The horse, slowly but surely, calmed down, reassured by Zach's efforts.

Eventually Ricko managed to spot horse tracks going through the forest, "The other horse must have gone this way." Ricko said, gesturing to the horse tracks he'd found. Ricko wasn't sure about if they led where they came from or another part of the forest entirely, "Does the horse we've found have a map on them?" he asked Zach.

Zach looked into the horse's eyes. "Stand still please." He whispered, as if the horse could understand. He held up a flat Palm to sign 'stop' and gently pet its head before going to the side to look. Camp supplies, food, a blanket, medical kit... Zach pulled the medical kit down and set it on the ground before he kept looking. His arm felt drenched now and his shoulder was throbbing. He ignored the light dizziness he felt and finally his hands grazed over one of the electronic maps. It lit up, fizzled, then lit up again. Zach cursed softly as he pulled it out. "It's cracked a little and the image is fuzzy... But I found one.." Zach's voice was quiet and a little shaky. He suddenly decided maybe the cut on his shoulder was more important then he though and set the map in Ricko's hands. "I'm gonna..." He trailed off, slowly sitting down, "bandage my shoulder." He finished quietly. He used his knife to cut away the sleeve of his shirt to examine the fairly deep gash.

Looking over at Zach, Ricko realized that the injury that he'd sustained was worse than either of them thought. It was like a map could be a metaphor foe Zach's condition at the moment, and, ironically enough, he wished that there was a paper version with them now. Zach was usually quiet, but the way he sounded now was very worrying to Ricko, and considering that the bandits could be planning another attack on them...

Ricko set the map on the ground and removed his fist covers, opening the medical kit, "I believe that your injuries take priority." Ricko said, taking out something that would help to disinfect the wound. He didn't have much experience with treating wounds, but could remember how other medics treated his injuries.

Zach stared at the wound for a long moment. The knife that cut him was serrated... It was a dagger, about six inches long... The blade curved backwards a little. Zach looked up at Ricko as he spoke. He knew how to wrap the bandages... But that's all he ever did. He didn't ever think his injuries were bad, and he rarely ever got injuries like this. He watched Ricko cautiously. "What are you doing?" He asked quiely.

"Helping you with your wound." Ricko responded simply. He wasn't trying to do Zach a favor as much as do what he saw was the humane thing. If Zach was injured and it got worse then, well, it wouldn't help either of them much, "As soon as I apply the disinfectant," he gestured to it in his hands. It was something that usually either those of high status had or was for those on the battlefield, at least in his kingdom, "I can apply the bandages to the wound. Stay still... it might sting." he approached Zach's wound carefully, trying to apply the disinfectant.

Zach bit his lip slightly, watching every move Ricko made. He look slightly confused, but said nothing more. He'd seen disinfectant before, but he'd never used it. He glanced over to the bandages, then back to his shoulder. He figured he would need to clean the blood off the rest of his arm, and later when they found the other horse, see which one had his pack he'd put on his and get a new shirt on. The material wasn't regular, it had metal weaved through it that made it a little more protective. Expensive, but worth it. Zach knew of the same bandits attacked again, he could find which one cut him.. As long as they all didn't use the same knives, and he didn't think they did.

After Ricko had applied the disinfectant he went to apply the bandages. He tried to be careful when doing it, but despite going from what he had seen before with his own wounds, one could tell that he wasn't exactly experienced with treating wounds. He wasn't sure about how tight he should do the bandage-- Tight enough so that it stayed on, right?

After finishing with the bandages, Ricko stood up again, putting his fist covers back on, "... That should take care of your wound." he said, adjusting the fist covers. He wanted to go look for the horse, but he wanted to see how Zach was doing first. He didn't feel like it would be a good idea to leave Zach alone like this either, when the bandits might attack again when he was vulnerable.

Zach watched his shoulder the entire time. When Ricko stood, he gingerly reached up and touched it. Of course, it hurt, but the bandages seemed solid enough. He moved his shoulder a little and his eyebrow twitched. That hurt much more, but he would be okay. Zach stood, looking to Ricko. "We need to find the other horse." He said calmly, crossing his arms and glancing around.

After seeing that Zach seemed to be a bit better since the wound was taken care of, Ricko nodded, getting out the map that Zach had given him. It was still glitching and it wasn't the clearest image, but it gave a vague sense of where they were, "So... if we're here..." he said, gesturing to where the map said they were, "... and the horse tracks lead there... that means that the horse might have gone somewhere over here... although, we should take what this map says with a grain of salt." he said, now knowing that the map didn't give the best of directions in this state.

Zach but his lip. "It's worth a try, even if the map is broken." He looked over at the horse tracks. "If we don't find the horse that direction, we make a circle around the area. It won't go too far.. It should have stopped once it saw it was safe.." Zach went to the horse they did have and pet it gently.
