Those Hunted

Baker eyed the man, Edward, with a bit of respect. He didn't let his rage control him; that was certainly something that many can't say.
And so Baker was the first to jump down from his spot, and extend his hand towards Edward, saying, "Howard Baker, call me Baker, Howard, How, 'big metal man,' as Xypher might put it, whatever."

Edward heartily shook Baker's hand, nearly crushing the meta carpals. "Glad you're not totally heartless. Just don't burn down any more forests, and it'll all be water under the bridge." *GROWL* Aww shit. Has it been that long since I ate? Ohhh... With a twirl of his arm, Edward grew a peach tree in the middle of everything. Edward only focused briefly, as his stomach took over. The tree split sideways from Edward's excitement. He pounced on the nearest peach and began devouring it. Edward took three huge bites before he stopped. Wiping away juice from his cheeks, Edwrad brushed his hands on his pants. Eying Chrissy and Xypher, he picked two of the larger ones. Edward tossed both at Chrissy and Xypher. Edward took one last bite, then directed a question at Xypher. "What about you? Do all those blond locks have a story?"

Wolf glared under his breath at Baker, trying to keep his cool, and his thoughts kept going back to all the hunters Baker killed. He put it behind him, him not being a hunter anymore and said "Howard Baker, Army of One and Slayer of many. That's what the boys back at the big house called you." Sliding his energy blade back into his wrist he added with Edwards statement, "And not step on Zero... that would be great."

Blade strutted up behind Wolf, sharping its tail on its teeth, which picked up speed and began making a chain sound. "I would also prefer to not be thrown against a tree 'Big Metal Man'." Blade quickly shook its body, knocking some crispy leaves off of its legs.

Insanity watched from under a burn't tree, glad it wasn't still burning. His shadowy veil mixed with the tree's dark bark, and even better with the shadow it casted. Saying aloud, "Damnit..... his damn robots are with him....along with those band of mutants. That one seems oddly.... familiar." His eyes drifted towards Baker as he hopped off the large robot. He eased back towards the road, and hugged the edge of the side walk. Sirens wailed past him, police cars and a few hovering robots flew past him, probably towards were the jet flew....or the burning forest. As he watched the police, a kid riding a skate board bumped into him. The kid fell to the ground, Insanity barely budged, but his happiness grew extremely. He leaned over and picked the boy up in one hand, and with the other he felt shadowic claws grow into a blade like fist. He held it towards the boy's throat, ignoring his plea's for mercy, but enjoyed the pain and fear he felt. Blood fell to the sidewalk, the sharp points hitting the boys skin. Screeching tires halted Insanity's advance into the boys flesh, and the sound of an officer screaming "Drop the boy now!" Complying, he dropped the boy to the ground and watched him run off towards the street, forgetting the skateboard. Insanity turned towards the SWAT van, and towards the ten men aiming guns at him.

Deus watched the scene from a skyscraper, collapsing beneath the flames that enveloped it. He'd flown out as soon as Aurus had told him of Baker's presence, with Aurus, Mente, and three others. "Interesting." A powerful lot, all gathered in one place. Oh, the humans had there class system. And Deus had his. Three classes. Class 3, non-combatant or completely trivial powers. Laborers and proletariats. Class 2, combat-efficient powers, effectively dangerous in numbers, and some rarely could be on par with an army. And then there was Class 1. Combatant, death-dealer. Practically a god. Once, only two Class 1's existed: A... Thing, known as Insanity, and Deus. And then there was a third. Howard Baker. Mercenary, butcher, and powerhouse. Everything Aurus was, and much more efficient. But the cold cruelty, and rogue attitude. He was a threat to himself, Deus, and his kind, ignoring the losses he had caused to the enemy. Deus had nothing to fear of him. At one point, he had been afraid of him. And then he met a magnetic, who'd tried to kill him through his suit and nanite friends. It was then he realized the power they held. It had been a time they were there for the sheer purpose of putting him on the level of a Class 2 like Aurus without his suit, when he was at his weakest. But it was then he saw the potential in using them to interact with someone such as Baker without fear. He allowed the magnetic to force the bots out of him, and use them as projectiles. Vladimir Alenko was enveloped in fiery agony. And Deus rose, the bots latching into his body for an anchor, healing themselves and him. And he crushed the mutant's skull in a hand. It was a moment he regretted for the rest of his life. The diamond lacing was an added measure. After further research following Baker's emergence, precious gems were found to be his grand weakness. They would protect Deus for a time. The shield would stop projectiles. No drones. That was a weakness. No metal. The others came dressed in wetsuits, lacking in any zippers or other metallic items. No ammunition. Deus's projectiles contained a shard of ruby (acquired during a raid in Burma) in each shot. They acted as a structural stabilizer, and should counteract Baker's powers. Recruitment was no longer an option. Howard Baker must be broken.

"Final scans." His thermals came up with 7 lifeforms: one Xypher Tasmania (Class 2), primary objective Howard Vance Baker (Class 3), Unknown lifeform (codenamed Nosalis, human offshoot), Edward Hamilton (Class 2, barely), Chrissy Rossum (definite Class 2), Kat (Class 2, last name undocumented), and Drake Forester (Class 2), a Hunter. Added as a secondary target. Basic observation provided that there were two synthetic lifeforms with him, most likely the automaton codenamed "Zero" and "Blade". And a further ultraviolet scan found a two more beings: Ross Kinsley (Class 2) and surprisingly, Insanity (Class 3), hiding in the shadows. "All three in one place. Not good." He turned to Aurus and Mente. "Mente. Sound the trumpets. Aurus. First volley." He felt Mente reaching out with her mind, probing everyone in the near vicinity. The buzz of the nanites inside him filled his ears. Aurus's hands began to glow, signifying that he was preparing his blasts. "Go." The sudden psychic scream almost knocked him off of his position. It wasn't even targeted at him, and he felt the effects. Aurus let loose the gathered energy, vaporizing the air in front of them and doing an unseen amount of damage to the targets. "Avoid the innocents. Baker and Drake are the goal." He launched off the building, followed by his warriors.

Not far off Illya sat in a tree cloaked and invisible to the eye watching the exchange relaying information to her cloaked stryder unit for identifying threats and identification. She watched the Nosalis wary of it hoping it wouldn't smell her. Not noticing her cloaking shimmer slightly from deflecting attempts to scan her.

Ross had planned to introduce herself once everyone else was done, she thought taking turns would be nice so she waited patiently for her turn.

Until she noticed energy blasts heading towards everyone, herself included. Wait wait. I go through objects and material things. Like bullets. But can I go through energy?! Ross suddenly was filled with panic, not sure if she wanted to take the chance and go straight for an energy blast. So she did the second best thing, avoid. With much skill she floated around avoiding being hit. She cut it close a few times, but she remained uninjured.

Seriously, Ross? Seriously. I bet you could go right through this. And why don't you, you know, find the source of this attack? You can fly for God's sake! Use your brain.

Okay, so her brother was starting to talk more often to her now or maybe it was just Ross going insane. Either way her brother, or her own mind, was right. She could find the source, but did she really want to try to find it? Obviously it was out to harm all the mutants, so why find something that is trying to hurt you. It was probably going to come to them anyways.

Coward. If I was in control we would have more fun.

And from the ground, Baker smiled. The first one in years; for him, the first one ever. He felt alive, and he wasn't going to give up.

So he stood up, forming a metal wall around the burned area of the park, forming metal plates to block the energy signatures, the molecular disturbance. He finished his wall, protecting them from the obvious looming skyscraper.

Bring it on, hunter. I'll be ready, I'll be hunting.
And he summoned the metals from the earth, from the houses around him. He jumped, forming a metallic suit over his body. And now, with his entire weight supported by metal, he forced it forwards, levitating a foot off the ground.

Insanity sat in the armored police van with several chains attached to him. Eight men sat infront of him all guns pointing at him, a few chattered about trying to see his face. He didn't even allow them to see the normal fake red eyes and mouth most saw, but instead let them see the blank black face a few were lucky to see. His eyes drifted towards the closest two men and watched as they began to blink quickly and shake their heads. Their guns slowly went down to their sides, and all to quickly, one man's eyes drifted too his friends face. He let out a scream and drew his knife stabbing the man in the throat. Insanity kicked the man into the other two men, who shot wildly out of fear, all piercing the first mans body. The last four men let out seperate screams, and dropped their guns, and opened the armored van doors as it went down a highway. One man tried scramble away from the closest man, and in fear drew his pistol and fired point blank into the mans head, missing a few shots and hitting another man in the back of the throat. The last three men all jumped out of the van, hitting a truck behind them, and one went off of the bridge they were on. The police van came to a stop on the side of the road, and Insanity stood and stretched. He felt the chains around him loosen and break off completely, the shadows that tore them off disappearing. The two drivers came around to the back of the military van and stood in shock of their dead friends. Wildly, one man with a shotgun backed away from the other cop and fired at him, killing him instantly. He failed to pay attention to his surroundings, and walked straight infront fo the semi truck.

Kat felt a disturbance, she had already been confused by the mix of emotions that only seemed to grow stronger. This height of emotion and passion and fear she had only felt a couple of times, one in which was before a murder. Her eyes were wide open now and she stood. Curiosity killed the Kat is what rang through her ears, but satisfaction brought it back soon followed in her mind.

The pink haired girl folded up her map quietly and did her best to sense where the emotion came from. This was new to her, but with such high emotions running she was able to tell the general direction. Plus, she had always subconsciously been able to differentiate who's emotions were who's and how to manipulate them in her mind.

While Kat walked, she kept quiet and hid behind what she could. Trying not to look sneaky while hiding, but at the same time she wasn't really succeeding at it because well it was a very hard thing to manage, and opposites. It was hard to not look like you were hiding, while you were hiding. She successfully hid behind a large tree, feet following easy terrain. Afraid to pop her head around the tree and look, she thought smartly and took out a compact from her bag, doing her best to keep quiet while her hand dug through clothes and money to find it. Then, using the mirror she positioned it an arms length away and tilted it around the tree, looking at a few people who looked disoriented and possibly injured. One man stood and then tripped and fell once again.

The fear caused anxiety in Kat, what the hell was happening? So she did her best to pump these people with determination and excitement, to counter their fear and confusion. Kat found these to be opposites and good in counter-acting eachother. She pushed, and pushed the emotion, letting her arm drop and closing her eyes. She sunk down the trunk of the tree and sat upon the ground taking a deep breath and steadying herself. After a little while of pushing, usaully human bodies propelled themselves and heightened the emotion on their own, so she no longer had to. When she felt it was easy to give them this, that's when she knew she could stop trying to force it.

But with a few more seconds, Kat wondered what the hell she was doing, it was very possible they were afraid, upset and confused for a good reason. Why was she trying to make them feel better? To please people she hadn't met. Almost immediately she dropped it, and stopped forcing the emotion. But what had already been done was probably enough to feel the rush in the bodies of those beings. So Kat kept quiet, and tried to listen well. She didn't want to be caught eavesdropping. She wasn't known to be nosey, although she knew in her heart she was. She wished to keep it that way, without people thinking poorly of her.

The V-44 Osprey just powered down, when the short man came running in, dropping some papers all over the hanger floor. Echo Squad was just flown in to interrogate a Mister "Insanity" that was being delivered to the small military base. He was supposed to be here before Echo Squad, but somthing went wrong. Sarah sat on the side of the helicopter, her helmet sat next too her, her assault rifle propped up next to it, but as the man came running in, Sarah went to meet him. He gasped for air, then said "He.......He escaped...Mister Zane wants you to go get him...Alive...." Sarah frowned. She hated taking mutants alive, mainly because its twice as hard and thats how the group lost the fifth member of Echo Squad. She nodded and looked for her team. Cyborg was standing next to a vending machine, and put one hand up to lean against it, but drinks started to tumble out at the touch of the Technomancer. Juggernaut and Colt sat on a couch next too the vending machine, laughing at what Cyborg just did. She chuckled alittle and started jogging towards the Osprey, and whistled as she went. By the time she got there, Cyborg and Colt were right behind her, but Juggernaut walked slowly in no rush. Sighing, she said "Come on big guy, we got a mission too get to."

On the way there, Sarah told them the mission, and as they neared Insanity's location, the pilot gasped. Looking out the open door, Insanity was on a highway, several cars crashed all around him, about two dozen dead police officers littered the ground around him. Juggernaut stood next to her, and said
"Holy Shit"

The pilot landed the Osprey, and slowly the group aimed at Insanity as they approached him, who held his hands up in surrender. Sarah nodded towards Cyborg who started to approach Insanity.

Insanity watched the Osprey as it landed, and let the team get close to him. One of the men started to approach him, and as he neared, Insanity quickly grabbed the mans arm and pulled him close, trying to access the man's mind by staring at his eyes. It just didn't work. It was as if this wasn't a man. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain, and looked down to see a blade in his thigh, then felt a fist punch him in the face. His vision slowly faded away, but at the last moment, he focused all his energy into keeping the shadowy veil over his face.

Meanwhile in the same tree as earlier the cloaking had failed and we now see Illya ignoring the fighting, arguing and dead bodies calmly reading her book Monsters or Men while munching on an apple as her stealth drones collected data sending it to her for later use.

You see she really didn't care about the clashes of will and warriors except for a few mainly the other female mutants and Edward due to the facts that they seamed most civilized and Edward because he made the tree her apples were from. The two power houses well that's another story because 1) she didn't feel like being a hunter and stab them in the back, no she had too much of that pesky thing called honor. That and she didn't want to A) die or B) get her book destroyed, she waited for one to kick the bucket so she could get blood/DNA sample and get paid.

Ross didn't quite know how she could attack. She knew she could do something with ectoplasm, but to tell the truth Ross had never actually used it before. She knew it was some power she could shoot of of her hands and she had accidentally only used it once on one of her bedroom walls. It left a decent sized hole that was shaped like something had chemically eaten through the wall.

You're more powerful then you think you are. You can do a lot more then you know. We combined into one person and you were shaped into an abnormal ghost, a power ghost. We could do so much to these attackers.

No. We can't. I don't know my powers. And besides, if I am powerful then we should keep that on the down low. It seems like the more powerful mutants are the ones that are being hunted, even by mutants.

Ross argued mentally with her brother. It crossed her mind that maybe she should just team up with someone, like Xypher, and fight whoever was coming their way.

"You think you are so big and tough, huh? Yes, you are brilliant. Until you end up like everyone else." Thana had been captured by government officials once more. Thana had been visiting New York city when the massacre of Deus had taken place. She was distracted by feeding off of all the negative energy and death that she hadn't noticed she was surrounded by government officials.

She woke up hours later in a small container.

Small.

Her weakness, she couldn't get herself out. She couldn't muster enough strength to punch through or even make her harm into something that could easily pry herself out of the dark grey metal box which only had a small hole for breathing. Maybe it was laziness or maybe it was fear, Thana didn't know. All she knew was small containers and her did not mix. But it wouldn't take to much time, eventually she would be able to get enough strength or someone would slip up and let her out. Or even someone would find out a loved one died and the sadness and depression would be enough energy for Thana.

Edward was surprised at the groups friendliness. The last time Edward tried playing the diplomat, he nearly got shanked. Hard to live that down. When the energy blasts began raining down on the group, Edward felt helpless. He ducked behind the shelter Baker and Xypher soon provided. Shit! Another situation I'm helpless in... this is worse than being locked in my cell. At least there I could bust out easily enough. Edward groaned from total frustration, clenching the scorched ground once more. Ironic. Ashen ground is the most fertile. Outside of random war, I could really grow.... Then he got an idea. A wonderful, awful idea. This is actually better then my old cell. I just need some kinda... Edward stopped his plot when he saw Xypher cloak herself in fire. That'll do it! Edward stood up, grabbing fistfuls of ash, and started concentrating on the ground beneath everyone's feet. Edward spread his arms apart, entering a sort of stance. His legs locked into the ashen ground, absorbing the rich nutrients. Soon a sapling grew in the middle of the group. Within a minute it grew seven feet tall and six feet wide. Its leaves fell off withered in favor of green flowers and thorny vines. Edward felt a large blood vessel swell on his forehead as the mental strain grew. Edward mentally wrapped the growing tree in the vines, producing long and sturdy thorns. The flowers oozed an unknown pus as they grew with the tree, becoming as large as Rufflesias. Soon Edward's creation was 20 feet tall, and pushed the group to the edge of the circle they made up. But the strain was too much. Edward fell to his knees as his weapon was done, panting like a former smoker running up a hill. He stared teary eyed at Xypher and Baker, as he began explaining his plan. "Guys! This(wheeze) is something to behold. This is my very own tree missile!" Edward then fell to his bottom, as his body gave out from exhaustion. Edward picked up his speech with paced breath from the ground. "You... you two can ignite it and launch it from here.... Shoot down whatever ship or satellite is making... making those beams rain on us." As he began to fade, Edward shook himself awake. "Xypher, lighting it on fire will make it smaller, but the ignited pus will turn into a strong acid. I can't help with shooting it, but this WILL take down anything airborne if you can get it going. Believe me, I've done this before." Edward could feel his strength falling. He sat up, his muscles felling like bricks. "Use this to shoot it down. I think you and Baker can make explosives together." Edward's eyes drooped and his posture became even worse as he strained to stay awake. Edward entered near delirium as he passed out. He spoke only a few more words before passing out with a soft voice. "Aim for the head." Edward fell under his creation, entering a small coma.

'Hm interesting…' Illya jumped down engaging her cloak before moving up into the circle placing a DNA tag on the tree and taking a blood sample from Edward before decloaking to administer a injection of nano machines, electrolytes and a revival agent into him. "Your not going to die hear my friend." With this she packed the medical supplies and throwing a sideways glance towards Xypher and the wondering if they had seen or noticed her before turning her attention back to collecting DNA from the tree waiting for her cloaking to cool again so that she could disappear into the sidelines again.

Baker felt a new presence moving, by way of metal. Something made some parts of the metal electrify, a device of some kind, and I shut it off as the figure moves towards Edward.

While already somewhat strained from controlling his body armor and the 'shields' that floated around the circle, blocking energy beams, I promptly ignored Edward's 'missile,' since I could make a radioactive lance or dart. And instead, I pull the metal signature back to the main area, away from the trees, pushing the metallic molecules to the ground. To whoever it was, the device that had been activated [cloaking device] would suddenly stop working, and they would come flying back from where they had been trying to sneak away and be flatbacked.

To keep whoever it is still, he brought up something like a shackle to encase middle torso, wrists, ankles, shoulders, and waist.

Then he turned his attention back to the attackers, making 4 more 'versions' of his armor, all of exactly alike the metal suit that encased his own armor.

As Edward fell, something shifted. His ears didn't catch it, but he could feel its presence. Edward slowly revived, as building his tree missile took enormous energy. Edward thought the ash would lessen the cost, because of how rich its nutrients are, but it was still heavy. That nearly killed me. How am I recovering so quickly? Whatever that was... maybe it was Chrissy or Xypher? Edward moved his arms first, each bicep feeling like solid lead. Next he wiggled his toes, hoping he could get back to work soon. Edward got back up at a snail's pace, each muscle feeling old and worn. He stood against the tree missile, trying to scan the battlefield. Of course Baker ignore's me. Forgot about the who;e metal bender thing. Only hope is Xypher. Edward groaned as his body worked against him. With only a little focus, Edward returned to controlling the vines. With the long thorns, Edward dug underneath the roots. If I can create a large enough hollow, we can launch this bad boy with pressure. Maybe Xypher could use steam or something? Edward remained against the tree, nearly crying from how much effort it took just to move. Edward called out, unable to see much amongst the chaos, " Xypher! Could you please come here to lend a hand?"

"FUCKING GOD DAMNIT why is it whenever I try to help someone this keeps happening" Illya yelled irate from her restrained position. It always seemed that when she helped someone it came back to bite her in the ass when she finishes. In her irritation the USC device reacted along side her causing the restraints to be blasted off. Noticing that she still couldn't move she made the connection that her armor had been altered by Baker before alchemicly altering her armor to a lighter yet stronger carbon nano weave and composite replacing the metal plates, and components alongside replacing the wires and other inner components with fiber optics, nanotubes and conductive glass. But the effort took its toll leaving her bordering exhaustion.

" Xypher! Could you please come here to lend a hand?" She heard Edward call reminding her she still needed make sure her unconventional allies survived to the best of her abilities. Pulling herself to sit up against the huble of a destroyed tree picking one of the medical pouches off of her belt containing another vial of nano machines/stims. Quickly activating them she tossed it to Edward getting a questioning look. "Inject it into yourself… it'll bring you up top condition again" she instructed. He hestated. "Do you want to live or not!" She yelled out again finally seeing him comply she smiled and slipped into unconsciousness hoping Xypher, Edward and the others would get her out of here alive.

Xypher holds out her hand to Baker following Edward's example, then she holds her hand out to Edward smiling softly. "Ah that there is, but its depressing. What about you plant man?" She teases lightly. Once they shake her hand she turns to Wolf giggling softly at Blade's comment and Wolf's words. She tilts her head slightly hearing sirens not too far from them, frowning she walks toward the noise. Noticing a girl sitting at a bench not too far away from there group she seemed...Different. But before she can approach her she glimpses something out the corner of her eye. Looking toward it she sees a shadowy figure hiding in the shade of the tree, the cops had surrounded him and were pointing there weapons at him. She could only see the figures back so she couldnt tell what he was doing or why he was being what looked to be arrested.

Before Xypher could do anything though energy blasts start raining down around her and the group, she quickly does a backwards somersault to avoid one blast aimed straight for her, her whole body suddenly erupting in blue flames. The blast hits her shoulder but it reflects off the flames doing no damage. Glaring she looks up toward where the blasts were coming from trying to find the source, but the sun was blocking her view.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Xypher suddenly felt a jolt of determination, summoning her 4 ft long blue fire sword she looks around for any enemies. Seeing the metal wall form around them she looks back at Baker noticing he had put himself into a type of metal suit. She cant help but smile "Now you see why I call you big metal man, Howard" Her voice is teasing but strong. The flames covering her were growing hotter making the scorched earth under her feat turn black, the air around her within a 2 ft radius becoming quite hot (About 100 degrees F, the air that is).
Xypher backs up slightly so she was closer to Baker and the others, forming a kinda circle so she could watch there backs. Her eyes scanning the area hyper aware of any motion or sign of attack.
Wolf turned to completea a small triangle formation with his two companions. Wolf spotted the attackers, flying high above them firing with energy weapons. Dodging to separate from a volley of blast, Zero and Blade were separated from. Facing his attackers direction, he switched to his explosive rounds and began firing rapidly at the group of attackers.
Wolf stop mid-barrage, and took cover behind a tree. He peaked around and looked for a better view on his target. He heard a yell, near the group and watched a newcomer fall over unconscious. Swearing, he reached up to talk into his headset, but remembered his helmet was off and on the ground next to Baker. Sighing, Wolf said "Damn, Now I gotta save her." Taking a few steps back, he took a running start and activated his jet boots, being propelled towards the unconscious girl. Everything seemed to slow down as he flew right above the girl, and Wolf reached down and grabbed the girls waist and arm (Illya). He thought to himself "Wow, that was pretty easy!" Then he looked up. He flew straight towards a tree, and threw his back frontward to try and protect the girl and his own head. He heard a *CRACK* and instantly got a migraine. The girl flew from his hands, landing in a bush behind a row from tree's. As Wolf hit the ground, he knew something was wrong. He couldn't move his legs, and felt a sharp pain all over his back. He reached his arm back and felt a bone sticking out of his lower back. Closing his eyes he said "Fuck this is gonna hurt."
Insanity sat across from one of the soldiers that obtained him, and with her a woman that kept addressing herself as "the Mind Interpreter". Making a crimson red grin appear on his shadowy face, the Mind Interpreter spoke again, this time Insanity chose to hear her. "Mister Insanity, Since your not willing to tell us your true name, I'm going to find it out myself." Insanity gave out a chuckle and spoke the first time in ages to another living thing that wasn't and animal "If you insist Ms. Interpreter, or do you prefer I call you Mrs. Claresa?" The girl looked towards the solider with a questioning look and said "How did he know me real name? (Then to Insanity) Look it doesn't matter, your stuck in this military base and not escaping. Yes, I am Samantha Claresa, one of the U.S's best Mind Readers." Insanity began chuckling again, which grew into a laugh, which grew into a crazed laugh. A few miniutes later, the whole room was tense. Growing serious in a matter of seconds, he looked towards Samantha and the soldier and tilted his head "You are serious? You really don't get it! I'm not locked up in here with YOU. You're locked up in here with ME!" Samantha shook her head in partial fear, and partial denial. "YOU don't get it, so im going to show you." Her hand reached across the table and touched Insanity's shadowy face, and started to read his mind....
Samantha was growing tired of this crazed.....thing thinking it was on top. He was obviously a shadow bender or what ever they are called, so there was no real danger to read his mind right? So thats what she did....
She instantly got a ahead reading his mind. She opened her eyes in a new place, a drip of water sounded someplace far...and someplace near. She looked around, and took note of the lack of light. A single spotlight shown on her, the rest of the mind was darkness. Taking a step towards where she heard the water she heard his voice
"A brave one aren't you? Reading a monsters mind is a fun task isn't it? You mutants think your so powerful, over everything and everyone....The only thing that equals mutant stupidity is human stupidity. We monsters that can admit it are the true gods Mrs. Claresa." Walking in a circle around the light, Samantha said curiosity in her voice "You aren't a monster Insanity, you are a mutant just like me. Just like all the other mutants in the world, monsters aren't real and we both know that." Blinking, she opened her eyes to find a new scene. It was Fall, the leaves falling from tree's and the familiar sound of water was right infront of her. She knew this place. This was the day her brother died, he fell into the very pond infront of her. Gasping, she tried to exit Insanity's mind. She closed her eyes, imagining herself in the real world and opened them to nothing change. "Is there a problem Claresa? Your looking pale...how about a drink of water?" She took a step forward, Insanity forcing her closer and closer towards the pond. She pleaded and cried, trying to escape his grasp. She reached the pond, and in it was her brother. He looked so alive still, his eyes closed. His mouth opened up saying "Sam, help me out of the water please! It hurts so much! Help me sis!" Reaching down against her will, as she grasped his wrist, his eyes flickered open, his eyes blood red and he spoke again in Insanity's voice. "So tell me again monsters aren't real Samantha! I'm a monster, your a monster, the world is full of monsters. You help the very monsters kill your own kind! and for that you deserve a special place in hell." Gaining control of her body again, she fell back away from the pond and scrambled backwards trying to get away from the now standing body of her brother, blood pouring from his eyes. She scrambled away still, and hit something...no...someone solid. She turned her head to see Insanity, crazed grin on his face, and shadowy claws instead of hands. She heard movement all around her, big black ravens with razor sharp talons ready to tear into her flesh. The last thing she saw before the birds attacked her was Insanity's eyes.
Samantha was screaming, on the floor crying yelling to anyone and everyone to "Get them off of me! Get them off!" The guard with her stood up as Samantha fell away from the table, and struggled with his pistol. Insanity laughed like a child in a candy store and said "YOU ARE STUCK HERE WITH THE DEVIL." The light in the room broke, leaving it in complete darkness. Outside the interrogation room all that was heard was screams from inside, along with a few pistol shots. Some more guards tried to get the door to open, but it wouldn't budge. A few miniutes later, light poured into the interagation room as a horse sized hole was ripped from the wall, a single figure walking out into a laboratory.
Insanity walked into the laboratory, making a shadowy wall closing off the interrogation room from the laboratory. In it were three scientist gathered around a smallish container, taking notes on something. It reminded him off the time he was captured when he was a child, anger growing inside of him, a shadow gauntlet formed around his hand, the claws returning to his fingers. He slammed the claws into the ground, and from the shadows of the scared scientists surrounding the container spikes shot from. Each impaled the scientist, sending blood all over the container. Papers flew from one of the scientist hand, and Insanity grabbed it from the air and quickly skimmed on what was inside..... A monster named Thanatophiila . (Thats you Alice :D)
