Shadow Runners

He had tried to get the man off of him, but then the first man joined in. Using a seal on him. He couldn't afford not to be able to use magic. It was his only means of entering this body once more. He roared loudly as he was pushed and let himself be pushed out of the body. Nograd sat invisible on the other roof across the street. No one could see or hear him now. "I'll be back my new rivals, I'll be back," With that he ran off to regain his strength.

He was shot back into reality not knowing what was going on. There was a man on top of him, but the only reaction he had was pure fear. He scrame for a moment and pushed the man off of him. He shuffled to his feet backing up still scared. Though without realizing it he was backing up to the edge of the building's rooftop.

Fabius inmediately let go of the man, as he realized it was not under the demon's influence anymore.

''Please, stop! Look behind you!'' he yelled, as he stood up and saw that the man was about to fall of the rooftop. ''You are hurt. Don't move. We'll help''

He looked down realizing he had been bleeding. "Wah . . . how?" Was all he was able to put out before passing out. Before everything went black the person that warned him lunged forward to grab him. But that was all he saw before he drifted off to sleep.

With a jolt, XC regained his focus and what he saw was the faint demonic essence leave the body of the boy and the body falling towards the edge. He could faintly see Fabius leap to grab the boy, before he too sprung into action. The muscled physique of the Chinese man tensed and hurled itself over the edge, landing on the balcony of the apartment below, his arms outstretched and felt a satisfying thump when the boy fell into his arms. For now, they would return to the restaurant and they will deal with the boy.

Now that they knew he would return. He would have to be sneakier . . . more stealthy than last. He didn't know if they could see him or not. But if he was pushed out of the boy's body. They must be able to sense if he is close. He watched from a very tall building. Watching with his very keen eyes. Making sure he knows where they go. So he can make a quick and deadly return. Though since he has been in the body once. If he enters again, he will be much stronger. Oh so much more stronger. He laughed mockingly.

''I guess you can deal with him. We have to hurry, he's... bleeding'' Fabius said to XC, as he jumped off the building to reunite with the rest of the Runners. Blood. What a waste.

''We got him. He's injured, badly. Runners, let's head back!''
he said to them, as he sprinted, checking again over his shoulder to see if XC needed anything.

----

Fabius was first to arrive back at the restaurant. He ran directly into the office, and cleared the large sofa to place the boy there.

XC soon burst into the restaurant with the boy in his arms, closely behind Fabius. He would've arrived at the same time, if not for the extra weight of the boy that encumbered him and slowed him down. He quickly laid the boy down on the large sofa at the office before he stepped out into the corridor again.

"OI. Anyone awake? Injured human boy here! Previously possessed by demon."

The Chinese man's voice rang through the hallway, seeking out anyone that could and was willing to help.

Bria jerked her head up from off her knees as she heard someone yell from the restaurant. She must have fallen asleep since she couldn't remember what had happened. She leaped to her feet and ran down the hallway. The voice had been XC's and he had said something about an injured human. It had to be that same demon she had seen earlier. He must have fled the body. Bria burst around the corner to find XC standing there. She walked up to him.

"What happened? Where's the human? Is he alright?" She didn't wait for an answer, just opened the door and walked into the room. She saw the boy laying down on the sofa, covered in blood. She turned to XC again.

"Oooo... N's going to kill you. You know how much he loves that sofa!" She smirked and then turned serious again. She walked over to the boy and grabbed his wrist, feeling for a pulse. His eyes were closed and he was breathing too shallow for her liking. There was a faint beat but it wasn't as strong as she would have liked it to be. "We need to get him some IV fluids. And try to find some blood. We don't want him to get hypovolemia." She walked over to the cabinet to try and find the first aid kit.

Nograd smiled happily seeing them run into a building with his host. A few moments went by with him thinking, wondering, that if he got close enough would they sense him. He had to be sneakier, he would have to wait until they all sleep. He will sneak in and take the hosts body right under their noses. First he would have to wait to see how the human acts when he wakes. Good, he will wait a day or two, and then he will take the body back. Those fools will never see him coming.
