The jousting fields of medieval England: where men went from knights, to gods. Working their way up from wrestling, to sword fights, to the coveted position of the highest tier of tournament combat, knights did anything to raise their names and banners high before the King. And those at their sides, knew they too had that same chance. Squire, smith, spokesman. Each had a chance to change their fate, , and they would do anything for it.
An honorable knight in title only, back from battle, only to see lands taken from him for the sins of his father. A well-read milkmaid with a tongue like a sword, longing to excite crowds with poetry and wit. A crippled smith, whose work is heaven sent and the best in London, if someone would look past a missing limb... And this is just the beginning of ragtag bunch of misfits, shooting for the moon if just for a chance to land among the stars.
All depending on a metal man, on a big pony, with a giant stick.
Put No Faith in Rome
There is nothing more unforgiving than the arena of Ancient Rome. Every day brings new blood lust, from either animal or man, turning the most sane of humans into the most vile of murdering beasts. But, for slaves, it can mean the sweetest thing of all: freedom, and life as a citizen of Rome.
But where there is promise in the sinful city, there is also deceit. Pleasure is valued above all, and what pleasures the Roman people are their worshipped gladiators killing and killing and killing. One warrior's final fight in nearing, and with it, the opportunity for a slave girl to rise in position with him. So what happens when the freedom soon to come is ripped away? Will a gladiator stay true to Rome, or take the offer of a bitter woman to run from the city that has betrayed them?
