Predator: Mayan Devil

Razor patrolled the border of the camp for a few hourse before she felt sleep begin to pull at the edges of her mind. Deciding that it was probably Carter's turn anyways, she spun on her heel and walked towards his tent. He was asleep, but it Razor had to guess, it wouldn't take much to wake him up, so she just poked him in the chest. His eyes popped open in alarm, and he looked instantly ready for a fight. Razor rolled her eyes. "Chill, just came to tell you it's your turn." When he calmed down, Razor nodded her head at the camps border, than she walked towards her own tent.

((Please don't decide an action for other people's characters T^T))

Carter swayed his head to the side then got out of his bed, quickly grabbing his AA-12 and moving out for the perimeter. He saw foot prints where Razor stood, noticing how the spot she picked left her easily exposed to open fire. So he improvised his own place to hide for over-watch. He looked to his left and found an opening to climb up a tree. If he got high enough, he'd see both the camp and what enters and leaves it. That would be an advantage that anyone would see as the best place to be. Trees would be durable cover and makes you a hard target.

He put his weapon off to the side and started climbing with his bowie knife. He didn't worry about it getting dull, because it would just get sharpened everytime he pulled it out of the bark. Each brach he passed up wouldn't be strong enough to hold him but he found one half way up that would. He grabbed the surface quickly with his right hand, then pulled himself up and laied his back against the trunk of the tree. His right leg hung from the branch while his left stayed aligned with it, as he watched the camp.

From such a distance he could still see Razor in his bed, as if she was like a teenage stalker. "You stay in my bed any longer, I'll have to buy you dinner after this." he joked looking at the moon.

Mai paced around her tent anxiously. She had only slept for an hour or two. Mai didn't like the sounds of the forest at night, they made her nervous.

Not only that, but she really wanted to get to the pyramid. She was curious as to what the artifact was. Of course, Mai knew, she would have to wait.

"Maybe a walk around the camp will tire me out!" Mai decided, looking toward the opening of her tent.

She stopped herself from leaving though. The night-time noises seemed to get louder. -Such a city-slicker- she thought.

After a few moments, Mai took a deep breath and stepped out of the tent. She looked around and started walking.

Mai paced around the camp for a while before her eyes started drooping a little. Finally, with a yawn, she began heading back to her tent.

((Sorry, my mistake. Guess it just depends on the RP))

Razor sat in her own tent, a small lantern offering up shallow lighting. She set her sleeping bag up on the floor, than worked on unlacing her combat boots, which took her longer than expected when the laces knotted up. Kicking off her shoes, Razor climbed into the the sleeping bag, and laid with her arms behind her head, the picture of ease. Of course, on the inside, Razor was nervous. She didn't know why, but she knew something just felt wrong, and she couldn't wait to get this mission over with, get her money, and pay the bounty on her head. Razor closed her eyes and massaged her temples with her thumb and index finger, either she hadn't drank enough water that day, or she was seriously start to stress out, because Razor only got headaches from the two.

She shook her head a bit, trying to clear it, than she closed her eyes, and rolled onto her side. Hopefully she would just drift off and stay asleep till the sun rose....But of course that was wishful thinking. Razor never really slept, she more or less tried to relax, and usually failed, which meant she spent most of her nights awake and staring. It was amazing that she had the energy she did during the day.

June 15, 2013. 6:35 AM

It had become early morning and Carter was still a bit asleep in his tree. So much, he started to lean to his right and fell out the tree. "AHHHHH,' he shouted as he fell, landing on his stomach. He rolled around for a second and hugged himself to calm the pain. A hit to the stomach is any human's weakness no matter who you are, the pain finds you eventually. Unfortunately, it found Carter first thing this morning, probably just to let him know it was time to get moving. The workers were moving out the temple again, so at least it woke him up at the right time.

"Damn, it's time to go..." he said as he cringed at his pain. After a few minutes it dimmed down and he went back to his tent to grab his AA-12. His G26C was already strapped to him, so he just needed his back-up weapon. All while he went to go get Razor and Mai. He went to Razor's tent first and nudged her shoulder to wake her up, then over to Mai's tent and shook her a bit. "C'mon we're moving out ," he said walking out from their tent.

If they weren't awake soon, they'd be left behind. So Carter took his time to grab them a jeep before they were all gone. If they were gonna be on time, he needed to be three steps ahead. Carter got in the driver's seat and placed his AA-12 in the back, then started honking the horn to wake 'em up.

Mai opened her eyes a little as Carter shook her awake. She groaned and rolled over, covering her head with her arms.

Little did she know, a short while later, Carter would start blasting a car horn. "Ugh," she growled, rolling out of the cot.

She got ready quickly, tying up her hair, and stumbled out of her tent. "Time already?" Mai asked. "Finally, I just wish I wasn't so tired."

As usual, she held her messenger bag close to her. Mai arched her back as she stretched and smiled. She got into the jeep. "Well, I wonder how long it'll take us to get there," she commented, "Since we're not walking today. We'll hopefully have a lot of time to explore."

Razor peeked an eye open when Carter shook her awake, than slowly pushed herself up first onto her elbows, and than into a complete sitting position. It took her only a few minutes to get dressed, once again dressed clad in black - she really needed to rethink what she packed for these kind of things - she pulled her long dark hair up into a messy ponytail to keep it out of her eyes, than proceeded to carefully put the explosives belt around her waist, and the M16 on her shoulder.

She hopped out of the tent, trying to pull her left combat boot on, and saw that Mai and Carter were already packed and ready to go, waiting in a jeep. Razor grumbled something about the boot, than gave up trying to put it on, and ran half bare foot to the back of the jeep, jumping in and hitting the side of the car to let them know she was ready to go, than continued to try and get the boot on.

"Good, no delays," he mumbled as they both got in after so long. He started up the jeep then pushed hard on the gas and followed behind the other trucks and vehicles already ahead. The road was rough on the jeep, bashing it a bit with branches and bumping it to almost wobble it over. Mud beneath the vehicle started splashing on the doors, but didn't hit anybody inside. Carter was glad about that, he knew he might have to get his hands dirty but at least wait for it to be at the temple. After about five minutes of driving he found the rest of the group, and instead of a temple they found.... a tunnel?

His face immediately dropped from 'finally!' to 'are you kidding me!' in just mere seconds. But if Carter had a hunch, he'd have to believe that the tunnel leads to the temple. He placed the jeep in park, then got out to take a close look at the tunnel. When he got close enough he saw that the whole wasn't done by their equipment, but it's been open for about several months. The wall of the tunnel were smooth and had perfect precision. In conclusion.... they didn't make this opening.

Even so, Carter was ready to get paid and go home. Back at home he had a plane and a condo waiting for him, maybe a cold beer on the side too.

Razor had been in the back of the jeep, and considering how fast the car was going made for a very painful ride. She was jostled and tossed around the car, before she finally got a hold of her seat belt and managed to clip it into place, and by then there were basically there - or at least they were parking in front of a large sinister looking tunnel. "I hope you brought a flashlight Mai..." Razor muttered, unbuckling her seat belt and jumping out of the jeep, landing in a puddle of mud, causing it to splatter up her boots and the bottom of her jeans. "Goody." She growled, the mud didn't bother her, it was more or less she was just having a bad day.

Razor rolled her shoulders a few times to get any tension in her muscles out before they continued on. The chill ran down her spine, the chill that told you something was going to go wrong....Like that feeling you got just before someone died in a horror flick. The excavation team were passing out a few snacks, being there was no time to eat in the rush of the morning, and Razor quickly snagged and apple and bit into it, waiting to continue

Mai held on tightly to her seat as the Jeep jumped and jostled along the way. Finally, when it stopped, she took a moment before getting out to ease her queazy stomach. She was going to joke about how she should've walked when she saw the others' serious expressions. She followed their gazes to see what they were looking at.

She saw the tunnel and tilted her head to the side. Such a perfect tunnel. Mai wondered who -or what- could've made it. Whatever had done it had done an incredible job.

Mai got out of the Jeep a second before Razor saying, "Yeah, I brought a flashlight."

"So... Does this lead to the temple or...?"

"Looks like it..." he whispered as he eyed the hole.

It was extraordinary, nice to see but what it kept beneath, most likely will be even better to see. From the look of it, the tunnel went about five hundred fight. Far enough to bring them to the right coordinates. It was straight forward, leading into the next mile. Carter tilted his head a bit, then grabbed a rope for the trip down the tunnel, he hooked it up and started getting a head start. Whatever was down there was going to be a challenge to find, no doubt about it. The rope would help mark their starting and end point.

He had a few flares in his pack if it got a bit darker down the path. Looking back up at Razor and Mai, he stopped for a second and started waving for the other workers to get started.

Razor watched Carter set up a rope, and smiled slightly when a picture of Hansel and Gretel popped into her head, of course they were eaten by a blood thirsty witch, which caused Razor's smile to drop when she remembered that. Great she had just made the tunnel an even more sinister place than it already was now that her mind was about to start playing tricks on her. The tunnel stretched into a long, black, gaping hole, and Razor found herself a bit skeptical about where it actually did end up, though the chances were high that it was the temple, there was still that twinge of doubt at the edge of her mind.

Razor took another bite of the apple, finishing it off and throwing the core away from her, and went to stand at the beginning of the tunnel, trying to find a hint of anything that awaited them inside. She whistled, and as expected got a complete replay from a hollow sounding echo. She popped her fingers nervously, but managed to put on a fake smile, and looked at Mai and Carter.

"Shall we?"

Mai nodded. She laughed a little. "You two go before me though, ok? I'm not good at rope climbing and such," she said nervously. She turned to look at the other workers, who were already getting to work.

She turned back to the hole. "I usually try to make a point of not going into ominous places, but you know what they say 'curiousity killed the cat'."

Razor looked at Mai and grinned slightly. "You're right, I don't make it a habit of running blindly into creepy holes either, than she sent a pointed look at Carter. "So after you." She says gesturing for him to go ahead down the tunnel. "Have fun." Razor watched workers starting to set up and get to work for when they brought back the artifact. Today was going to be....Interesting, at least Razor thought so.

By the time anyone had noticed him, Carter was already at the end of the tunnel. It was pitch black at the bottom, so much he could barely see in front of his face. He felt around his body and reached for a flare, then popped it to see what he was missing. Further in front of him was a lot of space, which meant they were in the right place, especially when he saw it. The monument that took them hours to travel to and a few minutes to get to. The Temple.

Carter had been to many jungles before, seen Mayan architect before, and has never seen anything like this before. It was too unreal to be standing there like that.

Mai crept to the edge of the hole. "Oi, Carter! Have you reached the end?" she called down to him. She had already begun to prepare her own rope, but she wasn't about to go down a hole without knowing what was at the end. "What's down there?" Mai shouted.

He lost in deep thought of the tunnel, as he explored deeper into it. The structure looked truely ancient. If Carter had to take a guess at the age, he'd guess about a few hundred-thousand years. Maybe even more if he was wrong but Mai would probably know. Besides, he was hired muscle, not a fossil finder. For a minute he didn't hear a thing, but the echo of Mai's voice woke him out of it quickly.

"Yeah, It's good down here," he said moving back towards the tunnel.

On his way back, he noticed somethingabout the tunnel that wasn't very noticable at first. The dust on it had a kind of blue-ish black coloration. Carter rubbed his finger tip through it, then brought it up to his nose to smell. And what he scented was unreal.

"Plasma damage....?"

Taking a deep breath, Mai began lowering herself down the hole as well. She had her flashlight gripped tightly in one hand and her other gripped the rope. Finally, she reached the bottom and unclipped herself from the rope. "Oh wow," Mai gasped, looking around.

She gripped her hands together as she looked around. "This stuff is all so old, look at the texturing on the walls!" she exclaimed, looking in awe.

Razor looked down the tunnel where both Carter and Mai had disappeared down to. She took a few deep breaths than hooked herself to one of the ropes and began to descend into the tunnel. She smiled when she heard what Mai had said, and rolled her eyes. She was really focusing on the texture of the walls when there was probably an entire temple just a little ways further into the tunnel?

Razor unclipped herself from the rope, looking around the tunnel, which was almost completely pitch black. She walked up the tunnel where she saw a small light which she assumed was Carter's or Mai's.
