The Gaunt

  • So many newbies lately! Here is a very important PSA about one of our most vital content policies! Read it even if you are an ancient member!
I'd be interested although the chat session would have to happen rather soon. I'm gonna be on the road once the next check comes in the mail.

I apologize for the delay. A post is incoming Sunday. Getting info to the last player and getting this worked into gear :P

Been a busy week.

I'll be gone for 15 days starting Sunday the 29th. Jack is going to be the one controlling Brian for that length of time. Here's hoping he isn't too mean to you guys :P

Chairese Maple

Age: 23

Appearance: (I draw my characters. It's just how I roll.)

<img src="http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu325/I_wear_Spandex/ChaireseRedeemer-1.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px;padding:5px;">

Personality: Chairese as a child, was always sort of maternal in a way. Though for all intensive points and purposes, she acted such as a child should. Talkative, passionate, edger and very liked, people just seemed to open up to her. She helped with the younger children and always sought out others in order to "connect with them". It was not uncommon for her as a small girl to go wandering about and introduce herself to strangers, having hourly conversations with people she had met only moments before. She strived for perfection, and in turn pushed for others to reach for happiness within themselves. Spunky and innocently curious in nature- a smile almost always was set, glued to her rosy hued cheeks. She was too young to remember anywhere but the orphanage and considers it her true home.

What is Chairese like now you ask? A confident young woman who caries herself with graceful execution. That passionate fire still burns just below the surface, visible to the right eye. She still very much so invites people into conversation no matter where she is or whom she is with. There is beauty within her presence for she carries herself with a certain authority around others. In conversation to strangers she could be observed as intrusive, perhaps even a bit forceful with her words, however, to the person sitting across from her would off as merely being curious and nothing more than kind. Public History: Chairese was adopted into a well off family and whisked out of Sancuary at the age of thirteen. They moved her with them, periodically jumping from big city to big city for a few years before settling in New York when she was about fifteen. With frequent moving and high expectations to live up to she pursued her education with the utmost diligence steam-rolling her way through honor's courses and other means of higher academics. She transferred high schools around the age sixteen after a classmate, presumably a friend of Chairese's, passed away. After that she graduated high school early with a 4.2 average and was accepted into Notre Dame where she studied business. She graduated top of her class and with remarkable recommendations from her professors.
She is currently interning at an international hotel chain as a business and economic supervisor.

Relationships:

Tori Avalon: Such an odd girl but often misunderstood and picked on. Chairese was very often kind to her and if others were outrightly mean to her she was not afraid to intrude and remove her from the situation. Whenever she noticed her in a room alone she would extend comfort and companionship even if it wasn't reciprocated. To Chairese no one deserved to be alone. She wasn't sure what happened to Tori because she herself was whisked away from Sanctuary at the age of thirteen, far before methods of clear cut communication were established. One memory she holds from interacting with the socially odd girl was that one day, while playing, she noticed some of the older boys picking on her. As if impulsively she walked over to one and shoved him down to the ground claiming bullies were just scared little boys and for them to leave. They did so and she spent the rest of the day showing her, her new doll.

Brian Cundall: The "cool kid." The show off. Chairese did not dislike Brian except for when he persuaded his doings onto others. He was a year older and very popular with most of the others as was she. He for being charismatic, sharp witted- her for just having a natural pull that people were attracted to. Similar but vastly different. She tried not to pay him heed for constant shenanigans kept the idea of trouble lingering, though her natural curiosity always left her questioning how he managed to get away with so much.

Edward Manson: Brian's best friend, he was always by Brian as far as Chairese was concerned. There was seldom a moment when the two were not together. When he wasn't flocking to the next thrill and adventure he was a jokester and a funny one at that. Chairese enjoyed his humor, though on more than one occasion instructed him to be careful. One moment in particular, he was playing on the playground, standing on the bars showing off as per usual before he took a fumble to the ground foot having slipped. Chairese remember rushing over to him and using the lining of her dress to stop his bloody nose. Her dress was ruined but aside from a bloody nose Edward came out unscathed.

Christopher Moore: Chairese played with Christopher a lot after he started to open up more to the other children. He was happy and cheerful like herself. Her favorite game to play with him was tag because they both always found extremely well hidden places to hide. An admirer of his athletic ability Chairese often commented to the younger children if they wanted to play as well as Chris did they had to eat all of their meals and get plenty of rest.

Barnson and Barn's Toy Shop- A small old fashioned toy shop that Chairese loved, absolutely loved to go to. She would beg, and plead to be taken there all the time. She loved everything about this place to it's tin toys that wound on cogs and screws to the porcelain dolls that she would collect when she earned enough money. It was a place they did not go often except for the "special" occasion or two which made going here all the more exciting. It is a very whimsical place things places every which way and that.

Chairese's favorite thing to buy were dolls. She loves collecting them. To this day she can't help but feel a swell of nostalgia every time she laies eyes on one, but people grow and things change. She still has the dolls she collected at the orphanage. They often remind her of where she came from and the life she was graciously given.

The man who runs the store is named Barney. (Or that's what they called him when they were children.) He was always very kind and offered the children candy when they came into browse. Peppermints mostly, however, the occasional piece of bubblegum was slipped here and there. Mr. Ashburn seemed to be good friends with the man, always had conversations with him while the children went running around the shop, touching everything any way they could. Whenever something broke Barney would just laugh his deep hearted laugh and say that he would fix it. By the time they returned the toy was as good as new.

Oh, iwaku. Your system is foreign to me. Hope you don't mind me cutting in my profile here....'bout time everyone got together. Let me know if you see anything wrong Jack. I should most likely go get my intro done.

Too late! *Jumps on the roleplay and forces a post down its throat*

Jack, this is why I cannot have nice things.....THIS IS WHY.

...plots are nice things :(

Heeeeyo. Post up for y'all. Anyone need a faster start?

I'll be posting sometime today. Promise.

Totally fine, Zen. I just wanted to know if people wanted this sped up

Where are we on this, y'all? Is there still interest?

I still have definite interest in this.

...Just hating my writing at the moment. :/

*Lurks*

>> Pay me no mind.

Aaaaaalright! We have all five players! We may be joined by a sixth, but I haven't written it in yet. The sixth will not be a part of your group, technically...more details when I has them. Thanks Nexus for getting in your post. Twas
Great. Also, great use of the flashback mechanic, Soap, and a wonderful speech from both you and Zen. We're a bit bumpy on how often I wanted to post, but hopefully you'll all help me stick with it just a bit longer till I can introduce the next hook.

Y'all are great.

/touch

Your face is great. Also a sixth? Really now? Children, children everywhere. AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE. Illoma would be proud, and by proud I mean would want to murder all of them. Evil creatures.

Careful there. We're holed up in Sanctuary, Colorado.

Eloma and Chicago are but distant afterthoughts. Patience.

Now then. Shall we continue most gloriously?

*Pokes his other players*
