Within the whispering walls

"Your next class is past the Haunted Hallway," Cory said in explanation. "It's best to go with someone else your first time." Cory had been going to school there since his freshman year, and even so, every time he went through the Haunted Hallway, he got nervous.

Soon, they were standing before the menacing Haunted Hallway, and Cory was saying, "Take my hand. And if you can, always touch one of the walls. If you start hearing the voices, just say, 'God protect me from the spirits.' Okay?" He held his hand out for Kyrin to take.
 
Kyrin nods, he noticed the lights flickering and it kinda set the mood, he gulped looking around but Cory was there so he wasn't as scared as he would be by himself.
 
Cory placed his free hand on the wall and took a deep breath before taking his first step into the hallway. Immediately, the temperature seemed to drop twenty degrees, and Cory had to force himself to continue. At the edge of his hearing, he heard the faintest of whispers, and felt something tugging at a couple curls of his hair. It must have been much worse for Kyrin, to experience this all at once for the first time.

He took a deep breath again, only able to force himself to keep going.
 
Kyrin heard some voices and mutters the verse over and over as he walks down the hallway
