Name
Raymond Demetri

Age
19

Gender
Male

Appearance
Raymond is about 5'8 (1.72m) tall, but only weighs 140lb., so he isn't the most well built individual around. His build is lean and thin, resembling that of a runner though, so he's far from nonathletic. His right eye didn't always look so strange, but has slowly changed since he was about 14 to what it looks like now. The bandages are always wrapped around his forearms when he's in public, and it's a rarity to ever see Raymond without his dreary cloak.

History
Raymond isn't actually from Sanders, but his parents settled in the town after Raymond was born. While they originally had been part of a roaming caravan, the safety of their child was enough to make them find a more permanent home. The caravan didn't leave them with much, but it was understandable given with his parents' departure they had lost two guards, a significant enough blow without any material losses to accompany it. Sanders on the other hand was happy to welcome the addition of two individuals to their security detail, especially ones with years of experience.

Raymond grew up seeing his mom or dad each day, but it was rare that he'd ever spend a day with both of them. Though an established town, the need for security personnel remained high and it was, according to them at the least, a blessing that they were allowed to switch on and off so at least one could spend time with Raymond on any given day. There were a few days when he'd end up a bit moody, missing the parent that was missing, but nothing serious really ever happened.

As he grew older his parents taught him what they knew best, namely how to eck out a living in what their world had become. They were those that had managed to survive, and they certainly were going to make sure Raymond was one of them as well. Neither were really proficient with the old style of weaponry that had replaced the comfortable feel of a pistol grip in hand, but they trained Raymond as best as they could; sparring with whatever martial art or close quarter combat styles they knew of.

And eventually, when he was old enough, they started to bring Raymond along for their daily work. Nothing too dangerous really, mainly patrols on the wall where they kept a lookout for any Demons that would try to approach. It was here that Raymond's talent for magic was discovered. As the men below prepared to meet the Demon before the gates, Raymond, at the time only about 13 or so, couldn't help but imagine what if his parents were down amongst them? What if it was his kind uncle Thaned from next door? He could see the claws on the monster as it ripped up the ground underneath with every step. Those thoughts caused something to bubble up, to swell within the young child and before he even knew what he was doing, he lashed out. Except it wasn't just a young child's fear that reached out for the approaching Demon.

Lightning danced over Raymond's skin, blinding those beside him as he crouched down, lost in a swirl of emotions. With a startling crack, twin tendrils arced from him to strike the foul beast. Though it wasn't vaporized or even fatally injured, the sudden shock to its body paralyzed it momentarily. And when the mighty beast stumbled and fell to the ground, the town's guard on the ground didn't hesitate for the moment. While those on the wall, looked at the now unconscious young boy in awe, those on the ground hacked the stunned Demon to pieces.

From that day on, or at least after he woke up, Raymond knew what he wanted to do. Protecting the town was great, and he admired his parents for what they did, but going out to destroy the Demons before they could threaten others? Wasn't that even more effective? While his parents didn't exactly approve of their son venturing from the safety of Sanders into unclaimed territory, they also couldn't deny that he wouldn't be quite powerful if given a few years to train and learn more.

So that's how Raymond got to where he is now. His father calls him a "battle-mage" jokingly, but that's not too far off from what he actually does. He doesn't make trips outside of Sanders too often as one often requires several weeks to fully recover from, but on he's starting to work towards his dream of protecting the town through proactive rather than reactive means.

Equipment
  • Two knives. One as a last-resort melee weapon and the other for daily uses.
  • A trio of batons that can be fitted together to form a spear 6' in length. One of the three has a spear head attached, making it a bit lengthier than the other two, at around 2.5' rather than 2'. He's skillful at wielding the weapons as individual batons or joined together.
  • An amulet with a Crystal set in the center. Despite its small size it has a surprisingly large capacity. The coloration is a pure white in comparison to the normal purplish color. Significantly rarer, this coloration of Crystals has a far greater capacity though. It was given to him as a gift from the guards in hopes he'd be able to use it best after his initial awakening and display of magic. Raymond estimates it to hold about 250 units worth of "Mana", so charging it does take a substantial amount of time for him. Currently holds 250/250 charge.
  • A messenger bag. Keeps a few things inside at all times such as an extra set of clothes, some survival equipment (such as fire starting methods, a length of cord, etc.), and a small journal to document his travels and any information of Demons he encounters. He tries to maintain a supply of rations (dried or salted) and extra Crystals whenever possible.
  • His travel cloak. Fairly thick and water-repellent, it's a life-saver at times by keeping him warm and dry. Its dark color also makes him hard to spot when staying to the shadows or at night.
Combat/Magic Style
Despite the initial act of magic that revealed his potential, a few years has taught Raymond that such flashy displays of power are rather inefficient and simply a waste of his reserves. Demons aren't exactly creatures that feel fear from what he's observed, so such shows are generally best reserved for the less savory humans he occasionally encounters.

When confronting Demons he utilizes his spear the most often. By inflicting a wound against them, he can then pour magic through the weapon and actualize it within the wound. Since the distance is much shorter, Mana consumption is reduced, and their physical toughness is also bypassed since the magic happens within their bodies. Wind blades or a miniature explosion tend to do in even some of the larger Demons when it happens within their neck.

As mentioned above, Raymond tends to use a conservative and efficient magic style. He prefers to maximize the potential of every "Mana Point" he spends. That means he tends to not use magic when it isn't necessary. If he can do something physically, he'll do so rather than using Magic as a shortcut. Outside of combat the most common use of his Mana Pool is to recharge depleted Crystals around Sanders. Though his efficiency isn't great, at about 50% right now, it's far better than when he first started.

Allright. I can allow the crystal as long as you add that it is a crystal that is pure white a very rare kind of crystal. Usualy crystals are purple and have sizes simmilar to their capacity. That was my fault for not specifying that. Also tell me what the current charge on the amulet is and you should be good.

Cool. Currently, it's at max charge since he hasn't been out of Sanders on a expedition for a while, so it's gone unused.

Can I join? Also, just to be sure I have a good idea on the mana points (as I really want my character to be magic based) each character gets 35 and they can give them to ether defense or magic using?

15 DT and 10 MP to start off with, alongside 10 points to distribute however you want.

You can take points from MP or DT to distribute amongst the other, but DT has to be at least 8.

That means you can have up to 27MP at most, the 10 free and 7 from DT which leaves your character with 8 DT.

Name: Sage Williams

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Appearance: Sage has curly red hair that she keeps in bangs and a bun. She keeps her goggles usually in her pack but a bandana/random piece of fabric in her hair to keep the fly-aways out of her face. She wears a white dress with a button up top that goes to her neck, something she chose intentionally not only for the style but for the ability to hide her crystal, which is both valuable and a tell-tale sign of her magical practice- something she has found not all people like. The dress goes down a little past half of her thigh and is usually accompanied by a blue vest and or a dark green government style jacket that has no hood but comes down past her knees. She wears boots all of the time. Her boots are mostly tight fitting and brown with buttons on the outside half way way up to her knees. She thick white socks she wears with these go past them slightly. The parts of her legs and arms that you can see have light white/gray tattoo's on them that look like lightning- her tool of choice when using magic. She is slender with a healthy, athletic build and is at average height. She looks flowy overall as her hair is very thin- though there is much of it.

History: Sage Williams grew up child to the mayor of a moderately large town that took up home where Atlanta once was. She saw the workings of the government from the young age of 8 when both of her parents were assassinated. Despite her parents murder and the reasons that caused it Sage did not grow up as a rebellious child, rather a quiet one. She kept mostly to herself but was always insistent that she go to parties and meetings and spend her time in the common areas of the government. She was in the home of the accountant for the town, a man named James Williams, her uncle.
She made little friends, but made no enemies. Her bond with her Uncle James, in comparison to her relationships with others, is her strongest. She trusts him and allows for him to view a small scope of her opinions.
Throughout her time as a child raised in the government, Sage focused on learning magic. She collected a decent array of crystals to enhance her natural talents, which she inherited from her mother and cherishes as if they were an heirloom. She collected as many books as she could manage on that subject and others as she grew up, filling her room with books and her classes at school with that one quiet genius. Magic, in fact, was the only thing about her that anyone really knew about her. Her skills that she didn't show were still spoken of, due to her obsessive reading on the subject and a small book she kept notes neatly written in. By the time she was 14 everyone knew about her magic, as she had gotten herself in trouble on her 14th birthday by lashing out at a 16 year old named Drake when he attacked a girl. Drake was a self righteous chauvinist, and after his blinding fight with Sage, he was never the same. However, though everyone knew she attacked him, and everyone knew she had all but killed him, she didn't go to their makeshift jail because he was too scared to speak.
When she was 16 and a legal adult in their town Sage got ready to go out of the only home she had ever known. She was given a pet bird, a new race of bird called a Fawk, and she named it Jennings. Jennings was trained to deliver messages, with a small pouch attached to her. James gave her as a present to recognize Sage's goal to leave. Since then she has been traveling, going from town to town and selling her knowledge and skills to make her way.

Mana Pool: 27

Damage Threshold: 8

Equipment: Sage has a lot of equipment, though little weaponry, as she was able to prepare for her journey before hand.
  • A rose pink crystal on a necklace, about the size of two dimes on top of each other in height and one dime in diameter. It is not a clean cut and has a current charge of 63/100 (is that a reasonable amount? if not, I will change. I want it to be valuable but not unreasonable.)
  • A knife that folds in, from the tip of her thumb to the tip of her pointer finger in length when opened.
  • Her leather bound notebook with her neatly written notes. Also, a couple of pencils that she sharpens with her knife.
  • A bedroll pack and a spare of clothes.
  • A sewing kit.
  • About three days of sparing dried fruit and meat.
  • A generous amount of coin money, hidden in a small pouch.
  • A bandage, much like an ace bandage but made of towel like cloth and three safety pins.
  • A tough water bottle that holds a quart of water.
  • A small bath kit, toothbrush and paste, hair brush, and soap.
  • A pair of sunglasses/goggles in case of sand/dust storm or bright sun.

Are we going to start this weekend? *Super Excited*

Any idea on when the RP will start?

Dunno. Given it's been a week since the GM posted here, so I'd say it's probably dead?

Is there any way to give this to someone else then...... Like a socially acceptable non-mean way? :D

Going to assume this has found a spot in a cemetery, yes?
