Loving the warmth that came from being outside, Val let out a soft, unnoticeable sigh as she walked into the old brick building of
Fort Fairfield Middle and High School and waved goodbye to her brothers. Walking down the hall, a right, a left and finally turning to face the right side of the hall where her
locker was located, number 150. It was really only locker number 50, but since it was on the first floor it had a one in front. The school only has two floors, so there are '100' level lockers on the first floor usually for the middle schoolers and '200' level lockers on the second usually for the high schoolers. After putting the combination into her lock for what seemed the gazzillionth time, Val let out a sigh of relief and stopped chewing on her lip, the slight smile reutrning as she was able to grab her Environmental Science and Sign-Language Textbooks before glancing down at her watch, she had two minutes before class started, maybe Juni, her best friend would be in class with her...if only her dad would let her have a phone, then maybe she could text her best friend.

"See ya at 5 Smiley" Noah smiled after his sister as she went off on his own. While school ended at 3 most clubs didn't end until 4 or 5, same with sports. Ignoring his older brother's cold shoulder as usual, Noah walked up the steps to the second floor, locker 203 was literally right at the top of the stairs... all he had to do was go straight, put in his simple combination of 35-3-5 and collect his book. Walking into his first class, Ancient Civilizations with Mr. Herrera, Noah placed his things on his desk, which was at the very back by the window, just like always, before slipping into his seat and opening his notebook, beginning to doodle. Noah didn't particularly get along with Mr. Luis Herrera. He had the teacher in seventh and eighth grade U.S. History as well and the man had nearly failed him both times.[/fieldbox]

Lollygagging as usual, Hyder just kept walking, ignoring both his siblings. He didn't mind Noah but he still didn't like Valeria... and probably never would. Walking up the stairs and turning left towards the math wing, Hyder didn't bother to stop at his locker, number 217, which was on the way. He had never bothered to use the dusty piece of hollow red metal and he wasn't about to start in his senior year. Leaning against some empty space on the wall, about three doors down from his statistics class, Hyder kept an eye out for any of his friends, occasionally acknowledging someone he knew as they walked past. As was typical, Hyder ignored the buzz of the surprisingly modern bells in the old building that signalled class was starting. Might as well not start this year off any different than the rest.

First day of school, all of his brothers and sister have told him different things.
'Jade says it's a bore, Thalia said it was fun, Tyler said it was fun too ... but Kaylyn said it was scary... what if it's scary? But what if I make lots of friends like Tyler and Tali?' Mark thought to himself as his older brother walked him to his kindergarten classroom in
Fort Fairfield Elementary. He was lucky in that both his older brother and one of his older sisters, Kay, were both in the school with him. Walking into the room alone, after saying goodbye at the door of course, Markus Brooke dragged his spiderman backpack by the handle to a green colored chair at one of the 'big' round tables that had five chairs at them each where he sat, looking around at all the fun things and the clear, shiny thing on the side of the room that had a bunch of fish and a little turtle in it. Once the class started his teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Bray, then she had all of the kids introdue themselves
{Sorry Felilla, I borrowed her for a moment}. Eventually it got to Mark's turn "Hi! I'm Mark, my favit color is green" he smiled happily, kicking his feet back and fourth as the other kids went.[/fieldbox]

As usual, Bentley was being an idiot and trying to play a mean trick on Carly, one of their cousins whom they were driving to school today... which was kinda weird because Kelsey and Nelly live right next to Carly and they go to work with their mom because she works at the school so why wouldn't Car just go with them? Shaking his thoughts away, Aiden watched and couldn't help letting a smirk crack as Carly simultaneously threw the centipede out the open SUV window and and kicked Bentley in the shin "Told you not to do that" Aiden added rather smuggly as the vehicle came to a stop and the kids climbed out... or rather Aiden and his older but very little cousin Carly climbed out, pulling Bentley by his ear. As usual, Aiden had to carry both his bag and Bents...at least they were in the same class...which was right across the hall from Carly's. The glory of being in fourth and fifth grade: you got to be on the second floor with the library and music and art rooms, the only things downstairs were lunch and gym. "Bye Carly" they echoed, one identical twin rubbing his ear while the good twin dropped Bentley's backpack at the 'evil' twin's feet before going to look for his name which was neatly taped to a desk next to Autumn's. Smiling happy at the thought of being next to his best friend, Aiden sat down, waiting for everything to start while Bentley wandered around the room for a few minutes before very obviously ignoring the names on the desks and sitting at the seat on the other side of Autumn that said 'Isabella'.

"Why, out of all the days of the school year did I have to miss the bus today..." Sarah muttered to herself as she waited at the public bus stop to catch the fifteen minute ride into Fort Fairfield, Maine from Castle Hill, Maine. If she tried to walk, or even run, she would never get to school before it was over. Rummaging in her pocket she pulled out a student ID card and five quarters, giving the driver the student price. Sliding into the seat nearest the door she closed her eyes for a moment and let out a long breath, waiting for her stop. After a few minutes she glanced at her
flip phone, the only phone she was able to afford, Sar noted the time was 8am already, she wouldn't get to her stop until probably 8:03 ... and from there it was another four block which was usually a good ten minute walk... but maybe if she ran this 'Wildcat' as people called her (thanks to that last name), Sari might reach the middle school by 8:10.[/fieldbox]

"Hey Vic, I'll see you later tonight, I'll probably just ask someone else for a ride home ... maybe Chloe since we haven't caught up in a few weeks... and we both have dance... and..." Avia began to ramble as she re-adjusted her 'Potter 7' bag on her shoulders and continued walking, only frowning for a mere second when her sister just began to walk off. Shrugging it off, Via began humming the Hogsmeade, Harry Potter Theme. Sure, she was decked out in potter decor today but she was a die-hard potter fan and the music was pretty catchy... if not creepy at times. Besides, it was an un-announced tradition that each year Avia donned a theme for the first day of school, this year happened to be harry potter, last year was monsters inc, maybe next year she would do something musical based, Les Miserables, maybe? As she bounded up the stairs and toward her locker, clumsy Avia stopped paying attention to her surroundings and felt herself bump into someone a mere moment before landing on the tiled ground. Blinking she glanced around "Oh I'm so sorry" she breathed, embarrasment filling her apology.[/fieldbox]

After listening to her sister ramble on and on the entire way there Tori was actually kind of glad to get rid of her super nice but super hyper sister whom she loved dearly but occasionally seemed overbearing. After Vi had said she would find her own way home Vic simply said goodbye while her sister was rambling again and headed up the stairs to briefly stop at locker number 210, collect her first three books then headed to Algebra II and Trig, her least favorite yet first period class. Better to get it over with now than later then, right? Perhaps Yolanda, her best friend, or Astrid another good friend of hers, would be in her class.

"Relax Amy, you're fine" Lydia said as gently as she could to her daughter before laying the six month old back in her bassinet where Tiny the not so tiny German Shepherd and Banjo the Pitbull immediately took up guard... not that Amethyst really needed any guarding her grandma and her younger uncle were both home... not that her uncle could do much... he was only 5 months old. Lydia 'beat' her mom by one month according to the older woman. Life as a teen parent without a boyfriend to help out was certainly no fairy tale... and she was reminded of that every time she was late going somewhere now. Odd really, since Lyddie's mom was also a teen mom. quickly pulling her sandal on, Lydia sprinted down the road to a former fling's house and desperately begged for a ride ... which ended up costing her ten bucks and a hug, but she would live. Lyd ran into the building at eight on the dot and ended up being three minutes late to class... since she had to actually find the room first.[/fieldbox]

He wanted to talk to her again... hopefully he would see her at some point. Sure, it was just a hook-up ... but he hadn't really intended it to be. Zach really did like Astrid, he just managed to do things a little out of order ... and then the party was over and he had found himself quite hung-over and half on his bed the next morning... which didn't help considering his sister was mad at him for missing her competition and started blaring her music around him... not that he could ever really stay mad at Ali... but he did learn his lesson about two months ago during that incident.

Standing at the steps of the school, Oaky looked up and swallowed a gulp. She wasn't too good with such big changes without her families support... and she was feeling extremely home sick right now. Walking up the steps and into the building she re-adjusted her shirt and looked around at all the kids as she glanced at the slip of paper with her locker number on it. "This level seems to be all in the hundreds... maybe...ah-" she breathed a sigh of relief as she rounded a corner and found a staircase where upon reaching the top she saw the two-hundreds. Glancing at her number again, Oakley heard a buzzing bell type thing as she stumbled, quite literally, into the lockers... including the bottom one which happened to be hers, number 224. Tossing her bookbag into the locker she gathered her notebook and her schedule before beginning to wander again and look for Advanced Placement, or AP, French. This time she felt very confused, although the school was small this class seemed like it was on the first floor being room 123.[/fieldbox]
