot her. Having white wings and short hair of the similar color. Although that wasn't the worst thing about it. It was the fact that her arms aren't like that of an ordinary person - then again, who was still ordinary in this world? - but they were wings. Having no hands was extremely difficult and her wings aren't even useful to her. 'Think positive Calla, think positive.' She thought with a smile as she walked through the streets, looking for something useful.

A young man strolled through the streets, looking quite annoyed with a frown on his lips. Then again, that was his usual expression so nothing new there. His hands were inside on his pants' pockets as he kicked a rock before continuing his walk. He was as unfriendly as he looked. Then again, aren't most cats? And he had the traits of one - other than in attitude - such as the dark cat ears that were a stark contrast to his light brown hair. Even if he seemed to be careless in walking, he made sure to listen for any nearby sounds. It's always best to be cautious. Better safe than sorry, after all.

Slowly, a figure stepped through the shadows of fallen buildings. Her lilac eyes stuck out the most in the darkness. Cautiously padding into the light, her form was revealed. A centaur? No, nothing about her was horse-like. She had the torso of a woman and the lower half of a panther. She was quite large, her lower half alone being a little more than five feet tall. She looked around, a worried expression crossing her face. Alright, Amaya... No one seems to be around... But, wait... The half-panther half-woman thought, eyes widening as she thought she saw a figure... Or maybe two. Or more? She couldn't tell if she was just seeing things or if there were actually other living creatures around.
(interaction with anyone is fine)

Yasuko
A young woman crept through the remains of ruined buildings. She was quite small for her age of nineteen, only being 5'2". She kept her head low, shoulders nearly touching her cheekbones. Large bat ears swiveled and pinned back, wings flapping slightly every time she was spooked by something that wasn't there. She heard footsteps. They might not be too close, due to her heightened hearing, but they were there. Someone, or something, was around. The young lady was now in what used to be a busy street. She saw someone. They had wings like her, except... Not like her at all, really. They were in the place of their arms, and definitely bird wings. Not like Yasuko, who had bat wings coming out of her back instead of traditionally having them in the place of arms.

It took some time but Calla finally found something useful. Actually, it was something useful which she lost some time ago. A small flower shaped clip. Plant life was rare and if she were to be honest, she has yet to actually see one. It was why she liked the clip. She had been hoping to come by it and was glad that she did. She didn't even notice that she lost it until an hour ago when her hair had begun to constantly block the view of her grey eyes. However, now she had a predicament. Getting the clip. It was such a small object that she doubt picking it up would be an easy task. 'Well, if I did it before, I'm sure I can do it now.' Naturally, it would take time and patience. However, she found someone nearby after looking at her surroundings. 'Yay, lucky!' She'd be even happier if the stranger helped her out. She gave a wave with her feathered arm, and smiled at the other girl. "Would you kindly help me out?"[/i] She gestured to the clip on the ground before giving a small flap of her arms, well, wings, to show her predicament.

Yasuko
Red eyes widened, Yasuko slowly crept towards the girl. Her ears had perked forward and were twitching slightly. "Oh, uh.... Sure, I can help you." Finally, Yasuko walked forward at a quicker, normal, pace. She picked up the flower clip and admired it for a moment. It wasn't that the clip was unordinarally beautiful, it was just that the girl hadn't seen a plant-or anything resembling a plant- in a fairly long time. She looked back at the bird-winged girl and gave the smallest possible smile. Yasuko, seeing that the girl wouldn't be able to place it in her own hair, stepped closer. She gathered all the hair that was in the other's eyes and pinned it back with the clip.

((I, uh. Actually didn't get the notification for this. I'm sorry.
@Autumn))

Myzic froze where he was and tilted his head. They were soft, yes but he could still hear them. They were definitely footsteps. And by the sounds of them, they were either farther away or something small. Normally, he would have headed in the other direction, but seeming as he had nothing better to do, he decided to practice his stealth skills. After all, he would never survive in a fight, therefore, if the steps belonged to something small, it would be easier to escape if he screwed up. Standing, he turned in the direction of where he last heard the steps, he tilted his head and litened. Yeah, still there. Smiling, he quietly followed, hoping that his own steps weren't too loud.

With small legs such as her's, Elena only made it through a small distance even after a minute has passed. Momentarily stopping, she took another peek at where she saw the other person was earlier on. To her surprise and despair, the other was no longer there. 'What if I was seen and hunted down? Or maybe the person just left?' Looking back, she failed to see the one following her. 'Maybe the person did leave...' Nevertheless, she still constantly looked back as she walked. With her mind preoccupied, and her eyes away from the ground that she was walking on, she tripped over a piece of metal that stuck out from one of the fallen concrete. There was a small squeak before she fell on the dusty ground, she had always been such a clumsy child.

@Demmy

All that Calla expected was for the girl to get her clip but even then, she knew that the girl might not simply because she asked. Not everyone in this ruined world was a kind person. But the same could be said about the opposite. When the girl did more than just pick up her clip, Calla wasn't surprised. The other seemed like a kind person. Although her judgement on people wasn't always accurate - always thinking about the best of others, a trait that was both a flaw and not - her initial thoughts were true. "Thank you very much! It's great to be able to see properly again." She told the other as she took the girl's hands with her own hands - well, feathered wings but it was considered her hands as well. After a few seconds, she let go and introduced herself with a cheery smile and a tone that matched it, "My name's Calla and you are?"

Following the sounds of footsteps, Myzic stopped just around the corner. Peeking, he saw the girl and shook his head. How she had managed to survive was beyond him. After the girl tripped, he shook his head again and stepped out, clearing his throat to let her know he was there. "Um, are you alright, miss?" he asked.

Elena had stood and begun dusting her overly large sweater - with a new tear thanks to her fall - when she heard a sound come behind her. When she turned around, the space that was previously unoccupied a few seconds ago, the one she saw earlier now filled the empty space. In her surprise and fear, it took a few seconds before she gave an answer. Well, not a spoken one. She nodded and looked to the ground, appearing nervous. She looked as if she was ready to bolt any second now. Not that her small legs would enable her to outran the teenager before her.

@Demmy

Myzic nodded and leant back against the remains of an old wall. Sliding into a sitting position, he yawned, covering his mouth with a hand. "so long as you're okay," he mumbled sleepily. He had no idea why he was so tired. But it tended to happen all the time. No matter what amount of sleep he got.

@Autumn.

A humanlike lizard roused in his hiding spot behind something that used to be a cash register inside of the remains of a small corner store that was dangerously close to coming down on the creature. Garran either hand't noticed the hazard or he merely didn't care. The latter was a more likely possibility. Though saying that he didn't care wasn't entirely correct, 'he weighed the risk and decided it wasn't a good enough reason to change his residence just yet' was more accurate. Either way, his short nap had been interrupted by shouts coming from outside. They didn't sound threatening in the least, which called for investigating. Getting on his feet with swift quiet movements, the 'lizardman' kept his head low as he zigzagged through debris expertly and without a sound. He was familiar with the building, he could move through it just as quietly with his hands behind his back while blindfolded.

Once he got to the front of poor excuse of a building, Garran carefully peered though a window frame while being sure to stay in shadows to avoid getting spotted. Even though it was unlikely anyone outside could see him, Garran could see the outside rather well. And what he saw was promising. Two small humanlike creatures with long fuzzy ears a little farther down the road. They were young and didn't seem too competent at defending themselves. They were roughly his size so he wouldn't be at a disadvantage either. The only advantage they had was that they outnumbered him, which was why the lizard chose to follow them discreetly in case they would lead him to a stash of food or something else of use he could then steal while they were away. They were lucky Garran wasn't hungry enough just yet to try and attack the two for a meal.

Silently, he climbed through the window frame and started creeping slightly closer to the pair up ahead while ducking out of sight behind some kind of broken, and sometimes less broken, things of the lifeforms before them that littered the landscape.

Elena watched as the other slid down a wall. It came to mind - her's which was quite quick to assume - that the male might be dead. Or at least, dying. For a moment, she looked as if she ran away but in truth, she just went to find something to poke the other with. It didn't take long before she came back with a thin piece of steel that was half of her small arm. With it, she poked the male constantly with a worried expression. "...you dead?" She asked with a small frown before adding, "Don't be dead." Her voice was almost as quiet as a mouse's squeak as she continued to poke the other, getting more and more worried. She was still scared of the normal looking person but she didn't want the person to be dead. It didn't come to her mind that if the person was no longer alive then he wouldn't be able to respond to her words or poking. Her current mindset was that if she poked him long enough then he would wake up and be alive.

Though he preferred to be alone, Myzic was actually sad to see the girl leave. Perhaps he should have asked her to stay. His thoughts were stilled, however, when she returned, armed with a stick. What was she going to do? Stab him? She seemed rather young to have such thoughts. Keeping his eyes closed, he pretended to be dead so that she didn't try to hurt him. Sure, she was small, but it could have been part of her mutation. Except, she had tried to wake him. Asking him if he was dead. "How old are you?" the boy asked, finally opening his eyes. Probably wasn't the best idea. He was likely to scare the poor thing. But for someone to be poking a random creature in a world like this, they were either really young or really stupid.
@Autumn

When the younger girl finally caught up to her, Mimi gently patted her on the head. "Don't be so loud, Momo."
"But whhhhy?" The little girl asked, hardly able to keep still. Though the two had been walking for a few hours, she was nowhere near tired and was still full of energy. Mimi simply shook her head, then looked around. "Because we don't know what is here. Could be monsters..."

Having received no reaction from her constant poking, Elena was starting to believe that the other was truly gone. She looked down to the ground sadly for a moment. Death, even that of a stranger, was always a sorrowful event. With her thoughts having assumed the male was dead, she was thinking of leaving. However, she was stopped when she suddenly heard a voice. The same voice that asked her if she was alright after she tripped. She gave a small squeak of surprise, even dropping the metal she was holding. She would have ran away or cried if her mind didn't get preoccupied by the question asked. It was a simple question but the young girl found that she had to think long and hard for the answer. "Um...ummm..." She looked at her hands and began muttering numbers before finally looking at the guy, "Seven...no, eight. Yeah, eight." Even after hearing him speak, she couldn't help but ask, "So, um, you're not dead?" She wasn't sure if she might be talking to a ghost. Well, she's never seen one but just moments ago, she thought the male was dead so she didn't scrap the possibility.

Myzic chuckled at the small girl's reply. So, she was rather young. In that case, she must have been lost. Or lost someone else. Either way, she seemed to be alone. "No, I'm not dead. Just very, very tired," the boy replied, rubbing his left eye a bit and giving a smile. "What's a little girl like you doing out here. It's dangerous, you know."

@Autumn

Elena was relieved to hear that the male wasn't dead, although she did wonder why he was tired. When she found him, he was lying down and she assumed he was asleep. Which is what made her question his tiredness. She didn't sleep for long yet she still managed to be wide awake in the day. Then again, she was still young and children often had plenty of energy to spare compared to teenagers and adults. She ignored his last words and instead asked, "Why are you tired?" She was a curious little girl with a short attention span, unfortunately. She wasn't one to focus on multiple things, preferring to go through one matter at a time.

(I'm so sorry this is so late, oh my lord...)
Yasuko
Awkwardly, Yasuko smiled back. "N-nice to m-meet you, too, C-Calla... I'm, uh, Yasuko." Her ears twitched the tiniest bit, staying as straight as a pin. The young woman's wings were folded neatly behind her back, and during her awkward smile her fangs could be seen. The other girl seemed quite cheery. She wasn't very loud in actuality, but mostly everything was loud to Yasuko. That's why she liked being alone, and it was the reason was her voice was so gentle. She often talked to herself, and it would be quite awful if her own voice hurt her ears.

Amaya
The creatures weren't actually alive. At least, the ones she thought were there. Really, they were fallen signs traffic lights. She stood there in the street for a moment before letting out a small growl of boredom and turning around. Amaya had decided to go exploring. Although there wasn't much vegetation, she was in an area that had a bit of grass. Sure, it was yellow-green, short, and dying, but it was still grass. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a cave. This time, she knew there was actually something there. So, the half-panther stuck to the shadows, the black fur of her lower half blending with the darkness.

@Demmy

Myzic sighed, turning so that he was at least facing the girl. "You know, that's a good question. I don't really know," he replied, running a hand through his knotted hair.

@Autumn

Ryou ear's perked as he heard a noise, but he was unable to pinpoint the location. With a sigh, he sat, pretending to be unaware of his surroundings in hopes of bringing out whatever was the cause of the noise.

The half-panther could barely see what was in the cave. It definitely looked like a living creature, but then again, her eyes had deceived her many times in the past. Amaya crept out of the shadows nearly soundlessly. With each step she regretted her decision even more.
