"Me neither," said Manish as he had his hunters slash the advancing skeletons into half. "So what do we do? If you can protect me, I can construct anything," he said, confident in his skill of alchemy. Many years of studying alchemy were behind him, after all and it would have been foolish of him if he was not sure of his skill in the craft that he practiced for so many years. Still, for some reason, he could not help but think that these two women wanted him to do something beyond his capabilities, a thought which he quickly chased out of his mind. It was a law of the world for practice to pay off, even if one had absolutely no talent in a particular subject, and he knew that he had talent. That is why he chose his profession, after all.
He could not waste more time with thinking like that, though, so he directed his hunters to a certain direction. The fierce animals snapped their huge scissors at the advancing skeletons, sometimes ending eight of them at the same time as they turned towards a certain direction to clear a path. Manish gestured towards Mitsusawa and Clare, indicating that they should follow him. With the help of the hunters and the staff in his hand, he slowly started to clear a path in front of them that lead away from the advancing skeleton swarm. Half of the hunters worked at the thick vegetation while the other two defended them, leaving Manish to fend for himself with his metal staff, not that he was afraid of mere skeletons. Those things were not even intelligent unless the necromancer was directing them personally, which was definitely not the case.
Of course, the necromancer who directed the skeletons, was not completely stupid. Through the eyes of his followers, he could see the way Manish's hunters were cutting through the foilage, and to that effect, the number of skeletons that appeared started to increase, with the ones that were taken care of coming back to life. Now Manish had really regretted that he did not learn the art of the fire mages, but there was nothing to be done against the advancing horde. He could only hope for the best and wish that the laws of the world were still as firm as they once were, and that whatever the request of Mitsusawa and Clare was, it was a weapon that could end this onslaught.
