THE BALLAD

Romeo continued to look up at the balcony, anxious of what the king had to say. What could be so urgent, that he had to summon all of the Heliar at once? Romeo was also aware that he must never question the king's orders. He looked away from the balcony and then scanned hte area. All the men were talking among themselves to one another and the sounds of chatter and laughter filled the air.

Truly, it was a sight to see. All of the Heilar rarely came together like this and to see them all together now, was truly amazing. He often wondered to himself, if it was the separation from the women, that made it dull for the men. Even if it were true, they would never admit to it. They had their pride and they didn't want that pride to be broken.

Everyone grew quiet and turned their attention to the front doors of the castle, where the king walked out. Romeo looked as well, and was surprised. The king had never walked out into the courtyard before. No matter how important the matter may have been, he never stepped foot in the courtyard. Now, Romeo was even more anxious , to hear what words his king had to speak.

"Attenion all Heilar! For A while now, we have all suffered. Many of our people have died and we lose one more each day. But, those cold days are over. You will no longer live with the fear of dying! We have found a new planet to make our home! It is a planet called Trazelia, located jsut south of our planet. We will live on as a strong and proud race! We will break these shackles that bind us! The Heilar will survive!

"LONG LIVE THE HEILAR!!!!!!!"

Romeo's eyes widened in shock. He could not believe what he had heard. The king had just stated that he had found a new planet! This was truly a happy day for all of the Heilars. Everyone burst out into a fit of cheers and celebration by the message. While they celebrated, Felius made his way to the center, and then spoke.

"Heilar! this is truly a great moment! Celebrate with parties, and let tonight pave way for our bright tomorrow! Go now, we have a big day ahead of us all" Felius smiled widly, and then turned and headed back into the castle.

As everyone began leaving the courtyard, Romeo looked at the castle for a few more minutes, and then left the courtyard with everyone else. To celebrate and prepare for the big day.

The reply Leona had gotten was pathetically feeble, but she expected nothing less from Cricket. The young woman did not know how too react under pressure, more so to Leona than everyone else. Leona knew how to send a glare, and she was sending many at Cricket. Heavy ones, at that.

"I leave you alone for a few moments to find you in the Queen's courtyard. If I wasn't so prepared to travel to Trazelia for supplies, I would have a mind to make you train for 3 hours."she said in a low, mother like tone. Leona listened to her own words float back into her ear buds and even went so far as to flinch when they reached them. She was beginning to sound more like a sister to Cricket with every passing minute, even though she wanted nothing more than to have the girl following her around. In a way, Leona was being a hypocrite: thinking she wanted nothing to do with Cricket's clinging nature yet scolding her on disappearing. She had yet to come to grips on where the girl lied in her life and would not worry on it at the current moment. The Lerion were overjoyed to know that there was something new to look forward to. The battle with the Heilar did not have to happen.

"Come. We must prepare for this trip."she said, not giving Cricket anymore time to pull attention to herself. Her little squeal was enough to have half of the Lerion eyes on her puffed cheeks and Leona wished for none of the attention to be dawned on her. To compensate for all of the eyes on the two of them, she released the grip she had on Cricket's hair and returned it to her arm instead, pulling her off back towards their tent.

"Don't bring too much with you. I don't want you to carry more than you can handle, which you always do. I am not taking care of you this time, Cricket. You're old enough to take care of yourself. Are you listening?"she snapped, squeezing the grip on her hand lightly, not enough to inflict pain, but only to put her point across. The only pain she would inflict is the pain on a Heilar, those disgusting dogs....

Tomakie would have rejoiced like many of the women here including her sister but there was just this feeling of anxiety she had resting behind her heart. What if this wasn't the world it was said to be ?What if the situation was worse? Her wide grinning sister had mistaken the look on her face for utter and speechless shock, though that really wasn't the dilema. Throwing an arm around her, and pulling her into a hug yelling with the crowd, Tomakie culdn't help but admire her sister's upbeat enthusiasm."You heard the Queen Toma!! Tonight we CELEBRATE!!" Reiki yelled with looking down on her much shorter sister after she had let her go.Toma only sighed inwardly, for he many truths to be spoken she had not wanted to really celebrate, her answers were only more questions...questions she feared would be answered in a most disheartening way.She loved experienceing her people happy for once but that wouldn't stop the impending doom she felt from becoming reality. It's not like she wanted to be a kill joy just the mere fact that she couldn't help the way she felt on the inside.'Father...What is it that I must do..?' Still taking notice that her sister was still cheering along with the crowd she snuck away to be alone for a while to ponder and possibly over come these feelings of dread upon her.
Those shallow eyes searched the answer to many of her questions in the world around her, but as usual nothing ever came. Could it have been true that this new world would leave them without worry and fear..would their tears really fade into the past? How could they when destruction umong their kind was destined to happen without stronger protection? Swamped by her own questions she gave up on her thoughts ,no longer letting them sink doubt into her Queen's words. The lingering dread had of course not gone anywhere, however perhaps a celebration could do it then again knowing Toma she could never really fool the one person who knew her so well, herself. Reki would never notice her being in space or looking so gloom and not having and not having as much fun as the others. Packing would do as a fine excuse, it would allow Toma to be alone and to pack, she could also probably catch up on some sleep she'd been missing due to nightmares and such. Though that would have been the least her of problems when it came to sleeping if it wasn't for Reiki's loud snoring at night. It had been only a few minutes since she had walked away from all the cheering, it wouldn't be long for her sister to come blindly looking for her in the mst loudest fashion possible.

[DASH=#66ccff]Having left the courtyard Faye wandered through the streets, lanterns lit in celebration glowed softly in the dim light and eager and hopeful Lerion women filled the streets all discussing the new planet. Faye as well was full of hope after hearing about a new planet where they could live safely again, but she tried to keep her optimism in check as she hated the sickening feeling of disappointment and either way the answer would come soon enough.</SPAN></SPAN>

A woman called her name and Faye turned to see her mother weave through the crowd toward her. "Did you hear the queen's announcement, dear?" Layqa said, her voice almost quivering in excitement, green eyes glittering. "Not only did Claurisa make it back home but she found a new home for us." Although Faye preferred to keep her own excitement under control she was glad that her mother was smiling with actual happiness, because of their uncertain future on Zailia that put pressure on everybody Layqa rarely smiled for real anymore.

"I know mother," Faye said with a smile, her spirits rising with all the cheering and laughter around her. "Come on now, cheer up and have fun Faye, tonight we celebrate, the hardships can wait until morning." Layqa threw an arm around her daughter and hugged her before moving off with the crowd, with Faye trailing after. The other thing that occupied her mind tonight was her father, this new opportunity for a new life on a new planet reminded her of that day when the split occurred and the Lerion and the Heliar went their separate ways to find new homes. She wondered how the men faired in their new home, if they had just went their own way to live happily separate from their families without care or if they too felt the sting of loss.

Shrugging off those thoughts Faye fixed a small smile on her face and continued through the crowd, intent on enjoying the feast at least for awhile before retreating back home to back what stuff she needed.

Cricket could only whimper as Leona scolded her, treating her more like a little sister than an equal partner. However, what could you expect from a woman who easily was two feet taller than her and also quite a bit more mature. If anything she was getting off easy, as some days she really would train her for three hours straight or even longer than that! Honest, some days Cricket that that woman was insane. As soon as her curl of hair was let go of she was soon grabbed on by the arm, being dragged off towards the exit of the court yard so the two of them could pack.

She sighed as she was pulled along, Leona still yelling as she said not to pack too much and how she wouldn't help. Well that would be a lie, that woman said the same thing at least once a week and not even a few days later she'd be helping Cricket out with something even though she never asked for assistance in the first place. She never spoke against it though, Leona was a complicated person and she knew that that was just the way that she worked. Besides, she still looked up to the woman as a good friend, whether or not Leona agreed was unknown.

When she was looked down upon, her wrist getting a small warning grip, she nodded her head quickly and tugged back on her arm.

"I get it, I get it! Now let go of my arm! I'm 20...not 12!" She said back to her as she continued to pull on her hand.
