The scents of my husband, and my son, are calming to me.

I also enjoy the salty aroma of the ocean, and the skunky smell of marijuana. And that arts and crafts smell you can breathe in at the arts and crafts stores.

Or the smell of a laundry vent when the dryer is going.

yes, this is the best smell in the world. 10/10

anyway I also like the way my cat's paws smell because I'm gross

Weird smells I like?

Victory.

The tears of my enemies.

The sight of them driven before me.

The lamentations of their women.

How can you tell the difference between tears? I'm pretty sure they all smell like salt....

I like the smell of:

  • Rain on hot humid summer days
  • Warm summer nights
  • Sunscreen
  • Books, new or old
  • My old stuffed animals
  • Cigarette smoke. It's oddly comforting to me even though I don't smoke. Nearly everyone in my family does though, so that's probably why
  • That sort of...I don't know how to describe it, but the smell of the doctor office waiting rooms. Which is funny because I hate, hate, the smell of hospitals, but not doctor offices even though I've spent large amounts of time in both.
  • The laundry room and clean clothes

So like, smells people don't usually like?

dust, like old dusty closets and attics

... I think that might be it xD I also like the smell of old books, sawdust, the city after a rainstorm, and a bunch of other stuff, but I don't think those are terribly unusual to enjoy.

  • Gasoline
  • Sharpies
  • Paint
  • Cigarettes

I love the smell of puppy paws.
I also find the smell of petshops oddly nice.
I love the sterile clean smell of hospitals and clinics.
Diesel exhaust.
Burning wood.
Lighter fluid.
Cleaning chemicals.
That sorta almost moldly smell when water has been sitting too long somewhere.
Fresh kitty litter.
Tattoo/piercing parlors have an odd scent.
Wet dog, actually.
Hand sanitizer.
Burning fields.
That smell coming just before a storm.
My parents' house and my house. They're a comforting smell.
My girlfriend's body odor.
Dryer lint.
Art classrooms (esp if they work with paints or clay)
Books, especially old ones where the pages have started yellowing.
Uhh.. I think I can stop here.

-Gasoline
-Gunpowder
-That musky army supply smell
-Lumber yards
-Camp fires
-Broken painballs when you're cleaning your gear or waiting between rounds
-My dog
-The scent of a river
-The scent of the ocean

• Freshly cut grass
• Diesel (not when you're close to it)
• Gasoline (not like huffing the fumes but it smells good coming from the running lawn mowers, y'know?)
• Mint SNUS. God I love that smell and taste.
• Anarchy Cologne. (melts my nose and heart)
• Cheap Car Air Fresheners
• Burning Plastic
• Pool Cholorine
• Soda (yes I smell my soda, leave me alone)

@Dervish i can't stand the smell of the ocean. I love the ocean but as soon as I cross the state border I swear the salt is in the air and I feel like my nose will start bleeding (the fall makes my nose spontaneously combust for some reason. I get this jerking feeling in my sinus that lets me know before the capillaries bust and Florida air smell like that feeling I get in my nose. Or maybe the smel triggers the same responses idk). It's weird. I get used to it on the 3rd day of vacation but I legit have to plug my nose to sleep at night or at least to fall asleep.

Oh you know all the dangerous stuff one probably shouldn't be smelling. In this case all mine have been picked, and I wonder how we are alive. Oh wait I have one and no it's not a fetish, but I enjoy the smell of old shoes. Something about it that just makes me like it.
