Trouble on Ember Wings

Syn gave a great wide yawn as she stretched her waking body. Arching her body much like a cat. She let out a rumble as she walked to Jevith, looking over her then sniffing her as she checked the state of her friend. Wulf shrugged as he stepped away from Chosovi so that she could stand up. "Alright I guess." He said lying mostly. He didn't think it important to explain to her that he'd not slept at all.

"How'd you sleep?" He said throwing the question back at her. As he spoke he looked to Jevith, more importantly at her wounds. "How'd you sleep Jevith? Feel better?" He asked the dragon. He knew she could not speak to him but he'd be able to at least understand her rumbles, grumbles, snarls and growls.

Jevith grumbled, not wanting to wake up at all, but as she felt Syn's presence near, she smiled her dragon smile and shook her head and the rest of the body as she stood, looking to Syn and rubbing their scales together on her neck. She felt better, but her shoulder was still very sore and she felt a little weak. Chosovi eyed Wulf warily when he lied, but she said nothing, shrugging like he had when he shot her own question back.

"I slept okay," she answered. It wasn't entirely false. Jevith turned her head towards Wulf as he inspected her and she gave a low, slightly tired rumble when asked if she felt better. 'A bit better', is what she seemed to say. Chosovi smiled and patted her dragon before looking west towards the town. "We should head out, yes?"

Syn let out a soft but deep rumble as she greeted her fellow dragon. Rubbing her own neck with Jevith's. She backed away to give the other dragon room to move. When Chosovi eyed him he raised a brow and gave her half a shrug as if to say 'what?' He playfully eyed her back when she said she slept okay. Though e was pretty sure it was closer to the truth than his reply. Wulf took the rumble as content albeit weary. He was sure it meant she was feeling a bit better but the slow cautious movements led Wulf to believe she was still weak.

"Yup. Town's west I think right?" He said as he walked to the smoldering camp fire. He kicked the ashes, making sure the fire was completely out before he looked for the setting sun. He faced west and gave a deep sigh. He looked down to see the sword he'd taken from the attack on the school. The ebony blade was a ominous reminder of what really happened. He picked up the weapon and started to walk westward. "Lets pick up some more suns vine on the way." He said looking to his friend.

Jevith gave a purr-like noise as Syn greeted her and after she had finished stretching, she sat beside Syn, watching the two riders speak to each other. Chosovi smiled at Wulf's own eying look, but she also knew that her answer was closer to the truth than his. Her blue eyes watched as he made sure the fire was entirely out.

"Yep, town's west," she answered as she moved towards her male companion. She looked at the sword curiously, remembering how he had taken it from one of their attackers, and she wished she had something other than her dagger. The woman started walking with Wulf, nodding in agreement to gather more sun's vine on the way for Jevith. The two dragons trailed behind their riders, speaking to each other occasionally.

Wulf looked to the sky a moment to discern the position of the sun, then headed westward. After collecting enough vine to cover more of Javith's wounds they moved on. Wrapping the vine loosely around his upper body, seeing as he had no other way of carrying it. At first he was not to keen on paying attention to his surroundings, instead he simply walked and swung the sword thoughtlessly at small flora in his path. "First thing we gotta do is get you a bow... Did you drop the sword you had? ... Did you grab a sword? I... I can't remember..."

The whole thing was a jumble of images that were hard to piece together. Despite them happening just yesterday. So much ignorance the prince had for his surroundings that he didn't pay any mind to the huge shadow that flew over them. Luckily Syn didn't miss it. Her spiky head shot upward to the sky, her yellow eyes trying to look through the tree tops to spy something. Anything. Though she hoped it would be nothing.

Chosovi wasn't paying that much attention to their surroundings either, but it was still more than Wulf was. She nodded in agreement when he told her they needed to find a bow. "I did grab a sword..." she answered him, furrowing her eyebrows and squinting her eyes as she recalled grabbing one from one of the dead enemies in the hallways. "But... I must've dropped it somewhere along the way." She sighed; she should've kept the sword. That way, they could all be a little better off.

Jevith didn't miss the looming large shadow either. She sniffed the air, eyes dilating slightly as she looked to towards the sky. She gave a quiet noise to her rider and Chosovi looked to the white dragon, heeding her small warning of being alert and she looked around as well. And then, a few steps forward and suddenly a loud cry rang out as a large dragon landed in front of the small group.

It could only be a enemy from the other day.

Syn gave a worried grumble, one that Wulf met with little more than a glance. His usually care free attitude not bringing him to be more worried about the situation. "You worry too much. Probably-" But his words were cut off when a large dragon and it's rider landed in front of them. The prince gasped as the breath was taken from him, stumbling back wards as he quickly raised his sword. Syn lowered her body like a cat and gave a vicious deep snarl. Lashing her thick scaly tail from side to side.

Now the prince became serious. With out hesitation he stepped in front of his friend. Know Chosovi had no weapon to defend herself. He wanted to yell at her for loosing the weapon but now was not the time. "You're making if you think we wont hesitate to kill you." Wulf warned as he narrowed his eyes on the rider and dragon.

The rider and dragon started to circle the pair, the muddy brown dragon hissed deeply as it sneered to show it's teeth.

Chosovi immediately followed that loud cry. In front of them was a dragon with with forest green scales, dangerous spikes on the end of its tail and on its head, and angry honey colored eyes. It was bigger than both Jevith and Syn, but it wasn't anything compared to the ebony dragon from before. Its rider was smirking, a matching green helmet on his head. What a lovely pair to find. Boss would certainly be happy with him.

Chosovi clenched her teeth as Wulf stepped in front of her. She had no weapons and Jevith was wounded, but that didn't mean she was automatically helpless. Jevith was growling and hissing as well, moving to one side of the riders while Syn was on the other. She was wounded and still felt a little weak, but she would protect her rider at all costs. As the enemy rider and dragon circled the small group, Chosovi quickly squatted to pick up a rather large stone. At least she could throw it. There was sure to be at least a few sturdy branches around somewhere, so hopefully she could get to one so she could have it act like a sword.

Wulf's eyes darted to Chosovi briefly, taking note of the large rock she'd picked up. The rider laughed mockingly at her weapon of choice but the prince knew better. Being an archer the young Hopi had a hell of an arm on her with painful accuracy. She'd pegged him more than once with a pebble to the back of the head. "Before we kill you, answer us why? Why attack the school?" This only made the man laugh more. That's when Wulf noticed the quiver and bow on his back.

The prince was cocky and felt completely confident that he could take the man down and give the weapon to his friend. In his head it was easy, take the rider down and the dragon would fall too. "You are a cocky spoiled brat." He said as if this was an epiphany. "I don't know why. Boss just wanted the school razed." The answer was unfulfilling and left his questions unanswered for now. Wulf narrowed his eyes at the man and dragon, whom drew ever closer. "Now just come quietly." He sneered as Wulf kept moving to face the man. He glanced at Chosovi, nodding at her. Hoping she'd understand that he meant for her to chuck the rock at the man.

Chosovi wanted to know the answer just as much as Wulf did. That school, ECDRA, had been her second home. Everyone knew each other, and while they may not have all gotten along with each other, they were all like one big family. At least to Chosovi, and then everybody was murdered. Slaughtered. The school was burnt to the ground like it was merely an ant hill and all you had to do was stomp on it.

But the enemy rider hardly gave an answer and the woman looked to her male companion, nodding slightly in response before swinging her arm and hurling the rock, aiming for the rider's head. He hadn't expected such a perfectly aimed throw, much less such a fast pitch, and the rider's head went to the side as the rock hit him squarely on his thin, leather helmet. A loud clunk was heard as it hit and then the rock merely dropped down and rolled off the dragon's back.

The thud was satisfying and it gave the prince a small victory, enough that he laughed as the man fell back from the hit. His green dragon bellowed in surprise, looking back to it's master in surprise. This would have been the perfect time to try and run, seeing as the dragon would have not wanted to leave it's rider alone. But it was this moment that both Wulf and syn chose to rush the bigger creature. Both letting out a battle cry.

Wulf raised his sword and aimed to attack the rider. Syn leapt with one bound, spring loaded like a cat onto the face and neck of the other dragon. She may have been small but that didn't mean anything in her head. Wulf went after the rider, knowing that if he died, so would his formidable dragon.
