Realm Guidelines and Expectations
Realm Decrees
— Creation of lore, settings, and plot hooks are all HIGHLY encouraged. Whether through
C.A.S. or in #fanon, Fallout: Requiem was designed for everyone to experience the Wasteland in whatever fashion they crave.
— While Fallout and beyond that- the Wasteland as a whole -is quite dark and depressive as a setting, I don't wish that to be the tone throughout the OOC. Let's respect tolerances and post any dark humor, disturbing discussions, or plot hooks in private holotape data threads.
— Please try and keep all OOC threads within the main forum.
Roleplay Expectations
— While each GM will have their own posting expectations, the following is applicable for any DM-ran (that means me!) roleplays unless otherwise stated:
GM Posts will come once a month, with the potential for collabs and npcs responses sprinkled throughout. Ideally, I would like players to reply at least twice a month, though once every posting cycle is absolutely fine, especially if one is collabing with fellow players. I'd like to see 2-3 paragraphs per post, but will always prefer quality over quantity.
Social Conduct
— Treat others how you would like to be treated. Don't be a dick, help out where you can, and share the love.
— A GMs word is law and should you not agree with their rulings, finding another roleplay with a GM better fit for your needs may be the answer. However, I encourage all future GMs to be as accommodating (within reason and creative vision) as possible, as the realm was designed to accommodate all lovers of the Fallout franchise and the apocalyptic end of times.

IC Subforum: #CANON
— All in-character threads associated with Fallout: Requiem and its debut roleplay, A Requiem for Spring are welcome in the #canon subforum. By associated,
I mean past, present, or future stories that will affect the world, lore, and characters of the realm. While not every story, character, and plot thread need be "accepted" or "approved", this means that there's an inherent understanding to embody the realm-provided lore or at the very least, respect the effort put into curating it.
All that to say, if you'd like your characters and stories to effect the overall long-term narrative of Fallout: Requiem, roleplay within the boundaries of the lore, even if that means expanding upon it and creating your own. :^)
IC Subforum: #FANON
— All in-character threads for roleplays a part of the setting, franchise, or any story classified as apocalyptic are welcome in the #fanon subforum. No permission needed to post, nor are there any rules or expectations to adhere to, outside of
Iwakus own or the ones you, as future GM, set for your players.
All that to say, if you don't wanna vibe with the realm-provided lore or instead have an idea that just doesn't fit the vibe- the #fanon subforum is the place to be!
Realm Prefixes
Thread prefixes are colorful tags displayed before a thread's title. They can be chosen when creating a thread or afterwards, by selecting "edit thread" from the 'more options' menu above the very first post. More than one prefix can be applied as well! These prefixes show what a thread is for and you can easily filter through them by selecting a prefix within the forum.
The prefixes within Fallout: Requiem were chosen and curated to be multipurpose, due to the Realm limitation of 10. Some are recognizable and some are completely new to the site!
OPEN
-
Threads which have the prefix Open indicate that the roleplay, interest check, or partner search is currently open and accepting new players and/or partners. Alternating between Open and Closed prefixes is a good way to grab attention and avoid unneeded inquiries.
CLOSED
-
The Closed prefix displays at-a-glance knowledge that roleplays, interest checks, or partner searches are not accepting new players or partners at this time. Alternating between Open and Closed prefixes is a good way to grab attention and avoid unneeded inquiries.
EXTRA
-
A catch-all prefix applied to threads containing miscellaneous lore or extra content not included in signups, bonus material like short stories, character surveys, art or other creative content related to new or existing roleplays, as well as additional places to develop or worldbuild settings for Fallout: Requiem, #canon or #fanon.
LORE
-
This prefix is used to designate threads which provide lore and necessary worldbuilding for roleplays.
MECHANICS
-
Need a place to display pertinent information for your roleplays? Sign-ups or important explanatory terms? The Mechanics prefix is used to indicate the thread in question is a necessary read— use sparingly!
QUEST MARKER
-
Quest Markers, like DLC and Expedition, can be used in whichever subforum, for IC roleplays, interest checks, or partner searches.
HOLOTAPE DATA
-
This prefix is used for threads that focus on storing data, be it character indexes, private character storage, bonus content, plotting discussions, or anything else you can think of within the parameters of data storage!
OOC
-
Self explanatory! All threads marked with OOC should remain in the Main Forum.
REQUEST TERMINAL
-
This prefix is one part interest check and one part partner search thread, always signifying that you're craving something apocalyptic-y.
EVENT
-
This prefix is used to designate threads which provide lore and necessary worldbuilding for roleplays.
1X1
-
Used to signify this thread is a 1x1 - that is a roleplay between two people.
GROUP
-
Used to signify this thread is a group roleplay between three or more people.
EXPEDITION
-
Can be used IC or OOC, as an interest check, jump-in roleplay, or anything in between. Mix and match and find the color combination you like best!
DLC
-
Any extra content, IC or OOC, that players would like to present to others. This can be an AU in #fanon, a side-quest in #canon that's just far enough outside of your private 1x1 that it counts as something different, or a side-thread created by a GM for the portion of their party that got kidnapped or fell behind.
WASTELAND PRESS
-
Threads prefixed with Wasteland Press are special, semi-quarterly newsletters written by @rissa or other GM's of the realm that aim to highlight accomplishments and hint towards future deeds.
Tips on Getting Started
1. Peruse the Main Forum
All of the necessary information to get settled into the realm is right here in the Main Forum! Take a peek through the pinned threads to get the 411 and the overall vibe on Fallout: Requiem.
2. Decide if you're going #CANON or #FANON
Do you want your stories (1x1s and private groups outside of
A Requiem for Spring) to impact the long-term narrative of the realm? Do you want to guide the rebuilding of this great nation or become king of the ashes? Every character in the #CANON subforum breathes life into the Wasteland and creates a lasting impact upon the world. If that sounds juicy to you, you might wanna head over to the
#CANON subforum.
Do you wanna do your own thing, with your favorite partner or someone brand new? Or maybe you have an idea for a group plot in the Wasteland but your ideas don't mesh with the realm-provided lore. Fret not! Fallout: Requiem was designed for everyone to join in on the apocalyptic fun. Peep the
#FANON subforum- it might be your new home!
3. Join the Discord
Come join the nerdy, post-nuclear fun in the Fallout: Requiem Discord server. We mostly chattin' about future characters, rollin' for starting wealth, and sending pretty aesthetic pictures of decrepit things. :3
4. Find A Roleplay
If you're looking for a roleplay to join, look for the
OPEN
and
QUEST BOARD
prefixes! Keep an eye out for
MISSION EVENT
prefixes too, as they usually signal first-response roleplays and sandbox events.
5. Make a Partner Search Thread or Create a Roleplay
Interested in 1x1s? Or perhaps you have your own group tale to weave! Create a
PARTNER SEARCH
thread to advertise your plots to the masses- if you want to be economical, add your characters into your search thread
or create your own private
HOLOTAPE DATA
thread to showcase and store all of your characters. If your search thread includes plots for group-only roleplays throw a
QUEST BOARD
prefix on your thread as well.
6. Still lost? Ask for Help
The Wasteland isn't friendly, but I sure am. If you can't find the answer to something, don't hesitate to reach out!
