Rokugan - Part Two

Keiichiro scooped at his rice with his fingers, eating as politely as he could as he watched Yue play. He expanded his vision as he sat, rested, and ate his simple meal. He had intended on keeping an eye on as much of the camp as he could, taking notice of every little detail under the guise of watching this beautiful, enchanting woman play her music.

Instead, he was mesmerized by the simple beauty of the moment. A tired young woman, plucking innocently and deftly at her instrument, playing as softly as she could with the others' comfort in her mind. It gave the song a delicacy that would be unachievable normally.

He had nearly been fully sucked into her song when an imperceptible movement had just barley caught his attention. Someone was watching him. He fought the urge to tense up, instead clapping softly for Yue.

"You have a wonderful talent."

Yue loved playing the pipa. Her father often told her stories about how her mother would play for him at every opportunity and he had been so proud when his daughter shared her interest to learn. Music had the power to soothe the most pained and troubled souls and she had seen so much that supported that. The spirits, both nature and human ancestors also enjoyed her music and for that, she was so grateful.

She eventually stopped playing and lowered her head, glancing away. "You do this one a great honor, honored one," she said softly. "This one is grateful it was not harmed in the attack. So many people need their spirits lifted. It can be difficult to keep one's self centered when it feels as if the world around one is falling around them."

Tokito saw someone and and immediately turned away. If the 'unicorn' recognized him in his new disguise she would realize he was not who he seemed. He say hunched over and finished the bowl before setting it down and moving away from Ryoko. It would perhaps be prudent to change back into what we had worn when he had the the sorceress, though he would prefer to avoid her entirely.
