She hadn't been mistaken. There were Blackthorn forces here, slowly trickling in, perhaps not to cause alarm, most likely to set up a perimeter before they made their move. What such a move would be...the blond could only guess at and she didn't like the ideas her imagination came up with. She'd semi kept up with the news and so far, Alex knew that these protesting rallies had been left alone by her uncle, but it had only been a matter of time before he retaliated and made an example of these people.
That it might be today created a tightening knot within Alex's stomach, her lungs feeling constricted as she looked around quickly, uncaring if she looked frantic or not. If questioned, she could say she had lost someone or that she was claustrophobic or something., but right now that was hardly on her mind. The truth was that her black eyes were catching an increase of uniforms in every direction and the blond was trying to pinpoint an opening to slip past them, but the crowd was growing restless, finally taking note of what was happening around them.
Took them long enough! Or maybe too soon...
The people around her were packing in as more of Blackthorn's forces showed up, starting to herd the large group into a tighter cluster, already preventing people from leaving. Alex could hear yelling, fights already starting to break out on the edges of the crowd and those within the inner circles were starting to understand something was very wrong, growing fearful, questioning and Alex could nearly TASTE the panic building around her.
Her own state wasn't much better as she could feel the building energy around her, soaking into her skin, purifying within her, growing with intensity the longer she stayed in this situations. A situation she couldn't escape and one that was quickly escalating out of control as the Blackthorn group started in on a bullhorn, announcing that everyone here today was to be detained for questioning.
And then all hell broke loose.
