James has been enjoying herself enough, making small talk when needed and sipping wine. It was critical she was here since she had been absent from the public for so long. The last time she had been to this party was about five years ago, though it could have been longer. Memory is something tricky she was noticing.
She stood by a young woman about twenty or so, both if them silent as the King spoke. James found it odd they hadn't greeted her when she arrived as was custom, but she put that out of her mind as she listened.
Then, as everyone noticed, shit hit the fan. The woman beside her was killed instantly, her blood covering the dark red dress James was wearing. Lucky day to wear this color she thought to herself and ran towards one of the doors.
"Open this at once," she commanded. The guards didn't listen.
She turned back to the blood bath and summoned a ball of fire, burning one of the monsters alive. She spat on it's body and began making her way through the crowd, fire blazing into the air. She was determined to get out of there.
