When Circumstances throw Myth Investigator, Louis Johnson, hunting for the legendary Rumpelstiltskin her life takes an interesting turn as she tries to capture the master trickster. On Rumpel's side of things, this is all one great game of cat and mouse. The real question at the end of the day is: Just who is the cat, and who the mouse?

GENERAL CHARACTER STATISTICS

Character Name: Rumpelstiltskin/Rumpelstiltzchen, depending upon region
Alias: Rumpel, but never just "Rump." He'll get you for that. He usually goes by a borrowed name, which he never bothers to keep.
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Faerie, major Fae (more powerful than a Nisse, less powerful than most Aes Sidhe)
Age: ???
Occupation: Provides magical favors for a price, plays tricks on humans whenever possible.
More: While not evil, Rumpel comes from a background which encouraged him to wreak havoc on humans for the fun of it. As of the last 60 or 70 years, he has had some encounters with humans whom he has tricked "just because" that gave him pause. He still offers magical deals to the unfortunate, usually with a very steep price, and plays with travelers through his part of the woods, but he's cut back on maliciousness.


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS


Height: Usually about as tall as a child, Rumpel is not restricted by a particular size. He is a trickster Fae, and can shift his form substantially, changing overall height, limb length, head size... Using a glamour he can also mimic the appearance of a human.
Hair: Silvery and wispy, it stays quite short and is eternally windblown in appearance.
Eyes: An eerie pale green
Distinguishing Marks: Unnaturally smooth skin, and a distinct paucity of facial and body hair.
General Appearance: Usually impish or pixie-like, a small wingless humanoid. Rumpel prefers to be slender, almost waiflike, with long hands and feet. His face is thin, yet masculine.
Strengths: Not much. Mostly trickery and magic. He is very capable of fine coordination and very tactilely sensitive.
Weaknesses: Rumpel is physically frail and not terribly strong at all. He also has a low pain threshold.


MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS

Allies: They're not exactly loyal, but given enough profit, other Seelie creatures will help him meet his goals.
Enemies: Only petty little grudges between himself and other Fae. Other enemies have, at this point, been left behind.
Current Goal/Purpose: Finding a mortal interesting enough to play with.
Aspirations: Nothing long term. Just to have fun.
Likes: Watching hubris catch up with people, practical jokes, sweets, fine pastries, ruining parties, jokes, riddles, beautiful women, people-watching, racing through forests
Dislikes: Getting caught, making a fair deal, having to perform favors without any profit, being forced to give freely...
Talents: Tying knots, setting up light traps and practical jokes, and, obscurely, weaving. He has a great sense of balance and is very graceful, as becoming of his people.
Inabilities: Rumpel has no combat training nor experience, and is hardly ever any help with anything. He may be graceful, but he is not hardworking.
Fears: Permanent capture and imprisonment.
General Personality: Almost never serious, but never tells a lie - only misleads. Selfish, inquisitive, changeable, and brilliant, he doesn't always think too far ahead.
Inner Personality: Although he feels like he belongs, doing what he does, what he really wants is a reason to keep going.
Fondest Memory: He doesn't have this sort of luggage.
Biggest Regret: Ditto.
Secret: His name. He never tells it to anyone without being coerced into it.


SPECIALTY CHARACTERISTICS

Special Items: He usually has a bauble or two on hand, to bargain with, help with his illusions, and because he likes shiny things.
Magics: As per his nature, he can manipulate how things seem and how they are seen, and can change his shape and size (to an extent). He also has a touch of reality-changing abilities, which he can only really use when making bargains with mortals. He can cause permanent illusions, coax plants to grow a certain way, and, for the right price, transmute objects.

Character Name: Louisa Johnson
Alias: Tends to go by Louis but accepts Louisa as well
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Human
Age: 32
Occupation: Hunter is a very basic way of labeling it. Louis prefers Secret Detective because of the kind of research and work she has to do before hand to properly hunt down and capture the people she's paid to find.
More: Louis' usual jobs are a bit more basic. She's been hired to take scandalous photos of people that ruins marriages, and finding lost family members that have been separated by time and mishap but occasionally she gets an odd job. The first time she was hired to hunt down something more in myth and fairy tale she thought it ridiculous but figured she'd give it a shot because the guy was rich and she found it humorous, but when she discovered just how real it was she accepted even the lower payed jobs just as practice for her skills.


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS


Height: 5'8" Just about average height
Hair: Raven black, sleek and painfully straight without the use of an iron it falls in perfect lines when out of a pony or braid, and even after spending long periods of time in a braid, it doesn't hold any curl or wave.
Eyes: Brown so dark it often appears black
Distinguishing Marks: A single mole that marks otherwise pale skin, landing right at the edge of her jaw closest to her right ear.
General Appearance: She has softer features, a face that has been said is 'easily trusted' and the build of someone just on the cusp of being overweight but not quite to that point yet. Her eyes are large and though they can appear cold when angered, they usually seem large and open.
Strengths: Intelligence and Determination, as well as her many contacts. She also has an innate ability of befriending most people, and is generally considered kind.
Weaknesses: Her job -people outside of her work doesn't know what she does and they would most certainly think less of her if they found out-. She's also a human with ordinary human weaknesses, plus an allergy to rabbits.


MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS

Allies: Very plentiful and considering most of them have either favors they owe or blackmail Louis has on them, they're very dependable.
Enemies: The people who's lives she's ruined... there's quite the list. Mostly the partners that were cheating and the business man that were doing underhanded business.
Current Goal/Purpose: To find and capture Rumpelstiltsin for a high paying client.
Aspirations: She has split goals. In the long run she wants to have enough money to live a comfortable life, but she also wants to discover all she can about the world of the Fae.
Likes: Finishing a particularly difficult assignment, Discovering something new, a good game of Volleyball, pinning down a particularly tricky target, a good game of wits with someone else of high intelligence.
Dislikes: Feeling lazy, making mistakes, losing a target, petty scandals, Boredom, pointless violence
Talents: Besides photography and outwitting people (needed for her job) she's also a fair cook (not the best, but she's good at making due with the ingredients available) and she's a decent hand at chess, and very skilled at wrestling. She also knows her way around a gun, but she doesn't like using it.
Inabilities: She lacks in visual creativity so creative projects don't end very well, and she's also unable to do anything that involves grace or poise. She's also not good at hunting, fishing, camping or doing anything outdoors. She has enough know how to scrape by.
Fears: Her friends and family discovering what she really does for a living
General Personality: Only serious when on the job, Louis really likes a good joke and loves to laugh. She has a way of being nice to people even when she doesn't like them, and is generally good natured although she truly becomes more strict when on a mission.
Inner Personality: Louis thinks highly of her intelligence and sees herself as better then most people. Even with this haughty attitude, she's afraid of not fitting in and forever feeling like she's alone -in the sense where she won't find someone who thinks the way she does and understand her in a way her friends and family don't seem capable of.
Fondest Memory: The expression on the recent state champion wrestler after she defeated him in the match her Senior year of High School.
Biggest Regret: Not getting the proper degrees to become an actual full fledged detective.
Secret: Her job; none of her actual friends and family know. They think she works as a journalist for some obscure newspaper.


SPECIALTY CHARACTERISTICS

Special Items: Louis always has her gun and a pocket knife on hand. She's gotten out of several sticky situations with them and so always keeps them with her. Besides that, she usually keeps a mini journal and several pens so she can write down observations or things that need notations.
