I also made up a system for telling the weather in dots.
The weather is on a scale of . . to .....
. . is cold, ..... is hot.
. . basically equals 0.5 and ..... is 5
Perfect weather is ...
Dots with no spaces between them are whole numbers.
. is one.
.. is two.
... is three, and so forth.
Two dots with spaces between them is two point five.
. . . is one and a half.
.. . . is two and a half.
... . . Is three and a half, and so forth.
If you want to use the method out loud, you say whole number quickly, and halves slowly.
Four and a half would be "dotdotdotdot dooot dooot."
One half would be "dooot dooot."
Five would be "dotdotdotdotdot."
That's telling the weather using dots.
One time I was talking about the weather to my friend during French using this method, and she was getting really annoyed, so she said really loudly,
"Shut up, or I will stab your eye out with a fork!"
Unbeknownst to her at the time, our year level manager was no more than a metre in front of us, and heard exactly what my friend had said. She gave us a bemused look.
